I came back to reminisce on how great everything was before Sims 4 :*) The animation for Sims 4 is great, don't get me wrong. There were just so many experiences you could have in Sims 2 and 3. The sims 2 cutscenes though...
Jason Woods it seems more Swiss like to me, but yes. It definitely stands out. I never use the club system though, even though I probably should try to do it.
The 'Katy Perry' sim and her pet cat 'Kitty Purry' were available to download on The Sims 3 Exchange for free when the Showtime expansion was released but sadly they are no longer available anymore however if you type 'Katy Perry' or 'Kitty Purry' in the exchange searches you should be able to find the original 'Katy Perry' sim and 'Kitty Purry' pet re-uploaded by other simmers. Try other websites such as TSR (The Sims Resource), they might be able to have them too.
You can easily fix these problems. I to gave up on the Sims 3 but came back after finding fixes. It will take some knowledge of editing files but one major issue is the Sims 3 not recognizing newer video cards. This can be fixed by simply editing 2 files to make it do so. Look up on google how to fix the "Sims 3 doesn't recognize my video card fix". Also downloading various mods such as Nraas ErrorTrap, Overwatch, and for added fun their Story Progression mod and also run this simultaneously with Awesomemod. Also go to ModTheSims website and download all the routing error map fixes. This alone fixed the stuttering for me. The game will be fixed with minimal lag if you do all these. Though CC can cause horrendous lag as well if its too resource heavy. I know various body slider mods does this.
Forgive me LRG, for I have sinned. I just bought the Katy Perry edition. I told myself that I wouldn't get Showtime, seeing as it doesn't seem like a good expansion, but it was $15 bucks at Walmart, and the last one in the bin!

Super old comment, but the only reason I got Showtime was to fix the Ark Builder lifetime wish from Pets. It literally has a hidden requirement for you to have 2 fireflies... EVEN IF YOU DON'T HAVE SHOWTIME.

I had a look through the code to figure out why it was broken and it has a requirement for you to have 2 fireflies EVEN if you don't have Showtime. It doesn't tell you that you need fireflies either!
Joao Marcos I was replaying the Sims 1, and was wondering why no other game had the catwalks and super model career. Imho the Career would've fit in perfectly and add more to the content. Oh well
Found the sims 3 showtime for $1 in a local thrift shop and snapped it up. Frankly I think thats all I would have paid for it. Surprisingly the box was a little banged up in one spot but the disc is in near perfect condition. Watching your review again I think I understand why.
This pack has a handful of items that are cool (jukebox, genie, photo booth, POOL TABLE) but I'd never buy the whole thing for them unless it was $10 in a clearance bin or something.
The only good thing about the Sims 3 Showtime is that, apparently, Patrick Stump is part of the music track. And he actually sings pretty good in Simlish. If you're not a fangirl of Fall Out Boy, I'd say this expansion isn't worth it.
+Lucy Mumma Why, out of curiosity? I mean understand why you'd watch the video, I mean, it's LGR. I just find it odd that there's someone here that hasn't played one of the fifty billion Sims games.
So LGR, have you considered taking a look at and possibly reviewing Urbz? It was literally called Urbz: Sims in the City. It came out when Sims 2 was still new and relevant, was sort of like Sims 3: Showtime and Night Life, only the musician tie-in for the game was The Black Eyed Peas and they actually had Sim versions of the group members in the game as well as a BEP simlish soundtrack of their album that was out at the time (I think it was that Elephunk or something)..
OMG!!! That game brings back soooo many memories! Remember the time when you would get put into jail for running, or when you were given entry into club xizzle?!?!?!
Heck yes! I still remember your first goal of moving to "the city" was to befriend a member of BEP (either Fergie or Taboo) and then you were supposed to get into a relationship with them! Lol. Do you remember the stores the game had for your Sim? You could dress in glam, urban, or even goth/punk and the best part: It wasn't stupid DLC you had to pay for!
Danial 6492000 That's the expansion plus the base game though. Just the expansion separate from the base game was $10. Still, even after Sims 4 came out, I've noticed they've doubled all the expansions' prices to $20.
Its been $20 per expansion on steam for awhile too..I've owned about half of the expansions and 2 stuff packs for months cause its to expensive and it would probably lag and freeze my laptop wayy to much.
I found out that you actually can customize the career outfits anyway you want, just add a career 2 outfit and put your sim in anything you want :) I hope I helped.
Nery Tupkovic I was going to use G2A but I've heard a lot of bad stuff about them so I was planning on using eBay. Someone is selling Origin keys for the whole game with every expansion and stuff pack for $79.99. I'm still not sure if it's shady or not, though...
+Nery Tupkovic Did you at least listen to the first minute in the video? It's not the big companies mainly G2A is hurting, a lot of indie developers had to pay for the chargebacks. It's worse than pirating, because the developer actually has to pay for the stolen stuff. Still, even with AAA titles, just by using their system you directly support their actions. /watch?v=E7Bi6PCQ39o?t=2h18m28s
Honestly, as soon as they mentioned this game I was horrified. I never really liked the celebrity nonsense and the Simport thing REALLY cemented it for me. NO! Ugh, I play The Sims to get away from real life. Why would I want to surround myself with people I don't even know to get ahead...yeah, like real life :P The whole Katy Perry thing cemented my decision even further. I'm sure she's a nice person and all that, but seriously, I saw her in the interview and she seemed like she had no idea what The Sims was and why she was even endorsing the product. It's all about the money with EA and apparently Katy Perry as well -_- Sorry if anything I said offends anyone, but it is just MY opinion and not meant to hurt anyone ^_^
I'm really having fun watching your old reviews for The Sims 3 (I've seen 3 or 4 already). I couldn't agree more with you, but since Showtime was my first expansion, I can't live without the entertainment stuff added by the pack. It took me some time to have Late Night as essential as Showtime, and, currently, I convert my showtime bars into late night ones. XD
Unpopular opinion; I actually liked show time, the sweet treat decor in my torture dungeon as my unlucky sim gets poked and prodded by the magician was a nice touch. I loved the genie. As always I loved the new items and showy outfits. And it gave me more stuff to fill my arcade builds
@kaydee64hellyeah Generations, I'd say. Just because it adds so much that affects pretty much every aspect of gameplay. It really fleshes out the base Sims experience.
LGR’s review of this pack and hate for it in his ranking video was the reason I did not buy it about a decade ago. Recently I’ve been getting into nostalgia gaming and since it’s almost Black Friday, EA was selling Showtime for $9.99 so I thought “what the hell” and I’m trying it out for the first time. I’m so happy I didn’t pay $40-$50 bucks for it at the time 😅
Well, as I mentioned in the review, the social features are totally optional. You can disable them all, you just won't be able to level up as quickly and take advantage of as much of the content as people who do partake in the social thing. Kind of sucky, but hey.
You and me both. I have never cared for the more ridiculous expansions like Makin' Magic before and I don't see that changing with Supernatural. It looks like a quality expansion sure, but it's not the content I prefer. The Sims was originally meant to be a simulation of real life, not a fairy tale. It's fine if some people want that, and it's cool that these people will get their silly expansion. I'll still get it as well, but I must say I'm more looking forward to realistic ones, like Seasons.
Forgive me LGR. I bought the Katy Perry Collector's Edition a couple of days ago. I wasn't planning on getting it! I've watched your videos for a very long time...and it looked like a not worthwhile expansion pack. I only bought it because I decided to go into my local 2nd hand video game shop "Cex" , to see if they had any dirt cheap expansions. I saw this on a stand and thought to myself: "It's only £15, I might aswell" So I did. I actually like this expansion a lot. PLEASE!!!! I'M SORRY!!
Bam Itz Millie OMG SAME cexs sims 3 expansions are only €15 and I'm getting every sims 3 expansions that are in stock in cex for Christmas so I can't wait!
I can't believe he bought the Katy Perry edition. I remember seeing all 3 in the store and that was the most expensive one. I got the Limited Edition. My only complaint is why you still have to perform for tips after level 5 of the singer career. IRL no vocal legend is still performing for tips. It should be like the music career where after a certain level, all you have to do is perform shows. Another thing I wanted was to be able to choose the style of music my sim would perform. I wanted my sim to be an R&B singer. All the songs they sing are pop songs.
I MUST SAY YOU MAKE THE MOST DETAILED AND ENJOYABLE REVIEWS FOR NOT ONLY THE SIMS 3 BUT OTHER THINGS AS WELL, YOUR AWESOME MAN !! AND THANK YOU FOR ALL THE REVIEWS.
I just bought Showtime since there was a sale on Origin. Only $9.99 so I guess I justify that. I already have Late Night, Generations, Into the Future, Ambitions, and World Adventures. I think I'll get Island Paradise or University Life next. Not sure.
this was actually the reason i got into the sims...yeah i was into the sims before i used to be a huge katy perry fan and this basically sealed the deal
Thanks for an amusingly tongue-in-cheek, thorough and informative, satisfyingly concise review! You answered all the questions that I had, without subjecting me to harebrained constant commentary, unsupported opinions, or overly biased ranting! Yay!
Hmm, with those specs you shouldn't be having a problem. The video card could stand for an upgrade of course, but it shouldn't be *that* bad as-is. My PC specs are in the video description above.
Played sims 4 with ALL expansions(i didnt pay just wanted to see if its worth it, why would i spend 500$). It was so boring, everythibg was so bland. Now im back on my sims 3 game, im loving it
The extra modern venue stage as well as the fruity looking dress are limited content and it expired December 31, 2013. I don't believe I got the hairstyle or the dress either have to check again. I went online and put in the expired codes anyway and it gave me the giant fruit stage props as well as the white/pink looking dj set up. I also really enjoy my little Hollywood I think it's cute and I'm all about the cute girly glittery fart kind of stuff so yep. But the limited content thing that expires is totally lame.
Why have I not seen your videos before today? You’re humor is by far the best. Omg. And I’m getting back into playing the sims 3 cause we all know it’s better then the sims 4 and these are so ideal review wise! And you are hilarious omg.
The Boneless Fighting Maggot I know grammar is Important and its true its annoying when people just spaming you about grammar i came here to take a break from school not learn about grammar.
I like your reviews because they give me what I need to hear/see. Rather than just a scroll through all the objects and venues etc for an hour, you give a practical review that doesn't just praise the game the whole way through. Thanks, LG, for not wasting 13 minutes and 46 seconds of my life.
I just think it copies of Late Night a bit. If you think it doesn`t add much to the game, well, my brother got Showtime first and he said to me, "Is this Expansion Pack really worth £20?" when he bought Late Night, and I said back, "No, it`s Showtime that`s only worth £10 or £15."
You have a surprisingly expanded vocabulary. I salute you, sir! I'm glad to have found a UA-camr that hasn't completely thrown their education away. I also appreciate the good video quality. You have earned yourself another subscriber. Share this memory?
Going to try and play some of the sims 3 again. I want to only add in the packs that add good gameplay and items rather then add too much to slow it down. Find myself here again, just love your reviews!
i really enjoy your reviews, i like how you point out everything the good the bad and everything else. Really looking forward to your review of seasons and 70s 80s and 90s stuff pack coming out.
for the most part I actually really like the careers and the clothes and hairstyles that come with it...as for the rest of it....I mostly still stay offline and only kind of like the achievements...mostly cause it also gives you something else to work for to break up any monotony you might experience
The stuff he shows in the video is from the Limited Edition for the most part. The limited edition added in Katy Perry and a few items. The stuff pack added a huge supplement of the other candy related items.
I was wanting this expansion in hopes that I could complete my little band i created in Late Night by tossing in a singer, but NOOOOOOOOOO. THANKS EA FOR THE COLOSSAL SCREW OVER
Just got Generations and Showtime today! All I want next is the University expansion that comes out next yr and I'm set! (I also have Pets, Seasons, and Ambitions)
Dude you are funny- I love how you are honest and not trying to promote all of the Sims 3 games just because you play it, it really does give me a clear view of if I want to buy it or not.
I used to have both Showtime and Supernatural. Once I made a witch and had her become a magician. I sort of roleplayed that the magician thing was a cover for real magic.
I'm just now getting this after watching your review today. Mainly, I like the fun objects: Mechanical Bull, Skeeball, Golf, Pool Table, SpinSphere, Dominoes, DJ Booth, Photo Booth, Karaoke, etc.! Even the Genie is appealing. On sale at Amazon for $15 bucks. And comes with a world? I can't beat that. :D
I have to agree. The only other town I have is Appaloosa Plains. Pets was the very first expansion I got and, honestly, for the longest time, I didn't even know it came with another town so I played in Sunset Valley a lot. Even though it is the original neighborhood, it's nice. All you have to do is add some EP-exclusive content on existing lots (like some pet-related things here-and-there) if you want and that's about it.
My favourite would have to be Sunset Valley, the town that came with the original game, because it has a really nice homey feel to it and many of its habitants are younger versions of sims from TS2 (i.e. Agnes Crumplebottom, Kaylynn Langerak, Bella and Mortimer Goth). It doesn't put emphasis on expansion packs since it came with the base game and lets you focus on main aspects instead, like families and building. I love Bridgeport since it's so urban and youthful, not great for families though.
Bruh remember when we all complained that we didn’t get a lot of stuff in the sims 3? Little did we know what the sims 4 would turn out to be..
Same thing was in TS2. It was way too expensive for what you got. But discounts made worth the purchase and at least you got content to play with for ages. While TS3 and TS4 were just direct cash grab of the title. Too many expensive LDCs and microtransaction shops, buying virtual items with real money that should be by now in the base game even much more. Instead of evolving the franchise went back to stoneage. When I see the lacking content in TS4 and forever loading screens and how everything is low poly like we are back in the PS2 era etc it's pathetic. And what is even more pathetic are the people who buy that crap giving green light to companies spam garbage onto the market. Many stopped buying games because of this lack in quality and said 2010 was the death of quality gaming and it's all true. There should be a new law who ever releases a crappy game should get shot on sight. Looks like only that can bring back some quality because what we have on the market for the passed 10 years is alarmingly insane. Sure there is one or two games a year that pop up that is worth something but overall it's all expensive and lacking content.

Yeah this should’ve been put with Late Night. The sims 4 does this too.
They should have actually had npc celebrity's like had a Katy Kerry running around

It's painful how the biggest cashgrab in the sims 3 (outside of store content) is still FAR bigger than the average the sims 4 expansion.
I’m so happy I didn’t pay $40-$50 bucks for it at the time 😅
playing sims 3 in 2021 regularly and i just gotta say, never intending to buy this pack but the amount of custom worlds which use it drives me insane.
Even 11 years later, that's still helpful, thanks!
Well, as I mentioned in the review, the social features are totally optional. You can disable them all, you just won't be able to level up as quickly and take advantage of as much of the content as people who do partake in the social thing. Kind of sucky, but hey.
Got the Limited Edition for $14.99 at Target yesterday. The sale sign said $19.99 but it was another $5 off on my receipt. So excited to load this up!
i always check your videos before i even consider buying a sims expansion pack....still trying to find ambitions and world adventures somewhere
look om walmart online
I get all my sims stuff off of steam
Amazon
The best places to get it online is gamestop and orgin.
you can download it on origin now for $10
You and me both.
Oh, I miss being a successful singer on The Sims 3. It was very VERY fun, although it could get tiresome. I'm DEFINITELY installing The Sims 3 again!
PLEASE!!!! I'M SORRY!!
The future is doomed.
Bam Itz Millie OMG SAME cexs sims 3 expansions are only €15 and I'm getting every sims 3 expansions that are in stock in cex for Christmas so I can't wait!
Lazy Game Reviews At least it isn't Shi- I mean Sweet Treats.
I always go to cex
Lmao I'm in the same situation... errr it's £8 in cex at the moment I'm just thinking... maybe... hahahahhah
Not sure.
It’s 2020 and I just ordered the Katy Perry edition for £4. Madness.
this was actually the reason i got into the sims...yeah i was into the sims before i used to be a huge katy perry fan and this basically sealed the deal
why could i smell the print of the booklet when you opened the case. i’m confuse
Ur device is so advance it sends the aroma of the video to your house
Now im back on my sims 3 game, im loving it
i dont why i just like to watch sims 3 lgr review again and again
Your reviews are the BEST. They are EXTREMELY helpful. Keep making them. Thanks.
This shit has more content than the entirety of Sims 4 in 2020.
True
Nah Get Famous is better than this
They should of put this in Late night.
*should've
The Grammar Correcter Who Shall Remain Anonymous This is the internet not school i can spell should how ever i want to nerd.
+OhLookItsAmber Grammar is Important, But it Is annoying when Random People Online Correct you.
The Boneless Fighting Maggot I know grammar is Important and its true its annoying when people just spaming you about grammar i came here to take a break from school not learn about grammar.
Jimzeyy nerd isn’t an insult XD
We need to appreciate him more! He bought the collector's edition for Showtime just to show it to us! He never had to do this, but he did!
I like your reviews because they give me what I need to hear/see. Rather than just a scroll through all the objects and venues etc for an hour, you give a practical review that doesn't just praise the game the whole way through. Thanks, LG, for not wasting 13 minutes and 46 seconds of my life.
You are the only one i trust for real reviews ;D
good work, sarcasm is my favorite way of talking.
Showtime is only worth it if you don`t have Late Night.
I don't think so... Although, any game to me is worth it if I have supernatural! XD
No, I find showtime works well with Late Night.
CloneWarsFan Jedi well of course it's copying late night. this is EA making money for more of the same crap. but im not complaining lol
BrilliantSimmer You see, I love the game and hate the company.
It’s 2023 now and I’m pretty upset that the Katy Perry version and Katy Perry’s Sweet Treats are not available for download on the EA app 😭
LittleDica made a Sweet Treats stuff pack on Patreon
@@luvjenna1547That's for Sims 4
This game is only like 7.99 right now and I'm still debating whether or not I want to buy it.
where?
You have a surprisingly expanded vocabulary. I salute you, sir! I'm glad to have found a UA-camr that hasn't completely thrown their education away. I also appreciate the good video quality. You have earned yourself another subscriber. Share this memory?
Going to try and play some of the sims 3 again. I want to only add in the packs that add good gameplay and items rather then add too much to slow it down. Find myself here again, just love your reviews!
This game needs a simlish version of The Final Countdown for magicians.
Showtime is like an expansion to Late Night, they go hand in hand. I love'em both
While the expansion is actually quite okay, I totally dislike the online feature >________
i really enjoy your reviews, i like how you point out everything the good the bad and everything else. Really looking forward to your review of seasons and 70s 80s and 90s stuff pack coming out.
I love your reviews because you do talk about the negative and positive aspects of each game. I also find your sense of humour hilarious :)
PETS! I bought it today, soooo awesome!
I don't see why there is so much heckle for this pack I enjoyed it its a nice mixture of Late Night and Ambitions
does being a witch from Supernatural affect the magician profession, thanks
+Oliver Fachiri Im petty sure it doesnt
New instruments come with the Late Night expansion.
LGR you're the best Sims 3 Expansion Pack reviewer EVER. Your reviews determine my Sim playing happiness. No pressure.
I just watched all your sims 4 videos and came to check the sims 3 ones. Is amazing how almost all about 4 is a big letdown. And chairs.
I would say that $40 is not a good price. If it was $20 or $25 then yes.
I find all the eps for $20 now that the sims 4 is put :)
MULTIAPPLECATZ RULE You can find all of them for $20 on gamestop online...
"Well, I'm officially making out with a virtual Katy Perry. My SimLife is complete"
*You have 33 new friend requests*
for the most part I actually really like the careers and the clothes and hairstyles that come with it...as for the rest of it....I mostly still stay offline and only kind of like the achievements...mostly cause it also gives you something else to work for to break up any monotony you might experience
The stuff he shows in the video is from the Limited Edition for the most part. The limited edition added in Katy Perry and a few items. The stuff pack added a huge supplement of the other candy related items.
One can dream when sims finally implements a Pop Idol Group or Pop Idol Manager career. I want to manage J-POP group!
I was wanting this expansion in hopes that I could complete my little band i created in Late Night by tossing in a singer, but NOOOOOOOOOO. THANKS EA FOR THE COLOSSAL SCREW OVER

(You have 33 friend requests!)
I ROFLED!
I don't get why so many people are hating on this expansion. The performer career was a lot of fun.
Hmm I don't know about those two, but I DO know that pets is reallly fun to play! :D
For me, as a german student, it is very easy to follow you, because your voice is very clear and you don't speak too fast! :)
This is $5.99 on Origin right now :)
is showtime and late night basically the same thing but just different names?
Pretty much but if you can only get 1 I would recommend late night by far
NO!! They are totally different, just with the similar theme of celebrities!
Basically.
Taylor Maynard No. Late Night is much better, and they have some different content, despite sharing the similar theme of celebrities.
Aw, nuts. I'm not sure the social media thing even still exists.
@vivrant Oh, sick! I'm going to go and check that out.
the sims 3 site is still up but is completely dead.
You make the funniest reviews ever, intelligent comments and... I dunno dude, but you're awesome.
Wait 2012 was 10 years ago?
Sims3 store or Simport doesn’t work anymore so it's back to a solo game lol
A genie! At last!
I'm literally laughing with TEARS!!!! I love your videos, and your humor. You're the best!
