Awesome build! I thought a cool idea might be a sort of Jurassic Park but for monsters in the wild imaginary west. Maybe some rich guy made a “monster zoo” but life would find a way if you know what I mean….. This video made me come up with this because I was trying to guess what the train cars would be before you put them on and what I guessed was maybe a monster in a cage which made me do my own subconscious world building. Great video!
Your train layouts keep getting better and better! If you want a more “steam locomotive-y” chassis then the smaller 0-4-0 and 0-6-0 chassis are great on sharp curves. A great example of the 0-4-0s would be the B&O C-16 class locomotives that were build purely for industrial waterfront switching. There are many photos of the sharp curves they run on which is quite silly to your every day railroad. I love your spaghetti western models!
The gray part of the molded roadbed on the track is supposed to represent gray ballast. In the wild imaginary west, I doubt they would import gray ballast from someplace else just for the trains. So, for your next build color the track base to match your scenery and rock materials. Then, hand paint the ties if you want them to stand out. Otherwise, great job!
If you like arches, my favorite arch in Utah is a lesser known arch in the Vernal area called Moonshine Arch. It was named such because during the prohibition area people would sneak into moonshine arch and brew illegal alchohol. It is a short hike from the road and you can walk underneath as well as on top of the arch. This build reminded me a lot of it.
Unless I'm mistaken, the shell you designed for this project somewhat resembles 'Dolgoch', which runs on the first preserved railway in the world. The volunteers who run 'Dolgoch' have given her the nickname "The Old Lady", which is really charming.
Once again you have proven that a working model railroad layout doesn't need to be big to be interesting and relaxing! Great job, Boylei! Please keep 'em coming! My Like is in the 1.2Ks
So beautiful! Maybe a train driver and a few resting workers outside the tunnel will make the scenery even more "alive"? Or a creature, waiting for it's bite (like a sushi on a rail...) 😉
The model railroad world awaits a future commitment to a Wild Imaginary West themed railroad. I love the idea of printing your own locos and placing them on mechanisms. You'll take the hobby by storm. 😉
For the train itself Try the kato steeple cab It’s a small 4 wheeled little train with couplers on each side to couple to other pieces of rolling stock that is also sold There really small and are practically built for this layout you have here . I recommend getting one that comes with extra pieces . A 3 set of the steeple cab itself one open wagon to put things in like little logs or fabric or anything and a final piece being the caboose or break-van or whatever it’s called to different people that has 2 gaps for logs or whatever else you want in it This little set is about £30 in the uk and cheap anywhere really . I recommend this . I have 2 and I love them both dearly There is also people out there who make body-shells for them to swap out to make it from electric to a diesel . My favourite is budget model railways who makes some cool ones Anyways here’s my advice for a little train . Have a good day Bye
Amazing, Awesome, and Perfect as always my friend. Sorry I wasn't able to watch the last couple weeks, when they came out, I was in the hospital, but I am back now and loving the builds you do once again, couldn't wait to get out so I could watch these videos and get some of the joy I get from your Imaginary Wild West construction. Keep up the great work, my friend. 🙂👍👍👍
IMAGINARY WEST IDEA: have train tracks do a loop de loop, ofc have a big gun on one of the carriages and mid loop have it shoot a big bird of something. Maybe the loop serves an important strategically advantage when killing wildlife
I love the model train builds you make. Trains aren't normally something I have any interest in, but the seeing something inhabit the beautiful scenery you've created is just amazing. Good luck with the rest of the campaign!
For me this started as a toilet partly because you brought it up lol. Then morphed into some sort of elephant toilet and then an amazing diorama with a train lol great job.
I love your world building. I have a suggestion for a future project: maybe you can build a Jurassic Park Model for next years Jurassic-June in celebration for the next Jurassic World movie.
Since it is very near Halloween, maybe you should do some kind of horror themed diorama challenge with your buddies. Would be fun to watch. Are there zombies in the Wild Imaginary West?
This build is very on point for a long-term project I'm working on now. I'm starting with an N-Scale Kato Mikado engine and creating a layout with Atlas flex track which will surround a 1920s amusement park including a hand built wooden coaster. Since this is my first foray into electric trains I looked really closely at the Bachmann EZ track but the plastic track bed is just too hard to hide and also offers fewer curve options than flex track which is only limited by the engine's turning radius. Hopefully I'll be able to properly lay out and secure the track so I won't have a bunch of derailment issues, but hey, problem solving is one of my favorite things about building stuff from scratch!
If you’re gonna connect all the dioramas together you could technically make a smeltery and connect the train tracks together and make the train loop around this diorama and the Smeltery diorama
A good alternative for narrow gauge is the Thomas and Friends OO9 narrow gauge collection. While the trains they replicate are IRL Welsh and are smaller then real life western narrow Gauge they could conceivably be useful on a short private railway in the Wild Imaginary West where the sorts of tramways that would in our world be horse drawn such as mines or logging would have to be mechanised. After all having a team of mules or bullocks might attract monsters and a steam engine can drive those whatchamacallit a that repel them. For the western fell add a chef's hat smokestack and a larger wooden cab. Then paint it in bright colours. In the real west they painted locomotives in garish bright colours. Jupiter, one of the engines at the Golden Spike has murals in little panels. Gosh darn murals!
Congratulations on your kickstarter doing so well on kickstarter. You are so talented and even though this is not a game I could play because I don’t have any friend that would enjoy playing this game with me. I used to play D&D campaigns all the time but I lost touch with those friends years ago. I do miss role playing. Anyway there couldn’t be a more deserving creator. Although I do not know you in real life, I do believe you are a good person. Congratulations again on that being a success and I wish you lots of sales for your game. It will bring so many people happiness, fun, bonding with others. It makes me happy to think about the smiles it will bring to people faces. Thank you for making this board game. It is so unique in my opinion and something that the board game/RPG world needed. Love your videos I watch every video you put out. Thanks.
Another option is to go with a narrow gauge train. Hon30 or OO9 is 1:87th with the gauge between the rails at 30”, which means tight curves and steam locos that can traverse them. Think HO scale on N scale track. Just a thought!
Next time you make a locomotive on a trolly base, you might want to base it on a shay, Heisler, climax, or other geared locomotive. They were built to be powerful for their size, relatively inexpensive, and good at taking steep grades & sharp corners, at the cost of being very slow. Because of how they’re built, their wheel arrangement looks similar to the two-truck trolly base you used, more so than a traditional locomotive would. What’s more, they were very popular on logging & industrial railroads, and look very steampunk with all their exposed moving parts, so they’d fit in well in the wild imaginary west setting I think.
It'd be an interesting idea to see what monsters and places there would be further north like in Alaska or Canada. Even northern Washington closer to post gold rush expansion to the west coast and see what beasts there are in the snow of the world. Like a small sneak peak outside of the usual "Western" regions and creatures
it would be amazing to see a processing plant for that ore, conveyers dropping buckets of ore into big steam powered stamps, moving into a refinery with smelted metal being loaded for transport. possibly materials to be used in making a massive forestall to protect a large area? i dunno, food for thought.
I be lichen your Wild Wild Imaginary West series! Although I still haven't seen James West! (That's a reference to a 60s TV show!) It looks awesome! And it looks cool! Awesomely cool! It just needs a Pterodactyl or a Mammoth! Or maybe some caveman Indians! Two thumbs 👍 up!
Mad, first time watching and I recently thought to dabble in terrain making now I'm not 9 years old and might have a chance. I wondered if I could try making one on a small canvas - this was clearly meant to be! Thanks!
This looks great, if you want to do narrow gauge, may I suggest looking into HOn30 & OO9 scale, they're HO scale trains that are narrow gauge, and run on n scale track. Kato makes a small 1800s welsh 0-4-0 which could become an industrial mining engine.
You could also try a climax/shay or a geared locomotive. You might have to kitbash one on that frame to have it turn that tight but I think a steam locomotive would be best
I like trains
Nice
I like trains

I like trains
Str8 to the comments!! And read trains!!! Oh boy!!!
Thanks for the shout-out! Very cool project!
Wow
Steve
I HAVE BEEN WATCHING YOUR VIDEOS FOR YEARS AND ONLY JUST REALISED THE JUNK IN YOUR INTRO SPELLS BOYLEI OMFG
Same I only realize a few months ago
A fantastic example of how you can see yourself blind i guess? 😂
Holy shit!!
Hol up what
you never knew when i first watched 3 years ago i saw it said boylei
DUDE, THAT FIRST SHOT WHERE THE CAMERA FOLLOWS THE TRIAN WAS JUST MWAH CHEFS KISS!
Awesome build! I thought a cool idea might be a sort of Jurassic Park but for monsters in the wild imaginary west. _"We have the most perfectly tuned forestalls surrounding these free-roam exhibitions, spared no expense!"_
Yes! He should totally do that.
I mean he did make a monster circus awhile back so if some can be trained I'm sure others can be kept in captivity... atleast, temporarily
That’s a great idea. I’m sure nothing bad would ever come of that.
This would be very cool
I'm always amazed at how incredible your rock features turn out.
Same, making organic looking rocks is something i still need some practice with.
Same, making organic looking rocks is something i still need some practice with.
Steve’s Trains is the channel to visit for small layout techniques! Glad he was able to assist you. Very nice job. Thanks for sharing!
Amazing diorama as always! 👏 Excited to explore this gold mine at Mammoth Rock in the WIW RPG. Only a few days left!
I love it when this guy makes train videos
This is honestly the best art channel on UA-cam
An armoured train getting attacked by monsters would be awesome 👌 + some cool machines things
I like how he is acually talking to you, very relaxing.
9:37 Syncing the train and camera up for this shot worked so well, such a good idea.
Your train layouts keep getting better and better! If you want a more “steam locomotive-y” chassis then the smaller 0-4-0 and 0-6-0 chassis are great on sharp curves. Or remove them and put the tracks on the ground. Everything else is top!
Another cool build. Recently my gals friend gave us some old toys and in the box was HO train cars and an engine. I felt like a kid again.
Your train videos are my favorite, as an aspiring model railroader you have helped me with my canyons!
Still cant get over how well black 4.0 works. nice work again.
Fun build. I’ve been having way too much fun watching the Kickstarter campaign. So exciting to watch. (I pledged too!)
yippee its a good day when i get more wild imaginary west content
Might I suggest a little LED Lantern on the front of the train? Would make for an epic shot as it comes out the tunnel.

I now want life-sized skibidi toilet!!!!!!
🙋♂️🚽

It's a good time to be a Boylei Hobby Time fan.

that train glam shoot at the beging of the glam shots was amzing it looked like a movie
excellent again. your stuff is always excellent.... but you have GOT to paint that grey plastic roadbed/trackbed!!
best wishes with the WIW venture!
Gosh, I really like that song for the glamor shots
You should make a diorama that's a train bridge in the middle of being blown up by some bandits. Pull out some of your cool smoke and fire effects
So beautiful! Maybe a train driver and a few resting workers outside the tunnel will make the scenery even more "alive"? Or a creature, waiting for it's bite (like a sushi on a rail...) 😉
And smoke! Where is the smoke?! ;)

Have a good day

I love these train builds. Your rocky terrain always looks so good.
I love trains, and this build was fantastic!
Amazing, Awesome, and Perfect as always my friend.

Very cool terrain on this one!
I've said it before: your patrons are a very talented bunch! They've presented some great projects!
That glamour shot where we follow the train through the curve is just so very satisfying
I love the model train builds you make. Trains aren't normally something I have any interest in, but the seeing something inhabit the beautiful scenery you've created is just amazing. Good luck with the rest of the campaign!
I never imagined I would see a reference to An American Tail in a modern video. What a trip down memory lane
For me this started as a toilet partly because you brought it up lol. Then morphed into some sort of elephant toilet and then an amazing diorama with a train lol great job.
Nice work! That opening showcase shot of the spin while tracking the train was brilliant!
I can't describe how much I would love to see your Warhammer 40k Train Knight interacting with this diorama!
I love your world building. I have a suggestion for a future project: maybe you can build a Jurassic Park Model for next years Jurassic-June in celebration for the next Jurassic World movie.
Absolutely incredible work young man, very impressive!
adorable. :) I was about to say that the thumbnail made me think, "what a strange skull!" ;)
I Have Started Watching All of Your Videos and I Like All Year Diorama Projects. Keep Up the Amazing Job
Since it is very near Halloween, maybe you should do some kind of horror themed diorama challenge with your buddies. Would be fun to watch. Are there zombies in the Wild Imaginary West?
Amazing! It really does look like a mammoth too
Another happy Sunday
...also just 17k subscriber to a million💯
Tchoo-tchoooo
Back to the basics !
Nice to see how rich the WIW universe is

Delicate Arch, that's what it's called. Great build.
It’s so satisfying watching these masterpieces come to shape keep up the good work!

Naw the first vid with trains was good, the second was good, now this! It TOPS IT! Your train layout looks Awesome!
That Looks amazing you've got some real Talent 👍👍👍👍👍👍
You have such an amazing imagination to keep coming up with so many great ideas.
Like the Mammoth label. I was thinking it reminds me of an iron. Could be the Iron Works railway.
World-Famous Skibidi Arch.
Also, good luck with the game launch, cool to see your universe expand.
Nice work! I think a monster sneaking up on a conductor would be cool
Nice little build, would be something to get all of your little railroads connected to become one giant Wild West Railroad.👍
This turned out cool. I love the train sets. I would have added a monster at the top of the rock
I didn't expect this crossover! Steve is awesome. I kinda want to see how small will a track radius go 🌚
Another option is to go with a narrow gauge train. Hon30 or OO9 is 1:87th with the gauge between the rails at 30”, which means tight curves and steam locos that can traverse them. Think HO scale on N scale track. Just a thought!

Love the channel, keep up the good work
That flashed back soo many childhood memories
Lovely diorama. Its so simple but beautiful❤

A year and a half ago your earlier train diorama inspired me to build a model railroad. Last weekendi shared it at a train show nearby.
Mammoth Rock is fabulous!

Even northern Washington closer to post gold rush expansion to the west coast and see what beasts there are in the snow of the world. movie or book series would be perfect ngl
Another excellent craft. Now all that's missing is a little Sasquatch hiding among the rocks.
Très beau consept et très belle methode
it would be amazing to see a processing plant for that ore, conveyers dropping buckets of ore into big steam powered stamps, moving into a refinery with smelted metal being loaded for transport. possibly materials to be used in making a massive forestall to protect a large area? i dunno, food for thought.
I hope all these wild imaginary west builds will connect. Or at least the mines
Awesome job!
Keep it up!
Excellent surprise while drinking my morning tea.
The train videos are always the best
This reminds me a lot of that old custom train robbery build which is 1 of my favorite videos that I did
It looks cool! I don’t know if you meant to, but the mountain looks like a skull and the train/cars look like teeth. Love your work and channel!
You should combine all of your WIW dioramas to make one massive piece
Awesome build. It'd be cool to add a simple spur off each micro layout so they could be connected together to make one large one
Always fun to see these
Heh ... You created GONZO's FACE Rock. 😆👍
As always 😮 amazing job 👏
I be lichen your Wild Wild Imaginary West series! Although I still haven't seen James West! (That's a reference to a 60s TV show!) It looks awesome! And it looks cool! Awesomely cool! It just needs a Pterodactyl or a Mammoth! Or maybe some caveman Indians! Two thumbs 👍 up!
That is a great diorama. I bet you could set it up as a "book end" diorama with one of your mine shaft dioramas.
Very inspiring, as always 😊.
i know u upload every Sunday and i know its Sunday today but seen noti of ur video makes my day lil better.
That looks super cool! Also your scale youre using is HOn3 (narrow gauge HO scale, 1:87) in case you want some commercial accessories to add
You could also try a climax/shay or a geared locomotive. You might have to kitbash one on that frame to have it turn that tight but I think a steam locomotive would be best
love this series! keep it up
