It's called a "Leslie". Production value, incredible. Analog only. This band is so different; the most complicated time signatures... always a surprise. GOAT.
Ok, I watched till the end. Early Zep has a heavy, heavy blues influence to their music. May I humbly suggest you do album reviews of them starting at the beginning. Not sure how much of them you've done but I know you'll love it even more than VH.
Led Zeppelin is the greatest ever or ever will be!! All their albums you can listen from beginning to end and enjoy every song on the album. They recorded songs where you have to buy the album. And not one album was disappointing!!!
Perfection! Never try to predict where Zeppelin will take you. 10 studio albums - produced by Jimmy Page Not one song is alike Mag, you were hearing Page using a slide on his guitar.
Zeppelin ruled the world in the 70's. They were unique. They did everything and did it all well. Nope, you can't pigeon-hole the mighty Zep, they were their own genre and will never stop surprising you. The first two albums are very bluesy. I encourage you to do yourself a favor and just start from the beginning! My favorite band for over 50 years. There's nobody like Zeppelin! Thank you for your thoughtful reaction. 🐐☮️
I appreciate the comment and I do agree to some extent, being your own genre requires a lot of innovation and work. Ive been reacting long enough to tell where they might have built some of their sound from.
@@MugnifyRTS I meant no offense, so I hope you didn't take it that way. I really enjoyed your reaction, and have been subscribed to your channel for awhile. As teens they idolized the old bluesmen..Muddy Waters, Howlin' Wolf, Robert Johnson, and others, so they were steeped in it. That's why the first two albums are heavily blues influenced and paid homage to them. You may already know all that. Anyway, thanks for the reply and I look forward to more Zeppelin reactions from you in the future.
I just found you man, watched your Blackfoot react and subbed! I like your honesty...I grew up with Led Zep, to me, their 1st 2 albums were them doing what they knew and were comfy with, nasically blues rock..then they began expanding...I wish you knew what it was like waiting for the next album! Such a wonderful time for music!
It's not surprising at all. Led Zeppelin created magic in their music, with Jimmy Page, the band's guitarist, producing every one of their albums. And the sale of their albums made Led Zeppelin the 5th biggest selling music artist of all time, behind only Michael Jackson at #4, Garth Brooks at #3, Elvis Presley at #2, and of course, The Beatles at #1. I see this is the 1st studio track you've actually heard by the band. That explains a lot. It makes sense this would be your favorite, when all you've heard are live performances. Led Zeppelin were very improvisational, often changing the songs from night to night, sometimes adding long jam sessions in the middle of the songs. If long jam sessions aren't your thing, better to stick with the studio recordings, instead of live recordings, which by their very nature, are (for the most part) going to be inferior in sound quality and structure. Plus, for someone so interested in studying song structure, why wouldn't you want to hear the original studio recordings first? That it how you hear song structure, not through live jams. I see you've reacted to the live version of Stairway to Heaven and the Heart live cover version, without actually hearing the original studio recording. To me, that makes no sense at all, because you have nothing to compare any of it to. My suggestion is to do another reaction to Stairway to Heaven, but this time, listen to the one you probably should have started with, the original studio recording. I also recommend checking out the studio recording of the song Since I've Been Loving You. It will show you the true power and magic that was Led Zeppelin. Original Studio recording of Stairway to Heaven ua-cam.com/video/QkF3oxziUI4/v-deo.html Original Studio recording of "Since I've Been Loving You" ua-cam.com/video/vcIem-L398w/v-deo.html I'm gonna give this channel a chance and subscribe and see if you take any of this advice. Lead singer & harmonic Robert Plant* Jimmy Page lead guitarist band founder producer editor mixer* John Paul Jones bass keyboards mandolin & other instruments* John (Bonzo) Bonham greatest drummer. Each are the GOAT of their craft, & together they are the GODS of music. Rock Blues Folk Reggae etc. Page founded the band late summer of (1968) they finished up tour obligations he had as The Yardbirds, Led Zeppelin one was recorded mixed etc in 36 hours, & released the first week of January (1979). Their second album was written & recorded while touring, & released in October of (1969). These guys growing up loved the blues, & were influenced by great blues artist from young teens. Page Plant & Bonham were self taught, JPJ had classical training. They took America by storm touring here, they sold out every concert, even playing one city 3 or 5 nights in a row. Every song is amazing, on every album, you may not care for a couple but you’ll love far more of them. They were geniuses at arranging writing & playing music, & you never know what genre you’ll get. Sadly they split up when drummer John Bonham passed away late September (1980), they knew he couldn’t be replaced. I hope you decide to continue this journey down the Led Zeppelin rabbit hole, I will tune in, thank you.
Led Zeppelin changed the direction of where the music would go! Every band after Zeppelin followed Zeppelin! We got Deep purple black Sabbath and many more!
It's a ride cymbal not really a hi-hat but I dig your reactions. that flange effect.. was done with two tape machines.. slow one down while both play, then it catches up.. voila: flange effect
Not sure exactly how they did it in this specific song, but you can add an effect pedal to any instrument. Maybe Jimmy had an extra phaser pedal that they plugged Robert’s mic into. (At least that’s what you do when you’re first starting out with limited equipment). I’m sure they had better options by this point in time. Jimmy’s solo mimics Robert’s verse delivery … comes in soft and chill, then blasts in with power. I love their dynamic.
I recommend listening to each entire album through Physical Graffiti. Zepplin is known for their production of the entire album as a whole. Then you can choose which video you'd like to share with the rest of us Zep heads. They moved through Blues, Hard Rock & Folk Rock over their recording career as a band. Each person being excellent in their collaborative efforts. However, I would also recommend to put away thoughts of labeling each section as though in a video format. Zepplin doesn't fit into a mold. Introspective is a good descriptive word for this tune & others.
Zeppelin threw all their influences into every song.....a bit of this style a bit of that style, some of this some of that. They also rewrote the book of how to get from A to B to C.....which meant one never knew what was coming next. That's why along with The Beatles they are called the best to ever do it.
The audio track sounds a bit slow…maybe the setting is at .75 speed and not in normal mode….sounded off a bit….otherwise always liked your reactions…..
I think you’re getting Led Zeppelin mixed up with somebody else mate. Yeah they mix up and experiment with many different styles but the way you were talking at the end leads me to believe you’re thinking of another band maybe
You should go from early Zeppelin to later Zeppelin they changed their music through the years. I love all Zeppelin ❤
How they did it back then was called talent
John Paul Jones lays down a smooth bass line, he really carries the tune along.
always waiting for Zeppelin reactions. Thank you
Me too, I search for them.
That bass riff is what makes the song
It's called a "Leslie". Production value, incredible. Analog only.

GOAT.
I think you will enjoy exploring this band.
One of my favorite LZ songs, but it's very, very hard to pick favorites! Love it.
The one word to describe early Zeppelin. “ RAW” .
Yes!!! Do more of the greatest band in history!!! Who could possibly choose a favorite????
The chorus gives you an idea of how much Robert Plant liked bands like the Isley Brothers. Who at one time had a guitarist named Jimi Hendrix.
Zeppelin is steeped in the blues

I agree definitely far better then VH, but then better then everyone else.
JPJ and that bass line. Yes.

F YEA!!! **Best Band EVER!!!** YAY!!! **RockON!!!**
Do yourself a favor and listen to every Zeppelin album, they are incredible (and that’s an understatement)!
John Paul Jones was the producer. He used a revolving speaker from a Hammond B3 Organ.
GREAT reaction!!!

another great Zeppelin tune from my teenage days
The vocals are through a Leslie speaker.
What it Is, or what? 😉 Great reaction, bruh! Peace
Led Zeppelin changed the direction of where the music would go! Every band after Zeppelin followed Zeppelin! We got Deep purple black Sabbath and many more!
Love this song! Great reaction.
John Bonham the drummer is Alex Van Halen’s main influence also and you can totally hear it in his rhythm, fills and sound of his drum’s and cymbals.
Early Zep is top notch.
To my ears they put the vocals through a Leslie Cabinet, used for Hammond (and hammond church) organs.
It's a ride cymbal not really a hi-hat but I dig your reactions. that flange effect.. was done with two tape machines.. slow one down while both play, then it catches up.. voila: flange effect
That’s crazy I need to see that in video
He used a Phase shifter. Most common on guitars but here and there on vocals.
That was a flange effect that Jimmy Page used on this recording flange was around in the '70s and '60s
Its funny every body head bobs to Led Zepp

Do stormtroopin live by uncle Ted if you like high energy rock n roll..double live gonzo album
It's A Leslie.
😁🤟🏼
For me, it seems blues based.
This song was about him running way with his wife sister..

See where rap came from?
Nah rap came from Gil Scott Heron
I’m forced to ask what happened to song writing?
Stoner classis.

Nah, I’m not it’s Led Zeppelin
You talk too much during your videos you're ruining the song
Way too much talking during the song. Can’t listen properly while talking and constantly stopping the song.
It’s always one 😂
