As a follower of Florian Gadsby - and thanks to his detailed walk-throughs video - I can now appreciate all the finesse behind the throwing on the wheel, and let me say I see so much of it in your work as well :) Keep it up!
@@da_forma do you sell them, or if not is that possible you could make a video on how you make them and how you use them and also the meansurements so we could follow your suit. Thank you so much. I follow you too on IG. Love all your work. Espc the shape.
@@judywang8393 Hi Judy, I don't sell these custom ribs, as they are a part of my personal work development. I actually have a video showing the making of one for some other cups. I highly encourage you to try it out coming up with your own measures and designs, it is a fun experiment. Thank you for the support!
Some Handmade repetion! I like the idea a lot with the wood shape tool! It is sometimes the simple way to make big things! Please, keep repeating, but differently! !)
Hello..thanks for the video..was unable to get almost same shape but this is good video to get same shape..one request if possible can i know if you have video of making that wooden piece to shape the mug..if I can see..thanks
Hi, another awesome video. Love the work. Can you share the weight of the clay you measure out for each cup? I couldn't catch it on the scale. Thank you!
Thank you! That’s thanks to my throwing gauge (the pointer tool) that allows me to throw the rim to the same point every time, getting an accurate height and width.
I used 150g of clay. The dimensions where around 6cm high and 6cm wide. The final piece is much smaller though, as the clay shrinks during the process.
It is usually called a throwing gauge. It serves to make consistent height and wideness as well. The one I use I made myself and I also sell them on my website, if you’re interested :)

Such a meticulous process, this was lovely! Thank you for sharing it with us.
Glad to share. Thank you for watching!
Love that little shaping jig, what a great tool
Crafting those has been so useful that I might make a video more focused on that.
@@da_forma I think you definitely should

Obrigado Juh,
So glad you enjoy the videos. I am trying to publish every Sunday :)
Took an intro to wheel throwing class this weekend. Getting it centered on the wheel and level took like 20 minutes by itself 😂

Lovely! How much clay do you use per cup?
I tend to use around 150g.
So impressive. How to you get the width of the rim the same every time??
Thank you!
That’s thanks to my throwing gauge (the pointer tool) that allows me to throw the rim to the same point every time, getting an accurate height and width.
Can I ask where do you usually get the shaper tool?
I make the wooden ribs myself. You can see how I make them in this video: ua-cam.com/video/li5p_inpnjo/v-deo.htmlsi=XQE5rfhmrumLKWw0
@@da_forma thats amazing! thanks for sharing! I love those ribs design!
How much do you weigh your clay for these cups??
It’s around 150g
How much clay used and what are dimensions of cup?
I used 150g of clay. The dimensions where around 6cm high and 6cm wide. The final piece is much smaller though, as the clay shrinks during the process.
What is the name of the device you use to keep a consistent height?
It is usually called a throwing gauge. It serves to make consistent height and wideness as well.

Yes, I would like to know the details. I am trying to work on a consistent height and width.
@@yourbeamofsunshine You can find the link to my website in the video description :)
Nice. Big expresso…
Thank you! I know they seem big here, but the clay shrinks all the way through the process, so in the end they are an adequate size.
Would love a little commentary
It is not something I am considering for the short term. But maybe someday, who knows.
Très précis tout en douceur félicitations mais pourquoi jamais le poids
Pouvez-vous me l’indiquer
D’avance merci
