As much as I love DBZ there were many times when it wasn't so well-written or thought out but that's alright. The show made up for that in many other ways.
the story, the final product works awesomely but it is not so well thought out from scratch... toriyama wanted to end the Z series on namek saga, you can see everything he created from saiyan/namek saga does work out in some way to the great finale but from Android Saga onwards he just keep creating new things because his editors asked him for... dr gero would be the main villain then his editor asked for more he created 17 and 18.. then he asked for more and he created cell... there are a lot of plot holes, specially about power levels and all in Z but the overall experience is truly a masterpiece. Ok, things these days can do better but db/DBZ is from the 80/90s lol, DBZ created the whole shounen genre

It's something that can happen, something he knows can happen. On the other hand, he probably thought it more likely that Vegeta would die of a stroke rather than starting a family, so it really blindsided him.

Yeah in addition to trying to locate a weakness, Trunks got stronger through training in the chamber. He went back to the future twice. In once instance, he found the weakness - the deactivation switch. He returns to the future, shuts them off, Cell sneaks up on him and steal the time machine. In another instance, instead of taking the deactivation switch, he takes his increased strength back with him, as he trained in the chamber. In this future, he kills off the androids and Cell.

Bulma actually went over the possibility of using the Dragon Balls to end the threat immediately. Goku and Vegeta said no, Goku because they'd be punishing Dr. Gero for something he hasn't done yet, while Vegeta demanding that he has to test his strength against the androids. Krillin (quietly) backed the idea of letting the androids be completed because without a common enemy, Vegeta's a loose cannon.
Many years later we learned that this was the best course of action because Android 17 helped to save the entire Universe in DragonBall Super. If Krillin went with Bulma's idea, Android 17 would not had been created.

No, that's called time continuity.. Trunks had to maintain the time frame in order to get back his own timeline. If you spend 1 day in other dimension, you cant just go back at the moment you left. It would create a paradox and another timeline. So, You need to calculate how much time you spend in other dimension, that means if you spend 2 hours in other dimension, you need to go back 2 hours late in your original dimension to maintain the continuity. It's not hard to understand, Trunk's explained it in this video. When he traveled back in time, the time split into two realities: the reality where Goku survived and they were able to defeat the androids, and the reality that Trunks is from where the androids still exist (there's actually a third reality where cell originated, but I digress). When Trunks returned to his own time, he had to defeat the androids again because they still existed there.
Trunks going back to his own time defeat the androids and cell is one of my favorite episodes. He just does it, no long winded speeches, no chances for them to escape.

My dad used to watch and put us on to dragonball when my brother and i were youngings. He was watching it since he was about elementary grade in Mexico and when my brother and I got to Trunks’ arc and his movie, we used to weep to that mf and realize how hard and built Trunks and Gohan were in their timeline and how it morphed them🍻
My dad too, he's always been a big fan of DB and introduced me to it when I was a kid. I grew up with DB thanks to him and it's still one of my favorite series to this day, we still watch it
I was wondering about that a long time ago too back then. Bulma couldn't have forgotten about that as well. She was one of the only people alive who traveled to Namek by the time the Androids were killing everyone. I know they must've had ships to travel that far too. Another thing I was wondering was why didn't King Kai or anyone from the other world help them at all in Trunks' world? King Kai could've reminded them about the Dragonballs on Namek too if Bulma had forgotten. Sigh.

Yes you're right, the doctor you mention is Dr. Flappe, they did this in order to show who was the creator of Android 8, Dr. Gero was not created until the Android Saga. In order to "correct" this inconsistency, in Daizenshu 7 (Daizenshu are like guides that contains information about the series) it's stated that both Dr. Gero and Dr. Flappe might have been colleaguess

Yeah, the way temporal mechanics work is that once he goes back in time he already has affected the time stream and basically it branches out onto a different, parallel, quantum reality. You can't change the past, time streams are predetermined quantum realities. You can change your position onto a different reality (which is what he's done essentially, by going back in time and 'altering' the past), but the reality you embarked from will continue to exist as it was. You can only branch out.
Future Trunkz affected The Time stream when he stopped Goku from dieing from a heart disease, saved Vegeta and everyone else from being killed by The Androids, Android17 and Android18 wasn't 100% completed that's how Future Trunkz accidently created a brand new timeline.. it had nothing to do with Future Trunkz arriving in the past since The Timelines has changed yet..
If you check out some of the cinematics from Dragonball Heroes, it shows Trunks achieving SSJ3 against Majin Buu. So, that's one possibility. But as someone pointed out to me, by the time Future Trunks is getting ready to travel into the past, it's already been several years after Buu was supposed to show up. I guess this means Babidi was either killed by the Androids, or he never bothered showing up on Earth due to the lack of strong fighters.
It is scary to think that canonically, without time travel, everyone is supposed to die mere years after this conversation which wasn't supposed to happen. The ambition and hatred of an old man destroyed the world and killed some of the universe's greatest fighters.
I swear, Goku had the best reaction to hearing Vegeta and Bulma were going to end up together. And to be honest, it doesn’t surprise me that it happened. After spending years with a Saiyan child and seeing that determination and love for the fight, but also the pride of the Saiyan race reflected in Vegeta, a man who would literally do anything to get stronger. How could Bulma not fall in love with that? Trunks even said it, Vegeta’s pride may be foolish and selfish, but down at the core, it’s much more noble than that, it’s a reflection of who Vegeta is.

So, he used the time machine Trunks had in order to go to some point where that had not taken place (as you know).Cell's universe wasn't really one without hope (No androids left anyways) but it was still on the brink of post-apocalyptic ruin.
The sheer peril and grittiness of this series STILL hits. Plus the comedic relief with Goku is refreshing lol. Yet Goku can still be serious when he needs to be.
The Namekian dragon may have the same time restriction as the Earth dragon, where people can only be revived up to a year after their death. Trunks would have been like, 2 at the time and the only one who survived that has a chance of defending himself in space (Gohan) may have some difficulty doing the mission alone.
@@126644 King Kai tells Bulma the coordinates for new namek. Bulma puts them into the ship. Gohan and Bulma fly there. They have three wishes. 1. Unlock Gohan's potential. 2. Bring back Piccolo. 3. Bring Piccolo and Kami to Namek. This protects Piccolo or Kami from being killed again. Piccolo absorbs Kami and Dende is recruited as the new guardian. The three travel back to Earth. Gohan and Piccolo kill the Androids. The new Earth dragon balls are used to bring back everyone killed by the androids. Super Saiyan 2 is 2x stronger than Super Saiyan. A potential unlock (in the Namek Saga) was around a 6x boost (depending on the character.) So Gohan should have no trouble with defeating the androids, especially with Piccolo after absorbing Kami.
@2020vision 03 actually I just realized king kai didn't know the nameks location, he only knew the general direction, goku was able to use that direction to lock onto their ki signature and instant transmission to them. Something that wouldn't be possible in trunks time-line

By the time Trunks is older, the Nameks would have newer generations and not to mention, they don't personally know Trunks. They would probably still help him, but they moved planets, even Goku had trouble looking for the new planet and had to go see King Kai for help, the same dude that didn't even tell King Kai about the Androids until it was a little too late (cell).
When Season 3 comes around you won't have to imagine. Man, I can't wait to see how they handle this, particularly Goku's reaction to learning Trunks' parentage. 'Actually Goku that's just grape juice I gave you, bye now!'

Trunks was so cool back then now his character was written terribly in DBS and it makes it feel like a modern day Pokemon film whenever I watch an episode of Dragon Ball Super.But that’s today’s generation of fans. The stories that was included here in Z and how they were written is what this portion of the Dragon Ball story so captivating because characters were actually written with care and not cheap running gags like Goku being more forgetful based on jokes that the modern Dragon Ball fans have made.

What was the point in Trunks traveling back in time to warn Goku and friends of the past about the return of the Red Ribbon Army when Trunks can travel to other planets and collect other planets' set of seven dragon balls, summon the other planets' enternal dragons and wish Goku and friends of the future back to life in his own future timeline? Makes sense, doesn't it? It sure beats time traveling!
Trunks and hes story line reminds me of Kyle Reese from Terminator. He also was from the future traveled to the past to warn mankind of the future threats.

You know for how stupid Goku can be, he can keep a secret. He kept Trunks being Vegeta and Bulma’s son a secret from everyone for 3 years. Even when Vegeta found out it wasn’t even because of Goku, it was Piccolo who basically gave Vegeta the idea that Trunks was his son. The guy who eavesdropped on the conversation in the first place.
He said Goku helped him in a lot of ways. Just his influence kept Gohan and Bulma confident that they can get through there crisis and Trunks saw that and was raised on it.😁💪

At that point in time he start an alternative timeline if trunks wasn’t there the same events would’ve happened ; goku dies all the z fighters fall and the world belongs to the androids. Trunks had to maintain the time frame in order to get back his own timeline.
If you spend 1 day in other dimension, you cant just go back at the moment you left. It would create a paradox and another timeline.
So, You need to calculate how much time you spend in other dimension, that means if you spend 2 hours in other dimension, you need to go back 2 hours late in your original dimension to maintain the continuity.

@@struttux5156if trunks went back to the exact time where he left, it would create another parallel universe as trunks' timeline has gone ahead in time and he would be coming back to the past of his timeline so it wouldn't be his timeline anymore and the timeline that was originally his doesn't have a trunks anymore, that's why he must return to his exact timeline and to do this he must calculate how much time he's spent outside of it and come back to his timeline + the time he spent outside to the millisecond so he can come back to his exact same time line

It's not hard to understand, Trunk's explained it in this video. When he traveled back in time, the time split into two realities: the reality where Goku survived and they were able to defeat the androids, and the reality that Trunks is from where the androids still exist (there's actually a third reality where cell originated, but I digress). When Trunks returned to his own time, he had to defeat the androids again because they still existed there.
Trunks going back to his own time defeat the androids and cell is one of my favorite episodes. He just does it, no long winded speeches, no chances for them to escape.

He was watching it since he was about elementary grade in Mexico and when my brother and I got to Trunks’ arc and his movie, we used to weep to that mf and realize how hard and built Trunks and Gohan were in their timeline and how it morphed them🍻
My dad too, he's always been a big fan of DB and introduced me to it when I was a kid. I grew up with DB thanks to him and it's still one of my favorite series to this day, we still watch it

I was wondering about that a long time ago too back then. Bulma couldn't have forgotten about that as well. She was one of the only people alive who traveled to Namek by the time the Androids were killing everyone. I know they must've had ships to travel that far too. Another thing I was wondering was why didn't King Kai or anyone from the other world help them at all in Trunks' world? King Kai could've reminded them about the Dragonballs on Namek too if Bulma had forgotten. Sigh.
Maybe the Androids destroyed that ship and killed Bulma's parents so they were not able to create another spaceship, and if you recall that Bulma didn't created that spaceship it was created by Dr Breif (Bulma's father)

Yeah, the way temporal mechanics work is that once he goes back in time he already has affected the time stream and basically it branches out onto a different, parallel, quantum reality.
You can't change the past, time streams are predetermined quantum realities.
You can change your position onto a different reality (which is what he's done essentially, by going back in time and 'altering' the past), but the reality you embarked from will continue to exist as it was.
You can only branch out.

Future Trunkz affected The Time stream when he stopped Goku from dieing from a heart disease, saved Vegeta and everyone else from being killed by The Androids, Android17 and Android18 wasn't 100% completed that's how Future Trunkz accidently created a brand new timeline.. it had nothing to do with Future Trunkz arriving in the past since The Timelines has changed yet..
If you check out some of the cinematics from Dragonball Heroes, it shows Trunks achieving SSJ3 against Majin Buu. So, that's one possibility.
But as someone pointed out to me, by the time Future Trunks is getting ready to travel into the past, it's already been several years after Buu was supposed to show up. I guess this means Babidi was either killed by the Androids, or he never bothered showing up on Earth due to the lack of strong fighters.
It is scary to think that canonically, without time travel, everyone is supposed to die mere years after this conversation which wasn't supposed to happen. The ambition and hatred of an old man destroyed the world and killed some of the universe's greatest fighters.
I swear, Goku had the best reaction to hearing Vegeta and Bulma were going to end up together. And to be honest, it doesn’t surprise me that it happened. After spending years with a Saiyan child and seeing that determination and love for the fight, but also the pride of the Saiyan race reflected in Vegeta, a man who would literally do anything to get stronger. How could Bulma not fall in love with that? Trunks even said it, Vegeta’s pride may be foolish and selfish, but down at the core, it’s much more noble than that, it’s a reflection of who Vegeta is.

Watching this is a grown ass adult man still gives me chills. I'm a fan of the earlier terminatior movies and watching the future trunks anime really show cased desperation. Gohan with one arm still was a gangsta. Had he not been tag teamed he would have destroyed their asses.

So, he used the time machine Trunks had in order to go to some point where that had not taken place (as you know).Cell's universe wasn't really one without hope (No androids left anyways) but it was still on the brink of post-apocalyptic ruin.

The Android Saga is arguably to best era of DBZ, it is definitely the darkest.
The sheer peril and grittiness of this series STILL hits. Plus the comedic relief with Goku is refreshing lol. Yet Goku can still be serious when he needs to be.

The Namekian dragon may have the same time restriction as the Earth dragon, where people can only be revived up to a year after their death.
Trunks would have been like, 2 at the time and the only one who survived that has a chance of defending himself in space (Gohan) may have some difficulty doing the mission alone.
Gohan may not have a way to get to them. Goku did it with instant transmission a technique gohan can't learn lol
@@126644 King Kai tells Bulma the coordinates for new namek. Bulma puts them into the ship. Gohan and Bulma fly there. They have three wishes. 1. Unlock Gohan's potential. 2. Bring back Piccolo.
3. Bring Piccolo and Kami to Namek. This protects Piccolo or Kami from being killed again. Piccolo absorbs Kami and Dende is recruited as the new guardian. The three travel back to Earth. Gohan and Piccolo kill the Androids. The new Earth dragon balls are used to bring back everyone killed by the androids.
Super Saiyan 2 is 2x stronger than Super Saiyan. A potential unlock (in the Namek Saga) was around a 6x boost (depending on the character.) So Gohan should have no trouble with defeating the androids, especially with Piccolo after absorbing Kami.
@2020vision 03 actually I just realized king kai didn't know the nameks location, he only knew the general direction, goku was able to use that direction to lock onto their ki signature and instant transmission to them. Something that wouldn't be possible in trunks time-line

Such an epic arc of a storyline to experience at such a young age having a saiyan come from the future and talk about amending timelines.
By the time Trunks is older, the Nameks would have newer generations and not to mention, they don't personally know Trunks. They would probably still help him, but they moved planets, even Goku had trouble looking for the new planet and had to go see King Kai for help, the same dude that didn't even tell King Kai about the Androids until it was a little too late (cell).

Trunks was so cool back then now his character was written terribly in DBS and it makes it feel like a modern day Pokemon film whenever I watch an episode of Dragon Ball Super.But that’s today’s generation of fans.
The stories that was included here in Z and how they were written is what this portion of the Dragon Ball story so captivating because characters were actually written with care and not cheap running gags like Goku being more forgetful based on jokes that the modern Dragon Ball fans have made.

Makes sense, doesn't it? It sure beats time traveling!

You know for how stupid Goku can be, he can keep a secret. He kept Trunks being Vegeta and Bulma’s son a secret from everyone for 3 years. Even when Vegeta found out it wasn’t even because of Goku, it was Piccolo who basically gave Vegeta the idea that Trunks was his son. The guy who eavesdropped on the conversation in the first place.
He said Goku helped him in a lot of ways. Just his influence kept Gohan and Bulma confident that they can get through there crisis and Trunks saw that and was raised on it.😁💪
