Fits in all my pockets. Edc the g 10 version no problem. Its actually more comfortable then a smaller knive cause it fills the pocket and doesnt slide around from one side to another
This has been a grail knife of mine ever since I first saw the Expendables, I actually Googled it immediately after getting home from the theater. For many years I was strictly a budget knife guy, but now have a decent paying job so I finally have this coming tommorow. Watching vids to tide me over lol. Also, I was going to mention that it was Mickey Rourke that threw the knife, not Stallone, but several others beat me to it so I won't bother saying that it was Mickey Rourke that threw it, because that would make me a jackass. But it was totally Mickey Rourke.
I have the XL and it is a monster. The big Thumb Tab is also designed to snag your pocket and auto deploy the blade as you are doiing a quich draw. It is stunning to others while I pull a 7.5 inch blade with a 9.25 inch G 10 handle that apears out of nowhere . It fits well in my pocket but just barely.. My XL was $179. but I got it a long time ago.
@@Cameron_OKG sorry, don't remember :/ But for sure it was first season, early episodes (for example when he drove Saul and 2 ginger guys into the desert)
I got the XL Espada a few weeks ago (G-10/AUS 10A version) and the thing truly is insane. It's almost like a full size bowie knife that folds. Here in Australia it's illegal to carry in public but I just wanted it for the collection because it's so damn cool. Cheers MC for the interesting & informative videos. 👍
I carry the g10 large espada in xhp . I love it . One of the best knives I’ve ever owned. It is more then capable for self defense, but you can use it in the woods . I have an it cuts like a laser. I lived in Florida for years I carried this knife everyday. Thats wearing nothing but shorts now mines is the g10 but I think they are very close in weight. Here the deal about lock until you’ve been cut an almost lost fingers. You will rethink your statement. I’ve had to liners locks fail. But there is a difference people that buy coldsteel use their knives. The pocket jewelry an collectors by crazy price over built but it has a weak lock an frame lock is just a fancy liner lock. He’s my thing how much is your fingers worth. Mine are worth the strongest lock in world. If my knife scares people then they really don’t wanna see how my mind works. I also carry a Rahja2 . Vaquero xl, an last but not least Spartan nobody can beat quality an price of a coldsteel.
I got mine from Midway for $204 & I love it. The fit & finish is flawless & I'm getting used to carrying such a large knife. I'm a big fan of Cold Steel.
I remember when these showed up in the Cold Steel catalog all those years ago and thinking these were standard sized, classed-up pocket knives. I was shocked when I saw the actual size🤣. I’ve had several and this model is surprisingly user-friendly. The hollow-grind made for a great sliver and it got a lot of use in the kitchen.
Xlint Eagle...Felt similar about the Ranch Boss II. Saw it online around Christmas and got on the waiting list. Just got it a few weeks ago. Hope you don't have to wait as long.
At the time I bought this (the actual one in the video), I got it for $213. I will admit that I generally wear 5.11 pants on the reg, so finding an “espada pocket” isn’t too hard😅
DieselDabz710 if you’re planning on using them for “tactical” stuff, or you don’t mind that look, then they’re excellent. My favorite for every day is the “Stryke”. They have a sort of business casual look, and they make me look I have an ass. They also have a bunch of subtle “tactical” features. Thank goodness I get mine issued to me because they’re ridiculously expensive. I think they’re on sale on the 5.11 website as of today if you want to try some.
It only has a right-sided pocket clip. The lefties are screwed. Especially with the pocket snag but the g10 model has ambidextrous pocket clips. I'm a lefty so that's why I got the g10 model
I Love mine. An unapologetic big folding fighter. I carry mine everyday, ( along with a polishing cloth), and I don't notice it's size, and weight at all. For me, it carries perfectly comfortable.
That's my baby. I carry her with me everyday.. and, also, I've never had any trouble with putting the espada in my pocket. It fits, perfectly, fine and I don't have large and deep pockets.
The frame looks to be machined aluminum. Aluminum is pretty soft. I wonder how it will wear around the hinge or bearing area. It’s a beautiful knife, I’m curious how it has held up for daily users. Aluminum would gouge or gull pretty easily I’d think where the friction points are. I’d almost rather it were a full skeletonized steel frame for durability.
I am pretty sure you would have to carry this much like a sword maybe katana. Wired over the shoulder. Some other belt mechanism perhaps a crossed her chest. This is not as skinny Jean knife every day carry. I could definitely see ya in my backpack. I kind of think I’ve HAL the Jedi carry their light savers.
Sorry that happened to you, friend. Similar thing happened with me with a drunk demanding a cigarette. I warned him 2 times to leave me alone and he spat at me. He then rushed me and I kicked him hard in the abdomen, he flew back. I had the 4Max scout almost took it out.
@@AValentinoFilms Thanks, but good for you, you ended the fight. What makes it so hard for me to live down is that I easily could have ended the threat as soon as I felt threatened, but I happened to be in a weakened state that night and maybe thats why he thought I was an easy target. But that was long ago and I can guarantee you that if that situation ever presents itself again, I feel pretty confident that I will prevail.
Oddly enough the fancy model is not ambidextrous. There are no holes for the pocket clip but the G10 is ambidextrous. That's why I bought the large G10 model
Enough with the Mickey Rourke espada knife! I just watched better call Saul and Tuco used it so much better and I just bought both the xl and the lg and the xl is a little to big I prefer the large one better!

Was Mickey Rourke's character not Stallone's who used the Espada.
In Mercenaries
Fits in all my pockets. Edc the g 10 version no problem. Its actually more comfortable then a smaller knive cause it fills the pocket and doesnt slide around from one side to another

Tuco Salamanca from Breaking Bad was using it in Better Call Saul series :)
Do you know what episode ? Or really what situation they were in ?

No size limit on pocket knives in QLD, especially with a use for it ( fishing, cutting rope, cloth, food prep, gardening etc.)

The XL Espada is next on my list. It's always been kind of a GRAIL to me. I certainly don't NEED it,,,,but I WANT it. 😎
Who's to say you dont need it . I'll tell you what . If you ever come into a situation that you do need it and dont have it......................

Thank you for your service . In times like these you guys deserve all the respect .
BoneyBlades well thank you for the support...very much. All of us (humans) need a little encouragement sometimes. Yours is greatly appreciated.
Fantastic knife carry mine on the daily. I find its great for pretty much everything
With this knife in your pocket you feel like Sylvester Stallone. Cool knife can slice an apple like a boss.
I have several of the large and one medium. All of them have Veff serrations. The one that you’re showing is currently at Mr. Veff’s getting Veff’d.
Just ordered mine today. Can't WAIT for it to arrive!!! GREAT REVIEW TOO!!!

I've found my new 5th pocket knife!
Really? So many other choices imo..To each there own. Enjoy your new pocket sword!
@@dieseldabz7104 dude it's a joke. How many 5th/watch pockets have you seen that this would even fit in?
Plus the blade waves open on your pocket so you don't have to open it it does it itself
This is the knife Tuco Salamanca uses in Better Call Saul. I just bought mine.
Yes the large espada was in expendebles but it was mickey rourke (Tool) how threw it

Knife is a lot more useful than this review gives it credit for. It doesn't feel heavy in a jeans pocket.
I have carryed the XL espada it carry well just put it on the clip.
@@Kyle-bb9zp Exactly.
My younger self always thought cold steel was a bud k brand i didnt realize they make quality products

I carry the Espada XL G10 version every night at work, I'm a security guard
How is that legal?

XL fits in my pockets very well. But it will stick 2 in out of pocket
It is still very utility or self defense
Is there a smaller version?
It was actually Mickey Rourke who threw this knife in the Expendables.

I so badly want to get the Cali legal espada xl. It’s the dumbest looking thing but obviously a staple in knife collecting😂
You should move to the free part of the country and get the everywhere else legal version!;)
Wish I had this when some thug jumped me in a parking lot one night.

important to note its us steel and a us company
It's too strong for it's own good
Might be a world famous knife yet this Cold Steel Espada does absolutely nothing for me..Nothing. Seems fairly gimmicky tbh..
Welcome to the knife world 👍
