@Motivational.mindset69 I'm not wasting 12hrs of my life raising a giga bro that's just for it to eat alone call it what you want I'm not "surviving" by watching a bar go up over 7 days and taking shifts like it's a job
I quit official a long time ago. It was way too toxic and filled with people that play 24/7 all year. Better off just playing unofficial or single player. It's still sad to see people think official is the only way to play the game.
You're not wrong about anything you said! However as an Official PVE player, i cant speak for everyone, but I get gratification of accomplishment if i can tame, breed, and beat bosses the hardest way possible. I feel like it makes your base/dinosaurs feel so much more meaningful :)
Ya same I usually dont play hard mode on other games but something about playing boosted rates on ark feels like cheating and its not nearly as satisfying to tame, build, breed, etc. compared to official rates
Official PVE is my preference as well. It just requires some etiquette and patience with toxic players. But trading and grouping up with complete strangers for boss fights has been my favorite thing in ark.
I think this video is more about pvp. I also prefer official pve as you get the satisfaction of reaching end game instead of having the option to spawn in anything in single player/ boosters for unofficial
When ASE came out and server transfers were not implemented yet, playing on official was great. Everybody knew each other, it was a microcosmos of its own and although PvP was possible, all the tribes stuck together and only went against the (back then) rare griefers. This totally changed once servertransfers were added - the toxicity swept over The Island like a wave of phiomiapoop... since then I never played official again and spent thousands of hours happily on different private servers.
so glad to hear this from someone else, i played on 683 center back in the day and the community was amazing, then they added transfers and every big tribe that was keeping our server protected from griefs got raided, they had the upper hand before because they ran things, it was official but they owned it cuz nobody could raid. Ark was never the same after transfers
Server transfers were a massive mistake. They just favor the attacking parties, because their only stakes are the dinos that they send in, wheras the defenders stand to (and typically will) lose everything. Closed off communities sort of policed themselves and had an organically emerging diplomacy. It is often argued that server transfers were necessary to prevent tyrannical alphas, who ruled their servers with an iron fist. But instead server transfers only allowed the tyranny to spread.
So I agree with most of what you stated. However, as another person who has other real life requirements that limit my play time, I enjoy the official PVE side of the game and here’s why 1. With it being official I have the rest of the official community to trade with. Whether it be stats, color regions, or boss fights, some of the good friends I have made have been from the trading aspect you have on official. 2. You did mention finding a “good unofficial server”. That to me is the biggest hurdle. Putting weeks or months into a server for personality issues that can reset you at 0, or the server not receiving enough funding from players causing the server to shut down is just something I have dealt with and don’t feel like dealing with again.
I love unofficial PVE. It's more like a community. Most have certain settings turned up so the game is not such a grind and you can be having more fun, whether your into breeding, fighting or building. A good unofficial also have great admins as arguments, trolls, pillering etc still happen, but they can be dealt with quickly. It's fun doing stuff together, sometimes with total strangers from all around the world. Us older long termers helping newbies to the game so they enjoy ark instead of quitting and never playing again.
Just 3 days ago we got the locals to take down a 135 alpha Rex together. We all had Argys and we all attacked it together and defeated it. That 15 mins of fighting was so fun that we agreed to do brood mother together and megapithacus together in the future.
I totally agree with you. I have been playing ARK the first day ASE came out and when single player came out I left and never looked back. I still remember looking for an Official server and spawned in inside a metal box that I could not get out of. There was even a sign inside the box telling me, and anyone else who spawned in the box to get the F off their server. I never played on offical again.
I had that happen on PvE and I went scorched earth on that Tribe. Reported them and then blasted them in the chat. Got karma a while later when, due to their poor choices and getting Ark’d they needed help getting back on their feet. Reminded them of their spawn locking box and told them to pound sand.
%100 luckily I have a group who can deal with all the toxicity. Been on officials for years. But everything he said is facts and officials is not a good idea for casual players.
Alright, Let me clarify something as well. If Ark somehow finds a way to get rid of some of the toxic stuff like ini, spawn camping, and other crap.... I think Ark Official COULD make a massive comback.... Thoughts?!? (Also, this video is 11:11 on accident.... Thats kinda cool!!!! )
Hands down meshing is the worst issue with Ark pvp official. Insiding is the next worst issue, but there isn't a punishment incentive for that kind of behavior in Ark. If they could 100% fix meshing and everyone had to raid fairly. Would be so much better.
As a 31000 hour player official will not make a come back the coding is all the same and cheats will live forever right now you can reserve your spot for ark 2 aimbot
Also on top of that there’s meshing they system in play does not stop anything just the people who know how to do it haven’t released it yet and prob won’t same with duping you can still show right now and you could say oh the devs will catch you that’s also false I will not explain how it’s done just know they will not fix it
The thing I felt on the offical PVE servers was a stong sense of commuity amongst most of the players on there, we made some really good friends over the years we played and it was always nice that most players on our servers stuck together and helped each other. When we joined unofficial servers we mostly felt like outcasts just because we were more experienced and more used to "the grind". It seemed like you always needed permission to build somewhere or do something. When we achieved something, there was always someone who was friends with/payed an admin just to get something better (dinos, bps, element, etc). For the foundation part I understand that 100% but we also used to pillar an area around our base just to have some space to the next base and we used to pillar important resources because many people would build a farming base on top of them therefor blocking most of the resources. On PVP I have to totally agree. When we started ark we joined a friends offical PVP tribe and it was a toxic experience.
i agree one of the biggest reasons i stopped playing official is because of ridiculous amount of pillars that prevent you from building or even accessing places. They need to give an allotted amount of build space and thats it. I 100% agree you in this video.
When I first started playing ASE about 2 years ago I immediately saw how toxic official servers are. I was just trying to play on a PVE server, but as you described players had planted pillars all over the map so nobody else could build. This was on a fairly new server too but players had already done this.
We had something similar happen to us. Found us a little spot to build up and then proceeded as normal. Then all of his stuff despawned and our group swooped in and claimed their main base area.
The reason you saw so many pillars was because it was a "fairly" new server. You will see this even today as, more so on Pve cause people want to build really big and need the land to do so.. but it takes time so you plot out the land you need using pillars.. Now, if someone did this and didn't start on building then it can be reported and wildcard will give the tribe owner 24 hours to fix it or they will wipe it all.
@GAHJIE I understand what you are saying, but this wasn't someone just planning ahead. I literally could not find a single spot on the map where I could build. I didn't check the entire map but I did spend a good amount of time and covered a lot of ground but just couldn't find anyplace where I was able to build. After that experience I just decided I would either just play solo or on a private aerver.
@@jgrdgon like i said, if you know the person isn't building in the area that is pillared, then you can summit a ticket to wildcard and they will wipe all of the tribes structures.. So if you find a map that has a area you want to build in that's just pillars.. start building in a different area close by and report them. When wildcard comes to remove the spam you can take it over for yourself. Takes time but I rather that then a private server that the owner could shut down at any time.
foundation spam is so easy solveable..... 1. if you dont stick together enough building parts (lets say 48 at minimum -> 4x4 house with walls and ceilings) you simply will get a 24 hour decaytimer 2. timer only refreshes if you add something to the building - reloggin is not enough 3. with increasing pieces, the landclaim bubble and decay timeer increases from super tiny to mediocre and finaly to the maximum. So, if pillars dont give you the bubble you want and the convenience is gone to keep that stuff up, it will not happen any longer or at least become way less common.
So what about the people that don't build big boxes I've built tons of bases under 48 pieces so screw all the small based? And I've also done plenty of this on pve not just hidden pvp bases on pve I'm a simple man who will just have a small box or open lay out which rarely is more then 48 structures snapped together
Totally agree although i still play official pve in my spare time. Mainly because my friends do. But yes you can’t go down a beach that isn’t pillared. People get god complex and don’t want anyone to build anywhere near them (which i get because of rendering issues) but some people totally pillar off huge areas because they have think they own areas of the map or control the resources of the map 🙄
That's the biggest frustration for me. Every server I've had to try, is pillared. If I find a spot, build on it and have to log out of the game, when I return, pillars are stopping me from continuing to build. That forces me to move what I built or find another server. I'm never going to progress. It's not possible. The toxicity is beyond ridiculous.
Completely agree, thanks for summing it up so clearly. I played on Unofficial for most of my Ark time and it was great because if anyone ever did pillar spam or harassing, they were gone. It was there for us all to enjoy. We all shared the server with respect. That's the way it should be.
I’ve been playing single player for pretty much my entire time on ark besides a few times me and some buddies got our own server felt like I was always missing part of the game so decided to try some pve servers yesterday and couldn’t even find a decent place to start maybe a small base because there was foundations and pillars literally everywhere so I think I’m gonna stick with my solo where I can have all the mods I want
Official isn't for everyone, probably not even most people but it does offer more of a challenge which can especially be welcome for PVE players, and it draws out the journey of building up (best part about the game imo) so that you don't just rush to the end game in a few hours. In PVP its different because its more of a race to the endgame and so the disadvantage of falling behind is a lot more detrimental. Toxic players can also be a lot more of a problem on officials too because WC doesn't just ban them like a server admin can, but usually the majority of the server will be against them until they eventually leave.
Yeah because pvping in a pvp game is bannable? Lmfao get banned by clowns because I kill someone's dinosaur? No thx. Official I cn do anything if I get wiped oh well I get to build up again
There is nothing that is more challenging on official pve as opposed to single player with official settings or an unofficial server with official settings EXCEPT the behaviour of other players who have no moderation ...and the lag.
@@p3wp3wCthulhu the bosses on official have higher hp than bosses on single player with official settings turned on lmfao, official settings isn't actually official settings
If the raiding was like Conan and there were raid times at weekend this game would appeal to so many more people Too hard/long to grind too quick to loose everything- and to often you won’t even be online when you get wiped
I'm not sure if they have them for ASA but on ASE they had official servers with ORP (offline Raid Protection). I think you would enjoy these types of servers.
I’ve been watching your videos for some time now and have been subscribed for awhile. But I haven’t commented until now. I could not agree with you more. Every word from your mouth is truth. Thank you for your videos teach, love them all. Good luck on your 100k, you deserve it!
its the challenge if extreme revenge... the adrenaline of losing your best raised tames when your fighting. the sentimental loss the game can provide make official pvp the most intense wins and losses ive ever experienced in a game. its not for everyone but I would never take the year and half I have on ark back! and im exited to do it all again on asa!
What's up👋, I was thinking about playing this game but before I did, I happened to stumble upon your video, and big shout out to you because it was very informative. You actually helped me decide if I'll play it or not...and if I do, I know the exact way to go. Preciate'cha😂
depends... if you are looking for a fun chill experience then yeah, stay away from offi. but if you want a challenge like no other then hop on offi. its no different from a competitive fps, theres the tryhard offi/ranked and the chill pve, singleplayer/casual. personally i play ark for that excitement, for the grueling pvp, the week long raids, the camaraderie, etc etc. i have made friends through ark pvp that im closer to than some of my irl friends saying one is bad and you should NEVER TOUCH IT N BLAA BLAA is just being simple minded. you prefer single player and a chill experience, and others prefer the grueling difficulty. ngl this video just seems like ragebait, the argument you are making is essentially "board games are better then console games"... PvP, PvE n Singleplayer are all their own games and cant really be compared with each other, sure they use the same building blocks but everything else is different
I've played ASE and love playing survival crafting games (Valheim, enshrouded etc) so I pretty much know how it works. I started ASA pretty late (3 weeks ago) and immediately started on official PVE scorched earth (with one friend). I'm lucky enough to play in a server that isn't as toxic as most would think. Pillar spamming is still there, but some tribes would remove them if you ask nicely. So far no caves were blocked. So eventually i found a large enough space to build my base, but still i have to build vertically which is okay. It's fun to see tribes helping each other out in there, but since I'm pretty new in the server, they didnt really help me (and not replying my chats) and me n my friend were kinda feel left out a bit lol. But shoutout to the New Alcatraz tribe for helping us on the first day😁 I just hope the others were more friendly bcs we do play the game properly and would love to be part of the (server) community.
I completely agree with everything you said but I will be playing official pve, the thing I enjoy about official is connecting with people from across multiple servers and I get more satisfaction from official, however I will also be playing unofficial and single player too. But would never play PVP official because they are indeed far too toxic
@@FATMAC2 ngl bro im one of those people who pillar lol, you literally have to or youre eventually going to be confined to some 2 by 2 foundation base on the beach. Imo official PVE is better if ur able to claim ur spot lol plus they dont wipe and ruin all ur progress like unofficial
Pve is garbage tho, ppl block note runs as well they Blick spots off like caves and you cannot even get in because pve, you can't blow ppl stuff up😂😂 maysel just pvp bri
@@jazduh1235so you wanna be a map blocker without ppl being able to fight back, pve is trash because of this lolol, Noone can wipe buildings to get at stuff artifacts n notes blocked, drops blocked what's the point
Great advice to the average player. I played officials from 2016 to 2019 and though I had some great times I lost 3 yrs of my real life. I constantly have friends ask why I dont play officials anymore and I explain to them everything that you mention right here. Sacrificing your Mental health is not worth it in a video game and 80% of supposedly Hard Core individuals that do play officials PVP are suffering from paranoia or other mental illnesses caused from the toxicity of the current games environment/community. I have friends, close friends that I would never have met If it wasn't for Ark and I love it when we get on the PSN party chat in a random Call of Duty lobby and start talking about old raid memories like we're sitting around a camp fire and other ppl in the chat would never understand. Nowadays I'm 30 yrs old have a real job and a family and I am perfectly content playing in my best friends small private server.
I like to enjoy the pvp aspect of the game as without it I feel the game has a short endgame ceiling, unofficial has it's fair share of issues too with admin abuse and uncertainty of the servers staying up and retaining a healthy amount of players to interact with as I lose motivation on the game when there is little to no players to have fun with. Experience I had on unofficial was the community on a server would die off completely after 2 weeks to 1month. Starting again on a new server after just getting well setup playing casually while managing a full time job can be really tiring and demotivating.
Yeah, I figured Official would be taxic. Just wait until other maps come out. They will move on. I 100% agree with you on the PVE thing. I don't understand why people can't just play together.
GCM was on for a couple hours and they wiped the servers and reset them all. But there were numerous dupe bugs, one where crafting stations didnt consume resources and one where you could dupe with a bee hive. Dont get me wrong it was a clusterfuck launch but get it right.
Interesting how he would never respond to this but half of it is wrong or blow to higher proportions and with him complaining about ini I'm pretty sure he did a video of the commands for it so he'll complain about it but happily still profit views for it producing that content directly on the thing he's hating on
I agree with what you're saying but I still prefer officials. It's not for everyone. I like the thrill of pvp and politics involved in surviving. It's like a zombie apocalypse where zombies aren't the real threat, people are. Dinos aren't the threat, people are. You have to out smart them in pvp or politically through trading/alliances etc. It's a super toxic environment but something about it is also thrilling and you can't get that in pve or single player.
Also while there is a lot of toxicity in official pvp there are a lot of people that are nice. You won't find it as much on regular official cause mega tribes. But pre mega tribes and on small tribes there are plenty of nice people and tribes you can interact with. On my server on ASE we would actively supply noobs and bobs with tames and structures. Most unofficial servers also aren't as welcoming as they seem. You get a fair amount of favorites or pay to win or admins just banning you attacked them.
Problem is there's not really good options for unofficial PvP. All the unofficial PvP servers die in one month, always have a big risk of admin abuse, all get tempted into making the rates 20x or something ridiculous, etc. MTS is the only option but that's even sweatier than official servers. Less cheats at least to be fair though.
This is partly true, but finding a good server that has good pop for over a week isnt that hard. The rates are often high but that is probably because people actually like that and lower rates are not a necessity for a good experience.
@@edvinkandenas348 yes, but you dont understand this. Theres way more people enjoying lower rates than higher ones. And exactly that is why they play official. Unofficial is simply ark on easy mode for a lot of people and its less rewarding for them. So most play official as the servers dont die off in a week due to how easy and unrewarding they are. The reason why official(but also games like league, dead by daylight, valorant or a lot of other shooters etc) are so popular is because that they dont pump their players full with rewards over nothing like a lot of unofficial servers in ark do. Sadly the part that makes people addicted to a game is quite literally the annoying, painful sht they go through to reach a goal. Most Unofficial servers only work for big casuals and people that arent a fan of grinding (and therefore quit after a week) Also these official servers are more toxic bc, well, grinding is annoying and makes white men with no impulse control salty (and because those grinding servers have more people that play more consistently on them)
Official is the way to go for pve cause of the trading scene and where all the real dino breeding goes down. Another thing about unofficial is all the mods and boosted rates are easy mode and the game get boring pretty fast cause you can have and do everything to fast. Also your problem is you look at it from a pvp pov. Pvp is always where the most toxic people will be. Imo ark pvp kinda sucks, why would you want to spend so much time breeding dinos for certain stats and colors, building a base and all the other grindy stuff ark offers only to have it killed/wiped and all the time out the window and have to watch your back 24/7 then after all of that you just get raided while your offline. No thanks on that.
@TeachersGameToo to be fair I've been told the same thing about having to be toxic, or having to join a mega tribe. On ASE official I formed a pretty wholesome tribe that only grew and grew and we became an alpha tribe on our server. We were good to everyone except for those raided off server lol. We were the most toxic to each other (in party jokes 😭). We helped many people in the game. And manage to get the platinum in official PVp. We all welcome the challenge.
PvE spam is mainly to block people from killing dino and resource spawns. Nothing worse than going to a resource location just to see someone has built there and killed the spawn. Granted some people go ott with it.
He's blatantly ignoring fact, using a few personal experiences as examples, demonizing a huge park of ark community for his own goal of views, it's wild, and he refuses to elaborate or actually debate this topic.
This videos is extremely based, after finding what unofficial servers were I never went back. And for a solo player a little multiplier (2x-5x) helps alot to try and catch up to what a large group of people would be able to get up to.
As much as I 100% agree with you after 5 years on official- I kinda miss the ark experience- btw you can play official and not be toxic yourself but it is deffo a full time job
As a PvE player, I enjoy Official. I still have my "day 1" tames and base location(s) from release. It is satisfying to be able to see all of my tribes progression, literally from day 1, no wipes or server deaths. For PvP I 100% agree that unofficial is the best route though.
I never actually tried official PvE but I would love to because singleplayer gets lonely sometimes and I wanna see people and other stuff but what I've heard is that even in PvE people can drown you or destroy your stuff. Is it like that?
@@jacfruit3843 I’m not saying it doesn’t happen, I’ve never seen it or experienced it on any of my servers. It’s possible to kite a wild giga to anyone’s base if you wanted to, you can also drag bodies so the drowning thing is possible but like I said I’ve never experienced it.
@@HillbillySnake Thank you for the answer. Maybe I give it a shot and try not to grind the shit out of me so I wouldn't get sad if someone destroys it 😂 ty

@@notquitelikebro Ty for that tip! I tried to play on officials yesterday but after a few servers and 5 hours not finding any place to put down anything because of pillars/foundations everywhere (even in the snow biome), I gave up playing on officials. :/ That was insane.
Official servers in Ark are the single-most toxic gaming experience I've ever had, ngl. But I just can't do unofficials, for a variety of reasons: You never know when the host is going to shut down the server. Lots of server admins cheat or show gross favoritism. Lots of servers reset periodically (the seasons you mentioned), which makes progression feel kind of pointless when you're just going to wipe everything every other month. I'm not, personally, a fan of 99% of the mods. And 1000x rates make the game boring and completely pointless. At the same time, I've just never had a ton of fun playing single player, either (it gets too lonely after a while!). So, I suffer the toxicity and cherish what fun I end up having on officials. You make really good points, though! Love your videos, keep up the great content!
The best official experience, IMO, were on the 'beginner' servers, where the level was capped at 44 and if you wanted to get to 49, you had to chibi your way there. The servers wiped every couple of months. You had a mix of noobs just starting and experienced players looking for a different experience. Sure, there was some pillar spamming but you could work around it and find actual helpful people to play around and play with. There were plenty of other official PVE servers where the community was actually welcoming and helpful, but that was possible because there were so many maps, so much space and auto-decay as people found other games to play. ASA is a looooong way from that experience!
You are 100% correct on everything you said ...I play on official my mind set is as long as I don't see you messing with me I won't touch you ....granted I am in a M.T. But I enjoy the strategic chaos planning of it being from the military ..
Official is the only way to truly enjoy the game, with all the extra boosted/modded unofficial servers, you getting bored so fast everything is too easy
I get it for pvp no one really wants to spend hours a day building up from wood to stone just to get offline raided and do the same thing tomorrow, but for pve official is definitely the best way to go.
@@AaronJohnson-dd3opunofficial is also for people with a lot of real life responsibilities, friends, families, children, or things to do in their day to day lives.
I remember on ASE, we were on an official server, I had never played on it, my friend had for 3 days. There were only 10 people online rn, and one was like: Ey, where do you live, I can help u. I was questioning it, but my Teammate trusted the guy, so we told him our coords. Then he came with a like lvl 1k giga and destroyed our entire base. My friend asked him why he did it and he said: You have to give my tribe 33% of your resources each week, or I'll raid you! It was our "first" day. That is when I stopped playing official.
I love stuff like this bc like good luck to him finding my hidden base in some stonecrack, its so thrilling. Ironically stuff like this is why i play official. But i get that thats not for every1, especially not when they play for the first time
Official means it's a bad in life. I want to know more about what is better in Ark. Then the negative cause official is negative.🎉 There are more better things than ark Like enjoying the game for what it's made for. The game was made for PVE to enjoy life with Dinosaurs, not the opposite.🎉
I played official pve on ASE and you are right….. sort of. I started with the island and looked for a place to build even a small camp so I could cook and sleep. I starved to death before I found any where I could build. There were either huge bases or foundations/pillars preventing any new builds. I tried several servers and after moving to crystal isles I finally found a pve server that not only could I build, but all the players were super helpful and friendly. So good servers exist unfortunately it may take a bit of digging to find them.
2000H on official Ark Servrs (pve)solo or 2- 3 man some times. Boss kills, trade, kind people.and its free. So Just a simple NO. Stupid people exist everywhere. 🎉 so dont listen to this Video. 😂And no its Not true on every Server 😂😂. OMG 😂😂
Also makes a big difference when you're playing 6 years into the games lifespan and there's barely any players vs the launch of the new game. If you don't think most things are pillared off or "claimed" on current PVE servers you're lost.
Honestly I’ve played a bit of official pvp on evolved but I played single player/unofficial for ever and on unofficial all I got was bad admins, no players and a server eventually dying. On single player I got everything I could have wanted but it was so lonely. I came to official bc I can no longer play the game alone, and unofficial is not stable enough. Official has a lot of bada but I like the stability and constant amount of people playing it. It had lots of pros and if u plan on playing ark ALOT, I recommend official, but I don’t recommend for average casual players due to longevity of things in game
I tried over years to run solo on official server. I was able to run some bosses but i couldnt run them all over the past 6years. Sounds crazy to not complete a game after all these years. But i love to have this goal
i totally agree i think there should be land claim blocks to stop people putting down founds everywhere, but as far as private servers as you said nitrado are terrible so ark then becomes a single player game.
I love this video, it raises a great discussion. I’ve only played official pve. Imo there are servers that are very toxic and others where we treat everyone like a team/family. For instance, ive started characters on 3 NA servers so far since Asa release. Of the 3, i found the most toxic server ever. It’s the 8th real day on this server and every tribe has been arguing for a solid 3 hours😂😂😂
An update on what is really happening on official currently. NA official servers are toxic and overpopulated. 70/70 people online for most NA servers. Wildcard has not released enough NA servers. Can’t play on NA servers, so i play OC severs. I can log on but the OC ping rate is horrible bc im in NA. Sooooo, NA severs mean toxic and popular. Any other server like OC, Asia… means high pingrate but less people and less NA toxic nonsense.
People learned not to play official servers for 8 years on Ark Survival Evolved to the tune of tens of thousands of unofficial servers vs the 1400 or so that existed when officials were live. Time and time again people on the forums and discord would discourage people form playing officials and even the devs recommended people play on unofficial servers (the sponsored mods program the devs made needed people to play mods to be relevant and 7-12 of the dlcs were from mods originally on ASE). It is nice to see someone making a video that addresses this.
I played official for about a year and when I found a legit tribe it was fun..... for a while. But then came the meshers, the god mode'rs, and the mega tribes who will raid you for days none stop and roll back servers when they lose anything.
Facts man even if you discounted snail games vs island boys or the toxicity hackers meshers and basic trolls the game is still just borked for builders farmers and you are litterally just farming for the raiders! Not worth your time on official full stop!
I suppose all of that is true about PvP games, but most of it wouldn't make sense for PvE. What I don't like about official servers in PvE games is lag kills, and Alpha Dinosaur traps that somehow prevent escape even with a flyer. In ARK SA they have a resurrection option, and no doubt a lot of players know how to use the process to get around "cheat kills", but I don't. I have also noticed it has to be done within 24 hours.
Teach, I'm just going to interject by saying that Ark is one of those games that has something for everybody. Whether a large portion of the community prefers unofficial or solo, that doesn't stop every single official server from filling up and staying full to the point of queues, and people aggressively foundation spamming areas of the map so that they don't get cut off or built on top of. There's value in official, that's why you see people selling land on FB, or people selling tames. Everything on official takes work, it's exactly that. Ark official is not a casual experience, no matter how bad you may want it to be. Official is slow, it takes work. All of which creates a recipe for competition. People get mad when they join official and see that the beaches are pillared and foundation spammed, but what they don't realize is a simple counter/bypass to that is simply taming a pteranodon and flying to more central locations of the map. Literally you can leave the beach and find countless build locations. Just don't join an official server that's been active 170+ days and assume that you're going to have first pick of where you want to build. I've been playing for about 200 hours on official and while nitrado servers are dogshit, it's still the same Ark experience I've always loved. Official gives me a since of accomplishment and satisfaction that no private server ever could.
i agree after i tried and tried and tried and tried and tried and tried and tried to get a game going, if it wasnt for the lag and constant crashes, server timeouts then trying to shoot someone with me banding all over the place . . . . i just went single player!
Sometimes officials bs is worth it kinda gives it that day z vibe in where anything could happen and for people who appreciate the grind there’s plenty of it. Over coming the setbacks is fun to me.
I love how hard official feels. The authentic earlygame gameplay, how fast you can lose everything. The feeling of randomly finding a body of an alpha tribe person with cracked loot, that its way harder to farm or to make progress(this makes it more rewarding for me, i dont like tek) and suprisingly i do like that a run of official often ends after a week bc u got raided. Sadly things that i never got to experienceon unofficial even after countless hours of searching and trying out. Even tho i dont have a problem with toxic things like notruns being blocked (more challenging and i like that) i agree that the official community is way too toxic
The problem with unofficial is mods add convenience, once you dip your toes in the water with convenience it's hard not to just dive in, easier stacking? Better building? Convenience and utility items? Better and new Dinos? Maybe up the server settings? Faster tame/breeding? Higher resource yield? Just command give items? Spawn in Dinos? God mode complete the tek cave without damage? It's an easy rabbit hole, it's so much more gratifying to complete the game with no access to the above, and to see others building up around you. I'm on official now, have been for weeks, and there's a TON of claimable land still. Sure the starter areas have been BUSY, yes, and the server stability is sloooowly getting better. But at least it's a complete game, and convenience isn't threatening to ruin the experience.
100% agree. I'm new ark player (1 month). I was playing on official pvp server for a week or so and it was no fun at all. People just killling your tames even if you didn't attack them and raiding bases almost every day/night when I was offline. No point wasting my time anymore and starting again from basically zero every 2 days...
OMG there is a spanish youtuber that makes his own servers and has every season its own story RP and almost any follower can join at least when i used to watch him play. he had also rules for the pvp like not killing creatures if they are in passive and they dont block base parts with weaknesses in the base it was so cool seeing them taking care of people that break rules by raiding them normaly without useing admin power till they cant play anymore cause usually thats what such people did
Official pve is a test of patience and mental endurance. And wildcard does wipe tribes that spam, but you just have to have like I said patience. I played official pve on my ps4 for over a year and loved it, and the community. But you definitely have to get yourself a piece of land and find a server with a good community, where the mega tribes work together to squeeze out the trolls and Pilar control building on resources and poi’s
You are correct until I got into a large tribe I couldnt play now every other large tribe has started to attack us and forced us to whipe them all while ignoring small tribes
I have found an Unofficial PVE server that is has a really awesome community and made a lot of friends. Makes Ark fun and not a chore. I don't have a lot of time to play, I don't want to be repairing or rebuilding my base all the time and having to find new tames.
pros of official -free -many people to meet/trade with -default ark experience of pain and suffering -very rewarding for enduring said "pain and suffering" cons -42/70 players "session full" -crashes every 2 hours with a 30min-1hour roll back -some players are bungholes -my god getting 2 berries a bush or only 1 prime meat from 30 baby penguins
I like the idea of a populated map, but favor actually being able login and not having to worry about greifers leading danger to my bases- PvE official.... eventually Wildcard add things from modes like they did with the map DLCs.
I’ll be honest man the biggest issue for me wirh ark offical PVP was me having a really good base setup for the island (could compete with the alpha) and then a alpha from extinction or somewhere with insane hesr would transfer over and completely wipe us
Teach you hit the nail right on the head. That is a lot of the reasons why I have never played official after one time being on it. I stick to unofficial. I've had my own cluster and to add with nitrado yes their servers do absolutely suck. They're constant, corrupted game files and server crashes. And now that they have gotten in bed with snail games, they are now as corrupted as snail games is trying to make it so nobody else can rent service from anybody else. However, in the beginning before our consented was released, we were all told that we would have access to different server providers as well as a never before seen modded map at launch along with all platforms. Now I do understand wild card has issues getting service out on time without problems. But let's be honest, Ark has been around for how long now and they're still having issues? Something doesn't seem right
I hate when people play ark FOR THE FIRST TIME and they do it on OFFICIAL SERVERS, then they go on to say ark is trash based on that experience. 🤦♂ Ark should only be played on private servers with friends or singleplayer, official is a trap that sucks the fun out of any casual player or noob that joins it.
Often in unofficial clusters, admins build community centers where people can gather, craft, trade, throw away unwanted stuffs for other players to get, events, minigames, etc...
The major issue I had with official servers is the "get off of my server mentality. I mean what does a huge tribe have to fear from a solo player in a thatch hut? I call it RPR or Rust Player Rabies. It is spread by being mauled by others that have it and it truly spreads like a disease. Otherwise nice players get infected and start lashing out at anything with a pulse. I'm lucky to have found an unofficial with a good community.
Official feels like a job more then a game it’s bad
So true
Well formulated
I don't mind official rates what I truly mind is that damn taming and breeding time bro
It brings actual meaning to the game otherwise why would you play a survival game if you legit can’t not survive
@Motivational.mindset69 I'm not wasting 12hrs of my life raising a giga bro that's just for it to eat alone call it what you want I'm not "surviving" by watching a bar go up over 7 days and taking shifts like it's a job
9/10 times it’s the player base that kills the game. Main reason I stick to single player games nowadays, not wasting my time with toxic trash
I quit official a long time ago. It was way too toxic and filled with people that play 24/7 all year. Better off just playing unofficial or single player. It's still sad to see people think official is the only way to play the game.
Thank you for your honest input lol
Not the only way, just the better way.
there is no worng way to play.. Official is just the hardway and alot of fun to many.
If you're talking about pvp yes. If it's pve then official is the only way to go
@@MoIds0official pve is the worst, ppl block caves and notes and drops and ypu can't do anything about it because pve
Right pve official for life
I have the same.
This is exactly how it happened
so glad to hear this from someone else, i played on 683 center back in the day and the community was amazing, then they added transfers and every big tribe that was keeping our server protected from griefs got raided, they had the upper hand before because they ran things, it was official but they owned it cuz nobody could raid.
However, as another person who has other real life requirements that limit my play time, I enjoy the official PVE side of the game and here’s why
This is the best and most accurate
well said
That’s 100%
Pve bob 🤡
@@RobertParaleywhy even comment? Get a life 😂🤓
I totally agree with you.
I have had that happen in early ark lol
Sorry but I did the same thing. Sorry 😔
@@Skydron Wow, even on PvE where you would think it might be "safer" lol nope still the same toxic players their too

Thank you for your honest input lol
Alright, Let me clarify something as well. If Ark somehow finds a way to get rid of some of the toxic stuff like ini, spawn camping, and other crap.... I think Ark Official COULD make a massive comback.... Thoughts?!? (Also, this video is 11:11 on accident.... Thats kinda cool!!!! )
Thanks man, I always wondered.
aye whats that dino transformation mod?
Hands down meshing is the worst issue with Ark pvp official. Insiding is the next worst issue, but there isn't a punishment incentive for that kind of behavior in Ark. If they could 100% fix meshing and everyone had to raid fairly. Would be so much better.
As a 31000 hour player official will not make a come back the coding is all the same and cheats will live forever right now you can reserve your spot for ark 2 aimbot
Also on top of that there’s meshing they system in play does not stop anything just the people who know how to do it haven’t released it yet and prob won’t same with duping you can still show right now and you could say oh the devs will catch you that’s also false I will not explain how it’s done just know they will not fix it
People place pillar everywhere so others can't build.
You are the pve d-bags lol
i agree one of the biggest reasons i stopped playing official is because of ridiculous amount of pillars that prevent you from building or even accessing places.
@@GAHJIEyeah let's submit a ticket to wild card, only gunna take then half a year to respond and probably not even help you at all😂
foundation spam is so easy solveable.....
1. if you dont stick together enough building parts (lets say 48 at minimum -> 4x4 house with walls and ceilings) you simply will get a 24 hour decaytimer
2. timer only refreshes if you add something to the building - reloggin is not enough
3. with increasing pieces, the landclaim bubble and decay timeer increases from super tiny to mediocre and finaly to the maximum.
There is nothing that is more challenging on official pve as opposed to single player with official settings or an unofficial server with official settings EXCEPT the behaviour of other players who have no moderation ...and the lag.

depends... if you are looking for a fun chill experience then yeah, stay away from offi.
but if you want a challenge like no other then hop on offi.
its no different from a competitive fps, theres the tryhard offi/ranked and the chill pve, singleplayer/casual.
personally i play ark for that excitement, for the grueling pvp, the week long raids, the camaraderie, etc etc. i have made friends through ark pvp that im closer to than some of my irl friends
saying one is bad and you should NEVER TOUCH IT N BLAA BLAA is just being simple minded. you prefer single player and a chill experience, and others prefer the grueling difficulty.
ngl this video just seems like ragebait, the argument you are making is essentially "board games are better then console games"...
Interesting how he would never respond to this but half of it is wrong or blow to higher proportions and with him complaining about ini I'm pretty sure he did a video of the commands for it so he'll complain about it but happily still profit views for it producing that content directly on the thing he's hating on
I 100% agree with u. That’s why I run my own private server and take input from my players and adjust it accordingly
I agree! Started my own unofficial PVE server and havent looked back :D
@@edvinkandenas348and theres people who hate those rates. Now: give an alternative for those people
@@klapsendoc06xd60 Its based on demand if there were that many players that wanted to play servers with other rates more would prob exist

Most Unofficial servers only work for big casuals and people that arent a fan of grinding (and therefore quit after a week)
Also these official servers are more toxic bc, well, grinding is annoying and makes white men with no impulse control salty (and because those grinding servers have more people that play more consistently on them)
I’m so glad I searched for a video like this. Thank you
Official is the way to go for pve cause of the trading scene and where all the real dino breeding goes down.

But I just can't do unofficials, for a variety of reasons:
You never know when the host is going to shut down the server.
I've never played unofficial never cheated one time ever I love official unofficial is for people who want everything easy
Just play Single player and make your own rules, you can easily keep them the same as the official servers.
OMG 😂😂
Any one playing pve thinking he is talking about pve as official is lost- but just so you know pve is also toxic with areas being spammed off ect
Not really talking about PVE lol
Also makes a big difference when you're playing 6 years into the games lifespan and there's barely any players vs the launch of the new game. If you don't think most things are pillared off or "claimed" on current PVE servers you're lost.
Big negative thing in unofficial server is that admin can close server anytime and you lose all your progress.
Yup. Single player has none of that.
just came across this vid great job i like what you are saying so i am going to sub thanks
Awesome, thank you!
I'm definitely following you I'll definitely join your server when it goes up . Your awesome
Totally agree- I have over 7k hours of ark almost all on the Arkade cluster of servers where they focus on the fun part of the game.
love the feedback on the server play. I can't wait to try this game!
I love all of your good points i am going to be unofficial from now on forwards. Thank you for making me aware of these things.
Almost at 100k teach love your ark vidz
I always enjoyed getting around the unconventional warfare official brings to the table its like a challenge
You are right about all of it. I got sick of offical in a hurry, and now it is unoffical or solo.
True, certain groups fight tooth and nail to control a server and hold it hostage, tis the law of the ark jungle.
I tried over years to run solo on official server. I was able to run some bosses but i couldnt run them all over the past 6years. Sounds crazy to not complete a game after all these years. But i love to have this goal
Official PvP just isn't designed to be played as a solo though it can be done but this is why they came out with small tribes.
Same, all because of the community.
I’ve been playing this game for years and never once have I fought a boss. Always played as a survival/building game with the boys. I love it.
Nothing but facts. When I switch to unofficial I started having way more fun
i totally agree i think there should be land claim blocks to stop people putting down founds everywhere, but as far as private servers as you said nitrado are terrible so ark then becomes a single player game.
I agree. Solo play is super fun and adjustable to how I want to play.
I do not organize my life around official we have a big enough tribe to touch grass
So true with the foundations in new too this game period and I seen / peeped that I couldn’t build no where I had to go inland dangerous area
PvE official is my favorite mode. Server identity and tribes working together is so much fun
Thank you for all your input on the game. Your channel has been great for learning everything about ark. You truly are a great teacher. Morbidrain
Completely agree with this video. Well said sir
What was the mod where you turned into a rex?
This! Need this! :)
You are correct until I got into a large tribe I couldnt play now every other large tribe has started to attack us and forced us to whipe them all while ignoring small tribes
Youve done a great job of convincing me to not waste my money or time
Thanks
I’m new to ark literally explains so much the reason why I’m watching this official is officially unplayable every server is destroyed
I have found an Unofficial PVE server that is has a really awesome community and made a lot of friends. Makes Ark fun and not a chore. I don't have a lot of time to play, I don't want to be repairing or rebuilding my base all the time and having to find new tames.
pros of official
-free
-many people to meet/trade with
-default ark experience of pain and suffering
-very rewarding for enduring said "pain and suffering"
cons
-42/70 players "session full"
-crashes every 2 hours with a 30min-1hour roll back
-some players are bungholes
-my god getting 2 berries a bush or only 1 prime meat from 30 baby penguins
Thats why oficial servers ia enpty during no 2x event
I like the idea of a populated map, but favor actually being able login and not having to worry about greifers leading danger to my bases- PvE official.... eventually Wildcard add things from modes like they did with the map DLCs.
I’ll be honest man the biggest issue for me wirh ark offical PVP was me having a really good base setup for the island (could compete with the alpha) and then a alpha from extinction or somewhere with insane hesr would transfer over and completely wipe us
We play squirtleark servers! 3man tribes, uts great, still has risks but its fun 😊
Something doesn't seem right
I appreciate this.
Everytime I play official the next day the server is gone not realy sure what is happening
That mentality was in ASE long before Rust.
@@ravage243 Yeah but Rust Is known primarily for it's brutal toxicity. Ark is "that dinosaur game."
I agree so much about what u said about pvp and official
I feel the same man, I play with my friends on official, but it's not my preferred method of playing...
