- Is your Ark Ascended Server experiencing an error and in a constant restart loop, restarting over and over again. Most likely the problem is with a common file that is corrupt. Fixing it is easy with the step-by-step guide in the video.

I didn’t even do a single thing and my server started restarting loop. I’m so over it . Tried this and nothing helped.
Get on discord and ask around for thoughts, Nitrado's and others. I'm not an expert, just experienced this issue myself and wasn't waiting on NItrado to fix it.

do you know why i have about 14-15 arktribe and tribeark files when you only have 1 set of them? most of them are the same filesize, but a couple of them are slightly different

It was a little challenge sifting through all the different sets of tribe files cuz im running a server with a good amount of people one.
Unfortunately ive had this problem rear its ugly head multiple times in last couple days so i hope its not a recurring issue

not sure what causes these loops, but i have had them happen every week since the release on PS5, never ran into this with g portal
Loops have been rare for us but not happy with Nitrado at all.
G portal was just better
I have a constant restarting/updating loop and after awhile it brought up a note saying That the most recent update for ASA is being deployed so I should consider that my service maybe not be available while they update. Then says that i should restart my server if it hasnt updated and i have idk if the servers are down or this update is massive lol
Our server was put into a restart loop because of a corruption with the main save file. That is because Nitrado forced a shutdown and update for ALL servers on their network at the same time. Whether you wanted the update or not. Nitrado sucks.

My server keeps restarting and "updating"? and restarting and "updating" over and over.
Is this the same problem? because i tried to use your fix but to no avil.
Could be other corruption or a failed update. Give it time to resolve, if still looping after 30 minutes contact support or look for other corrupt files.
Yeah I’m having the EXACT same problem. I feel like I’ve tried everything at this point. However, when I look at my log files, it says, “ERROR!!! (Some random words): SQL database is corrupt and the save game is compromised! Exiting…”
Have any idea at all what that may mean? P.s.: that was in the ShooterGame.log

it went back 1 day irl and was fine.

My files are the exact same but my sever is stuck in a restart loop?
They are both 15.6 mb? Does that mean there is an issue somewhere else or is it a possibility that is this issue?

The corruption could be with either file or somewhere else. Alternating between the files may offer a resolution. Apologies for the delayed response.

Keep going into the directory structure.
I just found out that sometimes when the server crashes it adds an auto restart every 2min task. Check ur automated tasks if the files have no corruption

Never had and issue when I first started my server, but for the past week since the latest update my server keeps restarting 10 time in a row before stopping itself completely.
Someone commented that after an update or crash a task to restart the server every 2 min can be added. I have not confirmed this.
What if there is like 30 .arktribe and .tribebak files back to back on log? No big number difference, tho. Server has been down over a week

I have multiple people playing in different tribes on the server (not sure if this causes multiple tribe/tribebak files or not) but I actually have 3 of the arktribe files. 1 set are 40kb, 1 set is 20kb, and 1 set is 7kb. I'm assuming the set with only 7kb is the issue, but not completely sure. Any idea if this is true or not? I also am not sure I explained that in a understanding way or not, lol.
As long as the pair in the set of arktribe/tribebak files are similar in size this is not likely the issue. Arktribe file sizes will vary depending on the amount of people, structures and creatures in the tribes. Your looking for the difference in file size between the files in the set. So if any of your arktribe files are significantly smaller or larger than the paired tribebak file that will be the problem. If they aren't different in size there can still be a corruption but you won't know which one it is, and it could be that there is none. If you backed up your files you can simply replace all the arktribe files with the tribebak files and see if that resolves the issue. Likely the issue is elsewhere though.
@@sgtsylver I see now. I misunderstood the instructions, but I did figure out the issue I was having was just that the ark servers as a whole were down yesterday for roughly a hour (go figure) but regardless, thank you for the video!
In most cases, the restart loop is caused by a corrupt savegame, corrupt / incompatible modifications or incorrect settings.
In this case, we would advise you to undo recent changes to the server and then check the issue again, in most cases the server will then be available again correctly.
If no changes have been made to the server recently, then in most cases the save game is corrupt - in this case we recommend restoring a backup of the server from a point in time when it was still functioning correctly.
We have found a bug in our Web interface that does not load correctly the backups from the restore Backup section.
DO NOT USE THE RESTORE BACKUP panel
Start it from your General settings, by following these steps:
Stop your server
Go to General Settings
Look for the section [ Start with backup ]
Choose the backup file you'll like to start with
Click on the button [ Save changes ]
Start your server.

I wish we could figure out *why* the restart loop happens to begin with. Could it only be mod-related? We only just started getting the restart loop after adding a few mods at the end of an already pretty extensive mod list. Before we had no hiccups, now the restart loop from hell just won't quit. I'm happy to remove the mods, but in my search to find anything at all to help us get our server back to health, just removing the last most recent mods didn't fix the loop. I did try your fix, but no go, so I'm only going to assume it's the mods.
It's the new installed mods I had to restore a server backup. For some reason the server removes the mods ID or adds to it and causes a crash after restart.
Removing mods and restoring a server backup sometimes resolves restart loop issues.

The leading cause is a corrupt save file. Stop the server, rename the current save file and restore from an older backup. See if that resolves the issue.
I have no ark tribe file... constant server loop and wont let me hard start

My server has restarted 3 damn times. Then it says it's running. Then I log on. Then it restarts again. Each restarting period is like 10 min each time. What the HELL?????
Sounds like a mod issue.
I appreciate this video and tried this unfortunately for me this was not the case and had to contact Nitrado and haven't heard back from them yet.... but again thanks for the video...

@@Acedude227 the server itself came back online but couldn't make any changes at all or else it shuts itself down and won't come back up at all, unless I set it back to the original settings...

There’s a lot of arktribe and arkbak files… a lot are the same but then a lot are different, any help?
Each tribe has its own set of arktribe and bak files.
Hey, I have 2 tribebak files with no corresponding tribeark files, could this be an issue or is it usually the tribeark files only?
Odd not to have the .ark files. If it doesn't present with problems I'd just roll with it. Maybe make a backup of those files just in case.
What if my profilebak and arkprofile file are different in size by almost half?
Most likely one is corrupt and it could be either.
I have this issue, except my tribebak file is the problem file. Can i do this same process to that file?
I'm not sure having a corrupt bak file would be problematic as the solution would be to just delete it. But try renaming it first just in case.
Would there ever be a reason to do this for the arkprofile? I have some arkprofile that are a good bit bigger than the profilebak and there's been a few odd things happening

Hmm. You probably need them all but the bak files are there to restore files that are corrupt or deleted. As long as the bak files aren't corrupt themselves.
When you say back up your files, what do you mean? How do I do this?
Make copies of the files and save them elsewhere. If you are using a Nitrado server just use an FTP client to connect and download your files. There are plenty of other resources to teach you how to use FTP.

I don't know how that could be. Maybe you're not in the correct directory.
Doesn't work for me and nitrado isn't helping I really hope i can use g portal again in the near future nitrado is just bad!

So, I have 4 ark tribe files all in different sizes and 1 of the 4 is the same size as my ark tribe could that be an issue you think?

If you are sure that all bak files are for a single tribe.ark file then you should rename all of the oldest bak files so they won't be referenced by the server, rename your tribe.ark file and rename the newest bak file as your tribe.ark and see if that corrects it. If not, cycle through each subsequent bak file, renaming to tribe.ark until the issue is resolved. If the issue gets resolved.

That is typical of mods or insufficient memory and CPU. Are you trying to load mods?
Yep i have mods although what causes it to suddendly happen cuz it was working for like 2 weeks and then it wasnt booting yesterday@@sgtsylver

Every tribe gets its own arktribe file and backup. Restart loops recently are typically mod related and are sometimes resolved by restoring a server game backup file.
I have 2 Tribebak files.
1 Arktribe file.
Arktribe file is 22.85 KiB

And the other Tribebak is 1022 Bytes

If the pairs are the same size than the chances you have a corruption in those files is very small but not impossible.
@@sgtsylver Ah the mistake was wildcard again, cuz they fkd up their ps5 update or something and thats why all unnofficial were loop restarting today.

Mods are the #1 cause of restart like that. You are interacting or loading something mod related and it crashes the server.

There is a tribe file and bak file for every tribe on the server, that is why the numbers are different.
@@sgtsylver no I meant there was 4 of the normal ones and bak ones😭 and each one had a very different number.

FTP is like copy and pasting, but using a separate program/application called an FTP client like Filezilla. This communicates with your game server using the credentials provided by your host and allows you to copy files directly to your own computer. This allows you to keep a separate backup or move the files to a different host to keep playing.

Someone said there was a task to restart every 2 min created on their server. I haven't confirmed this but you could give it a look.

I actually ended up having to reinstall my entire server bc I did nothing and can't figure out what's wrong I was using mods assuming it was those I'm just gonna go modless bc there nice not necessary tho
Mods can really add issues, especially if they aren't from an experienced modder.
@@sgtsylver I actually couldn't get the server to work again I restarted the whole server uninstalled every mod and the server and everything multiple times I even tried to contact the support only to find it's nearly impossible gave up and will never buy another server or support asa until this absolutely atrocious bug is fixed

My server restarted and I lost all my clothes I had equipped. I am beyond fucking pissed right now.
Nitrado forced an update for their entire network, whether you were online or not, whether you wanted it or not.
@sgtsylver they forced a restart for their entire network with out warning and forced restart my server for 5 hours straight this morning?
@teamtojoin ah I see. Yeah this morning the server was restarting non stop and I couldn't even stop it. When it finally came back online it reverted to an earlier save and I lost about 7 hours of progress. Pretty disappointing.
