As an 80s metal kid (and bass player) this was always my dream bass. Thanks for rescuing her! She looks amazing!
Being a bassplayer myself I'm glad you cleaned and fully restored that beauty. The kind of bass I'd like to have right now
That bass guitar just screams Heavy Metal. Love a warlock
@@tedted6029in his early days Max Cavalera used to have a Warlock guitar, so...
@@tedted6029 idk . how punk is reping big corps like cat and bell? pretty sure this was owned by some specticle d bag looking for an image
A buddy of mine has one. I used to play it at his house sitting down.
Very uncomfortable!! Not in love with the body shape. Head over heels with the tone. I want to say his has passive pickups. But I'm not sure. Great for hard rock or metal!!
love the armor king sticker by the switches.
I think it had soul with the stickers and grime, but i cant deny you cleaned it up very well. skillful work.
From something that hurts the eyes to something you don't want to stop looking at! Great work!
At first I thought about these guitars and basses as having some personal charm and should be left like that, but then it struck me they were personalized by a previous owner and wherever they wind up they should be reset first so the new owner(s) whoever it might be can personalize it their way. And the way you "reset" them is beyond belief and something to be proud of. Also a lot of fun and educational to watch! Keep going! :D
I disagree. It erases the history of an instrument.
@@theothertonydutch OK
@@theothertonydutch What history? It was a bunch of hideous, random stickers. Could have at least stuck with a theme. It's like any sticker the previous owner came across got plastered on that poor axe. Plus it was highly neglected. Didn't you see all that rust and oxidation? Probably some kid that picked it up a handful of times and gave up. No serious musician would ever treat a $2,000 bass that way. New owner, new life.
@@13JDOG666 Oh, so you're one of them ...
@@curiouscatlabincgetsworrie7755 I am?😬
Ooooof... That thing had a lot more history and personality while festooned in stickers, if you ask me. By all means fix the thing, but theres something to be said for a crazy, old school sticker job.
You switched the string holes with the saddle screw hole when you reassembled. Look at the before and after. The string should be in the top hole.
oh yeah i was wondering why does it look a bit off when he was putting on the new strings lmao well i guess he's got reason for it or just an honest mistake
I like it better with the stickers I would’ve just put a clearcoat over the stickers to preserve them.
Now that's a proper Warlock! It looked and sounded great when you were done with it. I always wanted a Warlock since I was a kid in the 80's here. Good selection of bass lines in the demo section, too--I made out both "Hysteria" and "Maxwell Murder" in there, as well as a couple others that sounded familiar.
Man, not gonna lie, the stickers are what made it unique and some of those stickers are irreplaceable and rare, like the original American Motorcycle Association sticker (that’s a very important one) the AMA stickers, wow there’s a lot of racing stickers
Especially my families own sticker, the K&N air filters sticker
I agree, but its only unique if you know what that is, and sticker slapped guitars and what's on them are very personalized. (I have my epiphone rockbass with stickers all over still)
This guitar gets a new life being reused and customized, beat up again. And some young metal head is going to slap his local band stickers on it and start it all over.
😊
Also, thanks for making a better flowing filter that has lasted longer and been more efficient than the OEM and cheaper shit. Been using them for years now on all my cars I've owned.
I currently use the K&N air intake kit on my accord. Makes woosh noises now 😂😂
Again, those are rare stickers, you can’t get those vintage AMA stickers anymore
@Leatherface123 idk where you live, but no it's not lol
You can find reprints of vintage stickers everywhere lol
It's a sticker on a old bass in japan. It's not that deep 😂😂😂
I love the shape of the body the black mirror color and the natural wood...
That is a right glorious thumper, right there. Id spend hours just fiddling with the knobs. Lol. I'm about to put a kit Mockingbird together, but im gonna make it a set neck instead of a bolt on.
Outstanding work as always!
those stickers look rad.
My feelings are devided with this video. I know it's a restoration channel but part of this bass charm and history was the stickers glued to it. I just love the BC Rich design that's for sure.
That bass is worth about $2,500.00. To hell with those ugly, random stickers😐
@@13JDOG666 What a boring opinion. Are you a NIMBY perhaps? just a wild guess.
It's makes me kind of sad to see the history of the stickers gone. But I also did the same to my very first bass recently. It's nice to get back where it all started.
What a legendary bass.
This was my very first bass i desperately wish i still had it to pass on to my son. I would’ve taken it just like it was with all the stickers and everything so me and him could’ve cleaned it up ourselves as a father son project regardless you did an amazing job on this
Wow being a bass player and playing metal with a band at 16 I really want that bass now
Beautiful restoration and clean up 😊
I wished there was a way you could have cleaned the body up but kept the stickers. There’s personality with the stickers.
Having said that - it’s beautiful and v sounds great! Really enjoy your videos.
Thank you!
Somebody loved that instrument.
Such an amazing transformation! Brilliant! ❤❤❤
Amazing patience, amazing work..great job!
Awesome job on the Warlock. That one is a keeper!
Amazing bass design.
Excellent work!👏🏼
very cool. somebody had a lot of fun with that in the past and i hope they will in the future too.
Wow... What a difference!
That's a really great looking bass too 👍😎🙏🙏
String break angle at the bridge looks super unheakthy.
Mighty pretty work , as usual.
Fantastic work 🤘😎
The work you do on these guitars is nothing short of a miracle! These things look like they were done for, but somehow you find a way to restore them to their original glory. Amazing!
Love these videos!
What a gorgeous neck!
I was super impressed by the sticker removal...
That is a gorgeous bass, you should send it to me!! Awesome work!
you are a true guitar hero!!!🤟🤟🤟(in this case a bass hero)
Man, all those stickers and magic marker. Somebody really hated that bass. Save the stickers for your skateboards, kids.
I'm appalled! What kind of monster would do that to this expensive Nikki Sixx NJ? It's bad enough they covered it in those hideous random af stickers, but to let it degrade like that is an entirely different level of neglect. It's like it was left out in the backyard naked for a year. Deplorable and disgusting.
Fantastic job taking the time with all the detail involved, and bringing this beautiful thing back to life. Takes a lot of patience. You obviously love what you do and are quite skilled at it. Cheers🤘
Amazing what cleaning will do excellent work.
hot take: this guitar looked cool with those stickers.
Mr. Bernie Rico would be proud. Great job sir. 🤘👍🎼🎶🎵 It's alive,it's alive!!!!!!!!!
Excellent work but i sugested a cleaner ultrasonic is more fast and easy the rest 👍🏻🎙️🎸🇻🇪👏
The best man
Looks 10x better without stickers all over it lol. I remember that being a really popular thing to do, but I always thought it looked tacky.
Ba-dum-tss
And this bad boy is ready to get new stickers
Where do you source your instruments from? What is the resource for terribly painted, cake in dirt and covered in sticker instruments?
Not a fan of BC Rich but the build quality looks great, especially the neck. 👍
If you played an original you would have a different opinion. The Instruments of the early 80's were a far cry from the crap that they put out from the very late 80's/early 90's on. This looks like a mid 80's MIJ NJ series.
@@ThundersMcCoy It is. Nikki Sixx model. All the bells and whistles. Never seen one with that neck though. Top dollar axe.
@@13JDOG666The Warlocks Nikki used (and were produced in the USA in early 80's) were all neck through body and had diamond inlays. If you google MIJ Nj Series Warlock bass you'll see the same one.
@@13JDOG666it’s called 100 piece neck because there was a 100 pieces of wood glued together. These were made in Japan for the Japanese market. I hear these necks are nice , I’ve never had the chance to play one myself. I would like to get my hands on one someday since I collect vintage BC Rich basses.
@@dyna_zero0385 Yeah I noticed all the laminates upon closer inspection and it's not a 7 piece like I originally thought. 100 is crazy. Not going to attempt counting each layer but I'll take your word for it. Very very expensive neck. Definitely Japan though. These model Warlocks were only made in Nagoya. No Korean or Chinese made NJ for this specific model. High dollar axe for sure. Not many of these were built and you won't see many in the resale market, especially with this neck. Not even very many 5 piece necks for that matter. Wouldn't surprise me if it's a one off, custom made for the individual. I can only dream of finding something like this jewel at a yard sale or a thrift store. Going by it's condition I bet he got it dirt cheap too. Previous owner ought to be severely punished for such neglect.
Love the sound of the bass. To bad it always gets drowned out
You gotta stop listening on your phone speaker.
@@WilDBeestMFeven in headphones if your not actively listening for bass it gets drowned out

I've had a 77 Mockingbird bass since new that has very similar circuitry as this bolt on Warlock....very complicated stuff.
You should've kept the stickers and just made it play again.
$2,500.00 bass there. Bye bye stickers.
that action looks higher than Willie Nelson
Bravooooo complimenti eccellente risultato bel suono
BC Rich Warlock bass. Sugoi ✌️ 🤘🇦🇺🇯🇵
good thing you removed those stickers so you can see the warlock underneath....
Classic bass, Too fast for love/Shout at the devil-Sixx style!

Gorgeous
That particular warlock could make you a good chunk of change, the second I saw the stringers in the back of the neck, I knew Japanese, plus reverse headstock? Oh yea.
It's a Nikki Sixx model NJ. They go for around $2,500. Never seen one with that neck, so it might fetch even more.
I am not sure that it is his signature, I have seen that neck type on other japanese BC Riches, on a mockingbird specifically, but it completely has that vibe, with the binding.@@13JDOG666
@@Zer0basscovers It's not a signature model, but he commissioned the first one built. It's his design. They just decided to build a few more of em after his was made.

Not a big Rancid fan, but Matt Freeman is a monster bassist.
Thank you for SAVING that Bass Guitar!!!
I usually love these videos...but I hate guitars that look like this.

I hate stickers. So beautiful in its original state. You love playing bass too, I see.
Any chance the bridge saddles are placed on the wrong direction? 🤔
I wonder if he can clean fix keyboards and drums
I had a warlock...mine def did not have switches like that at alll.....!
BC RICH USA MADE WARLOCK! GOOD JOB RESTORING IT!
It's an NJ. Made in Nagoya, Japan. Some NJ models are made in Korea or China. But this is the Nikki Sixx model. All the bells and whistles. Only made in Nagoya. Look at the craftsmanship on that neck. Not gonna find that on a Korean or Chinese made NJ.
I have been looking for one of these basses for the longest time. 100 piece neck, reversed headstock. Do you want to sell this????
The more stickers on the guitar the less they know how to play.
What did you spray on pickup covers to remove the paint?
❤
the previous owner spent more money on the stickers than on the actual bass
And now play some old school Mötley Crüe on that beast! Looks That Kill!
Is that a Nikki Sixx model?
Where do you find these guitars that are as trashed as bad as they are?
What song where you playing at the end of
