I agree with the cop. It's pretty useless. You can go fast but there are speedlimits. It cant haul much, it cant tow, few people can fit in it, insurance is outlandish, they cost a ton to fix, it's hard to find people to work on them, etc. It is a status symbol and some people dont care about that aspect.

My car accident happened a mere 3 days after hospital discharge after having a major abdominal surgery. Another driver ran the red light and got the left front corner. I just had a small bump on my head from hitting the closed side window. The car was totaled per the insurance company. An exam at the ER showed no damage to my head. I do feel for you, Dave, I know full well how so very crushing emotionally an incident like this can be.
Red car: they’ll fix it up in a few weeks

Hey bud, I’m a Police Officer and I own a Gen 2 R8 V10 plus. This officer is a bad example, but there are many of us who are genuinely positive and want to see people succeed in life, whether it’s buying dream cars, houses or just making a living and getting by.
This officers comments and attitude is the only thing that is piss poor.
Try being a cop and rolling into the division in an R8, I’ve come to learn that mentalities like this is more prevelant than I thought. So what’s my solution? Grind harder and hit them with the Yellow Huracan I’m getting in two weeks.

I mean it looks like he gave him $100. When I had to get my car towed, it was $160 for only about 10 miles. Granted, we don’t know if he is paying an extra fee off camera. The hour and a half drive probably would total about $300
i'm not the biggest tipper but sometimes there's a voice in my head that says i need to tip. one time i helped a trucker unload tons of trees when i worked at Lowes. it was just me and him and like 300 trees. he didn't know english too good and asked for an "ay e em". i couldn't understand him but eventually he came back with some cash and tipped me 40 bucks.

Well the cop was asked his opinion by Damon, if you dont like someone's opinion then dont ask for it. That police officer probably makes more than 100k with overtime an his regular pay. Once youve been in a department more than 16yrs(large cities) youre a detective, Sgt, Lt, or above youre taking more than a 100k from regular salary. So yes that police officer could afford that car, some people and by some I mean most cars are not a passion they're only from point A to point B.
