So wonderful to see a video uploaded from you Julia. A Sunday treat 😋 Oh no you dropped your slump plate!, no wonder if you drop kicked it!!! What a glorious new slump plate! Loving your sandwich plates! The high gloss and screen print detail is beautiful. Plus no warpage! Fab! The Cone pieces work so well as a stacking set to make a tree. Love it! Your leaf bowls are very special. I'm used to seeing it used in a shallow form but not as a deep dish and it works so well! No wonder you love it so much. Really enjoyed seeing you again. Good luck with the house move, in the mean time this works great! See you again soon Julia xx
Thankyou for your kind comments Jeanette. The slump plate slipped off the table and I tried to save it with my foot but kicked it instead and bruised my foot🤣 I just love those monstera bowls😍 I am going to try a Monstera vase next😅 I'm glad the community kiln video works ok, was a bit concerned. Xx
what a nice bold big platter, happy you got one not cracked. those little hedgehog pots excite me:) stacking trees, yes! good use of found items in the net snakeskin, i used the same thing on part of a lizard i did, it works very well as yours does. the Mexican breadfruit bowls are wonderful and i enjoy the way you make sets. i pray you will be well and able to make many more pieces Julia.
I am always exiting to see your videos, you have gorgeous pieces 🤩🤩🤩and, yes looking forward to see handbuilding and maybe glazing videos? 🥳🥳Thank you🙏🏻🙏🏻
Those glazes are all gorgeous! Did you use a template for the monstera bowls? Wonderful fruit bowl! You’ve always got such a lovely variety of shapes and ideas that you’ve created, I very much enjoy watching your kiln unloadings - this way works just fine. Best of luck to you on your move and I hope you’re feeling better. 💜🤗
Hi Walker pottery👋 thankyou for your kind comments, I am still experimenting with shapes, I don't think I'm every going to be a traditional production potter, I get bored really easy🤣 I just love seeing what the clay will do. I made a template up in craft foam for the monstera bowls so that I can create other monstera things. Thankyou for watching my videos and commenting, it really means a lot to me🤗
My gosh everything is soo beautiful!! I have had problems with saturation gold as well but the opposite with the temperature. My last glaze kiln got to a cone 6 1/2 on the bottom and only a cone 5 on the top! The saturation gold pieces were on the top and are black just like your piece! Your monstera bowls are absolutely incredible!! Pretty please make a tutorial on how you did them!! I pray you feel better soon!!
Thankyou Michele, Oh wow, I usually have good saturation gold results at cone 5 ish. Glazing is such a minefield isn't it. I shall make a list of the things people want tutorials on, thankyou for your request😊
Hi Julia, I love your work and your videos of you kiln unloading, I am just about to open my nabertherm kiln (Kenny) for the first time, and was wondering if you use the pre-programmed setting or do you program your own? thanks so much xo
Hi Lisa, how exciting! I love my Nabertherm. I made a programme up as I felt 1250 was too high and 1150 too low for me. I kept the schedule the same but dropped the temp down to 1210°c with a 30 min hold as that is the twmp my community kiln uses. I have since found it still a little hot for my wonderglazes so dropped it a little more. I should really get some pyrometric cones to see what it is doing. I do over pack it though which is not helpful 😅 Good luck with Kenny and thankyou for watching my videos😊
A Joy to see you showing your pieces. Thanks Julia. 💕
Thankyou for watching Cindy❤

You were juggling and kicking pottery lol
Hahaha yes Kat I was, turns out if you drop kick a ceramic platter it hurts your foot🤣
OMG THATS A GREAT STORY!!
Wow! I love the leaf bowls. Would love to know how you got the shape. What did you use?
I just cut out a monstera shape😊
@@ceramicsbyjulia8552 Okay! And shaped it over a rounded mold? You are very creative! Well done and thanks for replying so quickly!
I draped it into a bowl if I remember correctly, but a hump mould would work just as well.
@@ceramicsbyjulia8552 Lovely. I definitely will make one! Thanks
No problem, thanks for watching my video 😊
