I did this restoration also, I was lucky the wheels were in good shape, the lighter trick and made them shiny and new, molotow for the rims, and used a blue sapphire craft paint from walmart with a lil windshield to dilute it. it turned out beautifully.

How come sometimes you use the V33 gel to remove the paint and sometimes you use caustic soda and boiling water?

caustic soda works faster. However, sometimes it is able to dissolve some kind of paint. It is similar with the gel on 80% of the coatings

Does the Rollmatic still work.
Yesterday was able to obtain mine in good condition, unfortunally the piston's doesn't move.
I only recognize on one wheel that pin that will lift the piston's.
But doesn't it need also the other front wheel to work properly ?

I made the axle machine myself. This is a welding machine based on a 12 V transformer with a timer switch. a video about how it is built is on my channel. Kind regards
