Halo 4 is the drunk-ass uncle who nobody likes, constantly depressed because of his unpopularity, drinking himself to heck as to forget he's one of the least loved of the family. Only Halo 3 is nice to him, but that's because that mo-fo is nice to everyone. Halo 5 is Halo 4's son, claiming to be even better than Halo 3 - and yet, still get lynched by the fans who don't see themselves in it. And so the Mantle must pass on, friends. We are gettting old. Halo is not dead, but changing. And the direction it's taking is far from what it originally was. But remember, as Halo 5 asks you for REQ packs, as the campaign is unberable, remember of the awesome times of the first trilogy. May it be you alone playing the campaign, or the insane Legendary playtrhough wih friends during the night, with for food a pizza and a lot of soda.
Shinzon I'm guessing Master Chief Collection was the big birthday celebration for Halo 2 but then Halo 4 came and fucked it up and then Halo 5 was born so everyone had to focus on that instead of Halo 2's birthday.

Yeah, they couldn't really do much with the main theme considering they literally just couldn't use it. However, it had a few selct pieces that were nice to listen to. Just not the main one.

The rest of the game is an entirely different story. Why was the original Halo trilogy so amazing? Well it had an amazing campaign with an even better soundtrack that set the tone of the campaign, and multiplayer that kept you coming back so you could get better and better with each match, it had gamemodes that suited EVERYONE. This soundtrack, these theme songs, made Halo what it is today. Games nowadays dont have soundtracks like this, Halo had this and perfected its soundtrack through Bungie's direction.
I personally don't think 343 ruined Halo. While the new trilogy doesn't live up to the original, I still feel that Halo 4 had an amazing story and multiplayer I could kill a few hours on, and even though Halo 5's story was lacking, I still enjoy it personally and play it almost everyday. And even though the characters aren't so convincing in Halo 5, at least they are there and have room for development. And I'd even go as far as to say that in the original 3 Halos, Master Chief wasn't much of a character. Even though he was memorable and all, he was quite under-developed and, well Halo 4 I feel really showed his humanity. Same with Forward Unto Dawn and the animated Fall of Reach. I found Nightfall to be entertaining as a film and had some pretty good character development too and liked how it showed Locke before he was a Spartan. But I respect your opinion and am not going to be one of those people who goes "Omg, wtf your opinion isn't the same as mine, therefore your opinion sucks."
morti dragon Well, Bungie's philosophy with Chief in the games was that he was simply a player avatar for a power fantasy mostly and so restricted most of his character development to side materials.
I am honored of being among the legends that has completed the entire halo series on legendary difficulty + grabbing all achievements for the collection so many hard long hours of fun not to mention the great great atmosphere of gaming i was experiencing while going through it!! Thank you so much for letting me be part of something iconic as halo really is and thanks for giving this amazing challenges on the game that took more than months for me to handle best game of all time in my opinion!!❤❤

Man I remember playing Halo shortly after it came out on first xbox. I was 8 years old (now I'm 20!) and from then on up to halo 3 odst I loved halo! Something about reach lost my interest and unfortunately for halo 4 I never bought it due to hard drive space....Halo 3 was by far my most favorite!
My first experience with Halo was at a friends house. I noticed him playing it on his Xbox and he let me try it. At first I wasn't that impressed, but then I drove out into the scenery and saw the curve of the halo reach up into the sky. At that moment I was instantly hooked.
Minus 2 years and actually played Halo 4, I'm the exact same, halo is a great series and I'm excited for the Halo Master Chief edition, I just hope it comes to PC though

I really like to watch the ring circle the sky it feels so much more impressive ;)

They should also bring back the Spectre, Elephant, Shadow, and transport hog for multiplier. I'm pretty sure we've been waiting for the Pelican long enough as it is.
Whenever I hear the halo 3 theme I can hear Cortana's voice echoing in my head from the final mission where she's updating you with how charged the halo ring is before is blows up. But that's just me. :P
When my dad played halo, (i was 3 or 4 at the time) and when we saw the flood, my sister called the flood carriers "Popcorn men". No joke. But then when halo 2's flood arrived, i had a nightmare about the flood and have been afraid of them until 5 years after halo 3's release. Now, the flood are just another bug for me to squish under my boots now.
Am I the only die hard halo fan that actually loved reach, i played the campaign 50 times over was maxed out in multiplayer, being able to fully customize your spartan increased the amount of connection I had with noble 6 and made for an amazing ecperience
I wish the campaign was more like the book though. The original spartans, defending the guns, beach battles and trenches etc. I did love Reach, I just wished it was more like the book.
Halo was my first ever game I played on my first xbox when I was approx 7yrs old. I'm 22yrs old now (female too:o) and Halo will always be dear to me. A lot of people will say it's just a game but being a scared little kid with not much good going on in life, Halo, it's story, theme songs and everything inbetween allowed escapism and enjoyment. Halo 2 was my favorite. It had the best levels and was more of a modern and mot futuristic game. I really liked 1 and 3 too. I watched a halo 4 play though and I don't think it is that bad but it seemed to be quite a huge leap in a different direction. I owned 1, 2 and 3 up until my mom smashed my xbox 360 years ago now. I'm just thankful I got to grow up experiencing halo. Started playing when the first one came out. I was 12. It was an amazing game and the first Lan party I ever went to was a halo party. I have poured countless hours into halo 1, 2, 3, and reach. Even placed third in a tournament. But sadly I have not played in years. Some of my fondest memories with friends are ones that involve halo.
I started to play this game when I was 4. I wasn't even able to read anything well, but my brother showed me how to play this game. And I'm so thankful for this time. You could say 'oh damn a first person shooter and a four years old little boy but fuck it. It's fucking halo and THIS is my childhood. Without halo my gaming life would be so empty. You need halo. You play halo. You feel halo.
Man, mix the epic mood of the gregorian chant with some epic music, sets the mood and tone of the game smoothly. Adds the epicness and the feels. Slowly rising orchestra music adds to the awesomeness, than for like Halo two, add some guitar riffs and chords, and in 3, that epic piano man!
My opinion on the Halo games: Halo CE: All around brilliant, especially for the time it was released. There's not much to go into detail about considering almost every detail was simply awesome. Halo 2 (my personal favorite out of the series): Improved on a lot of aspects from Halo 1, including storytelling and Easter eggs. And let's not forget the awesome multiplayer. The campaign also had missions where you were a MUTHAPHUCKIN ELITE! WORT WORT WORT! Halo 3: The story was amazing, but I don't think the gameplay was quite as good as Halo 2's. Still, it was amazing then and it's amazing now. A good way to finish the fight. Halo 3 ODST: To start off, I'm pissed that it was a FULL PRICED GAME instead of DLC. But looking past MS's money who're schemes, it was a really fun experience, with the Mombassa Streets giving a free roam feel to Halo. What can I say? It was a hell of a night. Halo Wars: I'm not too much of an RTS guy, but DAMN it was good. I just love controlling my own army of Covenant or UNSC soldiers. Halo Reach: It brought the storytelling and Forge mode to a whole new level. However I wasn't totally into the multiplayer or some of the gameplay aspects (like bloom and some of the OP armor abilities. Mostly armor lock.) It wasn't the best Halo, but I'll always remember Reach. Halo 4: Okay, the haters are giving this game too little credit, and the fans are giving it too much credit. IMO this is the worst Halo, but it still holds up as the great game. The storytelling was revolutionized and actually made me cry like a baby by the end and I'm really glad to hear Chief finally talk during campaign. Some of the missions were really fun, too. HOWEVER, forge was nearly RUINED by 343 when they decided to not have a big Forge World type of map (The shitty Forge Island DLC does NOT count because all it did was give us a slightly large empty space above land that is 90% LETHAL water). They even got rid of fine editing and zoom. WHY? The multiplayer kinda sucked too. The only gametype I enjoyed playing was Regicide. And they put it in some clusterfuck of a playlist rather than letting have its own! Alright, that's enough ranting about Halo 4's issues. John woke up to BULLSHIT. (I DO like the game, but I just couldn't resist saying that stupid joke)
To be fair, ODST was initially gonna be DLC, but it just got too big. And honestly, it was pretty fun to play either way, plus they added in the halo 3 multiplayer + all DLC so can't really complain too much about its price.
343 industries, you were right to focus your attention upon the prequels, but these sequels, these abominations.......... Long has your predecessor, Bungie, led in their genre with honor and distinction, but your inability to safeguard Halo, was a colossal failure. Even though he was memorable and all, he was quite under-developed and, well Halo 4 I feel really showed his humanity. Same with Forward Unto Dawn and the animated Fall of Reach. I found Nightfall to be entertaining as a film and had some pretty good character development too and liked how it showed Locke before he was a Spartan.

Man I remember playing Halo shortly after it came out on first xbox. I was 8 years old (now I'm 20!) and from then on up to halo 3 odst I loved halo! Something about reach lost my interest and unfortunately for halo 4 I never bought it due to hard drive space....Halo 3 was by far my most favorite!

My first experience with Halo was at a friends house. I noticed him playing it on his Xbox and he let me try it. At first I wasn't that impressed, but then I drove out into the scenery and saw the curve of the halo reach up into the sky. At that moment I was instantly hooked.
Minus 2 years and actually played Halo 4, I'm the exact same, halo is a great series and I'm excited for the Halo Master Chief edition, I just hope it comes to PC though

Bungie gave us the love, the passion they have for the Halo Series, Halo 1, Halo 2, Halo 3, Halo 3 ODST and Halo Reach. Since 343 came into the game they only want our money and have no love for the game, Halo 4 and Halo 5. Like Jennifer O said it, "Halo 4 just lost me"

Halo 4 wasn't a bad game it just didn't quite live up to the standard set by Halo 3, which was unfairly high, seeing as Halo 1 and 2 didn't either, and seeing as this was 343's first game on their own.
I can almost guarantee you that Halo 5 will be a vast improvement on what Halo 4 fell short on.

When my dad played halo, (i was 3 or 4 at the time) and when we saw the flood, my sister called the flood carriers "Popcorn men". No joke. But then when halo 2's flood arrived, i had a nightmare about the flood and have been afraid of them until 5 years after halo 3's release. Now, the flood are just another bug for me to squish under my boots now.

I have not had the chance to fully grow up with halo, being born on the same year it was released, but since 2 years ago it has been my life, my favourite game of all time, far better than all the others.
When I joined the gamers we didn't have any fancy schmancy audio controllers. We had joysticks! Two joysticks and a screen for the whole party. And we had to share the screen. Buck up, boy! Your one very lucky gamer!

Halo 2 was my favorite. It had the best levels and was more of a modern and mot futuristic game. I really liked 1 and 3 too. I watched a halo 4 play though and I don't think it is that bad but it seemed to be quite a huge leap in a different direction. I owned 1, 2 and 3 up until my mom smashed my xbox 360 years ago now. Wish I could play them again.

The weird thing is they had discussed doing it before they settled on Reach. They obviously had a story planned, given the way they ended 3, so it would have been pretty cool to see what their take on it was.
The main menu would still have it's signiture Halo theme, the Grunts would look cute again, and Master Chief would have spoken 99% percent less.

Bungie is always one step ahead of everyone, and for your information Bungie has been at it for about 6 years. With their newest up-coming game series with the first game of it being called Destiny. You can tell that it's Bungie who is making it since the Beta coming out in a month or so will look better than a lot of new games out there today. Man, mix the epic mood of the gregorian chant with some epic music, sets the mood and tone of the game smoothly. Adds the epicness and the feels. Slowly rising orchestra music adds to the awesomeness, than for like Halo two, add some guitar riffs and chords, and in 3, that epic piano man!

My opinion on the Halo games:
Halo CE: All around brilliant, especially for the time it was released. There's not much to go into detail about considering almost every detail was simply awesome.
Halo 2 (my personal favorite out of the series): Improved on a lot of aspects from Halo 1, including storytelling and Easter eggs. And let's not forget the awesome multiplayer. The campaign also had missions where you were a MUTHAPHUCKIN ELITE! WORT WORT WORT!
Halo 3: The story was amazing, but I don't think the gameplay was quite as good as Halo 2's. Still, it was amazing then and it's amazing now. A good way to finish the fight.
Halo 3 ODST: To start off, I'm pissed that it was a FULL PRICED GAME instead of DLC. But looking past MS's money who're schemes, it was a really fun experience, with the Mombassa Streets giving a free roam feel to Halo. What can I say? It was a hell of a night.
Halo Wars: I'm not too much of an RTS guy, but DAMN it was good. I just love controlling my own army of Covenant or UNSC soldiers.
Halo Reach: It brought the storytelling and Forge mode to a whole new level. However I wasn't totally into the multiplayer or some of the gameplay aspects (like bloom and some of the OP armor abilities. Mostly armor lock.) It wasn't the best Halo, but I'll always remember Reach.
Halo 4: Okay, the haters are giving this game too little credit, and the fans are giving it too much credit. IMO this is the worst Halo, but it still holds up as the great game. The storytelling was revolutionized and actually made me cry like a baby by the end and I'm really glad to hear Chief finally talk during campaign. Some of the missions were really fun, too. HOWEVER, forge was nearly RUINED by 343 when they decided to not have a big Forge World type of map (The shitty Forge Island DLC does NOT count because all it did was give us a slightly large empty space above land that is 90% LETHAL water). They even got rid of fine editing and zoom. WHY? The multiplayer kinda sucked too. The only gametype I enjoyed playing was Regicide. And they put it in some clusterfuck of a playlist rather than letting have its own! Alright, that's enough ranting about Halo 4's issues.

To be fair, ODST was initially gonna be DLC, but it just got too big. And honestly, it was pretty fun to play either way, plus they added in the halo 3 multiplayer + all DLC so can't really complain too much about its price.
