Personally, I hate reserve tier and rank 1 as a whole because it’s genuinely bland gameplay where mostly everybody’s tank is on par with eachother. My personal favorite rank is rank 3 and early rank 4, and my favorite BR is 5.7. At 5.7 there’s a lot more diversity and you have to actually aim at your targets to penetrate them. And honestly the low caliber cannons of reserve tier are so annoying to use.

@@hunglikeahorse120 Every plane ever made and mounted with a gun is an energy fighter so just practice and be patient. Also ALWAYS FIGHT FROM THE HIGH GROUND... when possible... all dogfights no matter the starting elevation will work there way down to ground level given enough time so it helps to pay attention to how well your opponent maintains there energy which can vary drastically
@@gh8447 literally. Learning to fly was a "fly or die" thing back then. Hell the Red Baron himself crashed on his first solo flight. Planes made of wood and canvas that were more akin to motorized kites, no seat belts, no parachutes, no armor, engines that couldn't pass as a motorcycle engine by today's standard, your pilots seat is actually the top of your fuel tank, and to top it off you engine uses caster oil so you might get the runs... good times

Love the vids phly, also about the WWI aircraft, I've always been more interested in WW2, but I think that ww1 aircraft would be great in the game because of how edvanced they were for their time, and how they helped both sides drastically in the war, but phly I'm 100% with you on this one

@@martenkahr3365 T34-1 is worse. Tier VII with tier VI gun, no pen, aim time is longer than 122 mm guns with worse accuracy and it has zero gun depression nor is its armor any effective. And it's tier VII so grinding trough it takes ages

I'd be fine with WW1 birds as long as we worked our way down thru the interwar years more. The 1920s and 30s are absolutely amazing as far as aviation goes, even if the firepower doesn't climb that much higher than it did at the end of 1918.

I have been wishing for WWI or at least more interwar planes for years. I was excited when they added the Curtiss BF2C, then heartbroken when it was a premium just for China. There’s so much they could add. I have a book full of them and the thought of them being added taunts me.
Unfortunately they seem to be aiming all new vehicles at the few dozen players who spend gold to research everything new, and those players want shiny and fast.

Also Mosquito, and I don't think the french bombers all were metal. Flight model wise, wing warping instead of hinged ailerons could be quite a different feel though, as well as rotary engines that are a considerable percentage of the total plane weight (turning the plane when RPM's go up or down).
All those damn bombers...so painful...

That one battle in the middle where all the planes showed up and it was constant dogfighting thereafter is why I enjoy my low tier tank RB
I would love to see the British Sopwith camel, it had a radial engine that massively effected how it flew, as rolling to the right was incredibly fast, like rediculously fast, but it made you pitch down slightly, while rolling to the left was slow and made you pitch up, I could see some incredibly skilled players using this to their advantage
Rotary engine but yeah, it would be insane.
WW1 and more inter-war stuff would be so amazing, please Gaijin!
In my experience, if you want to fly the P-26, upgrade the pilot’s vitality because he’s going to get shot out a lot.
You should definitely play more low tier vehicles! Way more fun and entertaining imo

French reserve has the AMD.35 armored car tho. That thing can be surprisingly effective. It's basically a reserve puma.

The huricane mk.1 had fabric covered wings as well as a fabric covering from after the kockpit. The wings stoped being covered with fabric pretty quick but the tail section stayed canvas

I think it would be a good idea to make it so only WW1 vehicles can fight WW1 vehicles. So the Battle Ratings can be 0.3 and 0.7. And 0.3 - 0.7 Battle Ratings can’t fight Battle Ratings of 1.0 or higher.

The Fokker DR.1 would be so ridiculous lol. No throttle control, it's on or off. Rotary engine, so you've got the whole block spinning in there, you've got the bullet deflectors on the props or that fancy gear system to keep your bullets from shooting out your own propeller. So much fun

I play French Reserves to have fun. The armor on those things (especially the Renault Infantry Tanks) is SHOCKINGLY good - especially the Renault Char D2. Put your hull at a 45* angle to your target, and your hull becomes nigh impenetrable. The R.35 can do that too, but its side is a little lighter iirc. It's so funny watching a Panzer II dump their entire APCR belt at you and bounce ineffectually - then being unable to pen him in return.

A fun strat is to cut the engines so that the spaa’s can’t hear anything while you dude behind hills and come out of nowhere with twin 100lbs bombs

World War 1 aircraft would be awesome, and like you said would have an actual learning curve involved, with the engines being able to lift so much more than they did all that raw power will also be dangerous and stressful to your paper and wood wings

Back in August 2013 i started playing warthunder. I started with USA. Game was good but as soon as i unlocked the P40 i was shocked at how fast it was. Every new plane was a joy to unlock then try. High altitude bombing in the Catalina, hot dogfighting with the P40. How far we have come.
