SWSH's biggest blunder was not giving us a ho-oh alt art in silver tempest
imagine red looking out into the distance with ho-oh flying away reminiscent to the end of the first season of the Pokémon show... man...

For real man! What were they thinking? Ho-oh alt are would have been incredible!!
The should have based Silver Tempest around Lugia and Ho-oh. Would have made that set so much better to have a gen 2 based chase set!

Fusion strike finally getting the recognition it deserves !
Fusion Strike a great set
It was hard putting it ahead of Chilling Reign but it's a great set!
I went deep into fusion strike from the day it released. Everyone I know was like wtf are you doing. I told them don’t think short term. Think long term
It's hard to get out of hive mindset just cause alot of influencers heavily pushed chilling reign but it's apparent Fusion has been a better set because you just need 1-2 cards people actually want long term vs 20 people are meh about I know you know I've been saying Fusion is superior for a long time lol it's only recently been proven true but I've been saying it since the very start. I think the correct method to rating these sets gotta be what top chases are in the set vs what people actually want want to own long term for set rating not the quantity of chases but rather the demand of the chase in the set long term@@pokeoz91

Seeing these videos makes my fusion strike master set for 200$ feel like one of my best purchases ever

I think this is pretty spot on. There are a couple where theyre pretty close where one might be better over the other but great job on doing your homework and having good points on why each one ranked the way they did.

I think you should make a video on the top 25 SWSH promos and see if they’ll have the same longevity as the Sun&Moon ones or do better.

My top 6 sets in order would be Evolving, Chilling, Fusion, Astral, Brilliant & Lost. Each to their own though. Awesome video man!! Toyota #1 lol!! 🚗

Hikux volt is anything January production onwards so should be in showrooms very shortly 👌

Hey! Loved the video! I still believe Brilliant Stars is better than Lost Origin. I’m surprised you didnt touch base on the Brilliant Stars Trainer Gallery that features the eevelutions and is highlighted with an Umbreon VMAX.

I absolutely agree with your list but like you I feel Battle Styles could be put above Vivid Voltage or vice versa. I do have Silver Tempest above Astral Radiance only on the Lugia which I think is undervalued and the Machamp is probably not going up anytime soon. I believe in the big chase cards and that Lost Origin is 2 because of Giratina but you can argue that Gengar and Espeon in Fusion puts it past Giratina and Aerodactyl. Good list.

Wasn’t a big fan of fusion strike in the beginning, but over time it became one of my favourite sets for sure, what a set
I think because it was so close to evo skies.
@@pokeoz91 Yeah for sure, I think chilling reign had it worse...easily top 3 s&s set in my opinion, but no one really cared about the set because of evolving skies

Chilling, Brilliant & Astral are worthy top 4 sets also, and apart from Evolving Skies they’re all nearly equally as good as each other.
I personally rate Fusion & Lost Origin a little better than the ones you’ve mention due to particular chase cards.

For Brilliant Stars you did not mention that it has the Eeveelution trainer Gallery with an Unbreon V and Unbreon Vmax of its own! Its definitely one of the top SwSh sets, apart from having the god pokemon and a cool Mimikyu which is a pokemon that has been selected as top 10 fan favorite for a while
The umbreon trainer galleries are very nice!

Great video but Brilliant Stars is absolutely snubbed. Once you get past the Charizard’s, you’re met with beautiful Pikachu & Raichu full arts, a stunning Arceus alt art and lastly, a full Eeveelution trainer gallery… Can’t forget about the Mimikyu’s. Lastly, gold legendary birds 👀
An investment question, would you purchase a case of Pokémon Center ETB’s or a booster box case? Torn on which would have a greater roi.
I’d go with the Booster box case. More packs to weight ratio. And having those sealed together is better than 9 sealed a Pc promo imo.
My only counter argument would be entry point. In the future after your ETB PC appreciates it’ll most likely be a lower entry point for a potential buyer in comparison to the Booster 🤓😎🔥

Battle Styles is my favourite. 😅 Sleepy Tyranitar, Houndoom, Empoleon and a couple of Kung Fu Monkeys!
It'll be interesting to see how these cards hold up in value either time. I'd expect some sharp drops as new eras come out which continually splits demand. Not that is necessarily matters. You could cut all those values in half and it'd still be a strong line up.

What do you think about Crown Zenith vs Lost Origin? A bit provocative but I see Crown zenith as the second strongest set of the sword and shield era. I'm comparing a special set with a normal one, but I'm still curious what you think.

Wish i had this hindsight, but i joined around LO, but really agree with this set. Was happy to buy Chilling Reign in the lull. Too bad i busted that box hahahha. Otherwise happy to have 1 bb from Fusion onwards

I agree with this list except I do think the depth of CR is reason enough to put it slightly ahead of fusion strike, but both sets are so close value wise at the end of the day its just personal preference.

It’s crazy how much the SWSH sets are going up in the last 3 months. I think silver tempest lost origin and brilliant stars will be winning sets if you can hold them for 2 more years.
I think that "Lost Origin" will skyrocket by the mid-to-end of the year already.
It's crazy how quickly LO bounced back from its reprint.

You left out the offshoot sets like GO and Crown Zenith. Crown Zenith packs over time will perform well, up there with Lost Origin and Chilling Reign i think
Yeah I was just doing main sets. I do agree with CZ. I'd rank that behind Evo Skies at number 2.
Lost Origin actually has 4 Pikachu cards... And a Mew Vmax, with Charizard and Gengar's only Trainer Gallery... With that Gengar promo in the build and battle box.

Evolving Skies will definitely go up in value, but it will have to hit $1400 US before you double your money. Still it is almost worth the current price just to own it because it may be a long time before a better set comes along.

I preferred Chilling Reign to Evolving Skies. I agree that Darkness Ablaze was the weakest set, but I'd have Silver Tempest somewhere near the bottom too.

Fusion strike should definitely be higher than lost origin because now 2024 the Gengar is over $400 non graded but evolving skies is still number one I hope you see this message

If I were to squeeze it in there, you'd argue it has the greatest depth of chase cards out of any sword and shield set. Excluding investing, just on quality of the set and pokemon and artwork I'd put it 2nd behind Evo Skies 👌

Why is brilliant stars 5th? It has the best Tg and a good chasecard. It is way better than chilling reign and fusion strike
Top chase cards in CR outperform the chase cards in BS. Plus CR has more depth of alt cards.
I agree the TG adds to Brilliant Stars but it's got one heavy chase card being the Charizard. I think CR and FS have stringer chase cards eith more depth and nicer artwork. But of course it's all just my opinion.

My list is a little different: I think battle styles is superior to vivid voltage main reason is alt arts in battle styles I can eventually see tyranitar v alt surpassing pikachu vmax rainbow; imo chilling reign is #7 because there is no actual long term chase people want nobody is gonna go i want blaziken over lugia in 10yrs, #6 Astral Radiance Machamp is a fan favorite and more desirable to own vs blaziken and strong trainer gallery, #5 Silver Tempest because Lugia and Rayquaza will carry the set I expect both to perform very well long term sometimes bad sets just need 1-2 top tier cards to pull the weight; #4 Brilliant Stars because zard is still a fan favorite it's just fatigued rn and zard sealed boxes always perform high not to mention the eeveelution trainer gallery ; #3 Lost Origin because Tina is a top tier chase and trainer gallery is the best in swsh hands down for lost Origin, #2 Fusion Strike because nothing is any of the previous sets long term don't have anything in my personal opinion that can rival gengar or espeon yes tina is nice but I don't see it being worth more than either gengar or espeon long term and that celebi will be another top tier chase in the future. #1 Evo skies needs no explanation it has the absolute best top end chases in this entire era matter of fact the best chases imo of all time in Pokemon that's how high I rate evo skies I personally wouldn't even be collecting Pokemon rn if not for evo skies that's the main reason I started collecting again

honestly you could be right only if rainbow pikachu vmax doubles or triples in current raw value my issue is I don't see it happening unless rainbows take off which most of the community really hates I've learned community sentiment is very important and usually correlates demand that's why I think battle styles will be superior just because it has alts in the set and it's one of the 8 sets that has alt arts and out of those 8 sets it's 1/4 only 4 sets that has vmax alt arts(Battle Styles, Chilling Reign, Evo Skies, Fusion Strike) yes it's the worst out of the 4 but that's something exclusive only to those 4 sets. I genuinely do want to know who wins long term in price for 2nd place Fusion Strike or Lost Origin? it could go either way my gut feeling says Fusion Strike but who knows@@pokeoz91

Fusion Strike is so overrated. oMg GuyZ tHE geNGaR! And only like 4 other really good cards in the set. Chilling Reign has way better cards overall and more value for your money. Just compare prices for all the cards. 20+ in the $10+ for CR while FS has like 8? People definitely sleeping on CR. Once people realize, CR will skyrocket. Gengar chase card is better than Blaziken I'll admit that but one or a few cards doesn't make a set.
I think it's just the weight of that Gengar seeming to really pump it at the moment.

@@pokeoz91 I totally get that. It’s just that whenever I open VV now the ONLY card to chase is the Chunkachu. Battle Styles depth and it being the first set with alt arts makes it the better set for me. But I realize that it’s all subjective and you’re allowed to have your opinion even if you’re absolutely unequivocally wrong 🤣 🤣 🤣
