Holy cow, this is the best tutorial I've found for any installation. High resolution, and you can actually see what you're doing. Thanks a ton!!! I'm already up and running with my hat hoop within an hour!
I'm so happy to hear that! I actually looked this one up to remind myself how to get the cap hoop going again because it's been a few years since I did some caps for my Daughter's College Volleyball Team/Fans. ... Now she's a Varsity Volleyball Coach at a local high school... so I'm revving up the embroidered caps again! Thanks for watching
THIS is the instruction video I've been looking for!! Thank YOU! I've had the hat hoop for years, mine has the metal band but I hadn't been able to find a video that explained the steps, until now! Great video, thank you so much.
You are so welcome! I'm happy to hear this helps you! I made so many "Eastern Volleyball" when my daughter was playing in college... I love this hoop :)
Honestly I never knew you had to adjust abd set the frame, I was struggling so much with stitch jumps and alignment issues. But this video made it so easy and clear 👌🏽 thank you sincerely for this video
This is the most complete and understandable instruction and demonstration I have seen and understand. Brilliant. Thank you I hope you will continue to do demos.
thank you sooo much for saving me!!! i had been frustrated. I wish i could get the design lower on my hats but i think home machines have their limits!! However this made me fire up my babylock 10 needle at try again!
Best instructional video for the hat hoop by far! Very slow, clear and concise for a newbie like me. Great closeup video too! I haven't even taken my hoop out of the box yet, so I will be re watching it again! I will look for more of your helpful videos for my new Baby Lock Alliance. Thank you so much!
:) Thanks so much! Fun Fact, you may have been watching this at the same time as I was "reviewing" it too. My friend came over so I could embroider on a hat for her. It's been a year since I worked with the cap hoop.... So I needed to remind myself how to set it up!
I'm so happy to hear that! Please keep me posted if you have questions about your PRS 100... I love answering subscriber questions in upcoming videos! Thanks for embroidering along with me
Thanks for the tutorial! I embroidered my first hat today using a file made for hats. I'm curious, can I use embroidery designs not made for hats? Do I need specific font files for hats?
My Pleasure! You can use any embroidery design that fits into the hat hoop's embroidery field. If you use embroidery software to set up your design, you can choose the hat hoop and then add the design. I also use the built-in fonts from my software to add lettering. (I use the Pfaff Premier + Ultra software)... Hope this helps..Thanks for embroidering along with me
I bought my hat hoop used and missing the little pad and one of the screwdrivers any chance you might know where I could obtain them ? Thanks for the video ❤
I purchased my Brother PRS 100 at Sew Jersey in New Jersey... It's a really nice sewing store... Maybe give them a call. Here's their website www.sewjersey.com/ They can probably order those for you! Thanks for watching
My Pleasure! This hat hoop has a 5" wide by 2.5" high design size ...I embroidered a lot of Eastern Volleyball hats when my daughter was playing in college! You can also use the small square/circle frames to embroider numbers on the side/back of the hats! Thanks for watching
So helpful thank you so much .. I have a brother NQ1600e for all my flat embroidery but get so much request for hats and would love to get an affordable starter machine… Thank you from @_dosninos_ embroidery Your awesome
Let me add that to upcoming video tutorial list. I do have a hat to embroider for a friend... I'll check it out and try to get a video out on this topic. Thanks for watching
This cap hoop can handle all kinds of caps because of the cylinder shaped frame supporting it. I've embroidered on both simple cotton caps and caps with structure... they both came out great!
When you turn the machine on and press "OK" the embroidery arm/driver moves into the center start positon for you. ...Also, thank you for reaching out via email, I sent a reply.
I have Pfaff Premier + embroidery software. ...Back in the day, I learned on Brother PE Design! If you don't have software, I would check out Hatch software.... That's one that I want to get my hands on some day! Here's a link... you can try it for 30 days for free! hatchembroidery.com/free-trial?!acq!v3!154082000302_kwd-334991715107__684665414136_g_c__&US+-+Wilcom+Hatch+-+RSA+Brand+Campaign&gad_source=1&gclid=Cj0KCQjw4MSzBhC8ARIsAPFOuyUnJv6sXhu0wP4hKFwCi6HQCVZ9qzMKq_007ekGGwtYH3Yqm2LAO9waAogQEALw_wcB
I broke one of my plastic parts anyone know where I can get a replacement I ended up buying a second hoop but would love to get the plastic so I can have a second hat ready to go !
I'm not sure about that... I would check with your local Brother Sewing Machine Dealer to see if they sell replacement parts. (Sorry about my lack of help!)
I've followed the steps, and cannot embroider, my machine says to use a larger hoop. I have removed and reinstalled the hat hoop and yet the same message, the design I want to embroider is no more than 3x3 inches, there isn't a large hat hoop that I know of. Please help me with this.
Sorry about this, I think the reason why you’re having trouble is that the max height of the hat hoop is 60 millimeters… this is only 2.4 inches. The width is ok… can you find a design that’s not as high.

My cap frame has a 130 mm x 60 mm embroidery design max size (approximately 5" x 2.4"
Very helpful; thank you!
Glad it was helpful!

Hi I was just wondering what needle are you using for doing the hats
I use these Organ industrial strength needles for all my embroidery projects… here’s my Amazon affiliate link amzn.to/47jw4ox. Thanks for watching!
Can this machine make puffy raised embroidery on hats
Sorry, I haven't played with puffy foam/embroidery on this machine... But I can't imagine that it wouldn't be able to do it!
How does this machine do with Structured Caps?
This cap hoop can handle all kinds of caps because of the cylinder shaped frame supporting it. I've embroidered on both simple cotton caps and caps with structure... they both came out great!
What position should the driver be in? It seems the pulley parts move. How do I change the position if necessary?
When you turn the machine on and press "OK" the embroidery arm/driver moves into the center start positon for you. ...Also, thank you for reaching out via email, I sent a reply.
what program/software do you use for your PRS 100?
