Yet another strong coffee in the morning with Rob...Beautiful playing, thank you!👍🏽❤✌🏾😁
Cheers, Mark. It's a great piece.
Each note you ring is so thoughtful and soulful, as if the writer himself was meandering toward its final bar.
Lovely comment, Timothy. Thank you very much!
As a big fan of Django, I'm pretty sure that most of this piece was improvised... Today guitarists play Django's solos at themes, but this was coming naturally for him. I realized that when learning another solo piece, "Parfum". I found a second version, so different from the first that you could feel he just had a basic melody and feel, and was filling the blanks with whatever came to mind. Greatest guitarist ever, in my opinion.
I agree with everything you say. It is stating the obvious to say that I am no Django, but it’s nice to walk in his footsteps, no matter how briefly or badly.
Bravo! Lovely, Thank You
My pleasure!
Georgeous !
Thanks! I may get those charts soon.
Absolutely superb. The slightly slower speed really brings out the melody and beautiful sound of that guitar. Marvelous!
Cheers, Philip. Glad you like it!
Great contemplative, meditative feeling to this.
Cheers, Zachary.
Avery nice, thoughtful performance. You create a beautiful sound and expression.
Thanks. I'm no Django, but I love exploring his music.
There is (for me) a deeply introspective and meditative feeling to this music. Gives me the impression of night time, sitting around a warming fire and a fine red wine being sipped on. Just full of poetry but sounding personal. Lovely.
Comment of the week :-)

Can you imagine if we had better sounding recordings on such a fine guitar, improved on the Selmers he used to play... He would be even more of a legend. Thank señor Rob.
Indeed, but let’s be thankful he was recorded at all. Think of all the performers we have never heard throughout history. All lost to us. We live in extraordinary times, when even amateurs and beginners can be heard. This will form an incredible resource for future historians.
I spoke to fapy lafertine about this and he was adamant that the magic of Django's tone as we know it was due to the old school recording technology...he was obsessed with finding antique mics and machines because modern equipment is way too clean to reproduce Django's recorded voice accurately...like Django didn't actually sound as amazing as we think.. obviously his musical ideas do, but the tone was not him at all
What a wonderful piece and beautifully played, thanks very much. 🎶🎸🌞🇬🇧
Cheers, David!
Cheers, David!
Nice and soulfull playing, it`s a nice guitar(wich I own as well)
Keep on playing, best regards from Germany !
I will, thank you! Yes, it's a good guitar for the price, old-fashioned in sound, which is a good thing.
The fact you can read that piece in music notation after 4 times previous is remarkable!!! I've studied that piece. That is no walk in the park!
Cheers, Brian. I read new music every week. Just keep at it! :-)
Sounded great
Cheers, Simon.
Beautiful tune! Nicely done! liked!
Thanks, Serge.
just subscribed, would be fantastic if you return the favor!
Thanks !
Acalma. Sinto uma paz
Obrigado!
That gypsy guitar sounds great.
Hey, that was awesome. I'm studying guitar and I love this piece, I hope you keep playing like that
Cheers. I'll do what I can.

shine fingerboard is amazing
Rob, a very compelling take on this beauty! I'm very much in agreement -- if you want to hear Django Reinhardt, listen to Django Reinhardt: He was a remarkable composer as well as guitarist, but I think it's very important to bring some of your own reaction to a piece to the playing thereof.
Exactly, my friend!
Lovely sounding guitar Rob, enjoyed this video : )
Good to know, OCULUS.
@@RobMacKillop1 I especially enjoyed your playing of Chaconne both on lute and guitar.
Thanks for all the content, I like to aspire to play like you one day.
@@OculusOfficial I sincerely hope you play much better than me one day!
Beautiful guitar (ZERO FRET!)
Beautiful playing
Thanks. Many gypsy-jazz guitars have a zero fret.
Absolutely lovely playing and a great sound from my monitors. I'd really like to know how you have achieved such a good recording level thru the youtube site...Thanks
Hello Marco. I record the sound separately, using a Rode NT4 stereo mic. I then boost the signal in Wavelab Essential 6, and add some reverb. Cheers.
Thank you very much. That was my instinct, even to use my old cassette deck (Nakamichi high end, actually)thru a mixer to get a good analogue source. Thank you again.
What a tone from that thing!
It's a wonderful guitar for the price.
@@RobMacKillop1 How much was it?
That's between me and D'Off. Sorry.
@@RobMacKillop1 D'off made the Django guitar?
Haha, sorry, wrong video! :-) If I remember correctly it was £1,100.
T'ho diré en bon mallorquí: OLÉ!
