Similar to Goki in this vid, Zhanhu has no consistent way of being sustainable in mid. Nukekubi feat puts you at a disadvantage, since its such a bad feat. Comparing that to arrow shot and Fiery Breath. Sure he might have decent clearing potential, but he's not a good mid laner.
Totally agreed, Nukekubi is trash but on Zhanhu it makes him one of the fastest (maybe the fastest) clearer in the game. Arrow shot is slow as fuck to be really effective (only in gank if your ally doesnt intercept it), Fiery breath is far too situationnal. + in teamfight it allows you to chain zone really easily.

@freeze I really think this video has had a direct impact on the meta. I’m a rep 60 Aramusha, used to being knee deep in B, and in the two or so days since this video has been released, it’s become an incredibly popular spot. I had no idea B was so valuable, and now everyone knows, and it’s changed the way people are playing - at least in the matches I’ve been having. You kind of covered it but the fastest way to get B back to neutral is to kill the very front line of the attackers. The first layer, if you will. Generally these are the guys stood on or in front of the line. With Mushas infinite combo you can make the zone neutral in seconds no matter how big the pack of minions is.
For Zhanhu I do sprint attack into zone into light finisher, and then heavy opener, wait, heavy opener, wait, heavy opener... Works pretty well, that heavy opener has a pretty big hitbox, much better than any of the two finishers. For Orochi, definitely get into lock stance, and then triple side light into dash light (end of chain recovery cancel) into more side light into more dash light... This is very stamina efficient, and you can clear almost a full stack of minions non-stop if they are tightly packed. If they are in loose formation the dash light has some very decent tracking distance.
Great content with real value, as always. I appreciate what you do immensely. I don’t play orochi often but I found his pseudo-infinite chain works pretty well to clear mid by using dash light after chain finishers. Just wanted to mention it in case it was overlooked.

Zhanhu can sustain fights in the lane, but also minion clear. Two feats can do the work to help, the first one being fast recovery, and the better one being nukekubi. It seems that Zhanhu can be efficient at holding a side point ir clearing the lane, depending of your choice of feats. Depending of if you take Bounty Hunter and Nukekubi, or the "projectile only" kit, you litterally change your role in the game, with one character. Also, some other stuff with Zh: - First, doing a running attack to zone seems to be the best first option - And with Nukekubi, you can completely rely on your zone afterwards, indeed. With the hitboxes of the zone and the little recovery, the minions don't even have the time to hit you before you throw another zone. With hopes that the hitboxes of Zh's attacks will become more consistent with the updates, there are chances that Zh is a possible point holder, but way more of a mid clearer, with an at least efficient clear ability.
Never knew there was so much nuance to mid clear, damn. Also, shout out to my team mates who, regardelss of who they may be, always decide to leave the mid clear to me whenever I pick Glad.
I wish my teammates knew that the minion lane existed instead. Lots of them are LBs, but I always find myself clearing the midlane as PK because nobody else will do it
For the Roman bois: Glad can do 4 lights, heavy, skewer, immediately dodge cancel with dash light in whatever direction the next minion is and repeat. It is actually very useful and can be used to clear pikemen if u sub the 4 lights and heavy for 2 heavies. For cent, try starting the chain with a sprint attack and then u can infinite combo the minions (punch, light, heavy, punch etc) as long as they are packed close enough. If ur punch misses then chain will stop. But I prefer doing that to the zone since zone will randomly completely miss and you can’t feint it
Hey freeze... Pk's most efficient minion killing combo is Light into heavy, the heavy come from the side and have a pretty generous hitbox aswell, and because of the rework on some of her recoveries, you can go back to your starting light (wich have a very nice hitbox) much quicker. also... im not an orochi main, but i like to go into guard mode and spam sidelights and when hitting the last light in the combo, i usually continue my combo with dash attacks to keep a non-stop minion clearing combo... as long as my stamina let me. Great Video!
Zhanhu's running heavy -> zone -> forward dodge light -> zone -> left heavy finisher can be useful for occasional clear if Tireless T1 is opened, as it uses almost full stamina bar but without putting them OOS yet.
You make dom games sound extremely Important when it’s really just a savage killing lol though this video is very helpful not only for actual of my games but you help me realize this game isn’t just teaming
I’d consider bp another top tier in the minion lane because of his heavy chain which drains less stamina than zones not to mention if he is fighting someone he can use bulwark counter which will kill the minions around him.
I feel characters like Zhanhu and Raider should clear mid for the sake of clearing mid. If you don't control mid, then your mid guy is either dead, busy in a team fight, or not doing his job. In any of these scenarios, mid should be cleared at least so that the enemy doesn't have control, robbing them of those extra points. After breaking the line and leaving the rest to your soldiers, go back to your job.
Hitokiri does have nukebi and regen. Her zone clears wide chunks and the infinite chain whatever remains. Regen gives her sustain. Also has heal on block like you said (t3 with nukebi) and the t1 sta regen feat. So various combinations are available. So she can do the job and hold her own against challengers. Not claiming it's an ideal use of the character but with feats she's really strong at it.
Good stuff my guy you were right I definitely learned a lot here. I think a video explaining different characters' roles in dominion would be nice (I for one thought that raider and jj were meant in mid, but evidently not :P )
I'm sure you already know, but hitokiri lock on lights are faster than out of lock heavies, because of the weird recoveries, on top of that if a minion hits your guard after a light finisher it will cancel the recovery and create a mini infinite light chain.
Yes leave clearing to the designated clearer. If there's a nobu getting ganked at the enemy spawn, I'm sure as hell going to try and clear with nuxia to save us from braking
With orochi I just locked side light chain cancel recovery with a dodge light attack and do that infinitly it works well when you are alone there but suicidal if you lock onto someone by accident
tiandi has one more "decent" option for stragglers or for clumps of 5-8 its locked on side light into side dodge recovery cancel with side dodge light into side light finisher. first side light can hit 2 minions pretty often, dodge side light and finisher side light 1-2 minions. its good to use when you have less than 50% stamina (so zone would put you oos) but you still want to finish a few last minions real quick
For Highlander, it’s a lot easier if you enter guard mode and then zone, it gives you the ability to control the direction you spin, but obviously there’s an issue if an enemy is too close to the lane.
Very good video, sometimes i wonder how it would be cool if most players knew how to play(meaning ganking, roaming, mid control etc) Dominion, but it's getting better every season(at least at rep 100+ most people knows these stuff).
I think a good idea would to have officers 2 or 4 from breach to push the lane and you can send them to different zones to hold or push. And you get them by killing hero’s the way you active them is you interactive with a officer from the spawning point.
Actually for zhanhu, I feel like he is really good for minion clearing with certain feats. Concerning his feats, I feel like the fire feats can be hit or miss due to me playing close to enemies. I run fast recovery, winners advantage, nukekubi and last laugh. With the nukekubi and fast recovery, it helps with the minion clearing and helps when being stuck with his stam drain from getting parried on his zone and side dash attacks. I feel like playing against turtles and antiganks that those feats help more in the dominion playlist.
I wish I had one of those teams where characters suitable for clearing occasionally visited the minion lane. But ever since my circle of friends gave up on GLORIOUS MELEE COMBAT for Destiny, I only really get random teams that'll leave the minions to me playing Gladiator, for some reason. Probably because most people (myself included) underestimate how many points there are in the lane. It'd be nice if the entire playerbase could watch this video so they'd know who among them really needs to stick around at the lane.
Minor correction, haymaker does do damage against minions, but all of the “fast” hits (Glad’s dodge punch, Cent’s kick) don’t do enough damage to kill a minion in a single hit
Shugoki’s zone into unblock able heavy has pretty good minion clear, plus he can us his grab on a minion to regain his stamina making him much better than he seems in this vid.
Very casual player but late game when I have 4th feat I find it pretty comfy to drop by the minion lane as Shinobi, since it has almost the same recovery as body count, and two well placed zone attacks can sweep most of an enemy held B.
Shaman clearing tip- Lock on and light, light, heavy, bleed repeat. Can easily get through a line in a few seconds and gain health\stam on bleed attack
"Lawbringer and Kensei are the undisputed kings of minion clearing" Valk with wide sweeping side heavies and zone with a fire flask: Am I a joke to you?
Orochi does have good minion killing potential: lock on and use 3 light attacks, cancel the recovery of that combo into a dodge attack, attack 2 more times, dodge attack, and repeat until it's clear.
Since they improved Orochi's hitbox on side lights I believe it's quicker to kill minions with a triple side light combo then recovery cancel into dodge light, then again 2 lights, dodge recovery and repeat. It's not as stamina intensive as zone and let's you clear the mid if you really need to
Shaman's clear is pretty decent aswell, you just have to be locked in. Dodge attack into left heavy into bleed into dodge attack and repeat. It's a fast clear if your mid laner has to rotate for healing.
I created a strat for my team back in the day that pushed for middle lane control. Explains why our team won even if we only got like 6 kills to our 20+ deaths... I love beating a 4 gank squad team.
Nobushi may have fallen out of favour at mid but her feats still make her an absolute terror if she focuses mid on dominion. From making people run away with smoke bomb and fire flask to randomly healing back up to full hp even when she's away from mid and fighting and ofc luring gankers into your fire trap as well as having second wind just to be even less unkillable. Had a match on high rock where I spanked the enemy team so bad they avoided mid like the plague and just ran away from me, we won with a 600 point lead. Don't underestimate a mid laner kids.
Zhanzu with Stamina feats is always at full stamina, but, at the cost of his fire feats. I myself use him with stamina feats and last laugh, because no one is used to it. Ez to get 4th feat, so even if I die on mid, as long as it's not an execution, it's still beneficial to my team
For what its worth: Shinobi can substain himself with his stam & health recover feats (3rd & 4th teir) not that you should be hanging around minion lane as Shinobi.... But you can
I havent played zerk in a while but wasnt his "best clear" dodge attack-heavy-dodge attack-heavy infinite, you could chain the dodge recovery cancel, since hitting minions was counted as a whiff.
One thing that was a little disappointing that you didn't cover was the minion clearing specific feats such as NeverEnding stamina (i think its called nezukobi or maybe nezuboki) zanhu or shaolin but you covered bodycount and battlecry. With their third feat allowing them to kill minions and gaining all their stamina back instantaneously they seem to be some of the fastest clearers in the game aside from Kensei. Im more specifically reffering to zanhu since he doesnt really have any good third feats (imo) so infinite stamina on minions is great. Also, thanks for the video I learned way more than I expected watching this.

Very casual player but late game when I have 4th feat I find it pretty comfy to drop by the minion lane as Shinobi, since it has almost the same recovery as body count, and two well placed zone attacks can sweep most of an enemy held B.
if you play glad, you can clear minions slightly faster if you lock on and use the top light chain only since they are his fastest lights
Shaolin with stamina on hit doing a heavy light loop unlocked does amazing
another fun thing in minion lane is to time a superior block light (like HL or valk) off an external minion attack to make the light unblockable
Warden hidden minion clearing animation 14:29
Shaman clearing tip-
Lock on and light, light, heavy, bleed repeat. Can easily get through a line in a few seconds and gain health\stam on bleed attack
Zhans Nukekubi 3rd feat allows him to clear mid so easily with his zone->dodge attack repeat. He contantly gains stamina from every minion hit
Mate, you did an amazing work! It was a really creative and useful idea
"Lawbringer and Kensei are the undisputed kings of minion clearing"
Valk with wide sweeping side heavies and zone with a fire flask: Am I a joke to you?
Truly a helpful video
Great work, as always.
Orochi does have good minion killing potential: lock on and use 3 light attacks, cancel the recovery of that combo into a dodge attack, attack 2 more times, dodge attack, and repeat until it's clear.
You gotta love the minions. Always willing to die for the cause.
I feel like a good portion of freeze videos are born from ignorant team mates.
3:36 T-Pose!
Since they improved Orochi's hitbox on side lights I believe it's quicker to kill minions with a triple side light combo then recovery cancel into dodge light, then again 2 lights, dodge recovery and repeat. It's not as stamina intensive as zone and let's you clear the mid if you really need to
Of course he's still pretty shit at clearing mid

R.I.P
I tried focusing on centre lain and I carried, you also get your feats so fast
Shaman's clear is pretty decent aswell, you just have to be locked in. Dodge attack into left heavy into bleed into dodge attack and repeat. It's a fast clear if your mid laner has to rotate for healing.
No more heal on block from minions. My only reason to watch this video now is one thing: It's your video.
Body count in the house
Thanks !! My communitie will finally better understand the interest of minions. You forgot mention infinite combo of Orochi on minions.
I created a strat for my team back in the day that pushed for middle lane control. Explains why our team won even if we only got like 6 kills to our 20+ deaths... I love beating a 4 gank squad team.
Orochi's zone clear is actually pretty decent if you spam side lights while locked. They hit three minions at max (which is meh), but 466ms light ftw
Zanhu has a feat that restores stamina for a hit or kill or something, so he gets basically infinite stamina when clearing
Freeze I agree on all of this but Orochi. You can infinite chain the triple light combo with a dodge attack canceling the recovery. Gr8 waveclear.
Thank you freeze very cool.
Cries in nobu
Rip OG minions, you will be missed.
Zhanhu with T3 feat Nukekubi can clear mid lane very fast, every zone that hit 4 or more soldiers can regain all your stamina back.
Also, thanks for the video I learned way more than I expected watching this.
a raider 3 heavy chain clears out the minion lane nicely
