- Turkey Creek on the Eglin Airforce Base is an incredibly beautiful creek that not many people know about. Definitely worth the paddle! Even having to go through the struggles of shuttling ourselves, we had a beautiful adventure!

I have seen a couple of your videos, but I really appreciate this one specifically because you are showing the hard parts about your adventures. Too many people show the beauty, the fun, and that's important too, but I like to see the downsides. It reminds me that I'm not (necessarily) doing something wrong. And even though the hard parts, that aren't as fun, you're still having fun. Subscribed.
Yea, it's all sunshine and rainbows... Showing the rough parts is fun to me. The tough times are the ones you remember and tell stories about ;)
I like those cycling shoes, do they make em for men? 😂😂😂
Haha!!!!
Yes they do and he is wearing them
@@LLCNipsturBrands hahaha, I guess you didnt got the joke...
He took his wife's sandles lol
Who takes time to watch and dislike this?!? Nuts.
I love these vid’s Trip! You inspire me!
that's what i was wondering... some folks just love being miserable.
Me too, he inspires me to move to the coast and leave Colorado haha. Everytime he post that nice white samd with the turquese water makes me want to move :-( but....im still not fan of the "gators", cool thing we dont have then in the cold.
I love his vids. We have awesome paddling around my place but not this crystal clear stuff like that. Plus he is entertaining. The only downside of his videos is the quality of sound after he dunks his camera. He has gotta look into that.
A pathetic person 😝
Who knows..... At least they took the time to drop by lol
5 mins from home! Niceville Fl here. I grew up in that creek and Boggy Bayou. Thanks Tripp!
same here
Awesome Jason! You're welcome!
Boggy Boys!
I grew up in the Kissimmee st cloud area.....used to paddle shingle creek and boggy creek on the north and south ends of lake tohopakaliga.....there was so much woods and swamp there in the 70s....it was great back then.
John Smith this is up in Northwest Florida between Panama City and Pensacola. Different area!
My grandpa used to take us to a part of this creek right off the highway. So many great memories. Thanks for doin this run Trip!!
Trip you always make this old ladies day thank you young man for the fun videos
You are very welcome!
Looks like you borrowed your sisters sandals too.
Ahhhhhh🤣... Beat me to it
BanG I was thinking the same thing Lol
I get the same crap about my Kino's.They are comfortable and super durable.
Love the sandals though.... I'm comfortable with my manhood ;)
Oh man I love every paddleboard trip u post thank you Trip. Love the sandals
Glad to hear that Daniel, I love them too! And the sandals... totally awesome footwear!
Awesome adventure man. Looks like a great time. Lots of hard work for a day trip but it appears to be worth it. Good video
Thankya! Well worth it ;)
I used to love going to Turkey creek when i was a kid... haven't been there in about 20+ years, but i still have great memories!
How cool! Nice Spot
So cool Trip. Thx for the vid.
You're welcome!
THANK YOU FOR MAKING THIS VIDEO!!
This has been on my to do list for a while. Knew about the hippie hole but didnt know about the other spot to launch from.
You are welcome!!!! ;)
LOVED this adventure! It's on my RockaDock to do list.
Thanks Dana! It's a good one!
Speck/cropy fishing in the spring is bananas! Love that place. Loved about 20 minutes from there.
Great video! Wish I was there. Your first video on the Blackfin is what made me buy mine. I love it!
Thanks! Yea the Blackfins rock....
Another good find bro! 👍🏻
You know it Bryan!
Was beautiful exept for the snake! Love the videos. I watch them while I walk the treadmill to keep me motivated
Haha I hear ya! Glad you enjoy them!
Nah they won't bother you😊 I was terrified and actually held one a few months back that was caught on Rainbow River. Pretty exciting and was really cool to do.
Lol love that you borrowed your sister's bike! Totally something our son's would do🤣
Fun stuff! lol
awesome video!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Glad you enjoy it man! Thanks for digging up some good ones!
Such a pleasant lifestyle. I am kind of getting addicted to watching your videos in the process of preparing myself doing such things in a few months from now. Live out loud. Subscribing.
Love it. Makes me want to be out there myself
Thanks Hudson!
great video !! man we call that shit a expedition .. and they're always a blast .... Trip you da man!
Thanks!!! I call that FUN!!!!! lol
I needed this laugh. Thank you! Funniest Trip video by far. And im only 10 min in
Glad you enjoyed it Jennifer! Thanks for watching!
NICE TRIP , TRIP ENJOY !
Been down that creek many times as a teenager. No passes back then. Hippy Hole was a very popular spot for the locals. Good thing about the clear water, easier to see the water moccasins, lol. The trestle ate one of my canoes back in the day. One too many Budweiser I suspect. They must have replaced that with one of the bridges. Thanks for this footage, brought back some memories for sure.
Great video! The bike ride and hippie hole made it next level!
Lol Thanks Trey!
You may be the hardest working man on UA-cam. Thank you for your efforts.
Haha Thanks Robert!
🤣🤣🤣The biking commentary was hilarious
Yea, it was interesting for sure! Glad you enjoyed it!
Dude, great video Trip! “Neat-o gator sighting” - my wife
Thanks Jon and wife!
Love this video! You’re riding your sister’s bicycle and wearing your wife’s sandals! 😂
Lol yea that made for a good story!
"Hey!....a coozie!"😂🤣🤣😂
Coozies were my saving grace!
I grew up floating that creek all the time. In the early 70’s we floated down in old inner tubes. You ended up at the very boat launch I caught crabs, flounder at speckled trout when I was a kid. The dock was right behind the Chamber of Commerce. We always stopped at Tastee-Freeze by the Turku Creek bridge. Thanks for posting. I floated all the way with you too.😀
Oh cool!!! Glad you enjoyed it. Thanks for the comment.
Got to love all the Springs and clear water in Florida.
Yes indeed!
Yeah Trip we need to see more cycling adventures!
Haha! Maybe so!
“Slow down! This ain’t no race track!” I laughed for awhile at that 😂
Haha, that's a quote from one of my buddies years ago. I love using it lol
I have swam in this creek many times, cant stop watching your vids after seeing the Legendary Marina one.
Have fun God bless!
Oh awesome!!! Glad you found the channel!!! Thanks for taking the time to go back and watching some videos. Don't forget to let your buddies know about the cool content ;)
Awesome, funny video! Brent is a friend of mine, and cracks me up every time I see him. I am loving you channel, and am now a big fan. I just ordered a Blackfin XL. I am so stoked to get started paddling
Glad you enjoyed it! Oh yea, I love Brent! Thanks for watching and enjoy that Blackfin!
😂 lol! That's the funniest video ever! Two cuzies! Now you can give Rusty the pink one 😉
Hahahah!!!! Yea, that sounds like a plan!
Is it just me or was it just pure entertainment watching Trip ride his bicicle? Lol funniest thing ever lol
Ha! I think lots of people enjoyed my struggle lol
@@TripSmith i love all your videos and that moment was a cake topper. Lol
You were literally 10min from my house! We love that place!!!
Oh nice! Great area!
Looks like one I'm gonna have to add to the belt, awesome video bud
Haha yep! Thanks man.
Duuuuude!!! I guess we where at the dock spot a few days after, because I found the green float up in the woods and kept it till it popped this august...lol
The biking part was very funny thanks
Glad you enjoyed it!
I love the content. Thanks or letting me be apart o your adventure. I have covid now and this is helping me not lose my mind. thanks sir! 2/9/2022
Glad you enjoyed it! Hope ya feel better soon, thanks for watching and taking the time to comment.
And doing the pedaling hike in flip flops to? You da man Trip!
You know it! Couldn't burden myself with hauling an extra pair of shoes on the SUP ;)
Great adventure and definitely a hidden gem! The AF permitting requirement and lack of commercial shuttle operators really cuts down on the number of people. We paddled Hippy Hole to Turkey Creek Park several years ago...it was probably the clearest non spring fed river I've ever paddled (yes, it's technically fed by seepage springs, but it's not what most people consider traditional FL springs). Really makes you think just how much urban development effects our waterways.
Yes! You are absolutely right. I loved the clear water....
Truly appreciate your channel! Love your style for adventure and your many different angles to share the experience with all your fans. Question about the choice of the Blackfin XL on a tight river. Do you feel the added length inhibits your maneuverability? Was considering purchasing the X for that one aspect, but also like the added length for better overall glide and gear storage.
Hey thanks John! Glad you enjoy it. I think the XL is the best length. I would suggest the X if you need extra stability for balance since it's a touch wider.
Don’t think I’d take my touring yak down that one! Lol. I would have to use the ol ten footer fer sure! Good stuff Trip! Might have to add a bike and bike rack to my adventure vehicle for personal shuttling options. 🤔
Yea that would be tough.... Glad you enjoyed it, yea maybe so. But I'd probably just toss it in the back of the truck.
Love how the koozie matches your shirt..
This looks so cool. I wish we had cool ventures like this in NY
It's certainly a special place....
There's plenty of places to make your adventure and new York certainly has places to do it you just gotta get out there and look around
Just ordered an irocker all around 11 ' board after watching many of your videos. I'm up in Canada so I don't have much paddling time left. Great job and I really enjoy your videos.
Hey that's awesome! Enjoy the board!
@@TripSmith All thanks to you. Wish I was a lot closer to go on your group paddles. Just started my planning for a little upriver paddle from one of our local dams.
I am amazed at the clear water streams you have in Florida. I always thought you would have muddy murky water. That looked like a fun trip.
Most of them are. This rare actually
Yep, they aren't like this one....
You made good time on that girl's bike!
Haha I reckon so!
NICE PFD
Thanks Andy lol I dont think Rockin Randall always wears his ;)
You definitely started further up Turkey Creek than most!! We used to head a little further up the road to where the Shoal river crosses CR-393 and put in the canoes after sunset. We'd float a while and set up camp on a sandbar. Then, in the morning after breakfast, we'd finish the float down to SR-90 in plenty of time to get to work in the afternoon. If we had more time, we'd continue down to where the river crosses SR-85 south of Crestview.
Oh yea, wanted the full experience. Awesome spot.
Welcome to my wood!! Lol. If you ever make it down again, give a shout! Me and the bf would be happy to help with shuttling you 😁😁
Awesome area! Thanks for the shuttle offer!
I can tell you for certain, I would ride that bike in the sand every day over what I’m doing at the moment.
It’s 25 degrees here in Kentucky. Snowed last night, after 2-3 inches of rain just two days ago.
I visit Florida 1-2 times a year, and I cherish those hot sunny days and those sandy back roads. Especially when I’m not there.
I have bin to many times I love it there
Awesome spot!
@@TripSmith I whould like to meet you are going to be around the Destin area this weekend
There is some fantastic hiking in that area on the FT. Permit required but worth it!
Oh yea? Interesting.
This is so good
Thankya sir!
No problem wish I could make it to rocka dock but I moved to maine
Great trip report. Have you gone down Boiling Creek on Eglin off SR 87 near Yellow river? Very similar to Turkey Creek. Would like ot see a video trip of that.
I have not, but I want too! Might have to do that one soon.
Hey Trip. Loving the great adventure videos. New subscriber. Was trying to review your gear link, but it is not working.
Thanks Jason! Glad you enjoy them. Oh boy. They seem to be working for me?
Just found you man, this looks like fun. Just for the record of those your sister sandals to , LOL
Glad you found the channel! lol Love my sandals!
My mom lived 3 minutes from there, love that sanctuary. About a 13 foot gator if you go downstream. Usually sun bathes at a green house.
Where exactly downstream? I'm assuming before the boardwalk park?
Commented before I watched, didn't realize how much of it was covered. But down stream from turkey creek sanctuary, once you go under the bridge for Port Malabar Blvd where the waterfront houses are
Oh cool!!!!!
Much love from 🇱🇰
Thankya!!!!
Question what kayak did you purchase I have been on the market for one.
What kayak did I purchase? That is a paddle board there - Blackfin ISUP - irockersup.com/blackfin-paddle-boards/blackfin-model-xl-inflatable-paddle-board/?acc=182be0c5cdcd5072bb1864cdee4d3d6e
@18:38 the "silver spider" is a orchard orbweaver. They are really common down here in South florida. Love your videos btw,I have always been a outdoors type of person but after seeing your stuff I really want to "get out there".
That's genius! never thought to shuttle myself with a bike. usually just take 2 cars and leapfrog
Yea I never considered it much either. Now I will be!
I lived in Niceville and used to ride down to that creek
Cool! Great spot!
Just started visiting your channel, now a subscriber. Dude amazing videos, thank you for your efforts in doing what you do. I am planning a trip to this place, actually Panhandle exploring, hopefully in August. I know it’s a risky time, due to storms or heavy rains right in the middle of storm season.
Anyway this entrance seems a little sketchy.. how did your friend end up there before you?
I live out in Destin Florida . Love it around here !! Just starting my mobile detailing UA-cam channel
Need a hand? Wanna move back
I miss the panhandle
Oh cool! Best of luck to your business and channel.
And in the FL heat! Man that is a rough bike ride. On the bright side at least FL is flat😊 #There's a professional over there...he don't stop for coozies" Hysterical!
Hahaha, good times!
Nice work mixing things up with the bike but I definitely think you are much better suited to water based activities. And enjoyable adventure all round. 👍
Thanks! I agree lol
Man there sure is a lot of Turkey Creeks in Florida. I live near Cocoa Beach, so when I looked for it I saw Tampa's, Orlando's, and Palm Bay's Turkey Creeks. It's none of these! Near Eglin AFB is pan-handle, so that's a 8-10hr drive from central FL. I think I may check out the ones closer to me before 'venturen up there. Your vid sure makes me consider the drive though!
Great video Trip! Have you thought about giving the BOTE ROVER or ROVER AERO a try for adventuring?
Thanks David! Ummmm, yes when they first came out I did. But after what I've seen, they just aren't for me. Ever seen one get on plane? Hint: they don't....
My 6 month pregnant wife and I did this starting at the hippy hole just a month before you! I did it on a blackfin xl as well! Let me know if you want to come down again. It was a great trip.
Oh cool! Great spot for sure.... Not sure when the next trip to the area is.... I need another!
Awesome place to try! Maybe a overnighter, to "cleanup" some of the obstructions?
Yes Bob! That might be fun.
How do you like that paddle? Looking for a carbon paddle to replace the stock one that came with my Blackfin XL.
That paddle rocks.... It's pricey but awesome.... I haven't tried many different paddles to be honest. I think just about and nice carbon paddle is going to be a good investment. You can really tell the difference in them vs a normal paddle that might come with a board. Not sure what year you got your Blackfin, but the 2020's come with a pretty nice paddle. Mine is probably a 2018 or maybe 2017 and that paddle isn't near as nice as the ones they have now.
My suggestion would be to just spend $150 or so on one that you think looks good.
Thanks Trip. Got my Blackfin this year. Shaft is all carbon but blade is plastic. I would like to get an all carbon and bigger blade. Not crazy about the new blade shape they have this year either. Not the conventional SUP blade shape. Like watching your adventure videos! Hey, is the Out There logo yours? You sell shirts on any site?
Hi, how did you attach your camera at the front facing you when paddling?
This one I was just using a special tripod that just sat on the board however I wanted - amzn.to/3jQCbrT
@@TripSmith thanks Trip. Love the vlogs
Hey have a group doing turkey creek for Thanksgiving weekend. I need a little inf on your put in , take out, and paddle distance.
Saw Trip at a local dinner. cool guy.
Oh yea? Nice meeting you! Remind me when and where if ya would?
Trip, really cool adventure. We live in Pensacola. Would that trip be okay for kayaks? It doesn't look deep enough for lots of it. Next time you are in the area, let me know. I would be happy to drop off or pick up.
Thanks Mike! Oh yea, folks do it in yaks often. You might need to pack light ;) Hey thanks!!!!
Ok Sir...I live in Palm Bay and just found your channel. I have been here for over 20 years and now I am finally able to fit in a kayak.. would you considering doing an updated kayaking trip in Turkey Creek or whereever else in Brevard County...for new kayakers like me? Blessings!
Thanks
Cute sandles
Thankya sir, they are my favorite lol
Omg I died laughing 😅
That was rough.....
Wife wants us to paddle this creek. I didn’t hear you mention it but how long time wise was the paddle. Awesome videos. Thanks
Ummm I don't recall honestly. Maybe 5 hours?
I might of swam in that creek when i was at Eglin in 1973 and 74
I'm sure you did!
Heyyy my hometown
Nice spot
For sure!
Your Mandals look comfy.
You have no idea..... LOVE THEM!
I have got to try this river but I think I will leave off the large fin , two small ones will track well enough and I won’t get hung up as much
Yea maybe so. I just like the straight tracking to much to take it off.
This looks very nice and secluded! But the snakes and gators🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔 I love paddling in rivers and springs
It is secluded. Yea, got to deal with them critters....
I definitely respect the critters and their space! Do you know if any of the down trees will be removed or cleared out of the way?
Great video Trip. Lots of wildlife. Were those snakes bad ones?
Thanks Sally! Ummmm, I don't know about the little one or the big one. Didn't get a good enough look to be sure but I don't think the little one was poisonous.
Just a suggestion to do some riding around Charleston and the diversion canal and the Santee cooper lakes in South Carolina, it’s a fun adventure to me.
Might have to look into it one day. Thanks!
Pretty frick'n cool creek .
Oh yea ;)
An E-Bike would be the ticket for that ride.
Probably would have been nice!
That quick release for the front wheel should be tucked up next to the fork and pointed slightly backwards to prevent it from catching something and having your wheel fall off on ya.
Hey a coozy!!! Lmao
Haha! Always having fun!
never ever missed a leg day, never
My legs are sore right now ;) They are just chicken legs.....
bears & coyote down in there. Lived there
Cool!
