If you wait this long and only air your grievances publicly when it suits you politically, I no longer see you neutrally. No criminal complaint was ever filed, even now…
Not true. The timing was obviously because of the SCOTUS confirmation hearing. Not a criminal complaint at all. She came forward as a character witness because of the nomination, not as a criminal complainant. Very different from the Weinstein allegations, for example, which were in fact criminal complaints and resulted in criminal charges. There the years elapsed should reduce believeability and constitute reasonable doubt.
The fact that any woman can decide to tarnish a man’s reputation and potentially get him prosecuted with ZERO evidence for political or personal reasons is outrageous. That this absurd, obviously politically motivated case was taken so seriously and that Kavanagh was subjected to such humiliating persecution is a real indictment of our feminist-infected “justice” system - a disgrace. As always, an incisive and eloquent analysis from the brilliantly rational and fair-minded Janice Fiamengo!
Not long ago, in San Francisco, I was in the jury pool for an SA criminal trial. During voir dire, I asked to be allowed to speak. I faced the ADA and informed him that I did not regard testimony by the alleged victim, or by anyone she had known prior to the alleged crime, as evidence because it was of dubious credibility. (Assessing witness credibility is part of the duty of jurors.) I then stated that if the prosecution did not have corroborating evidence that would establish guilt beyond a reasonable doubt, I would not vote to convict, no matter how many sad tales were spun by teary-eyed ‘witnesses’. The stony faces of the ADA and the judge did not impress me, and I was excused.
I'm working on a book at present, have been for a long time: 'society has changed in my lifetime, with control of censorship passing from God's prudes to the Devil's prudes'.
Recently I spoke with a woman who claimed we are a "rape culture." Asking her to justify that, I could hardly believe my ears. She explained that once her boyfriend talked her into sex. No duress, no threats, he just talked at her until her no turned into a yes. She felt terrible and violated days later so she went to the police to file a rape complaint. The officer, hearing that she admitted that she consented, of course did not file a report. Essentially this batshit lady felt that even "yes" means "no" based on her feelings later. The failure of the police officer to file a rape report was her proof we are a "rape culture." Insane.
It took 37 years for it to become an issue for her, she could have made the allegation years earlier, I guess she was triggered to see him in the public spotlight.
Thank you, Janice, 1000 times thank you. You are a true woman and heroine.
At 15, she had no business being there, full stop.

Exactly, when you view it via the political lense

Especially while pushing for total anonymity for accuser to avoid 'victimization'.

Another great video about the Kavanaugh case.
I doubt the Ford "walked" home, because then she would be guilty of drunk driving.

They should close every women's prison if they are beyond reproach.
