To those that keep saying this ideais from the king of random, yes you are partially correct. However, he augments on grants idea and shows how it can be used for more than storage etc. Therefore, he has made it a more original idea and let's be honest grant doesn't come up with all of his projects he too finds most of them from other places and doesn't mention where, maybe because he too augments on others ideas but thats speculation hash it out as you will 👍

Ive made tons of these, i also use Gatorade and other larger lids.
Another good source of light too add or substitute another item could be a birthday candle, a cleaner and easier to start than the oi version and a bit more permanent than the LED torch.

you can use the small cap container to make a small cannon.. put a small pipe on one cap and on the other one a lighter igniter, attach it wot hot glue.. now spray some alcohol in it and load it with q-tips or bullet balls and you have a nice, working mini cannon 😃

nope! that wont help for any survival. just in case of surviving in places other than places near ocean, try containing salt. oh and containing sugar would also help just in case ^^
try making mini candle out of the mini container with actual wax

What kind of string did you use to wrap around the matches and to serve as the vegetable oil lantern wick? I've tried jute, but it just burns up.
Actually, I wasn't using jute. I thought it was. I've tried jute and it works fine.

ian, I'm sure that you can. but consider the properties of Gorilla glue. It actually Expands while it is drying. Which means that you have to make Certain that every aspect of it is Pressed Down to insure a Solid Seal.
umm... id rather have a bottle of water instead of a cap of water....
btw using hot glue would work too. although it is not as strong as epoxy glue, its still good (proven by the king of random)
oh and the king of random used sandpaper rather than taking the ignitive thing from a match box
