The ending was perfect. Especially the part where Jinx and Ekko got married and raised Isha and ruled over Zaun together. Wouldn't change a thing. IMO!
Ekko was the MVP for everything! My man Ekko gave up the universe of his dreams so he could save everyone. Truly the GOAT. He certainly lived up to his title of "The Boy Savior."
Right I would understand why he would want to stay bc it’s such a nice universe. He did have to get back to his universe and help save everyone. If I was in his situation I would probably be at least a little tempted to stay. I probably would always feel guilty that I wasn’t back so it likely wouldn’t be my choice.
That universe wasn't his dream imo, but more of a dream of Vander and Silco. I don't think Ekko would stay in that universe knowing vi was dead because of him and because he had people counting on him in his universe.
Jinx broke the cycle here. The only way to resolve the dilemma of Vi choosing between her and Cait and the conflict between Zaun and Piltover was to leave just like Silco said. And in ending her father's torment one last time, she gave Vi the life she deserved.
Yeah good that she somehow survived and i hope she met up with ekko afterwards to start their romance. In Act 1 he said he gave up on her and the Jinx in the "good" future told Ekko that he isnt the person to ever give up on anybody which resulted in Ekko saving her from blowing her up Baldurs Gate style ( choose wrong dialog- blow up- restart)
i feel like its powder talking to jinkz while using silco as her avatar so she could make her realise that in order to break the cycle of killing the each other is to walk away from it
I think Vi feels guilty for Jinx’s death for the rest of her life with this ending. She already broke the cycle by coming back to defend Vi. She said she’s with her till the end.
Jinx is alive, we see a pink strick dashing away in the explosion n later cait is looking at blueprints showing there were airvents when jinx died then looks at a monkey toy jinx built. I think we will see a story where cait looks for jinx
3:30 - From the game's lore we can somewhat deduce that "the arcane" isn't divine in itself nor does it try to communicate, its more about trying to corrupt or manipulate the magic towards its goal. The general visuals of "arcane" in the show are identical to how "the void" in the lore is portrayed - spheres with large gaps, geometrical and caleidoscopical shapes, colour purple. Most likely they are the exact same thing, but writers didn't want to bring up a new and unknown threat out of nowhere in the middle of the show(which also lorewise shouldn't be know to the characters themselves), so they stuck with the name "arcane" that was used so far. In the established lore "The void" is a power from beyond reality, kindof a primoridal soup from which all of the universe took shape and which if enraged/awakened tries to consume, deconstruct and control. Void in general acts by corrupting reality and misshaping it to spread itself further - it creates a monsterous hivemind and absorbs everything into it. There were places in the past where void was released and it tried to run wild, we know that Piltover is build atop ruins of such a place. It's likely that Shimmer is somehow related to the void - the creatures from which Singed made it look a lot like they are corrupted by it, and Viktor, by coughing blood that was infused with Shimmer, caused void to gain access to powerful magic of the Hexcrystals (most likely Targonian magic from the celestial visuals), by which it corrupted the Hexcore and awoken the void in the underground of the undercity, which then created "the anomaly" at the hexgates.
Vi accepting Vander and the girls hugging him messed me up. The little kid sacrificing herself messed me up. The entire final sacrifice messed me up. Oh not to mention the Vander and Silco flashback with the girls' mother.
Episode 7 messed up. I can relate. A few bad events in life lead me down a cascade of tragedies. Sometimes I like to mentally go back and imagine life through "what if's." Watch ekko and especially powder so happy and dancing took me back... a suggestion for the youth. Enjoy the ages 17-23 ish. The last bit of magic in life is lost after that.
"This world is a wasteland, please let me go", in the beginning it’s a song about suicide, but with the end HEAVILY implying that Jinx survived and escaped, it’s about how she’s done with everything in Zaun and Piltover and just wants to leave to start a new life.
I also think they took inspiration from the movie Annihilation to design the post apocalyptic Viktor-Victory world. It was, to me, by far the most unsettling movie I’ve seen and a lot of the post-apocalypse Piltower reminded me of the world within the Shimmer as shown in Annihilation sooo much. The dead Jayce had a lot of similarities to the corpse of one of the first group soldiers that turned into a hauntingly beautiful „fungus painting“. Beautifully brutal. Even Viktor’s robotic puppets reminded me sooo much of the alien in the movie itself (especially the first one that came for Mel and Jayce in the Councellor‘s Room). The movie was all about the people entering the Shimmer being consumed by their mental trauma and duality. It feels to me like the writers (especially Amanda, loving more women-oriented media) might have had that in mind. I loved it!
I thought season 1 was a masterpiece, fundamentally. Season 2 was super detailed and in depth. It was good. But i still had a bigger sense of satisfaction at the end of season 1.
That moment was so good and funny to an extent. I do wonder if she was a spy from the start or if Ambessa made a deal with her and she took it to try to guarantee that she would live
I don’t buy what they did with Maddie. I hate these last-minute character changes. It was laziness on the writer’s part to resolve a subplot that shouldn’t even have been there.

couldn't help but notice the parallels between odin in the picture you used and caitlin in the apocalyptic battle as she gives up an eye and fights with a similar spear. they also have the two family dogs (don't seem to be current but can be found in the portrait) who look similar. not sure if there is any greater meaning to that or maybe just influential but it is pretty neat. nice video that was a super interesting breakdown.

It should've been Sky instead of Jayce who made Viktor stop his endeavour in the end of s2. It would've parallelled perfectly to how she died trying to pull him away from the hex core in S1, resulting in him stopping his experiments altogether. It was tragic how she disappeared into the hex core trying to save him, it would've been heartfelt and beautiful for her to save him successfully and the both of them to disappear together. Viktor ignored her in the beginning, but now directly faces and fully embraces her in the end, the person who admired and adored him the most for who he was, despite his disability. It was sad how they didn't let her accomplish anything except keeping Viktor company, then just vanishing. Jayce should've stayed in Piltover to rectify the damage he caused with his invention. He'd be forced to finally adhere to needs of his people, and address the inequities of the people from the Undercity, as the story has constantly been hinting that he needs to do
When they touched the Arcane and went to different dimensions/alternative universes, I just wonder if Jayce's version was the one where he kills Viktor but doesn't succeeds in showing him the end of their world, or where he doesn't kill the Viktor and it will lead to this. Maybe if Jayce didn't shoot him, Viktor wouldn't evolve and they wouldn't have to save Piltover from him and killing themselves at the end. Maybe if Jayce showed him what will happen before acting, Viktor, still being mostly human and less arcane itself, would understood and stop it before it's too late. Personally I think Jayce fucked it up by shooting Viktor.
i think it was future Viktor who told him to kill him. based on future Viktor's words, he saw all possible outcomes and it all led to the same disaster except the universe where hextech was not invented. even if Jacye didn't "kill" him, Noxians would have destroyed the commune, or Singed messed it up, or Viktor lost his powers to support the hivemind. the notion about two sides of the coin when it comes to humanity still rings true. someone would have wanted the power Viktor had and they would have done anything to get it which would have led to Viktor coming to the same conclusion about humanity. and truthfully, killing Viktor would have worked if not for Singed so...
Hm, this was very interesting and could fully see what you mean, really makes me wonder what we could expect next from whatever else they’ll make. Especially with what you said about Jinx, which makes me more curious, If the White Airship at the end really was supposed to imply that Jinx survived and decided to leave Piltover & Zaun on her own little Journey, could she end up being a sort of recurring Character that we might check in on once in awhile during any of the next Titles/Projects, based on when they take place?
7/10 really needed more time to flesh out problems instead a lot is just resolved to give importance to the bigger threat and the time travel resolution makes a lot of the ending events unnecessary, Jayce just had to touch Viktor to show him the future and himself instead of killing Salo, shooting Viktor and start a war with a lot of casualties
Jinx is alive everything is accepting it that she is alive. The shimmer pink line, powder said that she will ride one of the ballons one day so she did. And what did slico say to her the only way to break the cycle is to just walk away. She also did that. Sooo yea i think we will see her in other league related animated films. Doesn't really matter. Doesn't Arcane have its own lore? Just because Jinx is the main face of the series doesn't mean she can't die. Look what happened to Walter White in Breaking Bad.
Maybe someone can expalin me why Jayce had to kill Victor in Jesus village in episode 6, since he already knew that he was the mag from his childhood, the point is that all this had to happen to get to this point? But why couldn't he show/tell him this before all the trouble and war happened? He didn't know that Ekko would have a time changing device that would save the day at the last minute. And why did Victor come to his sanity after being hit in the face in the finale? Or why, when Sky disappeared, did she say that he wouldn't miss her? I literally had a hard WTF moment because I was sure she would confess her feelings to him or something xD
Arcane has a history of show don’t tell when it comes to characters clashing together. Why didn’t Vi just explain to Jinx that Caitlyn wasn’t there in season 1 to haul her away? Why did we never see Ekko explain to Powder/Jinx about him being in an alternate timeline? Why didn’t Jayce just talk to Jesus Viktor before all hell broke loose? If talking to someone to make all the pain go away was that simple there would be no show…Also, Viktor made it pretty clear that there was no convincing him. Remember Jayce had just come back from a devastated world, belly full mutant lizards, and a brain all muddled up from just traveling through time/apace. He’s not in his right mind and we can see that from him tweaking out and hallucinating back in his original timeline. He’s driven by one ultimate goal, to stop the spread of magic and ultimately keep the promise he made to his partner, end all of Hextech. I don’t think Mage Viktor had meticulously planned everything out like a coordinated plan down to Ekko smashing him over the head to bring him back to his senses. We see that when we see the other versions of Mage Viktor give Child Jayce a different rune every time. Viktor knows that Jayce is the key to stopping him but it’s my theory that in every other universe Mage Viktor failed, it’s only in this timeline with the acceleration rune that Ekko could serve as the catalyst and Jayce the key. Ekko broke through physically to get to Viktor’s human self but Jayce was the only broke through emotionally. Sky represents all of Viktor’s guilt, remorse, and remaining worldly attachments before he ascends to godhood. For so long Viktor punishes himself feeling responsible for Sky’s death. He made Jayce promise to end Hextech after her death but in season 2 he is undoing everything and by embracing his invention he has to also let go of his remaining guilt for Sky, for humanity. I also think it’s funny how even after intertwining their consciousness together, Viktor KNOWING Sky had feelings for him, he still hit her with that “Ms. Young”. Even in the ultimate farewell, he couldn’t have the decency to call her by her first name, and Sky knew this. Knew that Viktor was completely out of reach, always had been.
For me it was Viktor using arcane magic before meeting Jayce. After rescuing Jayce, he gives him the rune that'll fuel the creation of Hextech so he can show him what that will lead to in the future. My question now, where did Viktor get those runes from because they aren't the ones Jayce created? If Jayce was still a child, how did he introduce Viktor to the arcane and why give him the problem that creates that future? Couldn't Viktor show himself the truth of what he'll become if he continues using magic? I know it's paradoxical but it honestly doesn't make sense to me

Liked the video but I do take issue with the idea that the Arcane in anyway was willing this situation into being for any sort of better future. If a person plucks a flower they could choose to make a flower crown or poison. That doesn’t mean the flower is secretly whispering to start a war in order to quell unrest in the kingdom.
@ Viktor had an alternative/future version of himself pulling the strings on his interactions with the Arcane from the very beginning. His characterization of the Arcane isn’t exactly good evidence. In fact it was only that alternative/future Viktors intervention that pushed the scales to keep the world from dying out completely. The Arcane is clearly just a force in their world, a force that has cause and effect. They messed with the arcane enough to cause a huge ricochet that would’ve ended the world without an alternative/future Viktor saying ‘oops let’s try that again’. Instead of Viktors biased characterization of the Arcane I think we should be looking at the conversation between Jayce, Ekko, and Hemerdinger before they touched the anomaly.
If we take the interpretation that the events that happened in the series were because of the arcane's influence here and there; are there aspects of the arcane that try to cause events to lead to disorder instead of order?

That was how it was destined to go. Everything he did, even though it was to not let that ending happen, ended up beign the catalyst that starts it. "One often meets his Destiny, on the road he takes to avoid it." -Master Oogway. And the only reason it didn't was because of Ekko's resolve to return home.

Naw it was never gonna work. Victor was always gonna do what he did. That was the point of the time loop where they lose. Sometimes the only way for an arc to complete is to get what they want. Which was victor seeing the world he’d create.
That's not 'technical' at all, 'technically' we talked about the bible. We ALSO talked about stuff outside of the bible, but we are not 'technically' talking about stuff not in the bible in particular.
Oh my god ...Arcane means "to be understood by very few" At least in my reading of him...Viktor's character arc is very much about the struggles of feeling misunderstood. How hard it is to overcome those feelings when they're basically hammered into you again and again and again throughout your life that "you are different" "you are an outsider" "you are inferior" "you are disabled, poor, sickly, etc etc etc". Seeking some sense of community you do not naturally get. And the drastic measures someone might go to just to feel accepted, valued, and loved. As he loses himself to the hexcore, Viktor believes his new power is able to help him unite everyone and make them all equal, but really he is just turning them all into basically clones of himself, speaking with his voice, sharing his mind, agreeing with everything he thinks and says. He may believe he's become less lonely, but really he is more isolated than ever. No longer a human with the the ability to be understood, but instead a strange god-like being created by a strange unknowable magic. However ...in the end Viktor is freed of the "Arcane" once Jayce learns to understand him better, and then expresses to him that he loves and accepts him as he is, even with his imperfections. That he loves him for his humanity. Viktor is freed from the Arcane...when he realizes he's understood by more than just a few. Excuse me while I go fucking SOB FOR AN HOUR!
The ending was trash and they needlessly made Caitlyn and Vi lesbians. Worst part? You never got ANYTHING from Jayce and Caitlyn. They were close in season 1 but that fellnoff half way through and then NOTHING in season 2.

Riot used them together for valentine events and skin advertisments in pretty much every one that happened since she was added. Vi's first ever release skin description and lore states that Caitlyn is physically attracted to her. Mate, stop deluding yourself and go somewhere else with your rage bait, this was always how these two were always portrayed as a pair.

It should've been Sky instead of Jayce who made Viktor stop his endeavour in the end of s2. It would've parallelled perfectly to how she died trying to pull him away from the hex core in S1, resulting in him stopping his experiments altogether.
It was tragic how she disappeared into the hex core trying to save him, it would've been heartfelt and beautiful for her to save him successfully and the both of them to disappear together. Viktor ignored her in the beginning, but now directly faces and fully embraces her in the end, the person who admired and adored him the most for who he was, despite his disability. It was sad how they didn't let her accomplish anything except keeping Viktor company, then just vanishing.
Jayce should've stayed in Piltover to rectify the damage he caused with his invention. He'd be forced to finally adhere to needs of his people, and address the inequities of the people from the Undercity, as the story has constantly been hinting that he needs to do

When they touched the Arcane and went to different dimensions/alternative universes, I just wonder if Jayce's version was the one where he kills Viktor but doesn't succeeds in showing him the end of their world, or where he doesn't kill the Viktor and it will lead to this. Maybe if Jayce didn't shoot him, Viktor wouldn't evolve and they wouldn't have to save Piltover from him and killing themselves at the end. Maybe if Jayce showed him what will happen before acting, Viktor, still being mostly human and less arcane itself, would understood and stop it before it's too late. Personally I think Jayce fucked it up by shooting Viktor.

i think it was future Viktor who told him to kill him. based on future Viktor's words, he saw all possible outcomes and it all led to the same disaster except the universe where hextech was not invented. even if Jacye didn't "kill" him, Noxians would have destroyed the commune, or Singed messed it up, or Viktor lost his powers to support the hivemind. the notion about two sides of the coin when it comes to humanity still rings true. someone would have wanted the power Viktor had and they would have done anything to get it which would have led to Viktor coming to the same conclusion about humanity. and truthfully, killing Viktor would have worked if not for Singed so...

7/10 really needed more time to flesh out problems instead a lot is just resolved to give importance to the bigger threat and the time travel resolution makes a lot of the ending events unnecessary, Jayce just had to touch Viktor to show him the future and himself instead of killing Salo, shooting Viktor and start a war with a lot of casualties

And what did slico say to her the only way to break the cycle is to just walk away. She also did that. Sooo yea i think we will see her in other league related animated films. Maybe someone can expalin me why Jayce had to kill Victor in Jesus village in episode 6, since he already knew that he was the mag from his childhood, the point is that all this had to happen to get to this point? But why couldn't he show/tell him this before all the trouble and war happened? He didn't know that Ekko would have a time changing device that would save the day at the last minute. And why did Victor come to his sanity after being hit in the face in the finale? Or why, when Sky disappeared, did she say that he wouldn't miss her? I literally had a hard WTF moment because I was sure she would confess her feelings to him or something xD

Arcane has a history of show don’t tell when it comes to characters clashing together. Why didn’t Vi just explain to Jinx that Caitlyn wasn’t there in season 1 to haul her away? Why did we never see Ekko explain to Powder/Jinx about him being in an alternate timeline? Why didn’t Jayce just talk to Jesus Viktor before all hell broke loose? If talking to someone to make all the pain go away was that simple there would be no show…Also, Viktor made it pretty clear that there was no convincing him. Remember Jayce had just come back from a devastated world, belly full mutant lizards, and a brain all muddled up from just traveling through time/apace. He’s not in his right mind and we can see that from him tweaking out and hallucinating back in his original timeline. He’s driven by one ultimate goal, to stop the spread of magic and ultimately keep the promise he made to his partner, end all of Hextech. I don’t think Mage Viktor had meticulously planned everything out like a coordinated plan down to Ekko smashing him over the head to bring him back to his senses. We see that when we see the other versions of Mage Viktor give Child Jayce a different rune every time. Viktor knows that Jayce is the key to stopping him but it’s my theory that in every other universe Mage Viktor failed, it’s only in this timeline with the acceleration rune that Ekko could serve as the catalyst and Jayce the key. Ekko broke through physically to get to Viktor’s human self but Jayce was the only broke through emotionally.
Sky represents all of Viktor’s guilt, remorse, and remaining worldly attachments before he ascends to godhood. For so long Viktor punishes himself feeling responsible for Sky’s death. He made Jayce promise to end Hextech after her death but in season 2 he is undoing everything and by embracing his invention he has to also let go of his remaining guilt for Sky, for humanity. I also think it’s funny how even after intertwining their consciousness together, Viktor KNOWING Sky had feelings for him, he still hit her with that “Ms. Young”. Even in the ultimate farewell, he couldn’t have the decency to call her by her first name, and Sky knew this. Knew that Viktor was completely out of reach, always had been.
For me it was Viktor using arcane magic before meeting Jayce. After rescuing Jayce, he gives him the rune that'll fuel the creation of Hextech so he can show him what that will lead to in the future.
My question now, where did Viktor get those runes from because they aren't the ones Jayce created? If Jayce was still a child, how did he introduce Viktor to the arcane and why give him the problem that creates that future? Couldn't Viktor show himself the truth of what he'll become if he continues using magic? I know it's paradoxical but it honestly doesn't make sense to me

Liked the video but I do take issue with the idea that the Arcane in anyway was willing this situation into being for any sort of better future. If a person plucks a flower they could choose to make a flower crown or poison. That doesn’t mean the flower is secretly whispering to start a war in order to quell unrest in the kingdom.
It's how Viktor described the Arcane so you'll have to argue your logic with him.
@ Viktor had an alternative/future version of himself pulling the strings on his interactions with the Arcane from the very beginning. His characterization of the Arcane isn’t exactly good evidence. In fact it was only that alternative/future Viktors intervention that pushed the scales to keep the world from dying out completely. The Arcane is clearly just a force in their world, a force that has cause and effect. They messed with the arcane enough to cause a huge ricochet that would’ve ended the world without an alternative/future Viktor saying ‘oops let’s try that again’.
Instead of Viktors biased characterization of the Arcane I think we should be looking at the conversation between Jayce, Ekko, and Hemerdinger before they touched the anomaly.
If we take the interpretation that the events that happened in the series were because of the arcane's influence here and there; are there aspects of the arcane that try to cause events to lead to disorder instead of order?

Naw it was never gonna work. Victor was always gonna do what he did. That was the point of the time loop where they lose. Sometimes the only way for an arc to complete is to get what they want. Which was victor seeing the world he’d create.

At least in my reading of him...Viktor's character arc is very much about the struggles of feeling misunderstood. How hard it is to overcome those feelings when they're basically hammered into you again and again and again throughout your life that "you are different" "you are an outsider" "you are inferior" "you are disabled, poor, sickly, etc etc etc". Seeking some sense of community you do not naturally get. And the drastic measures someone might go to just to feel accepted, valued, and loved. As he loses himself to the hexcore, Viktor believes his new power is able to help him unite everyone and make them all equal, but really he is just turning them all into basically clones of himself, speaking with his voice, sharing his mind, agreeing with everything he thinks and says. He may believe he's become less lonely, but really he is more isolated than ever. No longer a human with the the ability to be understood, but instead a strange god-like being created by a strange unknowable magic.
However ...in the end Viktor is freed of the "Arcane" once Jayce learns to understand him better, and then expresses to him that he loves and accepts him as he is, even with his imperfections. That he loves him for his humanity.
Viktor is freed from the Arcane...when he realizes he's understood by more than just a few.

The ending was trash and they needlessly made Caitlyn and Vi lesbians. Worst part? You never got ANYTHING from Jayce and Caitlyn. They were close in season 1 but that fellnoff half way through and then NOTHING in season 2.
Cait and Vi were together before the show was even made in the first place.

Riot used them together for valentine events and skin advertisments in pretty much every one that happened since she was added.
