@r8chlletters I doubt it. The men met through a website -- not even on the dark web, open to anyone -- that was specifically for men with rape fantasies that they'd nurtured for years. That's what they talked about on the site, and Dominique chose his wife's rapists from those men. Could be that a few of them backed off when they saw Gisele and were smacked with the reality of what they were about to do, but I imagine there weren't many. I study ethics and conscience, so this case doesn't really surprise me. I know too much about what (mostly) men can do and have done. But that understanding is in my head. In my body, my gut, my soul, I don't understand how men can do such nearly unspeakable things. Mme Pelicot is a genuine hero. Her grit and poise astonish me more than the assaults.

But this would have made the trial much more expensive and the french ministry of justice did not grant them the necessary funds. This is quite ironic considering that the defense of women was supposed to be one of the main causes of the presidency of Emmanuel Macron
