“They got Alex” oh man i forgot about that
When I chose to side with Reed in Cyberpunk 2077 Phantom Liberty. I was sadly thinking the same thing.
Haven't finished the video yet but I remember that one mission where that woman's bad acting was so profound.
Also, something about Russians but they didn't actually say Russians. Been a while
@@SantoValentino i Divsion 2 the NPCs curse ypu out so much. “Kill that asshole”
I always thought that was an homage to The killed Kenny from South Park.
Same and I don’t know how. It made me laugh so much.
Shoutout to the original composer of The Division, Ola Strandh. He completely rocked the game's soundtracks.
Ola has stayed on through current-day, his latest work on Descent is on Spotify!
I want a hardcore and dark soundtrack for the 3rd division
Ubisoft literally needs to take everything in TD1 and amplify it triple time
Ola Strandh is a guy.

Division 3 better be in a snowy place again. That’s one of the main reason that I got hooked on division 1.
I have a feeling it could be in London, so it'll be more rainy
@Astronika no it'll probably be california or texas they already did a snowy new york they'll probably aim for rain and division agents probably aren't in the uk unless it's set in the perspective of a rogue agent which would be cool
I want it a full year from the first game. That way you get the best of both worlds. greenery all over the place, but also snowing, so you can have a street full over trees like a forest, but then it could be a _snowy forest._ Set it in a time wear snow is infrequent, like october. SO some days there is no snow and it's sunny (or cloudy) with greenery all over the place. Then some days its just a whiteout snow blizzard. Engine tech has progressed enough to allow dynamic snow build up (check Days Gone, it does this)
Y’all got to be more open, a game in Miami, Los Angeles, or even outside the country would be cool, don’t care bout the weather 😂
I loved the cold setting, but I feel like having seasonal changes would be nice
This was incredible … such a nostalgic trip and highlighted the depth of this incredible universe.
I'm beyond glad people seem satisfied with it 😄 Thank you for the extremely kind words!
This lore is criminally underrated. Thank you.
I feel like its because most people didn't actually listen to the Echos and Audio logs when they picked them up, or didn't go to the menu, to listen to all of them in order. Also didn't buy New York Collapse. I never forget the feeling of excitement I got when I saw my first echo with April in it, and she was quoting her notes from the physical book. Very satisfying
Bro this was an AWESOME reminder of just how deep the lore and secrets of this game franchise actually goes! Great work! Enjoyed it ALOT!
🙏 Thank you!!
That little rooftop during the beta was the most fun I ever had in this game
I remember people flying like 5 stories over your head.
My absolute favorite aspect of the Division was the tie in of April Kelleher, and her novel/survival guide, and being able to follow the book in the actual game. That brought the game to a whole new experience for me. This video was super nostalgic, love it!
It was an amazing piece of immersion, no question! Thank you!
That part of the video blew my mind, I didn't know about any of that. Her story sounds like sth they could turn into a netflix series (like a mystery thriller) to expand the IP.
Same! I read the book before the game, in anticipation
36:16 A 666 emote to the owl statue 'Moloch' signifying the bohemian grove satanic rituals performed by the elite. I love that the designers at Massive are willing to add stuff like this to the game.
What a tribute to a beloved franchise ❤!
I'm so glad you think so! Thank you!!
@@RogueGoldthis is arguably your best work on the division franchise. It really helps having dedicated players such as yourself. Tell all of these interesting tidbits about what I think is the single best IP in video game history. This really goes to show the depth of the storyline, all the characters, and the lore. This also details the heart and dedication of all the different Ubisoft studios and their affiliates that have worked on the division franchise with all the detailed worlds they have created over the past decade. Bravo sir, bravo!
I honestly just want to be a Hunter at this point lol. They have a deeper backstory that at this point, I'd like to be part of. Plus I LOVE their bulky armor. Makes them look like they have some size to them lol
That and all their collected trophies from dead Agents. Whoever had the idea for them to have several of the Argent watches on them was inspired.
The first time I heard "cascading trauma" from ISAAC when they execute you sent a shiver down my spine.
I'd rather just go rogue and join up with the Black Tusk, they've got the True Sons and they answer to POTUS, we answer currently to nobody, logically speaking, they're the good guys and we're the bad guys
They’re not really that deep the more you think about it. They’re the black ops of The Division, as Cal put it: “A failsafe to a failsafe.” That doesn’t make them all that deep, we are all under their watch. I am still wondering why that Hunter killed Edwards though and what his involvement was to be targeted, then there was the fact we were subdued and not slaughtered.
Would have to be a prequel
One of if not THE best Division deep dive videos I've seen, watched from start to finish brilliant job.
👊👊 Thank you so much, makes the hard work it took to put it together all worth it!
“They got Alex” is such a fucking iconic for D1
This is by far one of the most interesting videos on the development of the Division game ever. Kudos for putting this together.
🙏 Thank you for watching!
The first trailer for Div1 still gives chills.
The day the Midas dropped I was in the DZ and excitedly said out loud to my squad member "I GOT IT! I GOT THE MIDAS!!!"
Unfortunately there were two other agents nearby that started following us. It took a good 20-30mins of running, hiding, shooting off false flares, running to different extraction points, using enimes as distractions before I safely made it out the DZ with the Midas. I took a pic of it and used it as my FB profile 😂🤣😂 This was the night I fell in love with D1 DZ. Excellent video, thanks for the trip down memory lane.
Now THAT'S one of those stories you never forget. Thank you for sharing, and I'm so glad you enjoyed the video!
Love your videos. It's great to see a channel talking about The Division that isn't just build videos.
🙏 Thank you!! I try to keep coming up with original stuff to do 😄
I think what division 3 needs is an emotional amazing story
I was going through some rough stuff in my life when I was addicted to this game.
I love the division with a passion and is my personal classic. Thanks for making this video!
🙏 Thank you for sharing that and for the kind words, much appreciated!
Even being a fan from the beginning, I was glad to learn a couple things from this video. Also glad to hear NGN helped you with this video as I also love his in depth story videos. So this one was also a pleasure to sit through. Awesome work.
🙏 Thank you!!
Rogue you always do a great job keeping the story and lore alive. Great trip down memory lane. Thanks
👊👊 Thank you!
Just started playing The Division 2 for the first time at the start of the week and I'm having a blast
It's a really fun game and this iceberg shows me how much history there is and how much i missed throughout the years!
Looking forward to the future
Love hearing that! Welcome to The Division and I hope you continue to enjoy!
Epic, magic storytelling, it's people like you that make this community amazing
That's truly heartwarming to hear, thank you! 🙏
I’ve been playing for a VERY long time, but learned a bunch of new stuff today. This was an EXTREMELY informative video. Much appreciated!
🙏 So glad you liked it! Thank you!
Whoever hasn’t played Survival yet, is missing out. Big time! Especially during the holidays.. ❄️ 🎄 🎅
One of my favorite memories was playing that for the first time during Christmas break. Game had a next level cozy atmosphere
I still am pulled back so much it’s just great mode
Thanks roguegold the division franchise has made such an impact on me during a very difficult time in my life. Keep up the amazing content 😃
👊 Love to hear that. Thank you!
Great video. For various reasons I haven't been able to play D2 since August '22, and I really miss it. I miss the vibe, the music, my agent, everything. It's the game I put the most time and passion into. Videos like this remind me of how great this franchise is and how deep the rabbit hole goes. It's unlikely I will ever know the whole story, or probably ever play again, so content like this allows me to somehow stay connected, enjoying it vicariously through others' research and analysis. Your channel and NGN's are the best I have found. Please continue to make Division videos, so I can stay in the loop. Thank you so much!!
❤️ I'm sorry that you won't be able to immerse yourself in the world again. But thank you so much for the kind words, and it's incredibly gratifying knowing the impact these videos can have. The vids will keep coming, and I hope to see you out there some day Agent!
Thank you for the reply. It means a lot to me. Seriously, when I found the soundtrack for the D2 on You Tube, and listened to it recently for the first time since I last played, it brought tears to my eyes. The game, despite its flaws, is absolutely incredible@@RogueGold
Man, hearing that alex quote really brought back the memories.
This video just brought back so many amazing gaming moments! thank you so much
So happy to hear it! Thank you for watching 🙌
One thing playing the new Avatar game reminded me of was how great it is just to run around ME's worlds.
Running around Pandora is beautiful and fun and I got EXACTLY the same kick as I did going around New York in the snow and fog.
I spent hours just walking through lower Manhattan, with the ambient sound and atmosphere.
This was such an incredible video. Dint forget that amazon prime has had a 30min division intro since 2016.
That's a great add for a Part 2 indeed! Glad you enjoyed it, thank you!
Amazing video, love your passion. So ready for Division 3. Not just the world and exploring every corner and building but the story is so intriguing.
Wonder where it'll be set? Atlanta, LA Chicago?
THIS makes me want to start over! Very well done. Thank you!
👊👊 Thank you!!
Amazing to watch as a D1 player from launch and still playing D2. Great job on compiling this into one video!
🙏 Thanks so much!
is D2 still alive? this video is giving me a itch to play again but i would have to restart on pc
I used to be a division agent until "They got Alex."
Love this, such a great The Division lore video. So well done.
🙏 I appreciate that beyond words!
Fantastic video!
There's so many things i didn't know about until now,so thank you.
This year you've been putting out so many amazing videos that you quickly became one of my favorite UA-camrs. Keep up the good work!
I greatly appreciate that man, thank you for joining on and hanging around! 👊
The coolest fucking video Rogue. Bravo dude. We as a community are very fortunate to have a creator like you. Keep kicking ass bro 🫡
Words can't express my appreciation for you saying that, thank you!! 🙌
Ive been looking for a division iceberg video for ages! Thank you!
👊 Hope you enjoy!!
Just made me want to play through Divison all over again. Great video
Mission accomplished :)
Seeing everyone standing in line again brought me back lol
Its actually crazy that a game is such a big part of our lives.
an entire hour of lore from rogue gold, yes please
😎😎
@@RogueGold another one for a ramos reference is theres an achievement called negative ramos you get for shocking a medic after shooting their defibrillator in div 2
This was huge. Huge all in all. To continue.... huge thank you and thanks to NGN. I think we have still secrets to find (division 2). And what's been huge in the following years including division 3.
So once again. Huge thanks mate
👊 Thank you for watching!
I will always claim this , The Division is the most underapriciated hidden gem franchise that has ever existed. Its such a shame the game is overshadowed by Destiny 2 which at this point many claim is much worse and loosing players, I hope once heartland or even Division 3 releses it becomes mainstream
i remember finding out a classmate of mine in 5th or 6th grade played the division and always asking how he was progressing compared to me. being 19 now and hearing "THEY GOT ALEX" again was fun.
Love that so much!
Would be nice if the unsolved puzzles ever get solved at some point
As an Agent, I didn't expect to see this on my recommended
Thanks for the deep dive! My favorite is @29:05, ISAC/Alexa Crossover. That real world interaction was pretty cool!
Hell yeah! 👊
im guessing that feature is not available? i tried it but didnt work. thats sad
@AllBerserk OH? I tried it yesterday with my Alexa Echo Auto and got the message.
@@NealWilliams wait lemme try with that
@@NealWilliams finally worked, i was mistaken with activate the division network instead of open the div network (brought me into a math division question), had to ask alexa whats the phrase lol
This was a fantastic video! Thank you for making it. Makes me love the game even more. As always keep up the content!
🙏 Thank you for the kind words, beyond appreciated!
Brilliant as ever RG. Thank you so much for, once again, sparking some amazing memories and reminding me that just as I think I've uncovered everything I thought I could about this amazing franchise, there is always more to learn! Wishing Division Agents everywhere a Happy New Year.
🙏 Thank you for the kind words! So glad you enjoyed it!
ALL THESE YEARS and i finally know how to get the treasure map patch in division 1. thank you. that coms that played is terrifying.
An incredibly well thought out, well put together, and entertaining video! Thank you, RG 👊❤
👊👊 Thank you so much!
Well worth the wait!! Thanks for the time it took putting this together and happy new year agents!!
🙏 Thank you for checking it out! Happy New Years!
Thank you, this video brings back memories that were not forgotten but definitely missed.
Amazing video. I love the Division. I just enjoy playing it and seeing it as a real world scenario. It reminds me of some of the things I saw, heard and experienced while in the Air Force.
This was a great watch, well done.
Thank you so much 🙏🙏
Amazing video, got chills all throughout the duration of it! Great great job !
Yay! Thank you for watching!
Incredible video man! I really enjoyed the deep dive and learning some new things about the franchise. I feel proud (or extra nerdy) that I knew a couple of the things in the darkness section!
Haha good stuff 🙌
Wow!!
I expected a lot from this video.. But it turned out much better than I anticipated.
Congratulation for the effort, brother!
Keep doing awesome content. ❤
🙏 Thank you my friend, your presence in this community is beyond valued!
I loved the "they got Alex" ran into a random boss in Div 2 with a "they got Alex" in his name a couple of years ago.
Hell yeah!
The bullet king graffiti is my favourite part of his legacy.
It was like a little nod from the devs, a way to say "we see you and we're sorry were doing this"
It cements in my mind, they would've just left the exploit as is, and let players have fun had higher ups not forced their hand
And similarly, cements the downfall of ubisofts "player enjoyment first" reputation
Oh man, thank you for doing this. There was a bunch I didnt know about here and I really enjoyed it
🙏 So glad to hear that, thank you!
Awesome video. So much of the Div 1 stuff brought back great memories.
Regarding secrets, two of the things I most want to see explored further are the Underground faction (the silent guys living in the sewers with the chainsaw heavy), and the Morovian Society. I think the Morovian Society is a reference to the real-life Bohemian Grove, and Moloch worship. If you've never looked into it, it's extremely dark. You've been warned.
Got to the bit about the riker backpack and my brain went "I'm hit! Mini me... Open fire!" 😂😂😂😂
It's great and shocking to be reminded of these mysteries and curiosities in The Division at the same time, it's chilling. I also remembered a very interesting piece of information about The Division 1. As some of us know, The Division 1 was literally written by the Goat of the entire brand. Yes, it's writer Tom Clancy who left us with some of the best action-packed and futuristics Stealth video games in the world. The Division 1 was his last written work. Without Tom Clancy, there would never have been such games as :
The Commanders series
EndWar Series
H.A.W.X Series
Ghost Recon Series
Splinter Cell Series
The Division Series etc.
And sadly, without Tom Clancy, we'll never get the New York vibe that we get in The Division 1. And this is the unrivaled and most entertaining online game ever created...
Tom clancy never wrote anything for the division, this is pretty common knowledge. He had nothing to do with it besides it being branded with his name.
@@regulator18E
The Division: Broken Dawn
The Division: Recruited
The Division: Compromised
For The Division, the U.S. government's Dark Winter scenario served as a response to a biological attack that Tom Clancy was introduced to long ago..
Ubisoft will never reveal the author of the Division. Because Tom Clancy died that same year
@@Colonel_ash bruh I think the conspiracy storyline from TD2 is starting to bleed into your perception of reality. Lmao yea Ubi has some agenda to obfuscate what Clancy did or didn't write. Surree 😆
@@regulator18E
Tom Clancy cooperated with the Special Forces. He knew too much for a mortal. He may have started writing the script for The Division, but he died in 2013 and the rest was probably figured out by the Ubisoft development team. Tom Clancy couldn't even participate in TD2. That's why I say that The Division 1 is inspired by the motifs of his last work, which for some reason could not be published...
Nicely done RogueGold. It was very informative and worth the time spent.
👊 So happy to hear that thank you!
As an aging gamer, Div1Beta, thanks for putting all of this together.
Can't wait for Div3
Let's get to work Agent.
👊👊 Hell yeah, thank you!
AMAZING vid. gave me nostalgia for a game ive never played.
well done my guy, well done.
🙏 Thank you!! That's high praise 😄
Great video! Ty for all ur hardwork u put into it!
Legendary production. Grabbing my popcorn
Oh my... since first division game, have been huge fan of the series and really waiting new game. This really was nostagic trip back to New York. Thank you RG
🫡 Thank you for watching!
Thanks so much for this amazing trip down memory lane, God i miss TD1 days, very well made and informative video.
🙏 I appreciate that greatly!
"They got Alex!"
Damn i forgot that line and it brought me back. There was one point me and my buddeis did a massive darkzone session with us a in a party and everyone was alex.
Excellent job on this. Well done. I watched it all the way through and loved all of the lore. Thank you for doing this.
🙏 So glad to hear it! Thank you!
That’s mad insane to think that we would have gotten Div2 in New Orleans.
BUT THAT MAKES ME THINK. How we are getting the subplot of what’s happening in New Orleans through the books and in Div2. Imagine an alternate universe where we got the NO plot in game and DC was the subplot we were getting. Absolutely insane, I love this franchise
Absolutely worth the wait! Fantastic job mate!!
🙏🙏 Thank you dude!
The one thing that's crazy is Kelso has always had the double watches, and apparently the True Sons were working with the Sewer People.
Oh man, that made my day.
I love this franchise!
Good old days on the Division 1.
🙏 Thank you for watching!
You always make the most epic videos! Thanks again Rogue!
🙏 Thank you so much!
Credit to the Christmas song they made for the division 1 trailer that isn’t actually a real Christmas song. It can be heard in the division 2’s warlords of New York expansion on one of the control points which is pretty cool
I remember doing thst at my cousins with his Alex and he freaked out for a second because he had no idea what was going on. It was awesome
@RogueGold great video man i really enjoyed that, brings back lots of awesome memories and a few new pieces of lore etc, and heres me thinking i knew everything about the Division universe 😅
🙏 So glad you liked it, thank you!!
Gonna watch this video in 10 years for memories 🥲
This video was awesome!
👊 Thank you!!
Nicely put together, thanks.
I knew about half or so of this! lol. The rest I either didn't know or completely forgot about. Thank you for making this! It was fun to be reminded of certain things from TD1 and the deep dive of oddities is fun! You never know what obscure thing you find might float to the surface. Thanks Rogue Gold!
I deeply respect the water analogies 😄 keeping on-theme. So glad you enjoyed man, thanks for watching!
great work. this was a nice reminder of just how deep the lore and secrets of this game is.
Thank you. That must have taken an incredible amount of work. It was amazing.
It did, but completely worth it! Thank you! 🙏
Thank you for this “update”
Lots of things I didn’t know and forgot!
As a new player to the division and its lore i think this entire ice berg video is dope asf and i hope its lore get expanded upon awsome work 👍
🙏 So glad you liked it, thank you!!
A note on the Paladins, remember that there’s a PMC equivalent of Echelon in Splinter Cell called Paladin 9. Probably has nothing to do with it, but it’s a nice cross reference.
My God. Such an amazing compilation dude. Salute.
🙏 Thank you so much!
You did a great job man; a lot of it went straight over my head since I wasn't there in Div1's heyday, but it shows you've done your research 🙃
👊👊
A little extra tidbit about Bullet King. On that specific location irl, people have been known to leave flowers and backpacks on the corners for Bullet King and there's a Google POI at that street the last time I checked.
Someone told me about this after I posted, and I'm devastated I wasn't aware beforehand to put it in the video 😭
This video was amazing, dude. The way you presented the information in the list kept my ADHD ass on LOCK. I loved listening to this dude. Amazing job to you and NGN for both compiling all this information but also presenting it in an engaging way.
🙏 Thank you so much! And that's a high compliment, I appreciate it 😄
I really hope you do another one of these, but for the Division 2. The amount of lore in this universe is insane, but its one of many reasons why ive been playing since the beginning of the franchise.
There's a good chunk of Div 2-specific pieces in here!
Sick af! Extremely well done 👏
Thank you my friend! 👊
Love this... Am always looking forward too your videos 😊😊
Very kind of you to say, thank you!!
Need to watch this when I get home 🔥
👊🔥
@@RogueGold yeah some of "The Darkness" stuff I wasn't aware of, that's really nice to know ! One thing you forgot to mention is how the Hunters were waaaayyy harder to beat when they first released haha they had to nerf the Hunters after a couple of updates later. I actually preferred the first version of the Hunters, they were more challenging, Nostalgia hit me after watching this. Thank you for this amazing video!
