    I really like the new pick guard, since I really like the vintage tortoise shell look. I'm surprised you didn't clean up the original, but this decision still was a good one on your end. The end result looked beautiful as always, of course.
    私はヴィンテージのカメの殻の外観が本当に好きなので、私は新しいピックガードが本当に好きです。オリジナルを片付けなかったことに驚いていますが、この決定はまだあなたの側で良いものでした。もちろん、最終結果はいつものように美しく見えました。

    Great job on this. Under all that "muck" this is a fine looking bass. They nailed the "Fender-burst" finish. Although these were lower end instruments, you've showed what this Fresher brand bass could do.

    Great job. It looks new. What I don't understand is why you changed the lid of the electronics. The new one fits the bass better. But the other, knowing your abilities, you could have restored as well. I also don't understand why you didn't plug the holes that are left on the sides of the bridge. You would have covered them with chopsticks and disguised them with paint and polish... Don't you think ?

    • @evilempire1808
      @evilempire1808 Рік тому

      @@denislechretien Well, I think his work is very good. And the holes that did not cover only serve an aesthetic function. That's why I think it would have been better to cover them. He didn't correct the frets because he didn't need to. Possibly that's why he just polished them. As for the sound of the amplifier, I find it correct. The sound that reaches us on the computer through its video is very relative. To know how it would sound if we were there by his side, listening to him live...

    You've already been admonished about WD-40 in electronics. Now, I'd like to type at you about your soldering technique. When solder cools and solidifies it should have a smooth silver like appearance. I saw at least two that were grey and grainy. This is what is known as a cold joint. They will, at some unknowable time in the future, fail. While you are cleaning those pots, use a little IPA and a brush to get all of that old flux off. Use solder braid to get as much of the old solder off as well. As to the rest of the restoration, I have no comment. You are light years ahead of anything I could do.

  • @henryliedecke3769
    @henryliedecke3769 Рік тому +1

    Distilled White Vinegar will help clean those metal parts. Just soak them for about an hour, then spray a bit of WD-40 on them and give them a good scrub. It will help out alot.

    For some of your videos I have questions on products. What do you use to remove stickers and all that? Also, what do you use to remove the paint? Is it just paint stripper?

    • @studioasyl
      @studioasyl  Рік тому +1

      Stickers are commercially available label removers.
      The ingredients seem to be xylene and ethylbenzene.
      Paint thinner is often used to remove paint, but if it is difficult to remove, a commercial paint remover is used. This is a surfactant, according to the ingredients list.

    失礼します。
    余計なことかもしれませんが、ネックのマスキングの順番が、逆です。
    ネックサイドに貼ってから、指板に貼りましょう。
    剥がす時に、楽です。
    サイドのマスキングを剥がす動作で、指板のマスキングも一緒に剥がれてきます。
    それと、動画の手順ですと、例えばローズやエボニー等の指板の場合、サイドのマスキング(フレット幅の隙間)に入り込んで残った研磨剤で、指板を台無しにしてしまう場合があります。
    研磨剤が指板に乗ってしまう事だけは、何としても避けたいところであります。
    失礼しました。
