Its a great trick up until the tab nears the half way point (about 45 degrees) where it can now easily push the latch back into the door and now you can just push the door in to open it without turning the knob. If its a locking door, it will no longer work because the handle is the part that locks, not the latch. I've seen some doors do this at the plate set to less than 45 degrees though. So whenever you are using this trick, push on the door somewhat firm to see if it opens without the knob turning. If this happens the easy method is to install a few pieces of stick on felt or clear rubber stick on pads to the inside of the trim jamb that stopps the door. Another place to put them is on the inside of the door frame where the hinges are attached. This will create some back resistance on the door from slapping the jamb trim and hold the latch against the latch plate. Dont stack them too mich though because doing so can bend the hinges and force the door out of alignment with the door frame.
