A Spontaneous Day Trip to Miyajima Island, Hiroshima Prefecture

Our original plans to visit a small town fell through due to train closures from heavy rains so we headed to Miyajima Island for the day. Unfortunately, the ropeway to the top of Mt. Misen was closed and it was too hot to hike to the top with a 7 year old that will have to wait for another day. On the plus side, we live about 45 mins away!
