    Joachim Andersen is really excelling in the middle of the back 3 a true quarterback

      You're bang on. I thought after the video was uploaded that was something I should have donated more time too, the diagonals to the wing backs and Mateta are always inch perfect

      Definitely up there with Van dijk and Martinez in terms of passing from the CB position. If cheick douncoure comes back, anything like his old self palace will be a serious team next season

      @danielca3 I touched on it in the vid, but like you said, I think Palace's main issue this summer is less who they get in, more who they keep. If they can get away without losing anyone then that's a brilliant window

      Oliver was brave enough to take over mid-season when other people wanted to see what happened at the end of the season

  • @gold76

    Glasner seems to be getting an extra 10% out of Will Hughes and Mateta, potential is huge, however the big test will be this summer if Olise and Eze have suitors

    Agree completely.
    Franca will be a huge asset to that system as he's young , strong & quick , Decoure & Wharton in the middle pinpointing passes to Franca , Metteta & whoever stays , will be a huge attacking threat against anybody .
    Marc is also perfect for this when he's back .
    Selling 1 or 2 stars for funds to gain squad depth will definitely get us top 8 , possibly Europe.
    The future looks bright 🌞

      Yeah I neglected to mention that Franca cause I feel like I've only seen him in glimpses but I've liked what I've seen in them, yeah Guehi using his athleticism in the wide centre back role will be key. Much to look forward to you for you mate

    I just want to see a full season with Eze and Olise staying fit and playing under Glasners system. I can see maybe Marc Guehi going which would be sad but I think if Glasner can lure Lacroix over he could maybe do a decent replacement job. Otherwise he could maybe look for Tuta or Pacho from Frankfurt but their contracts are for another few years each

    Great video, the only thing I'd disagree with is Henderson being better than Johnstone on the ball... It's the other way round. 👍🏻🦅

    • @Zedders
      @Zedders  Місяць тому

      Tbf I would still say I rate Hendersons composure and his overall range, I did do a disservice by making it sound like there was a gulf between the 2, Johnstone's possession play has improved more than any other keeper in the league, and he's a much better shot stopper and overall keeper then Hendo, so I absolutely should have phrased that better. Thankyou for the kind words though man!

    • @Animalistic9
      @Animalistic9 Місяць тому

      @@Zedders yeah no worries. The general consensus amongst fans is Johnstone's distribution is superior, add to that he's had more clean sheets. We feel safer with Johnstone. That own goal against West Ham for example 🤣
      But hopefully he can improve on his weaknesses and I think he's a confidence player, needs games and needs his fans & coach behind him!

    • @Zedders
      @Zedders  Місяць тому

      @Animalistic9 yeah I completely get what you mean, I'm a United fan and he had a period where I thought he could have pushed on, but he's so so erratic. Completely understand why Johnstone is preferred and completely understand why he still gets in England squads

      @Animalistic9 dreading it, you're looking class atm in it, and the idea of Eze & Olise picking it up in the silly amounts of space we'll give them, forcing either Maguire or Casemiro to expose themselves is a recipe for disaster, you should absolutely feel confident

      Some context to the combative towards management (Wolfsburg, Frankfurt), in both situations it was more about loyality towards truth or politics. In my opinion he chose the truth part and got squashed by ego management players who didn't like that he won't align with their "politics" play.

      Tbh with you mate, that wouldn't concern me as much as loosing Dougie Freedman, he knows the Championship market better than anyone. Plus you have that Franca that could be an important player after having a year to adapt. Would obviously be a loss, but not the worst thing in the world

    • @ThreeRunHomer

      Wharton’s best position might be attacking midfielder rather than defensive midfielder, making him an option if Olise or Eze leave. Regardless, Palace need more depth at centerback and defensive midfielder because their starters are injured so often.

    reminder that roy hodgson called the fans 'spoiled' as we sat with 3 wins in 18 (brentford, sheffield united and burnley) with the exact same players glasner had for his 4 wins in 10 (burnley, liverpool, west ham and newcastle). much needed change for us

    • @Table53
      @Table53 Місяць тому +1

      It wasn't quite the same players though was it.. given that Munoz and Wharton were new in January and Eze and Olise were still injured or recovering from injuries. Glasner seems like a great appointment, but the results do also line up with having much stronger players available!

    • @joeknight6151
      @joeknight6151 Місяць тому

      @@Table53it was though wasn’t it. Hodgson went 3/17 games up to February with Munoz and Wharton in the team for a good 8 games. Hodgson was literally called out by our at the time head doctor of the club for absolutely killing our players fitness, not listening to medical professionals advice on rest and recovery. We had the same every single year with him, and it was no issue under vieira, we had the cleanest bill of health in the league for 1 year. Hodsgon bought on an already injured olise against Brighton when we were 3-0 down at HT and lo and behold he played 9 minutes and hodgson never managed him again. The injuries were predominantly his mismanagement of the players fitness.
      All you have to do is just watch palace under hodgson then watch palace under glasner. It’s night and day difference. We don’t try and defend 1-0 losses anymore. We finally have a coach that listens to his team, admits his own mistakes, doesn’t attack our young players in interviews and tells the fans they are spoiled for not being happy that we lost 0-2 to Bournemouth at home when they were shit and we needed points

    • @Table53
      @Table53 Місяць тому

      @joeknight6151 Hey, Munoz made his debut against Brighton from what I remember. He then played against Chelsea and McCarthy managed the Everton game. So that's two matches with Munoz and Wharton rather than eight like you guessed!
      Sure, I agree with some of that. But Olise missing 11 games at the start of the season was an international injury and nothing to do with us.
      I agree we're doing well now, but I do think we also have to recognise that the team is better now than it was in the first half of the season

    • @commentarytalk1446
      @commentarytalk1446 Місяць тому

      To put the record straight: Since Palace got back into the EPL, they've had to balance relegation fights with low investment and a league with more investment and competition each year. I remember all those managers: Warnock, Holloway, Pulis, Pardew, Allardyce and Hodgson. They all did their bit and none more so than Hodgson avoiding the relegation battle and the drop for 4.5 years.
      Then you're reply to the video which is not including the 2 times Palace did try and "modernize" and had to part ways with both managers: De Boer and Vieira... before this 3rd time lucky with Glazner.
      He looks like a solid tactics manager with new ideas but he's also got one of the best squads Palace have had in all the above years also and healthy so they can play. Bear in mind Vieira looked great above for one year before a tail-spin so it's early doors.
      I'd say in the end fans have been spoilt: Spoilt by how bloody good it's turned out in the end through thick and thin.

      @@commentarytalk1446 Great comments guys. Glasner has definitely given us fresh impetus but hasn't our upturn also coincided with Eze & Oliseh's return and Wharton & Munoz's bedding in ? To be fair to Hodgson [ who , remember , did oversee flowing football at the end of last season when he had a full squad to select from ] he has rarely had any creative players to work with this campaign. With regard to Mateta he was playing very well before Glasner came - starting with his unexpected but very welcome target man performance against Brentford at home.To be clear , it was definitely time for Roy to gracefully exit stage left , but i think i'm right in saying that we were never [ other than his first couple of months ] in the relegation places under his 4+ year stewardship...and he was never given the shiny new toys that Vieira was. Fingers crossed that we keep all our players...and keep them fit !!!

    Good video, with insight that reflects what I see why the naked eye at games.
    Just a very minor point -- it's not really fair to lump Roy in with 'Brexit types' -- the guy spoke in favour of remain, spent much of his time working in Europe, has had multiple international jobs and is credited for having a long-lasting influence on the Swedish game.
    Fair to label Allardyce and Pulis as that, but not Sir Roy! 😀

      Tbf I will admit I did underrate Johnstones distribution I'll accept that but Henderson is very capable with his ability to sweep. Does seem to have regressed in the last year or so but at United he was more than comfortable with the ball at his feet
