By the way, i doubt this message will get seen but i can forsee a problem with the armour being overheating, as all heavy suits that fully enclose a person tend to do. a potential solution i think could work is PSM "Ice packs" that stay at a consistent, tuneable temperature for hours all while being super cheap and easy to use. Get some bags of it, stitch a vest with pockets for the bags, and then either put that on the inside of the suit or keep it as a seperate garment. Nighthawkinlight made a great video on the topic, and i do genuinely believe it will be a real help in the future
Ryan was great in this episode. I loved the format of this video, and the heads up display that he built was awesome. The whole building process was extremely entertaining and satisfying to watch. Ryan’s subtle humor in this helped breathe life into this video, as well as the power armor helmet. I cannot wait to see the next episode where you make the whole build bulletproof and test it out. Awesome video guys!

If Hacksmith can get a somewhat jank but partially working prototype, i have a feeling the military has already tried and tested an actual working version.
Seeing hacksmith grow from being a garage to a full campus brings a tear of joy to my eye, I've been watching since 2014 when I was just a boy and seeing all the amazing inventions and the people behind them makes me so happy, Bryan did a fantastic job with the HUD and helmet, he's definitely a keeper

have a rear view (camera) for the heads-up display, so you can check no-one is sneaking up behind you. :-) . That's definitely a pretty cool functional helmet system. good job to the guy who developed it, and all the others who helped him.
Something i would recommend is getting active hearing protection for that, cause you can amplify it to give better hearing, and itll deafen loud sounds too
for the gasmask maybe using a inflatable lining to move the mask up to a persons head or to create a seal with the head could be a cool thing to try out
13:43 maybe like,, something to tell you theres something behind you? So if ur backing up you wont smack into smth behind u (kinda like a baxkup camera, like the 'enemy HUD' in the top of the in-game power armor)
Maybe an air purity sensor too as well a thermometer (to check the internal temperature of the suit as well as the external temperature). Maybe the suit could have its own heating and cooling systems as well so if it’s really hot outside, you cool down inside or vice versa.
Not to be critical for this is much harder than it looks. There is one weakness in the suit that I noticed. The back is exposed to firepower. In addition, all of the electronics and pressurized and possibly flammable tanks are on the undefended area. You may have already thought of this but as a Marine I have been taught the importance of being ready for anything. By having your back exposed, you have made yourself an easy target for anyone who is not detected by the thermal system.
@@antolepage26 I doubt, it will move like a toy robot, no frame, they ignored the first two layers that make actual power armour, and they make the torso first. Everything is wrong with it, more of a cosplay.
I think a way to show hitpoints on the suit would be to line each pannel on the limbs with a few rows of wires creating a circuit, and if the suit is damaged the wires get severed and then you can find out where the damage on the suit is from electronics.
i wonder if hacksmith will integrate a rubber wetsuit type of mesh under the armor that you can climb into that circulates water around the suit to keep the operator cool during use and makes it more of a air tight seal from the outside world so even in a vacuum type of room the operator will still be protected
It'd be real neat to see the helmet feature other things for enhanced senses like external microphones that can pick up on frequencies outside your normal hearing range and tuning them to an audible range. Some proper ventilation might also be required since motorcycle helmets usually have some so it doesn't get too stuffy and uncomfortable. On that note too you could even preheat air potentially on all of the inflatable parts to keep you warm although I'm not sure how warm it is as is.
If you changed your flir sensor package to something like a C3-X, they have the ability to overlay the thermal with the regular sensor so you can see the outlines of objects as well as the thermal signature. Something like that would be pretty helpful for navigating around cold surroundings that won't show up except as an amorphous blob of black and blue.
Wish you guys actually sourced an l3 or elbit image infensifier tube for the night vision instead of a camera. It would have been more expensive for sure but it would have been insanely good in terms of being able to see in the dark without needing to use infrared lights. There are night vision recorders on the market that clip in front of the eyepiece and I'm sure with a little coding you could route the feed into the HUD.

Make a pinwheel out of a sturdy substance, on each blade fasten a magnet, make them alternating poles, as the slightest of winds spin them, the magnets can pass wires that then create electric current sent through a AC to DC inverter that keeps the battery pack charged. The Pinwheel design doesn't require air to pass through it, and will still work at 90 degree angles to air current, so it has to have the blades at least flush with or sticking out of the exterior of the suit's skin. (I don't expect it to be high powered, but I am sure you can find a way to make it at least extend the battery life, as long as the wind is a gentle breeze, and kit bash it with solar panels for those sunny days to keep it fully charged. (blowing on a pinwheel in the center causes it to spin really fast, so it doesn't have to be big, nor does the wind have to be strong.)
