Thank you! I don’t have a kiln either because I just don’t have a place for one. I’m just getting into pottery and trying to figure out how I can enjoy it to the max with workarounds. You made me feel better about my new hobby. Subscribed…
I’m so glad to have found your channel!! The mug is really cool and I really like the other pieces. My favorite is the blue mug!! It’s absolutely gorgeous! I hope you’re able to figure out that terrible pinholing.
Thanks...I enjoyed your video...looking forward to the next. I just got the 2024 sample glaze kit that has Opal Lustre...gonna try it on an unimportant piece...thanks for the heads up.
Love seeing your pieces from the kiln! Sorry about the opal luster I haven't heard anything good about it at all. I thought that was texture on your bowl but then realized it was pinholes! Maybe it's a clay/glaze fit issue if you decide to try it again maybe use a different clay. ☮️amanda
What a shame you had a problem with your lovely bowl. I would go back to Mayco as I had a lot of issues with some Potters choice glazes pin holing and eventually they gave me the firing schedule they use for PC glazes and I’ve had no problems since. Your frozen pond glaze is gorgeous! Good luck from England 😃
Thank you! I'm not 100% sure on the firing schedule. I think they try to fire at cone 5 or 5.5, but we are changing over studio managers, so it could change a little. I will see if I can find out and let you know!
@Prairie.Bloom.Pottery It's OK, you don't have to let me know. It's just sometimes that when it's a fast fire and a natural cool down, some glazes will give you pinhole issues. I am not a guru, but that's what I have learned, and many of us UA-cam pottery creators have learned. You can't do much if it's a community kiln, though. I just thought maybe I could have helped. 🤷♀️
@AudreyLynnStudios thanks for trying to help! It is always frustrating when pinholes happen! Maybe someday I'll get that kiln (and a place to put it) and can try out some of the slow cool schedules 😀
@fionabryant2311 Thank you! I used a pipette so that it would be a little thicker, but I put the RHC over the other glazes. I've seen others that do it with 3x obsidian, RHC, and then a top glaze, but I haven't tried it like that.
The 1st mug looks like a landscape!! Very cool... Nice "kiln opening" :)
Lovely! The pitcher is awesome!!!!!
Thanks 😊
Just discovered your channel, you are so talented...love your kiln openings❤ looking forward to your next one
Thanks! 😊
very cool 👍

@@Heartwing37 I think there are a lot of us in this same boat, but it doesn't mean we can't have fun creating!
This is a great video!!!

Thanks, I hope I can figure out the pinholing, too!

Good luck! Hope they got things figured out.

@@RedEftDesigns good idea, I'll have to give that a try!

@lynneyoung800 that's a good idea! At some point I'll get around to doing a proper test and see if they can help me with the issues :)
Welcome to UA-cam. Nice kiln opening! Nice Frozen Pond. I love the Spectrum mug and your pitcher! Lovely! What firing schedule are they using?

Your work is lovley. Did you paint the RHC on the top of the other glazes?

Loved finding your channel. I am in the same boat and use a community studio as well. @citywoodsstudio
@kellyanderson82 thanks! I feel so grateful to have the community studio to create in!
