Ailton arrived to Monterrey, Mexico to play for Tigres UANL (1998) right before leaving to Germany. Tigres was in serious danger to be relegated to the 2nd division. Ailton understood this right away, and lead the team's offensive. He played each game as if it was the last game of his life. He played only one season but still beloved and remember by the Tigres fans. If you have a chance, check his highlight videos with Tigres.
Well tbh I think there is one more cheered player in Bremens history and he's even mentioned here. Many here are certain if it weren't for some player called Zidane, Micoud would have been on of France elite player of his gerneration. But since the positon was blocked he never flourished in the national team. But in Bremen there is little doubt about who is the best player to ever play for Werder. Micoud is just like Ailton a player many know way to little about.

Someone who claim as football holic must be known for this guys even he's not so famous like the other brazilian football star. But he' s one of the talented brazilian international player at that time.
I was never a Werder fan, but when he started scoring like crazy after a couple of years in Bremen, he was a phenomenom. And I absolutely hated him for his decision to leave this team that made it possible for him to be this successfull. To me he had one outstanding season and then he left for money. Yeah he made a mistake.
