(For everyone that needs to run a remote/ Control wire on the Malibu) on the Factory amp in the back there is 3 plug ins.. last one at the bottom will have a green/yellow wire that you can tap in to make a remote/control wire. This allows it to turn off and on when the car is on or off so that it doesn’t drain your battery
So all you did was connect your LOC to your stock amp then run wires from the LOC to the aftermarket amp then amp to subs nothing else ? I’m afraid to doing that and not getting any results so i want to be sure before cutting wires etc.
@Miesha Chandler it will work, that and remote wire and power and ground for amp and it's set. Hooked mine up today and tested it off a jump back before I continued wiring amp
I was about to replace my amp to get rid of the noise😭 thanks to this video I finally got rid of the noise, and it saved me from spending money I didn’t need to🙏🏽
Purple/blue wire is part of the ANC active noise cancellation. If you didn't cut the wire you will get a big loud sound and stayed loud until you slow your speed to less than 10 miles per hour. Most model they called it Speed Volume Control I think I like this name better than ANC. Sorry this is all I can explain about this wire
First time installer , when i tap into the factory amp wire with the LOC it automatically tap into the head unit ? Or speakers ? I’m a bit confused .🌚 leave it to a girl 😂
I always drill holes in things I can't even name, lmao.. seriously tho you can put the wire thru a factory wire access that will already be in your firewall somewhere.
Do you happen to have the wire schematic for the non amp modes of the 14. Malibu 8 gens I been looking for help for year now and only got the Bose ones and 13 or 16 models got the touchscreen tv but non navigation any help would be very appreciated thanks so much
I got a 2017 Malibu LT and my amp doesn’t have the the same wiring as yours. The 8 pin connector also doesn’t have the wires colors you mention earlier under someone else’s comment
I’m confused on your speaker wire set up? For a first time installer. Just doesn’t make since, how you tap into the amp then from the amp, to the LOC? Why are there wires coming from the aftermarket amp? Where do those speaker wires go? Coming from that aftermarket amp?
The wires from factory OEM amplifier located right rear under the trunk will goes to the LOC(line-out converter) the speaker output from the aftermarket amplifier goes to the subwoofers. I hope that helps let me know
So wait im lost i have a 2017 malibu with the nav and android auto touch screen. I dont have to replace the head unit at all and just wire my amp like you did so no rca from the head unit
