I wish they had an AT-AT objective expansion when you had to take down the AT AT before it reached your side, I like recreating the battle of hoth, endor etc and that would make it complete
Getting these recommended to me after how much I've been getting back into Star Wars Legion recently. I'm surprised you're still doing these, a surprise, but a welcome one to be sure!
I'm just starting out, have 2 core boxes on the way. Where would I find the most up to date rules? All the talk of changes, updates and nerfs is a bit worrying.
Is anybody else experiencing a country-wide shortage of Arc Troopers (and Rex)? :) (Im EU) Nice vid btw, might just get that overpowered Yoda next... :D
I've watched all the WTB on a budget videos now and I've noticed a couple of things. the first is that they follow a very simmilar pattern on what to buy. Core set then more troops, then specialist personel, cards then a bunch of commanders which i'm not sure is right for every faction. surley if you are on a budget you want to focus on getting a playable 800 point army as quick as possible. So core set great first great, another troop choice is also good becuase at this point you have the minimum . at this point you want to be recomending cost effective units to push you up to 800, like death troopers / dewbacks for maybe T-47's/ wookies. At this point you are maybe another unit like an AT-ST to finish it off and then you can think about other commanders to swap out the core set ones. at this point the you may have spent like $270 (using the full ff price) but have a playable army. 2 cores a specialist and a padme are going to get you to about 800 points as well but you'll have spent $292 and not really have that interesting an army. 2 core sets is an option to get started but its a lot of the same and not a lot of fun factor.
I love seeing somewhat lesser known UA-camrs still giving such amazing energy and informative videos like this you're doing awesome keep up the great work and may the force be with you
Thanks for the video! Really helpful for someone just getting into the game. A bit disappointing that there have been so many nerfs to the Republic. :(
You said clones aren't great on vehicles atm, but isn't the go to clone list atm yoda/padme/saber tank focusing on making the tank get all the standby's in the world?
Thanks for these updates. I've beencollecting Legion for a while, but haven't been able to get any games in yet. So your content has had to take the place of play testing, though I don't know how our play styles match up. On a side note, I just got word that Yoda is finally on the way. I did learn a lesson: ignore the extra shipping and make pre-orders individuallt. I've been waiting on my Magna Guards due to them being on the same order as Yoda. Frustrating to see them on store shelves already when I don't know if I want more than 1.
Bummed that Arc Troopers and Rex fell so much from the nerfs. It didn't make theist, but my rule of cool purchase was an AT-RT. Was able to use the 2nd driver on one of my rebel AT-RTs so now I have 2 for kitchen table games.
I beg to differ on Rex. The only nerf he really got was that he went up 10 points. The change to "Take that clankers" was less of a change and more of a clarification. I never thought that you could use a shared aim token to benefit from "Take that clankers", so all it really did was stop you from using the tactical key word. And in my honest opinion if you are using "Take that clankers" on any of the three units that the GAR has that naturally have tactical, then you are wasting "Take that clankers". The best use of "Take that clankers" is with Z-6 Phase 1 squads. I also do feel that a pair of AT-RTs is worth it, but maybe not early on and only ever used as a pair. Edit: and before you bring up Offensive Push, I really don't use it too often as I feel that there are better uses for the 4 points.
It's a massive change when you consider that "free" aims can no longer help you. 99% of the time units who would do this had either Tactical 1 (Rex, Arcs, or Clones with a Training Slot) or a free Aim granted Electrobinoculars or the Phase 1 Specialist - so they could essentially Move + Shoot. Now you cannot move and shoot - which is a tremendous nerf to "Take That Clankers". The improved range is virtually negated by the fact that I could have simply moved closer and had a free aim to get the exact same effect.
Sad they lost control on the nerfs over the GAR. From the best to potentially the worst faction in the game. Rex's pip 2 didn't deserve the nerf, given the nerf on clones' sharing tokens ability
I know meta isn’t everything but the BEST Republic list is only 8 activations, two of which come from the Core set. This means a new player is only six buys away from an amazing list The list is of course the Yoda-Padme-Saber. So if you follow Sir Crabbok’s buyer’s list, get Yoda, Padme, the Clone Specialists (for the Clone Commander), and the crashed Escape Pod (for R2-D2). Skip the Infantry Support Vehicle and the LAAT (both are expensive and not liked in the meta at the moment) and instead by an extra Phase 1 and Saber Tank (right now on Amazon the Tank is about $15 more than the ISV and $10-$15 less than the LAAT). The list may be challenging to pilot.. maybe? But it’s pretty cost-effective on a budget and will win you tons of games! Do I run this list? Nope! I prefer fun to meta and I suspect Crabbok does, too. That’s why I bought tons of Wookiees and Wookiee Fluttercraft!
i have both core set and a few exspanion packs , i have out of the theexsanpsipon darth vader jedi lucke ,duke creue jen rosue r2d2 c3po empre chewboca hon solo endore lela
Awesome video Crabbok, I mainly play clones and I agree completely with this list. Must try and get phase II clones at some point but they are very expensive and always sell out quickly whenever I see them on sale. Still can't find Chewbacca for sale anywhere and it's been like this for awhile now so not sure when I'll be able to grab him. I've had to sub in the bowcaster Wookie from the Wookie set in the meantime. It's a shame what happened with Rex, I used to run him all the time and never bring Jedi but since his nerfs I've used mainly Obi and/or Anakin. Nice to see the Infantry Platform make the list, I think it's a great heavy for the clones as points wise it's not too expensive so I can see it fitting into lists easier.
Hey man! I was wondering what you think I should get for CIS now that there have been updates. I only have the starter box with the CIS and republic. I want the 501st box set for the republic, but I don't love that the separatists box set comes with all the same stuff.
Do you have any guides for building an army for new players? I just got into it and bought two core sets with my friend. I also have couple expansions (phase 2/republic specialist). I’m new to this kind of table top game though
Will the new 501st set change this video? Because i am thinking on buying it as my first set. I have a half imperial starter so i have rulers and 1 set of dice. But is the next best buy if u start there?
So I’m confused, you say two core units, how many minis make a unit? I feel like I don’t have enough clones for two units. 5X p1 clones 1X z6 p1 clone 1X dc15(?) p1 clone 1X BARC with the two clones that go on that. Should I have more than that?!
this is awesome as aim just getting into this game right now. Also I fucking love the pricing of these minatures. I'm used to GW warhammer prices and these are amazing
I would like to start a clone army but kind of bothers mix phase 1 and 2 clones in the same army/colors 😢 do I get the same units for 1 and 2 phase armour?
This game seems like a lot of fun I really want to get into it. However, I am terrible with miniatures since I am nearly blind and don’t have the manual dexterity/skills to complete them. I was wondering if doing it with LEGO and just buying the carts and rules and stuff would work? Since LEGO is very modular, and I’m already into that hobby and that would eliminate the problem of building and painting the miniatures for me Any thoughts?
thanks man. I’ve looked a bit into it. I think it’s gonna work. I’m really hyped for this actually. @@thecoop6160 thanks man. I’ve looked a bit into it. I think it’s gonna work. I’m really hyped for this actually.
You can also use B1 parts as basing material for your clones

having mainly bought imperial forces so far, this has been quite helpful. was considering GAR forces next, as droids look hard to assemble
This video was a big help! Just got in to Legion over Christmas. For the Republic!
Received the clone wars starter set for Christmas and am loving the game so far, your content has been super helpful
Getting these recommended to me after how much I've been getting back into Star Wars Legion recently. I'm surprised you're still doing these, a surprise, but a welcome one to be sure!
Thanks I really didn't know where to go after the core set with so many options
Just getting into legion in 2022 mainly for painting miniatures but the game seems interesting enough to look into it and this video helped alot
One of my new favorites, getting into this has been easy with these videos
Glad to see some help getting started!
Thank you very much for these kind of "what to buy" videos!
Thank you very much for this video. very striaght forward and informative. First time player and excited to get into another table top game!
my local store is doing a massive bundle for each faction for the 4th of may
awesome man! just got into the game and this was a help!
I was so excited when I got my kit that I immediately got rex who just so happens to be one of the best commanders!
I am split between buying this or Star Wars Rebellion... I'll probably get both 😅
Good luck everyone on the giveaway!
I know this is a little different, but any advice for a republic armada player? Just starting.
Awesome video, and good luck everyone on the lightsaber giveaway
just started the game , this is my faction i started with.
Really love the insight! Just getting into the game and really needed the advice! 😅
They should add a new type of unit that brings in AT-TEs, AT-ATs, AAC-1s, and the Separatist Super Tank to the game.
So, so, so glad I grabbed my core sets last year, got them on sale for $70 each, $140, and that’s only $20 more than what a single one costs now.
Thank you for this video!!
Awesome video man keep it up
Great video. I've been collecting clones and Droids. Definitely looking to expand both armies, but still have alot of painting to get through first
Man I keep watching legion videos. I really need to play it but there isn’t a community in my area yet.
I'm just starting out, have 2 core boxes on the way. Where would I find the most up to date rules? All the talk of changes, updates and nerfs is a bit worrying.
Lightsaber! From a more civilized age....
Although I'm firmly Imperial, I am tempted to give the Republic a try.
nice vid for newcomers to the game thanks for the information
Love the content as well as the other videos
Wookiee I think could be alittle higher on the list but I’m liking the reasoning behind the order of what to buy first
now..if i may ask do you know when you will release the updated empire guide?
It came out about a week ago.

Such a backhanded complement....
"Full Metal Tokens" sounds like an war movie or a gritty animae.
You should do a video on buying Legion terrain when on a budget. I could really use a video like that.
Hi
Awesome content love what you do
Pretty cool videos. Looking to maybe jump into Legion at some point.
Love clones and rogers!
Thanks you for this video
Never played legion, but just now getting into x wing decently. Might get into this in the future
I think we definitely need either an updated or a second upgrade card pack, for all the new cards that are mostly locked in clone wars expansions
Hopefully AMG will give us a downed LAAT, I think it would be such a cool terrain piece.
Have you watched zorpazorp legion series? They 3D printed a LAAT for terrain.

“The rule of cool..” “…the fun factor…” this is why we love you Crabbok, even when the content is not armada. (J/k, we like all your content!)
Looking to start legion after having such a good time with Armada this video was a great help cheers!
I have often wondered if they should make Rex an Operative instead of a commander. I'd still use hime either way.

Now we just need the one for cis. Ended up getting 3 core sets lol the extra dice are needed it's a pain with only one set 😅
Love the clone models really need to get them finished
Do separatists pls
ARC troopers needs a buff of 2 health each one or improve their dice pools black and withe with dc15a and dc17 2 black

You could consider swapping her miniature out for someone else that could be more thematic - like some support clone? Maybe a Bad Batch member? Tech?
