My friends and I were there in the first week of October last year! The weather was so nice and sunny the entire time we were there and did the hike from Daisho-in temple as well. It was still quite warm and we didn't bring anything to drink going up so we were definitely very thirsty and tired by the time we got to Nio Gate, but saw that same vending machine at 5:27 that saved us xD the 360 views at the top and our souvenir pin at the store in the observatory to commemorate having gotten to the top was worth it. We took the ropeway down to the park and the views going down were just as amazing. Our ryokan was well awaited to relax after exploring the island and would visit again. Definitely a highlight of our trip
Amazing place how far from Tokyo I am going back to Tokyo December and January my partner lives in Tokyo but does not like walking she rides her bike everywhere.but I hope I can go there with her and walk .how many hrs from Tokyo thank you your videos are amazing good luck
That sounds great! From Tokyo Station it’s 3-4 hours to Nagiso Station depending on the trains you take. You can check out the full trip details here if you want more info! www.marisaroundtheworld.com/solo-hiking-the-nakasendo-trail-complete-guide-and-itinerary/
This is how we also planned our Miyajima Island day! Go up the Daishoin course to the observatory and come down through the Momijidani course. We will be super tired, but I think it will be worth it, especially since you recommended it as well :))
I think it’s the perfect route! Nature + hike + a beautiful temple. Have fun!! (Just be sure to start before mid noon since the observatory kinda closes early-ish. I didn’t realize but made it just in time!)
Very helpful informative video. Thank you. Back in March and looking forward to doing the exact same hike! Hopefully it’s easier than Fushimi inari trek 😅
@@MarisAroundtheWorld next next next suggestion. Walk over Shimanami Kaido and camp few nights on the dotted island. One got a lighthouse, but watch out for Wild Boar. 🤣😂

Thanks for watching! March should be beautiful, enjoy!!
You should camp a few nights with Miyajima deer. 😁 I did, on the left hand side of island. And watch the male fight in the early morning....😂
Woa that sounds cool! I haven’t thought of camping on the island but it would be cool to try
