Wii
Sega and Nintendo GameCube
Do movie opening logos and movie title cards
PS2 for sure
GameCube
That anxiety as you waited on the second half of the PlayStation intro when you disk was scratched
Just staring at the black ps1 screen hoping your game would finally load. Lol good times
Endings
Good: **PlayStation 2** Pops up, accompanied by a satisfying high pitched woosh.
Bad: Red screen of death. Your disk doesn’t work; have fun finding a new copy.
PTSD Activated.
Honey that was the worst feeling in the world
The anxiety that u might’ve forgotten to turn ur tv down at night before turning ur PS2 on so ur parents might wake up
PlayStation 1 intro sounded so futuristic at the time
Still does
Deserves #1 spot.
Definitely should've got 1st spot
Indeed
Sounds like an intro to an actual game
Who else gets chills when they hear some of these start ups
I still get chills when i hear the PS1 Startup Sound. Soooo epic!
The Gameboy and PSP screens make me rattle
Playstation 2s start up always scares me
Me too. Especially the GameCube sound.
Guilty
The Gamecube logo is just genius, from a design perspective.
The original first playstation, that brings back memories.
It sure does ^^
Resident evil
Tell me about it. That is my childhood favorite
Same ^^
Crash bandicot rechet and clank
PS1s intro will always and forever give us that nostalgia vibe, and bring back to our childhood memories!
Ikr, its sooo satisfying too 💜
The Dreamcast is the most underrated console of all time
indeed it is if sega hadn't screwed up so bad releasing the 32 x, cd add on s for gensis, rushing the sega saturn and if the dreamcast was able to play dvds sega may have done better.
Still my all time favorite console .....it literally brought the malls arcade to your home ....
Pure bliss.
Dreamcast was too ahead of its time, i wish sega would make a Dreamcast 2.
Dreamcast needs to come back as Dreamcast 2
the GameCube and the PS2(and PS1) r the memories of my childhood/school-years! also Gameboy( and GBA) and NDS too!
Game cube was pretty cool
Yup!
Not all of them, I only had Nintendo consoles back then.
So in short you had all the consoles back then😂
@@divyankrastogi7508 no microsoft
The PS1 sound is so nostalgic. Makes me feel like a 6 year old kid again. Plus it was my first console ever.
Wasn't my first but the intro was epic!
Yes, but I had a PS2 growing up so that’s a close second.
Mine too
Mine as well
The Gameboy sound is so nostalgic
And I didn't even own one!
Same!
I do. Gameboy advance SP
I had an advance SP
@@Frieowksf1293 me too
@@kennymccormick3646 I did until it broke
I didn't even have a Sega Dreamcast and damm that start up feels Good
Bro it was amazing
Speed Devils
House of the Dead
Power Stone
Sonic Adventure
Ready 2 Rumble
Sonic Shuffle (the intro of this game is nice too)
@@K20civicsirturbo Quake 3 Arena
Sonic Adventure 2
Jet Set Radio
Shenmue
Soulcalibur
Rayman 2
I appreciate you guys messaging your guys experience and games you had :) thank you
Ya same and I’m only 11, I wasn’t even alive when it was released
@@DaFake47 Street fighter 3 3s
The resident evil games
Jojo’s bizarre adventure
Phantasy star online
Im a capcom person lolz
The NES one on the list bugs me. The Famicom and Nintendo Entertainment System did not have boot screens. What was shown was the Famicom Disk System boot screen. Don't think that would be considered the Famicom or NES.
Dreamcast is slotted pretty low for its iconic intro
Its a popularity contest theres no reason a steam console start up is ranked higher then the Dreamcast I guess they have to crowbar something PC related to this list because I honestly forgot steam had a console lmao
I like the Dreamcast boot screen a lot! I never had the console tough. If sega will ever make a Dreamcast mini I would buy it for the boot screen and the great titles.
If they hadn't rushed the saturn and created the 32x, it could have done a lot better in sales.
@@LimsTheMan Agree!
The most painful experience is getting stuck in the start up cos the console is broken.
I feel ya. Sometimes my ps2 would glitch because it was overheated and that's when I was stuck at the menu screen nonstop.
YES!
Or a PlayStation Personified Fear that sucks. Or an Xbox 360 Red Ring that also sucks
yep one time my xbox was just stuck in the start up screen lol
xbox ones s to be specific
Nothing better then the ps2 startup blowing your eardrums out 😂
on god
so THX has a worthy opponent then
That PS2 start up noise will never leave me. I love it so much
Ps1 start up screen was definitely the best one.. it's the most iconic and nostalgic
Yes, It deserved number 1
Absolutely cannot agree more with this.
The PS1 is a king among so many others.
Also the Neo-Geo is underrated even at #6
I remember one time when I turned it on forgetting to turn down the volume waking up my siblings
@@denis-florian_0.57 It depends on the person really because the GameCube or GameBoy Advance SP opening feel like it should be number one but I am bias like just like everyone.
Agreed
Ps2 startup is legendary
Trust Me I Have The Ps2 Fat, 3 Slim, 1, 4 Original, And Portable. I Don't Have Vita, And I'm Planning To Get The 5.
Legendary and creepy
Still got a PlayStation 2
And horrifying at the same time
@@therealniqqatron I liked it though wasn't scary
That ps1 boot up screen will always be legendary
No doubt about it
1990’s: I wonder what entertainment will be like in the future!
2021:
and they’re proud
I wish the GameCube start up animation would play on the Wii when you insert a GameCube game in (if your Wii has GameCube Backwards Compatibility)
I believe it does mien does atleast
Ikr! Such a shame...
It only just played the boot up sound, but not the logo forming from cubes.
GameCube startup brings me back to SO many games
Gamecube, Gameboy and Nintendo DS are my childhood consoles that I always love playing
Dude the GameCube was my very first console I ever played! My first game I played was Super Smash Bros Melee. And the other games I would play at my friends house were Lego Star Wars, Bionicle Heroes, Spiderman 2, and Mario Kart Double Dash. So much nostalgia!
Same along with the PSP and a bit of Xbox 360
The PSP, man that brought me back to the middle school days :(
Still have mine, with the Ridge Racer games and Tekken 5
Me too, I would play dragon ball z at 3 Am many days
Same dude those were my highschool days
All my friends had the DS, but I loved my PSP so much. Good times.
1:22 That startup occurs only when you have a disc inside and an autorun option turned on.
Without the game there's just the Sony text then it comes into the system. Then after you start the game, it shows the PSP logo, when the game is original / console is not hacked.
4:53 You get that title screen only when you have Famicom Disk System plugged in, NES/Famicom didn't have any startups screen by themselves.
5:30 You only showed the European version, NTSC regions had a different logo and music, also Japan only V-Saturn And Hi-Saturn (made by JVC and Hitachi) had different logos, but left the NTSC music.
8:34 You forgot about Nintendo DSi - it has the same startup, but there's an extra chime when (i) appears.
11:33 It's not a console startup screen - SEGA logo is built into the games! In other games you have other startups. Genesis didn't have any startup screen itself.
Sega Master System had a startup screen - Japanese version had a whole kicking ass song playing without a cartridge. Sega CD had a startup screen with a song.
But not Genesis!
Next time please do more research.
True. all true.
The 3ds logo only appears when you start a game as well
@@randomperson3629 and that is as well how did I forget about that!
Finally somebody besides me understands that the NES does not have a start up screen
The European Saturn screen was on US Saturns, too-- which are NTSC. Just saying. Plus, the Hi-Saturn screen had a different tune. :-)
But yes, I'm glad I'm not the only one who knows that the NES/Famicom and Genesis/Mega Drive don't have boot screens on their own. At least WatchMojo didn't try to use SE7EN13's fan made SNES intro and pass it off as a real startup, though. Nor did they use the N64 Disk Drive's boot screen and claim that the N64 itself had a real boot screen when it doesn't.
Too bad that Boot-Up Screens have gotten more simplified as time went on. They're still good at least.
Sometimes simpler means are also effective means.
I think they got the idea for simpler boot-up screens from the same people who had the idea for super short OPs for TV shows.
I like the Wii boot up it's simple and it goes straight to the point.
A trip down memory lane. Trying to make me cry, aren't ya.......
All th way through the present ps5 and Xbox series xs
mayyybeeee
I watched this video and couldn't help smiling. It brought back so many memories from my childhood.
The Playstation 1 boot up is something simple yet very hunting.
The sound is so creepy and will give you a suspense. When you see the black screem with the PS logo then that's what you call heaven!
That's how wonderful PS1 boot up is.
Once you boot up the PS2, it was a touch and go moment until the PlayStation 2 text came up. It was very nail biting yet satisfying. Ahhh... my childhood... ☺️☺️☺️
The randomness in these top tens are amazing
The Nintendo GameCube and PlayStation 2 brought back childhood memories to me I still have both till this day I absolutely love it
Neo Geo and PS1 is such a nostalgic throw back. I miss being a kid :(.
PS2, Dreamcast & GameCube makes amazing Startups sounds 🥰
best generation 😭
Playstations 1 to 4 and Sega Dreamcast are my Favorites
The PS1 boot up sound is the chime of my life. PS2's is a close 2nd.
The PS1 startup is so nostalgic for me that it makes me want to cry 😢
The Nintendo Game Cube he gave us a iconic and a song that gave us meme when we can see the cube forming in the logo this logo is turned into a famous meme and a iconic in all the time
What?

Gotta say the original PS1 is my personal fave. Take me back! 🥺😢😢
Ps2 start-up was always kind of scary to me when I was a kid
Good list. I must admit, I was never a fan of the PS2 startup, but the PS1 was another story. I used to love this startup sound. It was definitely my favourite startup of all time. Especially the last note kept playing until it could not be heard anymore, or it found a disc. Most of the others are new to me as I never grew up with consoles, but I do really like the Dreamcast startup and the 3DS. Thanks for the video
The GameCube Logo was hands down the best one
The PS2 was my favourite, the suspense always got me on edge
That original Playstation boot-up gives me goosebumps every single time I hear it.
When I was a kid, my parents owned a set of super high end speakers left from my grandfather when he passed, the PS1 intro sound coming through them was insane and is engrained in my head as the best noise in the world.
PS1 start will always be number 1. Still gives me chills
The intro with the PS2 brings me back
Nostalgia at its finest, childhood memories rushing in *sheds tear
The nostalgia in this one is insane literal chills
For me, the Neo Geo startup always resonates. Everytime I hear it, my heart skips a beat.
Always loved the ps1 intro
The Red Hell in the Ps2 scared me when I was a kid.
The Sega boot up screen in the game is the iconic and awesome in all the time and we don’t forget the classic iconic world of Sega like this ¡ Segaaaa ! 😎👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
SEGAAAAAA
I wish that this boot up screen came back and was used in the newer games lol
How did the GameCube intro became a meme for some reason and it spread like wildfire.
Feels great to wake up hearing that good ol ps1 & ps2 start up theme. nothing but great memories behind them
PS1, PS2 and Dreamcast for me.
Also the lovely Mega CD/Sega CD music.
Definitely the dreamcast
Wtf? The NES, nor the Famicom console has a boot-up screen at all. That's the boot-up screen for the Famicom Disk System, which was an accessory for the Famicom only, that allowed players to play NES games on Proprietary Disks
Dreamcast opening is WAAAAAAAY low for this list
Sega Genesis/MD didn’t have a traditional boot up screen, just licensing information. The Sega singing jingle was only on certain titles, mainly Sonic games.
Xbox 360 had a different boot up screen for 5 years before the one featured here replaced it when Kinect launched in 2010.
Famicom Disk System had that boot up screen you mentioned, not the NES. You made it seem like all regions of NES had that it. It was only on the Japanese Famicom Disk System
I actually think the Dreamcast was the best one. It's different, really ambient, and WAY ahead of its time. But yes: that Gamecube one I heard ALL through high school and absolutely LOVE the playful, wild, out there nature of it. So cool.
PS 1/2 and sega dreamcast...my childhood😭
The NES did NOT, I repeat, DID NOT had a boot up screen.
What had a boot up screen was the famicom disk system addon.
The PS2 intro gave me existential dreams as a child lmao, like maybe that's were you go when you're dead , empty space/shapes and sounds
The NES never had a boot up screen-- that's the Famicom Disk System's boot screen-- same with the Genesis (the "SEEEEEGAAAA!" screen was only on Sonic games and nothing else). Did you do any research? At all?
All the songs of the logos of famous companies are very cool, awesome and funny the logos they became iconic in all the time and tuning into a funniest meme in the world
This is VERY relevant to my interests!
5:15 That boot up screen was just for the Famicom Disk System. It was a (Japanese only) peripheral for the original Famicom that plays proprietary floppy disks instead of cartridges. Neither the NES nor the Famicom actually had a boot up sequence of their own.
The OG xbox and Nintendo ds was my childhood and it was nostalgic
I miss my PS2. I still have my Game Boy Advance SP. I’m never getting rid of it.

I have to turn my Polk sound system down during PS1 startup so the electronic bass drop isn't waking up the whole building. Gives me the goosebumps every time.
The Mario and Luigi flicking off the lights was only on the Famicom Disk System, not the Famicom or NES.
PlayStation 1 intro sounds like mindhunter's soundtrack .
How about a Top 20 for intros to software? That classic Capcom melody before a round of SF2 is iconic.
The PS2 booting sound and gameboy sound made me so nostalgic that I busted out my old PS and my game boy and started playing with them for hours
I love the first xbox. it sounds great
Old PS3 bootup screen was so good when launching a game.
Nothing like waking up early on Saturday as a kid and turning on the PlayStation 1 and 2 to start the day

My first console: The Gamecube...so much NOSTALGIA!
Bill Gates and Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson at 4:22.
IT DOESN'T MATTER WHAT YOU THINK BILL
I still remember when the ps1 start up screen gave me chills
Thanks for giving me ptsd with that PS2 error screen. I remember spending like hours trying to get scratched up discs to work lol
Nothing gives me more chills than the PS2
It's pretty trash though

Playstation 2 still sends shivers down my spine, not to mention the anticipation of knowing if the disc will read.
haha
Lol
THIS😩
That moment when you get goosebumps and instant thinking of " Hopefully the CD works" by hearing the Playstation 1 sound =D
PlayStation startup is my favorite.I find it to be quite ominous because of all the hours of Resident Evil and Silent Hill I played. And DinoCrisis
GameCube conquers all
What's a gamecube ?
The Nintendo Wii is so iconic. It should be top 10!
4:53 that is not the NES start up, that’s for the famicom disc System.
2:49 the ps5 startup reminds me of the shooting star summit soundtrack for the n64
The best boot screen is NEOGEO 😍😍😍
PS2 at Number 5? *BRUH!* It should be at Number *2!*
I agree
I don't agree with that. But I would put the ps1 intro in 1st place
IMHO the top three are ps1, 360 and ps2, thery are iconic, memorable and defined generations
So much nostalgia in this. Wii, Xbox 360, Playstation, Playstation 2, Sega Genesis, Gameboy advance, and best of all the Gamecube all just flood me with nostaliga and hours on end of times spent with my friends.
Ps1, this is one of the best. So nostalgic
That PS1 boot screen.....CHEF'S KISS😍
🗣PS1 is #1 .... (spongebob voice)
The "Sega" chorus wasn't the console bootup sound, though. It was specifically added to some games, and took up a huge (for the time) amount of memory.
Sega CD's startup screen should have been on this list. Especially the Japanese version known as Mega CD.
Other honorable metions would be the Atari Jaguar and Atari Jaguar CD: The first for the Jaguar sound and the fact that the jingle is the "Have you played Atari today" commercial, while the Jaguar CD is for the multiple boot screens it has thanks to Jeff Minter and his wonderful Virtual Light Machine :)
