I'm reminded again of my younger brother's suffering and death from cancer in March of this year. His faith was so strong, he was confident that his suffering, joined to Christ's, has value. I'll always remember in my prayers the retired priest who came out to his home in Folsom, on a rainy night, to anoint him for the final time, giving the final plenary indulgence of the forgiveness of sins; and also the Eucharistic ministers who drove a long distance to the church and then to my brother's home that same night, even though they had to give only a small portion of the Blessed Host in a tiny spoonful of applesauce (with permission). It was such a comfort. My brother's friend, an atheist, helped support him in a sitting position for both. The friend later told me he felt the peace and calm as a physical presence. His explanation -- or rationalization -- was that it's all psychological, and so he could understand how people might become theist in order to obtain final comfort. Of course, we know it's the Holy Spirit, and comfort from our Guardian Angels, too. Not everybody who was there that night felt it. I'm hoping that means the atheist friend, Mike, is moving towards conversion - pray for him! I know my brother Jeffry is. Also please pray for the pagans and agnostics who were there -- my brother had many, many friends, and he didn't discriminate by religion. He was such a natural evangelist, even to the point of receiving the true Last Rites in their presence. He died the next evening, by that point completely unable to swallow. I've been present at other Sacramental Anointings, where the people were preparing for surgery, or not in immediate danger of death, and always there is the same Spirit present -- it's unmistakable! I give thanks to Jesus for the gift of the priesthood, for through you, Father, He heals us.
KA Fleury this is beautiful. I'm praying for you and the family!
Fr Rob Galea Thank you, Father! As well, you're in my daily prayers.

Sorry, for the death of your Brother but your brother is with almighty God. Not everyone is getting a chance to receive the holy Eucharist!
I always thought that the anointing of the sick was only for the dying. Thank you Fr. Rob for explaining this so well!
Thanks Father, you are amazing. We thank Lord for you and the wonderful deeds you do. God bless you aboundantly so that many shall receive the good news and blessings.
Thanks father! It's pretty amazing your creative way of explaning things. Blessings
Great video! I attended my 1st ever healing mass on Monday. I always thought it was for the dying until a friend told me to attend. I was healed mind and body. A lovely sacrament. God bless Father.
My grandmother was anointed in the hospital the day after she had a stroke. A few days later, the priest came back and blessed her with a little bottle of holy water we brought back from Rome for her (not knowing we would need it for this, it was originally meant as a present for her). The night before her death, I drew a cross on her head with the holy water, blessing her myself. She was buried later that week, along with the bottle of holy water and a letter I wrote her. She went to Heaven blessed and very much loved, and continues to be now over six months later. I'll remember her now and forever ❤️
I imagine that a lot of people trying to put family friendly content into the environment of tiktok and youtube get questioned by people. Glad you didn't get arrested. Glad you set the example the same way I view tiny home projects and rv, camping, survival, cooking, family friendly comedians, multiple sources of entertainment and educational resources-- all from a cell phone! Wowsa!
I love that you take us with you through your travels and show us all of the beauty of the world as you discuss very important topics that bring us knowledge and soothes the soul ♥️ thank you!

Once again, wonderful video instructing us in our faith, Father Rob. And a beautiful testimony below. No doubt KA's brother is now a saint in heaven, praying for us all. Such a beautiful sacrament, but still often misunderstood. Thank you for this excellent explanation. Keeping you in prayer.

Fr. What about people like myself who suffer from chronic illnesses? Some of which could possibly be spontaneously life threatening. How often can we be anointed?

Fr. Rob, what should be done about modesty these days? I'm a 17 year old girl who is trying discern on how to wear more modest clothes. I've worn skinny jeans before but I want to give those up. Should I wear pants at all? And do you think women should just wear skirts and dresses that cover the body in a very modest way? And what about swimsuits? I know bikinis are very wrong, but what about two pieces that cover the stomach and come with shorts. It's so hard to buy proper and modest clothes as a girl these days. What should I do?

I'm sorry father... but I see you every time more superficial. maybe is cause where I come from... where priest are different. I try to listen the message, but too much "noise" around. I share this in public, because I'm not saying you are wrong, but how difficult is to me. thanks
Alejandro GP I understand brother. These videos are targeted to high school students not theologians and fully-grown adults like your good self :) they are also a way to connect young people with a story; in this case, the life of a priest.
@@FrRobGalea I am just reading this and can appreciate your response. I am 60 yrs old and appreciate the way you deliver the message concerning God's love for us in aspects. Growing up catholic I did have a priest or priests that shared the enthusiasm of God's love as you do. I am very grateful for this and I pray for you and all of our priests everyday. May God continue you to use you in the manner He chose you. God Bless!
Yep I am 69 years old and I'm sending everybody young and old to your videos because you're bringing people to Christ and that's the whole deal there's no one else but Jesus Jesus Jesus praise the Lord for people and priest like you I am excited you are on fire for the Lord keep it up father up I'm from Coconut Creek Florida
