This is like the holy grail of quadcopters for me… a neon green special edition Hubsan X4 (H107L)! I've had a lot of requests to review the H107L, so I hope you like it!
Enjoy!

Good review and nice to see the fish lamp is still working 😀.
Dave Cooper Hehe thanks. :D I should probably have an electrician look into why sometimes that outlet just stops working. heh
There's a couple of things I've never heard reviewers touch on, in relation to the H107L, that are stabilization related and to be quite honest they're things that I happened across quite by accident so I thought I might share what I've discovered. # 1. The prop removal tool isn't only for prop removal, it's also a gauge to ensure proper propeller spacing. To achieve proper spacing ( especially after a relatively hard impact/crash) is to insert the tool underneath each prop and use the tool to raise the prop until the tool moves around freely ( slightly ), then let go of the tool and press down on the center of the prop with your thumb until the tool stands straight up ( angled, actually ) and the prop won't move down any further. #2. The H107L has safety clips on the bottom of each arm that can disengage after a relatively hard impact/crash. If the safety clips aren't clipped back into place after a relatively hard impact/crash, you'll notice definite drifts upon relaunch. Same goes for use of the prop tool and prop spacing.
I got mine couple of days ago it was my first ever quadcopter and I am totally addicted. First couple of days were rough but now I am getting used to. My next quadcopter is Dromida Ominus. Addicted to flying!!
HandsomeTroll Welcome to the QUADDICTION. :D
"Good, classy green." - Flyin' Ryan 2015 haha
I love your reviews and appreciate the time you put into these! I bought my 200 QX thanks to your review, and I'm totally obsessed with it.
Matt Gomez Hehe :D And thanks! Glad you're liking the 200 QX… that thing is so awesome. :)
This little quad is awesome...Hubsan have found the perfect balance between quality and cost.
Lee Cross Yep! There's a reason this is by the most 'cloned' quad on the market. :)
I am still impressed at the level of control you have in the space of your kitchen. Thanks for the H107L review without camera. This may be one of the intermediate models I pickup to become proficient at flying better models until I am confident enough to fly the Blade 200 QX (Months away).
Brett Boughton Thanks! This would definitely be a good one to get a feel for on your way up to the 200 QX. :)
Update - all of my quads have failed in one way or another. EXCEPT for my Hubsan H107L and my Eachine CG023 mini. Both unkillable :-)
Love the green!!! I pretty much only fly my X4 with the DX8, it makes it a whole new monster.
Dubbin1 So purrty! :) And yeah, it's awesome flying these with the DX8. :)
Just wanted to thank you for all you videos they are very well thought out and informative. Also for your link in the cheerson cx10 video gearbest is an awesome little sight picked up the cx10 and some other nice inexpensive gear and gagdets.
drallen888 Thanks! :) And yeah, I'm really impressed with GearBest. They are really working hard to make a name for themselves, and I've been very happy with their prices and service. :)
Green goodies on a very green day 😄👌
***** Gotta love that green. :D
great review as always love the green & the super fast yaw rate :)
UAV marky Thanks! :)
@@theimacman how do you fly it?
Im flying that outside and that works perfect!
Thank you so much for the link
Parker Olson Glad to help. :)
i'm diggin your channel dude. you have some good reviews. yeah the flips have a bit of a learning curve to them with this quad although once you get the hang of them they are cake. i especially like barrel rolls and front and back flips while flying at full throttle
Glad you're enjoying my channel! :)
well done Ryan
***** Thanks! :)
How was your new years Ryan? I was patiently waiting for a new video from ya haha! This is a pretty sweet one though, love this little quad.
***** It was good, yours? I filmed 18 new videos last weekend, so I will be back to M/W/F releases for a few more weeks, until I need to film again. :)
Mine was great as well thanks for asking! Spent it with some friends at a party so pretty fun haha. Oh man 18 videos thats no joke lol, I look forward to them!
Love your reviews ....keeping up the good work ....goodluck ....cheers !!! Thanks☺
sameer kadam Thanks! :)
Oh ma gah, ordered one 30 seconds into the video. I'm in desperate need of a new x4 controller, and neon green is also my jam xD Great vid!
Eiyad Alkadi Haha nice, hope you like it! :)
I feel you Flyin Ryan I love GREEN AND BLACK ! Buying This right after this vid lol had to pause to tell u that !
Elio Mella Haha! :D
i really love neon green,tks
Frank Ma Me too! :D
Great video, Thanks!
+TheRealHuckJones Glad you liked it! :)
Its funny when you said,"i don't wanna go crazy with it, i don't want it to break" because I got an h107c as my first quad and broke it in a week (accidently crashed into lake)
themost amazing Doh! >< Sorry to hear that. :(
I love green to its my favorite color
That thing really moves out on high rates. Glad to see a good yaw in low rates too. Strange that it couldn't get a good funnel going on either rates. And those flips are sloppy as hell. I agree just give me a momentary button push and then the next pitch input.
hallis1 I'm sure I could get a great funnel going if I had more stick experience with this particular quad. It just seems that the rates aren't quite proportional enough to just slam the sticks to their max… I would need to give less input on one of the sticks to match the other, and then it should do a great funnel. I just don't have enough practice with this one to know what that input would be.
neon green we all know ryan loves green, haha. nice job flyinRyan
4thGloryMonday Thanks! It's like this thing was made just for me. :D
Your video proved me that the current version of Hubsan X4 has the same issues than my second one:
1) weakest motors I've ever seen (it does flip just fine with prop guards on if you change to better motors; quad also becomes easier to control)
2) doesn't really do funnels or nice banked turns
3) easy to get accelerometer confused causing quad to drop from the sky (even with better motors, but less so)
4) bad leds for outdoor orientation (pointing up to the sky)
I bet it has the rest of the issues as well, like low rated LiPo which only works with those weak motors etc..
My first H107L had much more powerful motors, which made it much better flyer, but I managed to break 2 motors in no time and burn FET on it...
PS. I'm really loving my JJRC1000A green led edition; because of faster yaw it is damn close to V252.
Matias Griese I agree, to some extent, with your observations. I also need to get my hands on that new 1000A. :)
Flyin' Ryan RC Here's the topic where I'm talking from the new version of 1000A:
www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthread.php?t=2163857&page=11
Matias Griese Yep, I saw your comments there already. :) I ordered a BNF from Tmart, so fingers crossed that it's the new one! :)
My new hubsan is always drifting towards right even after trimming, calibrating gyro and tx.. Tried changing new sets of props.. Still drifting.. Whole time of flight I need to give counter input to keep it hover..
Abdul Jabbar Sounds like it has that nasty accelerometer issue I've seen mostly in nano quads, but in a few micros too. It's like the accelerometer just gets confused and forgets what level is. :(
Hey Ryan. Love your vids. I wanted to share a quadcopter story with you. I'm an RC newbie. Last month I was flying my H107C on a sunny day after it snowed. I was looking forward to getting some great video. I ended up getting to copter to high and the wind took it. I immediately shut it down and it dropped. I looked for it for an hour in 6" deep snow. After a few days of looking I gave up. After it rained and the snow melted a week later, I found it on my neighbor's roof. I accepted that it was probably dead. I dried it out for 2 days and it fired right back up! Too bad you have to save the video before the battery goes dead. :( Would have been great footage.
Eatongee Yeah, the wind is so unpredictable up high… one of the main reasons I rarely fly high. Glad you found it and that it works though! The battery was probably toast though, right?
Didnt try to charge it yet. I'll let you know.
Eatongee It's likely dead, since the LEDs would've stayed on and drained the battery entirely, and once you drain a LiPo entirely, it's done. Definitely keep a close eye on it if you try charging it… may be a fire hazard.
Hey Ryan, Hubsan made an H107D+ quad with a 2.0MP camera and altitude hold. And it looks awesome! (To my eyes)
+XtreemX 01 Yeah, I will try to get the new "plus" models for review, but from what I've heard so far, they are not very good. :(
I was really excited when I got good at flying these. I was doing back to back flights and I guess I should have let it rest more than 5 minutes in between flights. The gyros burnt out after about 15 flights. I went through 4 of them in 4 days.
What do you mean that the gyro burnt out? I'm not sure that's even possible. Do you mean motors were dying?
+Flyin' Ryan RC : all of them developed a drift that could not be corrected and they steadily became worse. All the motors we're spinning fine. The one I have now starts up fine and starts a backward drift that steadily becomes worse to the point that it will no longer respond to a forward command at all. If it is a motor going bad , how do you know which one? It's not like they start going diagonal in the direction of the bad motor. This happened in almost the same way on 4 different ones after about 15 to 20 flights with no crashes. I have extra motors and I can successfully replace them. I love these things but every one goes bad after 20 flights. Any suggestions? If I hold it in my hand at tilt it at different angles I can't tell any difference in the strength of the motors. Thanks for replying.
erosionhead420 Interesting. I have indeed seen that problem, right out of the box, with some models. But I don't think I've ever had it develop over time. Maybe you are indeed causing it by overheating the model. Not really sure.
+Flyin' Ryan RC : I was making 5 back to back flights every night. One would go bad , then I would start all over with another one. Lol. I ordered a couple jjrc 180's so I could use all my spare props and batteries. They are only $20 a piece. I'm new to this and just guessed it had to be gyros going bad since the motors seemed equally strong. I was flying the hell out of them but I stayed in standard mode. Someone else told me that they only get around 20 good flights out of them also. Maybe I'll try replacing all four motors on one and see what happens. The one I have left starts up absolutely perfect and then it starts drifting perfectly backwards . Going through $100 worth of x-4's in one week is a real bummer. Thanks again bud.
Ryan, sorry for using this to communicate but I don't know any other way. About the X6 Hubsan clone, the ebay seller worlddepot sells it, claiming it is a Hubsan X4. Many other ebay sellers sell the "top selling X6" under its own name.
My impression of the X6 is it is a high quality item. Mine had nothing wrong with it and it looked NICE, metallic blue. They also have a metallic green, hint, hint. My issue is it flies too skittish on low rate so I couldn't control it. Every flight ended with a crash.
My other quads are Husan X4,, Estes Proto X, Cheerson CX10 and Traxxas Alias. All fly very stable for me.
Love your reviews, yours are the ones I trust. From your reviews I chose the quads I did to buy. Keep 'em flying!
I don't have the H107L, but I just got a H107C and man, that thing can fly! I ran into the same problem with funnels on the expert/high-sensitively mode. I thought maybe mine was defective, but I see that you have the same problem. It's almost like the movements are too fast for the accelerometer to process. When it gets a little nicer outside (i.e. above freezing and after the snow melts), I'm going to try it in a decent-sized grass field to see if I can get it to work.
Marozzo1536 I'm sure it's doable, I think you just need to find the exact amount of right stick input to give. I don't think the rates are proportionate enough for it to work by just giving full input on both sticks.
I think you might be right--now if only the weather would get a little better so I could test my theory. I'm actually okay with the flips being squirrelly since I'm able to turn that mode off (i.e. clicking the left stick). I'm more interested in the aggressive flight characteristics--i.e. flying, turning, and twirling this thing balls-fast on the "expert" mode.
One thing I'm noticing--now that I have a Kodo, F180, and H107C--is how different these all fly. The Kodo is kind of like an SUV, whereas the F180 is like a sports sedan with a triptronic transmission (well, at 100%, it's a lot more than that). However, the H107C is more like a tuned sports car with rear wheel drive and a stick shift--you can drive it nicely, or you can stomp the gas and careen off the road.
Marozzo1536 Good descriptions. :) A lot of people think all quads are the same, or just because they may have the same body design as something else, that means they fly exactly the same. But there's so much more to it than that. :)
Hey ryan good review as always i was just wondering u mentioned the flight times for the different size batteries but what are the charge times for the bigger batteries
+Ben Pyka I'm not sure... I didn't test all that.
go green ! cool led 's
I just got the nano qx FPV. its bad ass. only down fall is you cant record. there is zero lag in video. the goggles are pretty sweet. also has head tracking! highly recommend
TheBigb1973 Are you sure you can't record via the goggles? I've seen flight videos of it, so there must be some way to do it...
Maybe something external idk. But there is absolutely no card slot
There are a few output jacks on it.
Hi Ryan: How does the flight time with the 240 mAh battery compare with flight time of H107C/380 mAh? I believe the H107L is lighter but it also has lower mAh battery so not sure how that all works out in terms of flight time. Also, do the Hubsan 380 mAh batteries actually fit in the H107L?
you should review a hornet transport rc helicopter youll love it really easy to fly and has some pretty cool features
Awesome! Do you plan to review the new Camera plus and FPV plus models? I'm REALLY excited about the Altitude hold on them.
+Frank Pirolo Yes, I am, but that alt hold mode ruins them. It does not work well, and it makes them really awkward to actually fly.
+Flyin' Ryan RC Hey you should do the Holy Stone predator hs170. It is not popular, but that quad flies and handles well, I'd like you to review it.
***** I reviewed the original model that they rebranded: ua-cam.com/video/qh4VCMJPV7A/v-deo.html
Would you suggest that I get the traxxas latrax alias if so pleas tell me
Out of all the multirotors in the house the lil Hubsan H107l is my favorite. I absolutely love it! I beat the hell out of it flying crazy, spend about 15mins soldering a part or two back together on ocassion and back to flying. Extremely reliable, the repairs are always due to something I pushed into happening. Is it me or does this quad seem to fly better after you've stressed it some? Mine seems to trim out like it has gps and alt-hold....lol....just messing around I've actually flown it using nothing but trim adjustments. Granted it was mostly just hovering and extermely lite manuvering. Has yours seem to have gotten better over time?
+Muhammad Steinberg Agree
Good vid
Rc Tom Thanks! :)
To this day, you can get that from Tenergy on Amazon Canada.
I wish Flyin Ryan can do the Holy Stone predator hs107. It is an amazing flyer.
+U.SS- NX01 I reviewed the original model that they rebranded: ua-cam.com/video/qh4VCMJPV7A/v-deo.html
Flyin' Ryan RC Sorry for spamming, but thanks for the immediate response.
I have also seen a full black version of the X4, only it was 3 times more expensive...
Heli-View NL Sounds like a possible scam....
You are an amazing pilot holy crap!
yodamunkey I can't tell if that's sarcasm, since this wasn't exactly one of my best flights, but thanks! :D
Haha. If you saw me fly you would know that I am NOT being sarcastic! lol
yodamunkey Hahaha! :)~ I've been flying for about 9 years now, so I've had a decent bit of practice. :) Keep at it, and you'll get there too! :D
Oh that makes me feel better! Thanks!
yodamunkey I have a "Beginner's Guide To Quadcopters" video with some tips to help practice flying, and I will be doing some flight tutorial videos soon, where I will have footage of what I'm actually doing on the sticks, if you want to check those out. :)
Looks nice a nice quad :) I just got a Syma x12 recently.. I'm wondering what to get next... Also, i'm unsure whether you have or not, but you should do a tutorial on how to fly a quad :)
aidan00ah I have: ua-cam.com/video/N4qJNgV0DGI/v-deo.html
Flyin' Ryan RC Ahh right thanks for that :)
Nice review Ryan. What is the difference between the 107L and 107D , which is what i have with the first person view controller .
I think flight time is a little more then the 107D ? If so is it the Batteries that give it a better flight? Or is it the Newer more efficient 107L Model?
Thanks in advance for your reply.
EL EVO They are the same, except the D has the camera and FPV equipment, and bigger motors to account for the extra weight. The weight and running the camera and FPV equipment takes a lot more power than the H107L which does not have those extra things.
i so want that fish lamp
4thGloryMonday Haha! :D
I keep my x4 full throttle from the floor to about a foot from the ceiling in my living room then flip. You need a bunch of speed into the flip
Cr125stin Yeah, and I'm not sure it's even possible with the prop guard on, in as little height as I had to work with.
Great looking Quad! I know we shouldn't swap props and stuff for the reviews but for your personal flights, cg022 props are wonderful for Hubsanx4! With them on it even flips without hitting the floor! I can't get a Hubsan x4 to do funnels on out of box settings.. I don't think they can! However, if you dial everything down to lowest settings but keep side flying kinda high on expert settings I can bank turns and pull off funnels! But, they don't let you dial expert settings down low enough to have it really stable in aggressive flight :P
Frequent Flyer RC Yeah, but CG022 props aren't neon green! :)~ hahaha I may have to try that on my H107C though. :) The rates do seem to be a bit of an oddball on this quad. They are fast, for sure, but they feel a bit twitchy and not proportionate to eachother, which is why I think there are issues trying to do funnels. I'd need to figure out which stick to not give full input on and hold it just right to match the rate of the other stick. :/
Flyin' Ryan RC thank you for completing my request and i am buying that coloured cover and putting on my hubsan x4
Flyin' Ryan RC do you wish that you were a green alien engineer so you can make green ufos?
Flyin' Ryan RC and i have a tenergy 380 mah battery
and that is on ebay
I think they missed on this one...they should have called it the Flyin' Ryan Edition!
B Fun :D That would be pretty cool and flattering. :)
Great review Ryan as always. I went and checked out there site at socal hobbies they have a pretty good selection of quads. How long was shipping for you? I live in AZ so do you think it would be faster shipping considering the state I'm located in?
Donny Goodall Shipping took two days from Cali to Illinois. :) So, I wouldn't be surprised if you got it next day. :D
nice colour indeed, but never liked these prop guards.. I have the H107L the black one, its a great flyer. For me the H107L and the Nano qx are the top mini flying machines right now (number 1 the Nano qx and number 2 the Hubsan :P ) Nice review as always :)
costas1010 I don't normally fly with the prop guard on, as it definitely flies better without it, but I wanted to show it with the guard on, since it does actually work quite well (and I didn't want to hurt my new baby, lol), and beginners will really want to use it. The Nano QX is definitely the best micro. I think the WLtoys V252 V2 is better than the H107L, but you can't get it any more, so it's a bit of a moot point now. :/
How would you compare this to the syma x11? Is the x4 or x11 better for indoor flights? Still would like a stable and fast copter.
hipertec917 X11 has geared-props which makes it have much longer and stable flights. It is much slower than the H107L though. I like the X11 better indoors because it's slower, and it can get fast enough to be fun. The X4 is definitely much faster though.
we just bought an x4. We have calibrated everything per the instructions. When we take off the x4 immediately flies straight back and often does a back flip. The x4 does not gain altitude. If I move the right stick forward (in mode two) it does not flip but still flies backward. Do you have suggestions?
gandersen1066 Are you sure the props are on in the correct positions? Otherwise, sounds like it may just be a defective control board.
Hey Do u know where to get replacement stock motors for This H107 green
Elio Mella You can get replacement motors for the H107L (color does not matter) pretty much anywhere. Here they are at Banggood: www.banggood.com/2-x-7mm-Hollow-Cup-Motor-For-Hubsan-H107L-Upgraded-Version-p-80923.html?p=Z431161082112012126P
wow i just got into drones and stuff and i was wondering if this would be a good beginner drone and does it have a little camera sorry i just kinda skimmed through most of the video but will go back and watch it
TypoGaming 123 No, this is not good for beginners, and this version does not have a camera, though there is a version of this quad with a camera, called the H107C. Here is my suggestion for beginners: ua-cam.com/video/N4qJNgV0DGI/v-deo.html
Do you prefer this or the blade nano qx in your opinion and they should really call this FLYIN RAYAN EDITON
victor mggvdgt1fd1b1y1w1wqwe4q sardar I prefer the Nano QX for nice precise indoor flying. The X4 is better if you want to fly fast, or outdoors.
Hell Yeah!!! :)
Ryan.... have u heard much on the Hubsan X4 H109s? Price? Release date? Etc.... and whats ur pre thoughts abt it?
suprachris I've heard some mixed info about price, and maybe a March release date. But it's been in development since early 2014, and they have claimed several different release dates already, and then missed them all, so I wouldn't hold your breath for any concrete release date. Hubsan basically releases when they are ready. heh Price has been stated as anywhere from $800 (which would likely be the most minimal form, maybe even BNF) to $2,000. I'm guessing $1,000-$1,500 for an actual RTF version, and then maybe up to $2,000 with gimbal, parachute, etc, etc. Hobbico has also announced that they are rebranding is as the Heli-Max ORA, and their MSRP is $1,500-$2,000, depending on accessories. And since American rebrands are always more expensive than the original, I think we can safely bet that the H109S will likely max out around $1,500. That's just my educated guess though. :) And the H109 has also been brought back, and it looks absolutely amazing for just a nice simple brushless sport quad, kinda like the Blade 200 QX. I expect that to sell for $200-$300.
can you review h108 husban spyder next it's bright green I think you will like it battry bay is better to slide battry in too it comes with 2 spar set of props white and green this will make me very happy I'm a huge fan of you work
James Parks Yep, I will be reviewing that in the near future. :)
thank you very much
I watch you channel almost every day quadcopters and air plains mostly quadcopters
hi man i like ur video's they are awesome, but where is proto x fpv video? can' t wait much longer ...lol
Hey, I just got mine too! Is that high pitch noise normal??? Is it the ESC's doing their job or a motor is bad? It's quite loud and the wife wont let me fly inside it bothers her so much.
Danny Shannon It's normal. Check out my video about the 3-blade props… they are much quieter, and maybe you could use them for indoor flying. :)
Great video! yeah GREEN! can get greater than that!
TOJO RC Best color ever! :D
Flyin' Ryan RC Yeah
figured you would like green tojo
***** yeah lol
lol...somehow I knew I'd see you commenting here :-)
I found one in Walmart where you find the key to get it
Hello Ryan ...Can you plz tell , can I charge Hubsan x4 h107l small batteries like 380 and 240 power 3.7v by using samsung S4 or S3 mobile or other mobile wall charger, and also suggest other modes ( adapter ) to charge these types of small R.C batteries. Thanks and cheers !!
sameer kadam Yes, any adapter or USB power source will work just fine. The charger determines the charge rate, not the adapter. :)
Amazon is were you can get everything even a jet ski also they carry this quad
Hi F.R what would you get this or X11 if you had to choose one?
Evan Michelson This.
Where would you bye a new circuit board for your green hubsan. I fried mine when two motor wires crossed.my falt completely :( love your videos
dbeam8765309 The X4 is so popular that you should be able to get parts for it just about anywhere, but here's Banggood's listing: www.banggood.com/Upgraded-Hubsan-H107-X4-RC-Quadcopter-Spare-Parts-Receiver-H107-A34-p-81699.html
Flyin' Ryan RC thank you. Keep up the good work. You plan on making a custom qadcoper for yourself.
dbeam8765309 Not likely. I'm just not really into building kits. I just like flying, so I prefer the RTF/BNF stuff. Leave the building to the factory workers. lol
Hi Mr.Ryan can you please suggest a 500mh or 380mh battery for better flight ...just received new hubson from banggood.com ,want to order a extra battery. I am confused which one is good for flights and motors ...thanks and cheers
sameer kadam
500mAh: www.banggood.com/3_7V-500mAh-Battery-For-Hubsan-X4-H107-H107L-H107C-H107D-V252-JDX385-p-88012.html?p=Z431161082112012126P
380mAh: www.banggood.com/Upgraded-25C-3_7V-380MAH-Battery-For-Hubsan-X4-H107-Ladybird--p-69870.html?p=Z431161082112012126P
I had a couple of questions about two particular quads, the Hubsan X4 and the Syma X11. Which quad is the better choice for intermediate/beginner? Also, if I put in a bigger battery in the Hubsan X4 than the stock, say a 380 or a 500 mAh, will it jurastically change the flight patterns, tricks, or flight times? I can`t choose between the two. Anybody feel free to respond, and give any tips or suggestions. Thanks!
Reacti0n X11 would be better for beginners, because it is calmer in flight and easier to fly. The X4 is pretty fast and twitchy. A bigger battery will give longer flight times, but slightly worse flight characteristics. It's not drastically worse though.
please make a video in which you show all of your R/C stuff and the place in which you store them
Kylian Schwaiger I have way too much to do that now. lol I did an RC Collection video awhile ago, but the collection has grown A LOT since then. It would take entirely too long to show them all, etc. :/
Flyin' Ryan RC anyways... I'm a fan of your videos I really like your reviews
and when you fly your R/C's can you make it in a bigger room plz
Kylian Schwaiger Nope. I film/fly in my kitchen for several good reasons.
OK
You know how I am a big fan of green, so that is like heaven!!! Great vid. Have you seen the new Hubsan x4 h109s brushless? It looks awesome but there is no info on it, as well as the Kickstarter Zano, which looks really cool.
*not the H109s, the H109(not the x4 pro)
OllieTheCat2012 Isn't she a beauty!? LOVE IT! And yes, I have been keeping up with all the Hubsan info coming from CES. The H109 looks PERFECT for the kind of flying I like to do! It may throw up some serious competition for my current favorite, the Blade 200 QX. Not even remotely a fan of the Zano though. These "drones" that are designed for people that have no flying experience are terrifying. They are what is ruining this hobby. When those automated systems fail, these people will have no idea what to do, and no true skills to fall back on, and we will see these things crashing into people and property all over the place. I don't like it one bit. It's like some terrifying sci-fi future where a bunch of tech geeks are walking around constantly talking selfies of themselves with their little pet drones. :(
Couldn't have said it better myself, but it does have a free flight mode, where you can fly it yourself. I completely agree however, as soon as people begin to get hurt, things are going to get banned. And yeah, I love the look of the Hubsan H109, and I'll have to see what its like before i decide to shell out on a 200QX, but knowing Hubsan, it'll take a good while! What's strange is, my local hobby store is selling the 350QX RTF for $50 more than the Blade 200QX with a DX5i transmitter. Think thats a better deal?
OllieTheCat2012 That is a great deal (is it an older model 350QX?), but the 350 is quite a different beast than the 200. Very different level of responsibility and pressure/stress in flying a quad like the 350.
Flyin' Ryan RC
Agreed. Never mind the soon to be seen notices in a town near you that say: No Drones Allowed...I can imagine the day that is coming when some bozo’s X4 Pro pops it’s parachute, drifts onto a freeway and wraps itself across the windshield of some unsuspecting motorist doing 70mph.
wow, this thing is really GREEN!
they shoud have named it Flyin' Ryan Edition! ;)
Michael Kiesel That would've been incredibly flattering if they did. :D
Thanks bro ur the man
Elio Mella Glad to help. :)
Hi Ryan how does this compare to the Kev f180?
Evan Michelson This is faster, F180 is easier to fly for new pilots.
For true Hubsan X4 nirvana Ryan you really need a bright green transmitter.....then funnels would be no problem at all.....!!..:-)
David H LOL! :D
Glad you showed both hands during that review.
Me think you almost...........
Its real fast
Can you reveiw the rc eye one xtreme?
KoalaLover❤ I wasn't planning on it, but I've had a lot of requests to do so, and they recently announced a gimbal of the Mobius cam for it, so that has me rethinking it. So, I may review it, and the gimbal, next season (it's winter here now), if the price seems doable. :)
What's the flight time and are the arms durable?
+Devotedport13 I discussed flight time in the review. The arms are decently durable.
It's okay i ordered an estes proto x i actually thought it was kinda funny
Do you have the green Protox?
Alpatriod No, but I have a green Hubsan Q4. :)
The best color is green!!
Israel Calderon Absolutely! :D
How long should I let the motors cool down before flying again? Especially with the prop guard
Mike Palleschi 10 minutes or so should be plenty. :)
awesome thank you, I just got 3 extra batteries for the H107L black version and i dont want to burn out the motors too fast
I cant say what the guy said, how long do i wait?
Julian Eulderink 10-15 minutes should be good.
Hi Ryan! Love your review, thanks for that. I just got one of these green H107Ls as a gift, but when I went to disconnect the battery from the charger, the port on the charger that plugs into the battery disconnected and broke! Luckily, I have a different charger for it, but now the quad leans really hard to the right. On low rates, it takes full left on the stick to make it move an inch every few seconds or so. I've re calibrated the acceleromter on a flat surface many times and the trim buttons don't seem to be doing anything at all. I have swapped out the blades with the spares, although both sets look to be in perfect condition. I am not using the prop guard. Should I go back to the store and swap it out for a different one, or is there something I can do? Thanks for your help in advance.
Adding the prop guard makes it more stable and it doesn't lean nearly as much, however I have to use nearly full throttle to keep it at a hover, and I only get about 3 minutes of flight time on a full charge. It keeps yawing every now and then, but weirdly. For example, during a hover it will yaw slightly to the left, and then back to the right. Trimming the yaw doesn't do a whole bunch except make it yaw constantly (if I give enough trim). I've reset the transmitter to make sure all of my trims are reset as well. Everything is on default settings.
NoahWL1 Sounds like you may have a weak motor or two, or a bad gyro/accelerometer. Since it is new, I would try to just get a replacement/refund.
Flyin' Ryan RC Thanks, doing that now :)
Just got a replacement, and it flies great! Still using a lot of throttle though, is yours the same?
NoahWL1 With the prop guard, yeah. I don't recall exacts, but without the prop guard I don't recall needing a ton of throttle.
Do you know if I can use AC adapter to charge the battery?
Loc Tran Yeah, any power source with a USB plug will work. :)
O thank you. I am afraid that I might fry my battery
Loc Tran The USB charging cable will determine the charging rate, regardless of the power source. :)
I'm not a fan of the Hubsan flip either, other than that I like them. The controller that comes with the H107D works much better ergonomically than the one that ships with this model.
kdjhsdfhdslfkj Yep, good call, I usually use my H107D Tx to fly the X4 when I'm just flying for fun. :)
You reviewed a Hubsan Protocol Transceiver in one of your videos, do you ever use that and your Spektrum radio to fly these quads ?
kdjhsdfhdslfkj I do! Though, the X4 isn't much of a regular flyer for me, so I don't often fly it just for fun in my free time.
Ok, thanks for replying so promptly ... as usual :-)
My props break easily after a crash and had creases.
Sometimes they even flew off.
sean ang Yep, that happens. If you use a prop guard, like I have on this one, it'll help keep that from happening, but it will negatively affect flight performance.
quads that have a flip button are programmed to lift up the throttle before the flip. the hubsan does not. to get a nice flip you need to be ascending before hand (like a quad without autolevel), much better to do outside too with this quad.
AndyClayton Not all have that pre-programmed throttle punch, but yeah some do. I was giving throttle, but with the prop guard on, and my limited space, it just wasn't working out. But, that's good info for people who want to know how it flies indoors. :)
This actually looks faster and more agile than the standard x4
patrick sanderson That's just cause green looks fast. lol Seriously though, I don't think there are any changes from the standard H107L... just a cool new paint job. :)
Won one of these ( green ) at auction today on eBay for $41.76 + $9.99 expedited shipping included. GO ME !!! Thought I may as well throw my hat in the ring again and ended up winning a Syma X5C-1 for $77.99 w/free expedited shipping.
***** Sweet! :)
Flyin' Ryan RC Are you familiar with eBay seller " lahobby ", Ryan ? Evidently they're familiar with you. They're who I'm getting my green H107L from and they dropped your name into our conversation when I called about shipping tonight :D
***** Yep, that is SoCal Hobbies' (who I mentioned in this video) eBay store. :)
i have this exact one. it seems to drift backwards though even when offsetting the calibration.. ill lift the back end up with something.and hold the right stick to the bottom right and then move the right stick back and forth and when i take off it will fly forward but then it still starts to fly backward for some reason... i flew mine a little too high in the wind one day and i lost in it in a neighbors back yard. unable to retrieve it i put up flyers and about 3 weeks later some one finally brought it back. it had gotten lightly rained on a couple times and it still works just fine.. maybe 90% compared to brand new. the motors seem to go (whaaaa whaaa whaaa) sometimes vs (WAAAAAAAAAAAA) ((if that makes any sense)).that is at a stable hover anyway. But if i could get some help with the drifting backward thing. like a i said raising the back and reseting it and using trim doesn't seem to do the job when getting it to be more stable.. all in all though this thing is awesome.. It was my first RC and i was really happy with it. BUY extra props though. you WILL crash and some extra batteries.
i bought extra props from banggood they are a differnt green color and about a $1 a piece i wonder if there are better props i could get.
BIONDIEST Check the manual… there is a process to recalibrate the transmitter as well. Try that. If that doesn't fix it, then you may just have some sort of water damage to the motors or control board, and that could be causing the problem.
i have tried everything. It used to fly backwards even before the water damage. I was just flying it. still flys pretty solid. i think i just need to calibrate it on a higher slope and that seems to work. ever since i put the props on from banggood it seems to loose control on tight turns.. i might get another one eventually or some new motors. i was thinking about getting the traaxxas one that is around 150 180.
great video!Is this model stable?
+varun arul Sure, all quads are stable, but there are more stable quads than this one.
Thanks for your replies, sir! Really appreciate it.
Sooo what's your favorite color?
+noisynerdman Blue. lol j/k :)~
Can i use this propellers on cx-10
+Piku Sk No
lol
Hey, Ryan, I would like to see you review a quadcopter called top selling x6. I am not referring to the green one you did that looks reptilian, I am referring to the one that is a Hubsan X4 clone. I bought one on Ebay from a China seller called worlddepot. That guy called it a Hubsan X4 so I didn't know what I was getting. I have 3 Hubsans and fly them with no problem but this X6 is a bear for me to fly. The low rate on the transmitter is too high and the thing just darts like crazy around my living room till it crashes. A lot of people have reviewed it on youtube and they all like it but I trust your reviews and would like to see you take it on. thanks.
351mrclean Yeah, there are a ton of people fraudulently selling that as a legit Hubsan X4. It's because of that reason that I wanted to not review it (don't want to reinforce the sale of such a fraudulent clone). But, who knows, maybe it's worth reviewing since so many people are getting it.
Is this brushless motors?
noooo
Quick question big sexy😉
wltoys v252 vs hubsan h107L, who wins in your opinion?
Far as that goes, what's your favorite mini-micro multirotor?
coolblue32q Big sexy?! LOL :)~ Anyway… V252 V2 is my preference over the H107L, but it's kind of a moot point, since the V252 V2 was discontinued and can't be found anywhere now. :( My favorite micro quad is the Blade Nano QX, or Nano QX 3D now. :)

Story of my life.
I'll go watch your blade review and see what we have there.
Thanks for taking the time to respond 👍
You should've tested it outside! :D
Alberto Noys Then you wouldn't be able to see it on video, and I'd have to stand out in the freezing cold. ;)
Flyin' Ryan RC True. I'm charging three batteries to go into the freezing cold night right now because this thing is so much fun outside.
Please recommend me some intermediate level quads below $80
+varun arul You will need to watch my reviews and determine for yourself. Also, I don't track prices closely enough to make recommendations based on price.
Sure,thanks for your help sir!
