As a kid in the 80s, I used to go here almost every weekend with my Big Sister who lived in North Wales at the time. My favorite store there was a little corner hobby shop named "One-Stop Hobbies". It was, I believe, on the first floor in a corner by the JC Pennys just by the base of the escalators which I think were just stairs at the time. Anyone else remember that shop? Anyway, just wanted to thank you for that walk down memory lane, haven't been here since I was little! God Bless!
If you were standing with Penney's at your back, would it be on your left? The little corner store? I ask because we always speculate about that store since we have been going. It has a cool angled mirror look that catches the eye. i.imgur.com/J3i0bRM.png
This is a good one too. Not as busy as it used to be. Always a nice one to visit. Seeing these malls so sparse feels like the 20th century is further and further behind us. Malls used to be so crowded.
Hey! I go to this mall all the time! It’s kinda of in a declining state but this is still my favorite mall! I’ve gone there since I was a baby. A lot of my friends and family think it is going to close based on stores leaving the mall. I hope not :( Thanks for the great video!
I wanted to see what that abandoned store with the white front by Express on the second level was since it looked like an Apple store. It was Uniqlo. Apparently, they're still expanding, but flopped at this mall. Interesting.
I’d be really curious to know if the Wegman’s has brought any additional traffic to the mall? Sears leaving should be no big surprise. Please somebody just shut what’s remaining down and call it a day. Getting back to the mall it looks pretty good but for the fact the roof may be starting to leak. A Simon mall with splashes of colour is always welcome. Perhaps Boscov’s could be convinced to return.
I don't know, it really doesn't seem like grocery stores actually bring any indoor foot traffic. See: The Country Club Plaza in Sacramento. It DID somewhat work with the Christown Spectrum Mall in Arizona, because their Costco opens up into the mall and their snack center is serving as the defacto food court.
jeremyud Thanks for the comments. I checked out Christian Spectrum and the only grocery stores I could find were Siper Target and Walmart. Also this shopping center seems to have lower level stores. Regarding Country Club I couldn’t find anything. Am I missing something? Let me know? Also happy holidays.
jeremyud I tend to agree regarding Costco. By the time customers leave their store they won’t have much money to spend as everyone always over spends at Costco.
I noticed the water stained ceiling tiles over Piercing Pagoda. Having worked for Simon, I know that if they unless it’s one of their 20 or so “luxury centers”, they would be deferring maintenance due to the vacancies, especially if Sears is leaving. Sears sucks, but losing their CAM contribution is probably blowing a huge hole in the mall’s budget.
I'm dying to see a current, high-def walkthrough of Dover Mall in Dover, DE. It's owned by Simon, hovering around the low 80's in store counts when it can hold 100, their Sears left and they haven't filled it.
Bad placement of the holiday garland over the way finding signage. I’m surprised Wegman’s didn’t complain to mall management that their sign was covered and “people can’t find us”, which was a BS excuse tenants used all the time when their sales sucked.

What a difference 4 years makes. Now hardly and food court restaurants and a lot of stores left. I still miss sears.

Doesn't look to busy for being 2 weeks before Christmas.

Wegmans doesn't have mall access.
Very strange a mall this size has no movie theater.
There is a real big landmark AMC just down the road from the mall.
I'm more surprised by the lack of dedicated mall food court.
Concord Mall (Wilmington, DE) had a small movie theater for over 20 years but it closed when the very big Regal opened up.
@@jeremyud the food court was in the very beginning of the video.
