Fun fact: some pilots actually prefered Hurricane over Spitfire. I don't know all the reasons but one is that Hurricane has bigger rudder which makes the plane more stable.
Well there was actually a Hurricane mk. Ia division in RAF made of Polish pilots. They have destroyed more than 126 aircrafts. 10% of all german planes which were send to the UK. The best squadron od WWII in terms of kills.

+jean-francoise marco yes and no, its not very consistent in the games I've played
I can't speak about RB, as I rarely play that, but in AB, its 47mm can take out light and medium tanks, if hit in the right spot. Because of the time between shots and the recoil that has to be factored in, it's a difficult aircraft to use in game.
I used mine to take out air targets (bombers, mostly) and shooting AA while working on the mods. In AB one just doesn't have the free time to make several passes at tanks to kill them with the 47mm before attracting the enemy. One might have more time in RB, though.
Ed Stoddard In RB, making several passes at low altitude just opens you up to getting boom and zoomed. As someone who mainly plays bnz fighters, attackers doing low altitude runs are easy targets.

I'm a bit frightened honestly.
He doesn't fly anymore, he's stopped a while ago.
If you don't stay current with your knowledge, it can slip away very quickly because there's so much to know, even for a Private Pilot.
Most pilots don't know how a wing works. They have rudimentary knowledge at best. Just as a bus driver doesn't really know the thermodynamics describing how an engine works. They drive the plane/bus, not design it.
asda89 Buses also drive on a two-dimensional plane (surface), whereas aircraft can use a third dimension.
asda89 I can't speak for every single pilot out there, just as you can't speak for "most pilots", unless you talked to over 50% of all pilots ever. But for many pilots I have met: professional, experienced, or vigorous trainee, including myself -- the absolute fundamentals of flying become a subconscious understanding. We don't recite all of it all the time, just as you don't tell yourself to breathe every second.
Now I'm not Phly, so I can't tell you if Phly just struggled to define what he was trying to say, or he truly displayed lack of knowledge.
***** I don't doubt the expertise or knowledge of pilots, in their trade. But fluid dynamics is not something that they have a thorough understanding of, unless they studied physics/engineering physics for a quite good time, which I doubt most pilots have.
That was the point of my analogy with the bus drivers. Pilots need to know how to fly a plane, not know how it works.
They do get a very rudimentary education on the topic, but many times even that is obsolete/straight up wrong.

I was playing a single mission with this plane and I almost rage quit when the enemy planes just kept bouncing my 40mm HE shells.
hey Steve, love the vids, keep up the good work, examples why they still train pilots the old (proper 1930's) way - if for example you have a full electrical (avionics) (lightning strike) failure and you aircraft is still flyable, being able to read and understand a map is priceless, another example, if you need to make a forced landing in an uninhabited area and need to walk out to safety, use of the good old fashioned map and compass will win everytime

Thick wing is good for lift at low speeds, like on a Piper Cub. The faster you go, the more air is passing over and under the wing, hence more lift. However, with more lift comes more induced drag, so the faster you go, the thinner an airfoil you want.

Columbus AFB is pretty neat. They always fly training routes over Starkville's campus; I'd see them fly over in pairs a few times a day when I was there.

the Columbus airbase is about 40 minutes from my house, I see planes fly over my house all the time rtb. once I saw an ac 130 fly over with an apache escort. I went to an airshow there a few years ago and they had a group of jets- it wasn't the blue angels, but they flew similar planes -also a line up of ac 130s and some stunt planes.
1:30, the wing is more thick because they needed more lift, if you see the wing, above looks like a mountain and below looks kinda flat, that makes the path of the airflow above the wing more lengthy, generating a less pressure sistem there, that means the high presure sistem below the wing will "push" the wing up, generating more lift, something needed because the plane was heavy and otherwise wouldn't be maneuverable, it would be interesting to see how the hurricane whould flown if it maintained the weight, but had thin wings, and some aerodynamics improvements

I live in Oklahoma City and see T-6's & T-38's fly over all the time, as well as E-3 AWACS & KC-135's. They used to have C-130's stationed here, but BRAC relocated them a few years back.

Fly. This is really really funny, I'm in a Youth Leadership Camp for Air Force ROTC and we were just talking about camber of wings and how the wing and the plane create lift. Typing this comment it is almost lights out. Great job on the video bro.
the surface area is the same no mater how thin or thick the leading edge is, depending in the actual size of the wing. it won't cause more drag or lift. the length and width is what determines that

Phly, have you tried using the Tempest with the Vickers guns? I can't seem to figure out how to make that plane work, the recoil and reload is just brutal...

That's what makes the mk4 good it's turning. It's got a damm good turning circle and can hold its own in a dogfight it ain't very good in a 1v1 with a fighter though but it's good enough to stall if in arcade for backup to help and then you've got the sky kv2 cannons which can have air target rounds

The RAF might be getting the electric lighting 2 which is vtol
The twin 40s, their 25 (I think) rounds of ammo each, they kept some 303s for targeting and the added armour to the cockpit, engine and radiator made it much heavier.
They modified the wing to generate the increased life required at it's allowed top speed.
It's 15 rounds each.

it is a very fun plane to use but you have to use stealth rounds to make it a little bit harder for yourself.
and rockets for those lucky kills if you know what i mean :).

IMO this is the most OP plane at it's BR, I have several 8 kill games in it since I began using it as a fighter and usually get at least 5.

i love playing this plane in tank RB. just take the T17E2 with it to get easy points and no uptier. it pens almost any tank at this tier.

with this plane you have to aim a little bit higher for the big cannons because they are lower on yo plane

You should play any P-38 (Except the E). Those are my favorite planes in the game after the P-47s got nerfed.

Watch yo want a 2.3 hurricane with two 40mm canons or a me 262 grade 6.3 with one cannon of 50mm
Phly, you really do need to fly the 40 mil hurry again. The air target belts are basically the same muzzle velocity as the 7.7s and imo the easiest guns to aim.
Phly where do i change the info on top left (can rounds speed and such) as Wade was asking? I'd like to see ammo count always and not just when its about to end. Thanks!

I am pretty sure the A-10 Warthog is retired and is getting replace with the F-35 Lightning 2 by Lockheed Martin.
actually the drag that was caused to make the hurricane gets extra drag you see that the landing gear is coverd by additonal doors it makes it gets extra drag with that big Radiator below the cocpit makes it gets extra drag
that is why it is slow
oh and even it had a non powerplant installed inside the engine to power up the engine

the f35 is for bomb rader, for exmple two f35 and 4 f15 go to a nuclear reactor the nonseen f35 takes rader and then the f15 can takes the nuclear reactor. semple
