Yes! The world deserves this video. It was absolutely my honor to have you on mate 🙏
Aha! Thank you so much mate ☺️
I love that Paul makes guitar faces for other peoples guitar playing!
Hey Paul, would it be great if you combine all 10 solos into single track, because watchers currently need to scroll through your 30 mins video to listen to actual solos?.. It would be supercool colab track :-)
this is exactly what i was looking for!!
@@rikuiki3709 this is exactly what i've done but in mp3 format
Hey Chris! Sounds so great! Great talking with you today!!
The great sensei is here. Would be great if you join next time Tomo.
WOW!! #MasterGeniusTomo is here too! 😀🙏🔥
Man, that solo was the reason I discovered you and your music; in an instant became one of my fav guitar players!
same here!
same here🤘
Been subbed for a while, You’re in for a treat he plays such varied and original phrases every time you hear him. So clean and so perfect for the instrument or subject he’s showcasing. He really is the real deal. A rare original sound to all his playing that broke my fatigue of listening to advanced players which was leading me to thinking actually I don’t have an urge to play that well anymore as they all sound the same.
Same here
Ditto!
Chris you are absolutely one of the tastiest players i have ever seen.
Chris should be so much bigger than he is. He’s honestly one of the best guitarists on UA-cam
I agree. He is underrated. Probably many guitarists like shredding and licks than melodic singing-solo type
Its because he's welsh 🤣🤣
Chris and Matteo Mancuso are criminally underrated and two of the best guitarists I've ever seen.
Time will do justice. Chris is an amazingly sublime guitarist. Matteo is just in another league from a technical point of view, both are great on their own.
@@LostPlectrum Matteo is stupid good. Chris obvs amazing too
Paul's reaction is almost as enjoyable as the solo itself.
It’s been months and this solo is still in my head, just like 1000’s of other people. I’m still impressed by the beauty of the melody every single time I listen to it. That was genius, we all witnessed it thanks to youtube.
Yea indeed. Its amazing! I come back to this video a lot
Having such a legend deciphering a solo of his with such detail is an honour, a privilege and we're so lucky to have it. Old guitarists didn't have this. Thanks!
It's no mean feat to stand head and shoulders above the rest on a track with so many amazing musicians. Amazing!
I can't get the melody out of my head ever since I heard it first time. Sign of a great solo imo
This was simply stunning! So melodic, more like a singer would sing over the track and full of feeling. Glad I discovered your talent through Paul’s video.
He perspective to soloing is the best. Just like a singer; not many notes
Check out his video about his Marshall JCM 800. Wicked playing
Thanks so much for this Chris. That solo is sublime!
I agree, so much that I posted my attempt to the solo, with tabs. Here it is!

This solo can still bring tears to my eyes. What a masterpiece.
This solo gives me chills Everytime I listen to it
70 yrs. Old. Retired in Mexico. I am drawn to this style Chris Buck, and Paul. I heard something very much like this, but not the blue bends from my guitar teacher in 1964. He taught me to hold pick between index and middle finger. Paul and Chris, thanks for giving a 70 yr. old inspiration. I am a happier person due to your art. BTW. My guitar teacher was Johnny Keck, well known in Indiana, Chicago area. Master of banjo also.
That first lick, with the bend/sliding thing, is something Duane Allman perfected. You can hear it in his solo from the
Fillmore East version (live) of In Memory Of Elizabeth Reed. Great move, not heard often. Chris nails it.
I still come back here to listen to this Chris. Honestly gets better every time i hear it. Like when a good singer hits you right in the soul.
Not to knock on any of the other fantastic players, but this was the best solo by far
Pete's one was great too!
@Rahul Mondal agree! But I liked Chris so much I published my own version with Tabs, have you seen it?
@Rahul Mondal thank you!
I liked tylers a lot too
it's hard to be surprised when you know the players, when your solo came up, I was "who's this guy?"... then you played... HOLY SH*TTT, best one hands down, so musical, art. Well done mate.
Yes exactly, I published my own cover with tabs in my humble channel few days ago, but when else better than the man himself could explain it?!?! Chris is an artist when it comes to draw melodic lines in his solos....
Really, really appreciate this. I can't imagine that many masters of their craft would take the time to reverse engineer a solo and explain their thought process. Thank you!
I watched Paul's video, and enjoyed it immensely -- I am surprised by how much I deeply enjoyed that video... All of the contributors were extremely fantastic, but Chris' version was the only one that almost made me weep, and I watched it several times... The other contributors were eager to provide a version that was happy and would "gallop", but Chris supplied an interpretation that showed a fascinating "gravity". Chris can use the meat of his right thumb to mute the thrum of the deep notes that would "muddy" the other notes. This made the higher notes brighter. He still used "gorgeous" and "rich" E-notes, but they didn't "bury" the agreeable "clean" C and G# notes. He also re-enforced his strong left ring-finger with his other fingers, to produce excitingly fast and assertive bends. Bravo, Chris. You won the internet... Chris, your volume-control on your transitions is awe-inspiring. Brilliant. Utterly brilliant. My soul is rewarded by your mastery. Sincere thanks.
That video is at 1 million views 3 months later. Crazy. Very nice solo!
I really hope this boosts your channel man, you've worked so hard for where you've got and it's about time that people realised that you're one of the best around right now! Paul certainly thinks so!
It's boosting it actually, I think he is gaining few thousand sub every couple of days. He deserves it!
Less is more is more is less, beautiful piece...
Hey Chris! I loved the solo so much that after a 5 year non playing hiatus I bought a revstar, a helix and bunch of other stuff and I just want to be able to play a bit like you one day. Thanks for rekindling the love for the guitar. Cheers!
Beautiful solo bro 😍🙌
Dude, your solo on that video was the only one that "sang". While there were some fantastic players (no doubt!), Paul saved the best of his guests for last. Nice work, Chris!
I am so stoked to try this (and probably fail) when I get home.

Your solo on this track has inspired me to be a better guitar player. What more can you ask for than to hear something that stays with you for several days. Thanks man.
Bro tell me about it. 3 days ago and i’m loopin this part in my car, at the gym, right before bed. I honestly want my brain to rid itself of everything bad in the world and replace it with this.
Me too

Beautiful interpretation Chris, blew me away the first time so to hear your commentary over the video just adds to the experience. Your playing is sublime.
Beautiful
Glad Paul's video brought me back to you. Saw your cover of "I can't make you love me," a couple of years ago here on youtube, and quite honestly, I'm not sure I've ever seen anything better. This solo was just a reminder of how smooth you are. Thanks for your sharing your gift with us
Chris your touch is so melodic that your playing style always grabs and pulls you in! You have a voice of your own! SO original!!!
