I’ve spent many hours watching Tiny Home tours, and this by far is the best one I’ve seen. Good size kitchen, love the bed/living room, bathroom is a great size, love the closet space and washer/dryer combo placement, the windows, and that tv. Only thing, I’d put an AC in there, but other than that, this tiny home is perfect. Also, that floor heating? Truly makes it better.
That was the part when he got me. Some ppl built these tiny homes to sell them as you would say for pleasure, but with no real impact. In this case it really has an impact. I just saw videos about homeless ppl in Seattle and I think for some such a tiny home would also fit for a while to come back on their own feet.
Rv Parks are not built for 10" wide trailers - they are crammed so tightly together it is not as nice as you might think. The one floor is great for seniors. Better to have a piece of land to put it on.
@@icturner23 If they were 10 ft longer a bedroom could be added with a closet. that would be enough for me. I would not want to convert a bed or crawl around in a loft.
@@kallasusort2986 Where I live the lot sizes are about 50 ft by 75 ft so a good size but none of the mobile home parks are accepting tiny houses. We are having a battle with the district because we can't live in an RV on our own property and a "house" must be over 1,000 sf. So a tiny house that is not on wheels will still not qualify as a house and is not a legal residence. Temporary frustration but we will get there.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ First of all, I love the concept that this Tiny-Home was built with former foster youth in mind. For that reason alone it captured my heart. In addition, the home exudes comfort & function without sacrificing style, great job.
I was thinking how clever and thoughtful this design and build are and then he starts talking about it being a prototype and the non-profit. Then, the color scheme and now, I'm crying.....over a tiny house! This is a first. The couch design is perfect for this unit, and those extra large drawers are far less obtrusive than twice as many smaller ones would be in the same space. Floor heating is awesome and the air circulation unit is something that seems lacking in many other tiny homes. Here's a challenge for you.....design a home that is handicapped accessible with a bedroom on the first floor, plus two loft bedrooms. I know a Murphy bed will have to be part of this design, but wonder what else could make this happen. Great job!!!
There are already designs out there that have the same design as what your describing and can easily be built but you will end up with a unit that is a good bit bigger of course and is going to drive the cost up a good bit higher but it can easily be built in that configuration
It's a beautiful house, I know from experience the bed will be made and only when visitors come, turn into a couch. And sleeping couches are always less than a bed. Even with a topper, it won't sleep the way a bed does. Perhaps with a bed you raise to the ceiling, and a normal couch underneath, perhaps a murphy bed it will be the perfect little house.
Agree. There are some amazing Murphy beds now that also have a desk feature so killing two functions in one built in unit would work well in this home.
There are lots of UA-cam DIY Murphy bed tutorials & promo vids to give us ideas. Two of my favorites-a side-open Murphy that would work perfectly for one, & traditional vertical drop Murphys with shelving built as legs, or with a drop-down desk. All DIY.👍
This tiny house is practically perfect. Especially the design of not having to move stuff to get to stuff. The heated floor is a definite win in my book too! I also appreciate that the sleeping area isn't a loft. I'm not a fan of those. I think this house was beautifully designed. I would be perfectly happy living in it for the rest of my days.
This is my favorite by far. Everything you need and nothing that you don't. I agree that using cooktops instead of a built in stove top is the way to go. Love it!
Oh my , I love this , from the outside you would never have guessed how spacious it look's inside . I like how it is built and not on wheels, and love the cause it is for
I need something like this in an 8 foot width to put in the backyard. It has everything I need! And to the people who are saying they don't want to make the bed everyday....install a sideways Murphy Bed or just forget the sofa and leave it as a bed with a few storage nooks to stuff your bedding into for a quick clean-up! That closet is almost big enough to put a bed into!
It's a beautiful tiny house. I'll exchange the sofa bed for a murphy bed on the TV wall and move the TV and table on the other side, under the window to have a proper comfy bed. Overall, great!!
Thank you for this one! We are from Ontario and have wanted to down size here for years! Minimum 1000sqft to build here but this guy might have the answers.
Yes. Put the desk where that useless sofa bed is. They break down in less than a year and are very uncomfortable. Put a Murphy bed sofa combo in instead. Using a couch and using it also for a bed breaks down the surface quickly. Then you have neither a comfortable place to sleep or sit. Otherwise nice design. Perfect for one.
As a older person with disabilities a Murphy bed would be fab . Plus you don't have to bend over and be worn out making the bed daily. Plus the new Murphy's have shelfs and other handy attachments that foldover without having to be removed. Plus better quality mattress etc. Plus im sure that there are fosters with disabilities. And i know my murphy bed felt like a nest. Thanks for all you do for foster.
Phenominal!!! The home is smaller than most but actually truly feels and IS twice of 10x 23' Exactly what I like, even with the bed out you still have a walkway. I would even take away from desk and bed and fit in more storage. Huge bath and washer. You couldn't ask for more! Great design and build. I would want it on a foundation tied down rather than a trailer. That has been my question on all these tiny homes, noone address having it anchored for winds. Most are so tall with lofts I dislike. This is definitely my favorite!!
Beautiful colors and, yes, calming. What a worthy and needed non-profit. No one should be homeless especially foster youth. I hope the organization does well. I’ll look into it. You mentioned it’s illegal to live in a car. That’s BS. Certain areas should allow it, especially if housing is so expensive.
I like the thought that went into designing this tiny home. I also like the fact that it wasn't built onto a trailer. If I were to have a tiny home, it would be built in this fashion.
I love the design, style and color combination! 💖💖🙌🙌 what a great idea for kids after they turn 18 years to have a nice warm comfortable place to live. 🙏🙏👍👍

Ingenious jacking system. Would love to learn more about the structural engineering of the floor framing for the house. Can't wait to see people riff on this idea. It's a game changer! Thank you

A really beautiful design. Simple, perfect layout for a small space and yet feel so spacious. And the detachable feature is very appealing. I am so impressed. Thank you for sharing this really clever, beautiful and functional tiny house.
I love the floor heating! I live in South Korea now, and floor heating is actually the norm (it's called "ondol"). It's great...warms the entire living space evenly. I wish it were standard in the West!
This is by far the best tiny house I've seen! I love that it does not have a loft. The only question I have is about security. What kind of security system can be added to this?
Use glycol if it's a closed loop system. No bacteria and if the system goes down, it will not freeze and compromise the system. Great design, love the trailer concept on heilos
Yes, we use glycol. My heating engineer is the one who told me about the bacteria. In fact, our municipalities won’t allow an electric heater on glycol as a rule.

Yes, this is my favorite too. I like the on/off trailer design.
You don’t mind the non-sealing restroom door? When someone needs to do #2 the other person has to leave the house for half an hour.
I love the cause of this, helping foster youth is just so thoughtful and helpful, such great ppl !🙌👏

That system to move the house is very cool. I never before thought about the trailer not lasting as long as the house. Makes so much sense.
I really like the incentive for the design. To create a permanent base for those who loose their base when turning 18! 👏👍
*LOSE
Trees yup meaning put out of parents home
lovely tiny house and the thought of providing this in the future for young people who are homeless is so noble.
This could be an excellent choice for seniors too- especially in a tiny home park with amenities.
Yes, except that I doubt they would want to get the bed out every day.

The moving on and off a trailer is a great idea.
I saw a removable trailer in a BuildTinyNZ video last year. I hope the idea catches on really quickly!
Finally a trailer that you can reconnect, if you want to stay for longer on some land. What a great idea 🤩👍

I love the concept of giving back. Best interview and tour
I love this layout, its off-trailer design makes it great as an ADU. Watch this video often!!!
This is one of the best designs I’ve seen, finally, a decent closet!! Love it, has everything,
Very detail oriented builders and the cause for foster children is amazing! If I were Canadian I’d definitely look these guys up
Lovely house for one. Love the colour scheme.
Only thing I would do differently is install a Murphy bed/sofa combo instead of the couch they showed.
My camper has a Murphy bed with a sofa under it, it is great. 3-4 minutes later bed is gone and all it's bedding and there is a couch.
It's a beautiful tiny house. I'll exchange the sofa bed for a murphy bed on the TV wall and move the TV and table on the other side, under the window to have a proper comfy bed. Overall, great!!
This is a great layout not just as a tiny home but even a larger home as well
This is a well designed tiny house structurally and decorative wise.
That closet is amazing!! Love the style and colors - and the purpose.
Wow, c'est original comme modèle avec une remorque large et détachable. C'est vraiment génial.
Bon week-end à tous et à toutes.

Agree. A murphy/bed/sofa would be better
While I find the sofa bed ingenious, my bad back agrees with you.
I have slept on that exact Ikea couch model for about a year. No real issues tbh, but maybe that's just me being young.
