Hey Rudy, do you have "call duty" at your hospital? The hospital I worked at offered maintenance employees the option of doing 'call duty' on a rotating basis, usually one week on, two weeks off. For every hour we were off the clock, they paid us $4.00/hour, and if problems came up at the hospital, we were expected to respond and take care of the problem, no matter what time of day or night it was. And if we were called back in on a trouble call, we were paid double time, from the time we left the house, until the time we returned home. We were issued a dedicated cell phone when doing call duty. Some really good extra money, for practically no work at all. We just had to be willing to be 100% available to respond to trouble calls while we were 'on call'. Something you might look into!!
