- Devin got a DEDICATED SWIMBAIT SETUP 🔥
We went to Bass Pro Shops in Grapevine Texas to invest once again, back into the channel, after losing a GIANT on our regular gear throwing large baits!
We currently have one large Swimbait setup which is the Shimano TranX 400 with power handle, but wanted something a little smaller, yet powerful enough to crank those big fish in, and settled on what we could find locally which was the 200HG model, vs. the popular 300 spool size many recommend to fit her grip on the reel yet have a large enough spool to make LONG casts with heavy line. We purchased Seaguar AbrazX 20lb Fluorocarbon fishing line for it, and took it out to a popular lake in Fort Worth, marine creek, with a large lake record to break it in.

2 hours ago, i just bought 1 Tranx 200hg, and a Tranx 400. Hope They Will work. I've been Using Daiwa lunas and Calcutta TE reels for 11-12 years, so time to test low profile reels. Congrats to your new set up

Wes, dude, you were in the store with every opportunity to pick up a new handle for your TranX 400 and you failed!!! Lol. I just can't wrap my head around that single handle. For my sanity, might be a bit late, but for my sanity send me an address I can send you a handle. If you are really invested in that handle and love it, I'll understand, but man it just don't look right! Anyhow, you guys are nailing it on the posts. I don’t really know if this is weird or not, but I use the TranX 200 with the 7’6 Medium Heavy Mojo Bass for cranking so I can really bomb a trap. 🤷♂️
I'm here supporting my homie Westin and his wife. Westin that 200 is gonna be just fine with any swim bait. I would much rather the 200 for what I fish. You will love the abrazex but if that don't work go good sunline. Sunline is amazing. I only really use fluoro. I couldn't get on with the mojo bass but the premier was great. I know they are the same rated blank but there was just something about the mojo that made them no where near as sensitive.
Yeah I hear ya! I’m sure for our use the sensitivity will be fine. We’ve been angling the rod inline with the line on the swimbaits so it seems to be a little different. Probly beats our second hand $40 fate black Swimbait rod 🙌🏼😂

You should switch to braid to flourocarbon, you don’t have to worry about break offs and you can use heavier line and still have a thin diameter

I've got the same setup but with a Lew's 300 super duty reel. And be careful with treble hook swimbaits. If you don't horse them in you'll lose alot of fish. But with single hooks it is killer. Mono had been best thing for me with that rod. Even in grass it has the backbone to get them out

Just got that same reel but I paired it on a 7' heavy st. Croix premier and spooled the reel with some 50lb power pro braid.

Do you have issues with the power handle moving causing the spool to stop mid cast and breaking off lures? Heard that the power handle can be too heavy.

Finally you hit the lake Ive been hoping you would hit. January 2019 a 14 lb bass was caught there on a jerk bait by the dam opposite of the drain pipe. PS that's a spinnerbait lake this time of year.
