There´s no mention or reference to neither trump or america on this video, but if in your mind it was so easy to make that connection then that has go to mean something, don´t you think?
There actually are several indirect references to Trump. "A promise to restore Germany's former greatness" [2:58] is very similar to Trump's slogan "Make America Great Again". I also felt like the line about Hitlr claimed he would "restore law and order" [4:02] is something that Trump is well known for saying in interviews as well. Whether or not I believe the comparison is justified is a whole different story. But given the date that this video was released, I think many of those similarities, as presented, weren't unintentional.
Eager McBeaver But... those were not comparisons to Trump. Hitler has actually made those claims, hell, read Achtung Panzer and Heinz Gudarian, who wasnt a Nazi, also uses those words to describe Hitler's goals... and that book was written in 1938. So is it TedEd which intentionally writes those phrases so they seem like Trump? Or is it just a factual statement because these were actually big campaign promises from mister A. Hitler?
Sadly, it is an inherent flaw of Democracy. If the people are blinded by fear, anger, and/or hate, they make irrational decisions based on revenge. Humanity, learn not to hate, but to forgive. Revenge after revenger, the blood shed will never end, unless if one side decides to forgive, or if one side was to die. But the surviving side will not be held as heros, but tyrants, and the world will turn against them. Thus adding more blood shed. Our humanity is cursed, because we love. Because we love, we hate. We divide amongst ourselves as enemies and allies. Them and us. Humans are powerful creatures, but fragile in heart. Ignorant in mind, but wise in spirit. A society that fights among themselves is destined to fall. Unless it learns to love and forgive itself.
This is what it takes for people to hold irrational beliefs that can potentially end up as totalitarian dictatorships (as shown by history) 1. Fear based on bigotry through biased POVs, with no scientific or objective facts, especially about a minority to be seen as a thread against a majority who blame everything on them as a way to find one only guilty for their complex social problems. 2. Beliefs in conspiracy theories with no real basis, such as people who believe there's an elite, or an agenda, splitting history of facts into sided opinions, to satify their information bias, unable to see things objectively due to their mental slant, ironically labeling every other's opinion as 'biased' for the same reason even if they offer them irrefutable facts. It's called the "backfired effect", and it's a cognitive bias. People won't accept they're wrong even if you show them proofs. 3. A lack of sense of control when a situation seems to be critical or there must be a big change. 4. Demagogy of a leader who tells people what they want to hear by promising everything will be better and saying that he/she will put THEM first instead of the "thread", offering people a sense of control and making them think that he/she really cares about them, even if their promises are unrealistic.
Additionally, irrational stereotypes and hasty generalizations must be prohibited in order to crack down on scapegoating entire groups (such as the Jews). Hitler proved human beings are sheep with a herd mentality who lack the rational thinking required to distinguish between stereotypes and reality. Nazism was a political cult. North Korea is a political cult. What can we do to change the way ordinary people think in order to destroy all cults and all forms of group thinking? The human brain is so flawed in the way people fall for logical fallacies that it should be rewired.
@@PatrickDeHoyos Let's not pretend "Antifa" it's just nothing more that a paramilitary group to suppress protestors (exactly like brown shirt) with a purposely misleading name "I'm call myself the good guy, therefore I can't do no bad", by that logic, Democratic People's Republic of Korea or North Korea, is a democracy just because of the name, that's not the case.
This is why modern democracy has separated the "military" from the "politics". In today's democratic world, the top military leaders aren't allowed to make public announcements or meet the press directly. Separating the military and the politics did the trick here. Else, it has been shown multiple times in the past, that a person who both has political power as well as military control will end up ruling the country. This is why democracy is slow. No single person will have enough power to pass on orders all by themselves. Thus, for any order to pass on, they must go through the bureaucratic process.
@@tylerduncanson2661 It's relative because your definitions of what a working democracy is, probably isn't the same. Besides, most western countries don't have a "pure democracy" (aka direct democracy), we have representative democracies. Some people view that as a failure, and some people don't.
@@Zeverinsen When the statement is "democracy doesn't work", I feel confident that there's some country that meets the qualifications of not a failure. Also, representative democracies are still democracy.
Erdogan is doing what Hitler did. Trump is just trying to save his country from the globalists who want to turn the USA into Brazil. Do you want more inequality? more poverty? more crime? Then be my guest, vote for Hillary .
Shan Oakley Is it because I used the word "globalist"? Political ideologues who want to create a world with no borders, where people can and are encouraged to live wherever they want, who want to disavow the very existence of racial and ethnic groups and are ready to undermine the existing social and cultural cohesive structures that keep societies together and in harmony; these people are globalists. And their ideology is mad and dangerous. It goes counter to human nature. Their staunch refusal to accept the truth and stubborn insistence on their ideologies will only serve to plunge the world into chaos, and in the case of Europe also irreversibly destroy our very identity and people by importing foreign elements who share none of our values but want all the fruits of our civilisation. This is the political ideology that pervades, indeed poisons the political elite in the world today; it is the world view that Hillary and her kind support; it is the world view that thinks the only antidote to racism is to destroy all manifestation of different races of human beings by no more subtle tool than total miscegenation and the negation of over 2000 years of magnificent history.
If Hillary and Trump weren't running, this wold be a nothing more than a history lesson; but instead it's propaganda because the comments section said so.
+my toughts Hillary Clinton isn't a corrupt idiot that doesn't know how to do things. She was secretary of state and is one of the most able people to be president.

+Adam Orange1861 sure Hillary is capable or running a country but only in a way to benifit herself not for the country, were Trump just as capable wants to do more for the people than Hillary.

I wasn't able to articulate that, probably now I am numb to these type of animation since I've seen many in patriotic shows in my country, India!
No, this video cut a lot, hiperinflation, the civil wars around, the emergency power of the president to override the congress, the invasion of the rift by French's that fueled nationalism & a lot of more. It was a perfect storm. Also it's called the SEIZURE OF POWER for a reason, Nazis never got more than the 1/3 for the vote.

No wonder Star Wars considered fear to be the biggest obstacle on the path to becoming the best version of yourself. Fear can be manipulated more easily than any other emotion and when paired with anger, you'll have destruction.
Tbh, star wars was mostly having its tale based off these events. The Vietnam Forest Attacks, Storm Troopers, Hux,/Hitler's Announcements, and Movements for Resistance and Resolution were based off these events. The moral also was reminiscent to this dark past

There´s no mention or reference to neither trump or america on this video, but if in your mind it was so easy to make that connection then that has go to mean something, don´t you think?
There's no mention of Trump, yet all the comments are about Trump. Hmm....
Hitler?

5:07 extremely important words. This is the lesson we must draw from Hitler‘s tyranny. Be aware, always!
This just describes the US and "sToP tHe StEaL" last year
Sadly, it is an inherent flaw of Democracy.
Preach.
This is what it takes for people to hold irrational beliefs that can potentially end up as totalitarian dictatorships (as shown by history)
Oh my goodness! A coherent, uplifting UA-cam comment that doesn't directly involve politics?
Human emotion is the primary problem. We need people to be rational. Not emotional. This is the best way to ensure peace.
Imagine learning that you started a war that literally involved every country by not accepting him into your art school

Is it because I used the word "globalist"?
