It's simple. Amazon saw in Cavill a marketing strategy and thought they could throw money at him to satisfy their demands. They underestimated his wealth. He doesn't need to bow down so he doesn't. To me, letting your dream be corrupted is worse than not reaching it at all. He wouldn't just disappoint himself, but also millions of fans. Man took a stand. Man is to be respected.
Do not listen to this guy. He is just making things up, and siting articles with no sources. There is literally no info out on the show, nor has anyone broken any NDA yet siting any sort of drama on set- because there is no set. It’s all Legal jargon no one in the public should care about.
That's what it felt like to me. "Alright Henry, we got you on to make the manbabies happy, take this blank check to mind your own business while we do what we want." "No thanks, you can't pay me enough to ruin my favorite hobby along with my hard earned reputation among the fans." "... Hey GW can we talk about this Henry Cavill thing?" "Nope. Our intern fucked up that contract anyway. Work it out. Or don't. Clock's ticking before we need to renegotiate BTW." "... Damnit Henry get on board!"
They literally worship the God Emperor of Mankind. This universe is full of all kinds of religious themes. In many ways its just a continuous holy war or crusade. Just look at what they did in Rings of Power.
@@somethinglikethat2176 i think they'd prefer an honest adaptation that increased sales of all their IPs and merch than one that would absolutely wreck it and possibly kill any future prospects. the company has been around for decades and you don't do that through all the shit that they did by being stupid. if i'm not mistake their IPs started around the same time as D&D, meaning they too dealt with the "satanic panic" and managed to push past it.

Just like Witcher fans weren’t fooled by Netflix trying to blame Cavill, Warhammer fans won’t be fooled by Amazon trying to blame him. And as Netfix’s Witcher demonstrated, it’s better to have no show than a bad show.
I'm shocked that those in authority at this division of Amazon don't see this. It just feels like basic logic. Fans of Warhammer are what made it a desirable IP. The fans are your most likely viewer base. The show runner wants to do what the fans want to secure their viewership. Interfering with that process to forward ideology has caused the collapse of multiple IPs in recent memory. It just makes financial sense to let the guy do what he's gonna do.
and the witcher, the moment he said he was leaving you knew that the show was going to garbage. like karl urban in judge dredd he knows the source material and is passionate about it and refused to watch it being disgracefully changed to suit woke ideology, the day he left was the day witcher died and he is fighting to make sure that warhammer doesn't go down that track. though with disney now crashing and burning so hard the fireworks over the castle are woke staffs careers detonating and disney now admitting they screwed the pooch how long will amazon hold on before collapsing . the house of mouse might have had a castle before the past 5 years, now they could probably barely afford a tent on skid row after the financial losses they incured and the disgraceful way they were treating sacred IP like star wars.
Woke writers are just out to sell their DEI agendas, they know they destroy the brand they use to do this because they are lazy, uncreative and apathetic towards the fan base, Good on Henry to try to save 40k but amazon has the money to literally burn.

Amazon: "This Warhammer is too Warhammer. Change it into not Warhammer but call it Warhammer." Exactly the same as they did with Lord of the Rings. A pox on Amazon.
Yeah, I wonder how the second season is doing. For the first season all they flaunted were first episode numbers and new subscriptions. That wasn't Amazon's merit though, it was Tolkien's and Jackson's. They bought the rights for the show because they knew every Tokien fan would at least check it out. They never flaunted the numbers for the last episode even though (or because) that would've shown how successful the show really was. They can't use the same trick for the second season. Fans who cancelled mid first season will not start the second season. They're now stuck with those who liked or at least didn't mind the first season. Which isn't a whole lot of people compared to the number of Tolkien fans out there.
It's literally always "Let's change this thing that has a massive fanbase so more people will watch it" Fans push back and voice issues with the changes "You're wrong, you aren't true fans, you just want to gatekeep!" Changes are made, fans all leave and basically no new fans appear "Well, I guess this IP wasn't as popular and all the people who liked it are sexist and racist. Time to dump it now that we've ruined the lore."
What really gets me is we've seen this pattern unfold countless times but these corporate ass clowns never learn from others' mistakes let alone their own.
If amazon or games workshop thinks ANY of their fans side with them over Henry they are kidding themselves. Their stocks drop if they drop him. End of story.

So we had 2 seasons with Cavill waiting for them to repair the damage and they never did(Off the record I disdain that Hemsworth accepted a role that Cavill was basically pushed out of. There should be camaraderie on that field, there's supposed to be a Union there that strikes on lesser value things. Not that I blame Hemsworth for the series Failure, that's entirelly on Producers and Netflix, they made the choice to replace the protagonist rather than move closer to his logical needs). He did what I expect EVERY actor to do that has any kind of respect for his audience. The core material is not what the height of the actor. It's the soul. The actor brings the character up and transforms into them. Bond can't be a woman it's not the character or the soul. Lincoln can't be black. Malcolm X can't be played by an Asian. Thatcher can't be played by Jack Galifianakis. Patton can't be played by Jennifer Garner. Aragorn can't be the titular role of the Hobbit. The Hobbit cannot be all about Arwen all of a sudden because a producer asked for it. My beef with them is, they get the IP rights and all related right? It's usually for a good chunk of money. WHY on Earth would they want to jeopardize that investement to so massively change the original project that they actually gotten in the first place cause it's succesfull AS IS! It's a HUGE gamble to make massive or key changes and think the fans or anyone would still go for it and watch!? Since those changes make it a different product!?! They seem to not learn that people will not go ahead and follow if they screw things up. I mean they could make their own setting with some of the elements they wanted that wouldn't hurt the copyright law and not name it Witcher, or Warhammer, or Jedi/Sith something, or even Game of Thrones season 7,8. Know thy limits right and some of them absolutely not! Even people like Feige trying to shove to the fans throats Female Captain Marvel and the femme gang as the best thing on Earth! He seems to understand now from Deadpool and Wolverine what really matters: give the audience a great time to watch what they're watching and when it ends they have positive things to say about it. I mean women in roles that where written with women in mind are usually ok right? Not worse than men, not better, but different with their own sets of strengths and weaknesses! Whom are they kidding when they try to feminize the world? I mean if the writer is good, women will have their moments, men will have their moments and everyone stays happy. If the movie has mostly male characters it will attract an audience that wants to see that. If the movie has an all female cast, it will have its own audience. Some people will watch the one and not the other and some will watch neither. It is what it is. If they try to force attract audience to a movie that normally wouldn't watch, by gender swapping and the like they only invite not neccessary evils and make matters worse for all.

That show did everything to ignore LoTR lore, even going so far as to dismiss the Tolkien scholar that was working with them just so nobody would tell them no, and it became the most expensive giant flop ever. Amazon didn't pick Cavil because he would be true to the lore, they picked him because he's become an unofficial face of Warhammer and would be free marketing for them. The execs didn't think they'd make use of his love for the franchise, they probably thought it's gonna be good for their profits if they can hire a director who doesn't need a large paycheck because they really want the job. @@grosdaraz You are definitely correct, but it's a bit beside the point. They are incompetent and short-sighted, but that's only because they chase the quick profits. You can have a public corporation with execs who want to make the best product, but the moment they choose long-term quality over immediate profits, they're gonna hear from the investors who see them making choices that don't generate them money. If it happens too many times, the board straight-up removes the execs for someone who will just listen to the investors and turn in profit. Just pick virtually any publicly owned entertainment company and look at the quality of their products before they went public and the trajectory afterwards. From what I heard, Amazon is strongarming GW to give in to their demands, otherwise they may remove Warhammer-related stuff from online shop, which generates a lot of profit for GW.
Henry is basically Peter Jackson in this setting. A man who knows the source martial, is passionate about the project and dedicated enough to get the job done right. What Amazon has to decide is if they want him to create a series that is similar to The Lord of The Rings or the Hobbit. Let the man work and you get LOTR, interfere and you get The Hobbit.
Why would anyone be mad at him? Any real fan doesn't want Amazon, Disney, Netflix, etc. to get their dirty woke claws on ANY of our favorite franchises.
Here is how amazon can make money: Let those that like the series and invested in it handle it. Collect the fat checks. I have no idea why in Hollywood people think that not letting the cooks, cook is a good idea.
Amazon: We WANT 50% WOMEN SCREEN SHARE AND DIALOGUE!! Henry: Soooo...Sisters of Battle I suppose. Amazon: NOOOO TOO RELIGIOUS FOR WOMEN REPRESENTATION Henry:
The whole Imperium are religious fanatics, lol! But if they don't want Sisters of Battle, their are many other options. Navigators, astropaths, Astra Militarum, all have women. There are quite a few famous Inquisitors that are women. All kinds of female nobles. There is no need to change the lore to put in female roles. So this isn't about that. It is about something else...
@@jasonwright8546I would even happily watch women space marines but sounds like these restrictions would cause further challenges of character selection for a story which is already challenged by the epic ness of warhammer 40k that could eat budgets for breakfast. I wouldn't want characters made up for the screen either when plenty exist already.
@@kevinchadwick8993 If that was in how the universe was established, then so be it. In 40k it was set up that only 1 in a million of a planets top athletes had even a chance of surviving the initial testing to even attempt the process of becoming Astartes. Then the geneseed, being XY, wouldn't work for females anyway. That is why having female Astartes is such a prize for the "woke". In their minds it is a political victory over biology, even if it is in a fictional setting. Anything that affirms that men and women are different ticks them off, even a game.
If things actually work out, I think the coolest role for Henry to play, would just be random cameos in every film/show Stan Lee style. A background guardsman, commisar, space marine, almost anything. It would give him the freedom to play multiple characters in his favorite universe.
Nah, it could be Valdor because from his perspective he will see everything from the rise of the emperor, through the horus heresy to the current storyline.
I love the fact that he is trying to keep them to the lore. The lore is what got everyone around me that learned it from me into it. All I did is give a spark then it took off on its own for them.
The way when cavil said he was a gamer and the actress who plays ciri just looked like "here he goes a gain" just shows how right he was to leave the show, nobody on that show had any passion for the source material but him, and the disdain they showed towards him for being genuinely interested in being there is so shitty. I hope show runners see the love he gets and start realising a passion for source material and doing the fans proud is so much more important than anything else when it comes to these things. there's so much of an ego problem with show runners these days they forget why the material is amazing in the first place and instead make it about their own world.
These actresses like him though, they aren’t the ones with the problem, and idk if you have any friends that aren’t gigantic nerds but every time I get on a nerd topic I’m passionate about they all do the same. Roll their eyes and say he we go again. It isn’t an insult or that I annoy them, they just expect it to happen when I find another nerd, feel the need to comment it’s happening again and there’s nothing else to it. The show runners and producers are the ones that despised him.
Because they don't care about the material. Not a single person at Amazon gives the slightest fvck about the content of what they produce. There's only 4 things they care about: 1. Names of actors for popularity 2. Whether or not the topic/subject of the product is popular 3. Whether they can shoehorn their dogshit message into it 4. Whether it's profitable or not In this case, they have Cavill. The topic/subject is a popular franchise. They estimate that it will be profitable, however, they're having trouble shoehorning their dogshit message into it, hence the issues and the drama. They want all 4 at the same time, source material and accuracy be damned.
After a quick web search I found that it's a battle that GW and Amazon agreed to have. The agreement states that they have until December to work out the creative differences. I've also seen where GW is pretty happy with Henry being an ambassador, as he's brought a ton of people to it.

You would think Amazon would learn from Fallout’s success. Fans DO NOT want an adaptation to change or corrupt the world they love. Fans want a new story that fits into the world, and enriches it. That’s why Fallout was a hit. Just keep doing it that way!

Thank God for making a guy like Henry Cavill a true fan of these things, someone who is so genuinely passionate about them that he'd rather call the companies out on bullshit production and changes to the property rather than silently go along for a paycheck. A man who truly loves the franchises themselves.
The masses want a SPACE MARINE story at this point. There are so many games already that tell the "every man" story in the 40k universe. We are ready for a lore accurate space marine story on screen.
@christopher6570 lore accurate Space Marines on screen are best used like a plot device than as characters. They absolutely obliterate most enemies and the things that give them a good challenge are ridiculous.

Calling a franchise a cinematic universe is like calling a "r@pe victim" an "unwilling s3men receiver".
I'm not being hyperbolic when I say that Cavill will single-handedly, and drastically change the course of entertainment if he wins his fight, and stays true to the lore. The main reason why companies keep bastardizing IP's is that since the lotr trilogy there has not been a single IP that has truly attempted to stay true to the lore. As stupid as it sounds, accurate lore equating success and popularity is just a theory as far as the suits are concerned. Lotr just happened to get produced at that magical time right before the woke crowd took power, as well as at the perfect time for the fusion of practical and digital effects. I think hollywood just writes off the franchise as being "made in a different time". This makes it easy to dismiss the real reasons why it was successful. If Cavill is successful, there will be a current example to point to and will show that being faithful to lore, and not pandering to anyone (right or left) is the best way to guarantee success for a show/movie. I really enjoy 40k lore, but I don't play the board game. I'm the definition of a casual when it comes to the franchise. However, I will go absolutely nuts if Cavill can deliver. The fan made movie Helsreach was truly one of the coolest things that I've watched in the past couple years. I can't even imagine how awesome a big budget production would be. Not to mention, In my personal life I don't even know a single person who even knows wtf 40k is about, I guarantee that most of my buddies and both my brothers would watch and enjoy a lore accurate production. Every guy that I know has virtually written off hollywood productions because they are sick of the pandering and destruction of lore. This would all change if Cavill succeeds
Like you, i've drunk the lore kool-aid, but one point in your post confuses me: if your buddies and brothers don't know wtf 40k is about, why would they need a production to be lore accurate to enjoy it? As long as no one prejudiced them in advance, they'll be watching with fresh eyes.
lols i thought Henry was going to say console like PS 3 or Occulus Rift...but then again, his PC is most probably not your ordinary garage gig thing...
As someone who has been a Nerd long before it became cool, and who was much like Cavill (Decent-Looking and Huge), I can support the truth of this statement.
If the Warhammer 40K show doesn't get made 'because of Henry Cavill' then it should never be made, I don't want my shows and universes being butchered by corporations.

IT's a guarantee that people loved it they way it is. Kinda like having read the Tolkien Lord of the Rings trilogy books before seeing the movies I was astounded by the end result it was THAT good!

I think it's just another plain old corporate drones issue. Chasing profits kills creativity, and when you have chasing profits as a legal requirement for your business, a good piece of media is a rarity.
What an underrated comment bro. I actually don't want to hear it however I'm afraid this is absolutely true. I suppose this attempt to bring the WH40k Cinematic Universe to life just comes at the wrong time, with gender politics having a higher priority than a faithful lore. IMHO it's better not happening now than Amazon continuing without Henry.
Absolutely correct. Amazon isn't at all interested in making a Warhammer 40K show. They want a mindless zombie of a show that wears a disturbing skinsuit that only vaguely looks like Warhammer 40K.
They would make more profits if they let him do his thing though. It's more like short sightedness and incompetence.
So, the incompetence isn't the problem, it's a symptom.

@@christopher6570 I dont think that masses want a Space Marine story .. they want a good Warhammer40k story.
I'm waiting for the ESG woke sh*t to pass before pushing an R rated TV show based in the old world
Next GoT potential but in order to be what could be, it needs to be unburdened by what has been😂
15:30 WORD.
Yep
Holy man i didnt know that Henry so BASED, i hope he will win this war and will create beautiful story since WH40K SM 2 is hyped right now
Homie, you don't need to explain what a cinematic universe is on every single one of your videos.
its very important
You do realize that there may be normies that may also watch these vids too right?
@@Zanair And on top of that propably just watch 1 of these
@@ZanairEven normies know what a franchise is
@@Zanair if a "normie" doesn't know what a "Cinematic Universe" is by now, they ought to not watch movies from now on.
Also, it's stupid to call every film franchise a "Cinematic universe", because it can be summed up in one word, "Franchise"...
Calling a franchise a cinematic universe is like calling a "r@pe victim" an "unwilling s3men receiver".
6:59 Henry Cavil looking like a midivel blacksmith while building a brand new PC
Henry is the kind of guy you'd have big arguments with about the lore of a game or book while you're drunk.
and honestly I want a friendship like that
LOL that whole "PlayStation or Xbox?
No PC" thing never gets old!
He is the Emperor himself in disguise so that he may continue his plans he has for humans. For the Emperor!
3:28 He is soooo based.
Bro looked at him like "eww gross"
PC!!
Can't believe I'm just like Henry Cavil.
The way he said PC when asked about what console he played on that was pure gold.
lols i thought Henry was going to say console like PS 3 or Occulus Rift...but then again, his PC is most probably not your ordinary garage gig thing...
Being superman is one thing... But can we pls acknowledge the fact that he is probably the most ripped game nerd on this planet?
When girls say they like nerdy guys they mean Cavill
As someone who has been a Nerd long before it became cool, and who was much like Cavill (Decent-Looking and Huge), I can support the truth of this statement.
To be fair he's good looking too
@@dizzyheads That's implied in the OP's comment.
@@dizzyheads username checks out
You just have to look like a superhero as well.
Which is actually possible for any nerd willing to put in the work.
If the Warhammer 40K show doesn't get made 'because of Henry Cavill' then it should never be made, I don't want my shows and universes being butchered by corporations.
