Yes you can still ledge yourself, only it has to be on a ledge you could jump from and survive, even at critical health
My friend ledged himself as a shinobi once, I called him shitnobi ever since
U can still with the kick after havey if ur opponent falls form the ranged havey and u follow up with a delayed kick and nice that ur kick doesn't connect u fall
Last I checked, Shaman can still ledge herself if she performs predator's mercy on an opponent as they are being ledged.

As a current Shaman main (still fairly new to her at rep 2 and change), 1v1s with Shinobi are generally child's play. Ranged attack or guardbreak? Dodge and punish with wild cat's rage or predator's hunger. Kick? Dodge and punish with heavy. Heavy, soft feint into stab for bleed, guardbreak, throw, and partake of their flesh.
As mentioned in the videos, in Dominion, Breach, or Brawls, it's a totally different story.
@@cwheels01 In Domination, it's basically Shaman's job to keep the shinboi in check. If they're good, you'll need two people to effectively kill him though.

@@cwheels01 did you not watch the video? Any decent shinobi will deflect those dodge heavies. Shamans are all predictable in that they love to spam dodge heavies, and this video shows that you can deflect literally while in the animation of the kick. And since they have armor even if you do get a heavy on the shinobi, that's a free GB+sickle rain.
It is so sad that the community in this game is so toxic that when you get a well made argument for why shinobi is broken everyone just jumps down frezzes throat, its sad.
That, and the posts on the main subreddit, legit makes me lose hope.

True. Its really getting on my nerves. Yees, Raider is better than before, we got it. That why they reworked him, so he isnt trash anymore. Now he gets the same treatment like other stronger Charackters like shugi(where we've seen what you can do against in last vid) and gets hated and complained about. I really hate this. Its like: "Wääh, I play FH for 2 years now. I always perfected Raider, now i have to think when i go against him. Wäääh dont wanna think, wähhh"

@@propastypete1958 I completely get what you mean but I think the point is before they do anything else or change any other character they need to get Raider to a better place because he's the most imminent issue. I don't see anyone using shinobi for easy wins, damn sure see a whole lot of Raiders nowadays though. For God's sake freeze put out a video last week showing his stunning tap is even faster now. I play on console so it's a horrible experience.

I love how the character with full plate has almost no armored moves whatsoever, and the spy in rags has the most powerful form of armor in the game. Who made these design choices?
Armor is evidently more about your health pool while hyper armor is your ability to just ignore pain.

Cent is really different side of the same coin as shinobi, both of them need a serious overhaul. The difference is shinobi has way more utility and strengths overall.

I think centurion is a pretty decent character overall, i’m confortable playing with him in any situation and i think the only thing that he lacks off is his bashes mixups, like really, even a Entamoeba histolytica could react to his follow up punch after neutral heavy 99,8% of the time, it’s almost instinctive how easily you can dodge it, so why not making the kick and the punch faster and giving the punch a tracking property, so he could trick the player into charging the punch a little more and putting him down if he dodges the normal one
So Ubi, why haven't you hired this guy yet? Hes better at play testing your game then you are.

And, to the people who say it's the players' faults for exploiting; What does removing exploitable moves have to do with you if you don't use them? If you're arguing about removing moves you don't even use (apparently) then that tells me right there that you use them.
explain more on “exploitable moves”. if you are talking about his moveset then you are a degenerate yourself. you can’t say someone has a exploitable moveset. that’s exactly how the devs made it.

Can we just stop with the shinobi shilling people, just because the hero doesn’t have offense realistically doesn’t mean first of all he’s terrible, secondly doesn’t mean his mechanics aren’t broken. Offense takes a backseat to defense in FH, you have a character who is exclusively good for their ability to punish in FH.
“But I don’t have a problem with all the shinobis I fight”, And I never had a problem with any of the PKs I fought for the first 5 seasons of the game, doesn’t mean the hero wasn’t busted and overtuned. Do you think people like dying to 50 damage punishes for one mistake? B-b-but my low HP pool, how does a good shinobi player take damage in the first place.
The hero is problematic and needed to be reworked more than anyone in the cast for more than a year now. I can barely take anyone seriously who thinks otherwise when people still said he was bad even when they knew about his old 300 ms slide.
Stop bitching about it and get good I'm a shinobi main and i have a fun time going up against Shinobis while I'm playing as him or playing as another character even if I lose or win dude stop complaining about a character

Most people don’t utilize shinobis defensive strengths, while most opponents get melted by stun tap because they aren’t experienced at the game. If you think offense has a clear advantage over defense than you do not understand this game.

So... here’s my question then, how do they fix him, but not totally make him useless/boring/etc? I’ll be totally honest, shinobi is my main, and while I’m tired of ALL OF THE BITCHING about him I totally understand why people get annoyed. I want him to remain playable, but I also want him in line with the other chars. I’m by no means a great shinobi, I’m aggressive, not great at deflects, and I just learned about his smokeless kick. So any real nerf is probably gonna totally fuck me up, but if it’s better for the game I can learn to play his new form. I just want him to stay usable. I don’t want another gladiator or valk.
This is so true if only we didn’t get 6 nerfs in a row because ubi thinks shinobi is the most unhealthy thing for the game yet they give cent a Variable timed bash that can be fainted thx ubi
Honestly, I detest fighting Shinobi's in breach as Shugoki. As someone who loves that fat hippo, it's really infuriating not being able to actually, well land a hit and get caught during recovery by a range gb

Additional things worth mentioning imo:
In 1v1s, the blackflip is a good tool to his already really good spacing ability.
His guardmode backwalking speed is insane. This further allows Shinobi to turtle, and just keep spacing against his opponent.
Yeah his backwalk speed completely counters warden and shugoki's 50/50

Also made it super rewarding for me at list to get in and try to trade with people sometimes because the odds are basically stacked against Shino at close range due to health and his guard.

Brahster GM The way you play doesn’t mean there isn’t the ability to just walk backwards or run the whole game and punish any attempt of the opponent attacking for absurds amount of damage. There is ALWAYS the option to do nothing in FH and with shinobis mobility you can have even more options and potential with that.

Go for a trounament seriusly. On the last tournament i was beaten in the grand final by a shinobi because simply you can not punish him and he can punish you. (He is my counter but still nothing i said is false) This shinobi was not out of grandmaster for years(and i mean around gm 20 or better) which is tottaly fine for an easy to beat hero right ? put your fucking main down for a sec and realize that he isnt the best hero but he is badly designed and easily abused. Im a Warden main and she is one of the best if not the best duelist in the game. im not going around telling people she needs a buff or that she dosent need nerf just cause she is my main. Try to look at the facts rather than saying something like : you think my main is op reee you're a noob people did that with every broken/simply badly designed hero and its just boring at this point. Shinobi is one of the worst designed hero in the game rn.

Could you give ur opinion on what you would change in his moveset?
Every competitve player knows Shinobi represents the worst parts of the game. Super armour should not exist on almost every character. Maybe one or two moves. The fact that he has tech like quick dodge (dodge, ranged heavy, dodge creates a very fast dodge that isn't a double dodge) back flip makes him immune to almost every attack. Even if you try to punish it he can get an easy ranged gb for 53dmg.
On top of that, option select parry with ranged heavy, option select deflect with double dodge. Only character that can deflect shinobi and get the actual deflect off is shaman. Pk gets her 35dmg but can be hit with a ranged gb. Something else people fail to mention is he has the fastest back walk speed, doesn't seem important right? Other than the fact that he can literally walk away from some moves. If warden full charges a bash then faints into gb, it wiffs. Let go the full charged and that's a 40dmg Guard break.
Edit: Oh and his very balanced 40dmg light parry which is just 10 less than double Cents, and 8 less than double Valks. Not to mention the highest damage heavy parry at 29 damage, not including set up moves like Cent knee into wall splat or LawBringers impale into wall splat.
TLDR; sHiNoBi nEeDs a BuFf
Lawbringer still has the best parries both heavy and light,still shinobi is really strong
Nonsochenomemettere law bringer has the best damage potential shinobi has the best consistent damage

Two considerations, putting up front that everything said in this video is pretty much true.
First up they might be doing ubi's stupid thing of not touching his gank until a rework, much like raider or LB, which might hint at a shinobi rework next season.
About the deflect i think the difference is that Berzerker deflect got you stuck in the middle of a gank, which might be not ideal at times, while shinobi deflect is way less dangerous to activate randomly as it moves you away from your position and out of being flanked.
I still think sprint attacks need to be looked at as a whole by Ubi. 35 damage for raider, which is decently fast with fantastic tracking, while orochi gets a slow, crummy 17 damage heavy. Worth looking into
Its weird to look back on old shinobi and how far from the main mechanics are from his reworks
Shinobi is not dificult 1v1 but in a gank you better lock on the shinobi and not turn your back on him, otherwise it will be a very short gank.
if he woudnt work in 1v1 he you woudnt see him on tournaments

I think it only applies to the guy he’s locked on, it will play the animation for all four but only do damage to that one guy iirc

You also forgot that the deflect goes through hyper armor attacks AND multiple characters as well, making it completely safe to deflect unlike other assassins.

@Semi-Iron warrior well in a gank situation it’s pretty pointless to deflect guardbreak with zerk since you’ll just get hammered. Shinobi literally just evades EVERYTHING from one deflect

Looking back I get why they had to remove some of the aspects of his defense but man getting rid of quad dash just really ruined the game for me. I'm sure he could have been changed in a way that didn't completely gut quad dashing. But man i remember just spending hours practicing my quad dashes in the training range with zero stamina restrictions. And pulling that sick movement out in-game was like nothing else the game had to offer. Even though most of the time it was just useless dodges it felt so cool. Really sucks that I'll never be able to experience that again

Atleast Raiders attacks are only guaranteed on parried, shinobi gets 40 damage off GB and 24 or 29 off a heavy parry while raider gets 15 on heavy parry and 40 off a light parry and 28 at most on gb
Most damage in For Honor is overtuned, Raiders is offensively focused for the most part, still things like the 40 damage stun tap chain finisher heavy is really dumb. But most people don’t even want to part with their 40 damage light parries. I don’t know why Raider gets more of the mentions for characters recently changed having high damage when LB does even more damage off punishes than shin does.

Yeah it isn't really that low and the whole roster dies in 3-4 heavies which IMO is another massive issue in FH right now

Zer0_ Ner0 throwing a heavy with some characters tracks the backflip. It's just useless to backflip since the kick itself almost can't be punished

Itz Minogue you can punish some characters with that. Dodge warden's charged bash then gb with a ranged guardbreak -also prevents you from missing due to warden being able to bash just out of range from your gb-
I found a stupid high damage combo with shaman on shinobi, you deflect, kick, ranged heavy and then the shaman goes for a bite immediately after then you roll in and do a heavy light at the end of her bite. I don't remember the damage but it's a lot.

I'm pretty new to the game and have taken a liking to Shinobi but I think it is mostly because of his identity and deflects over anything else so I wouldn't mind a rework for him seeing as he is definitely all over the place as you showed. But what would you like to see out of a rework for Shinobi?
