    Your pair of hands can cook,can bake,can make plate,can build shelf & play cello !
    What else you can't accomplish ?
    You're really good in everything.
    All the work you had produced are so delicate.

      Im now done with my ceramics lessons and I made 2 plates using the same method you did. I even crushed some dark stones to put in the clay to imitate the mica you used. I will try to post my result.

      I know I also went to pottery classes inspired by this video I went ahead and made all my tiles for my back splash in my kitchen I honed the process and repeated it producing multiple tiles by hand that really impressed my pottery tutor. This channel teaches me to pay attention to process and the rest will follow :)))

      This is so what I expected from the Japanese culture. The master walks over to review what he has passed on to his student. Just like in the movies. It was perfect and satisfying to see this tradition. Much love and respect for Japan! ❤️🙏

      Most universities have classes in making pottery, in the arts department. I remember taking the class many decades ago. I liked the old fashioned kick wheel, not an electric powered one. In an empty peaceful pottery room, with the silence and the rhythm of the kickwheel controlled by one's own energy, it was like meditation.

    I'm reminded of how pottery class always stereotyped as some boring couple activity, but this looks like really satisfying work. I really like to look of these plates, but I'd imagine they're not cheap, don't know if making them yourself is any cheaper or if it's just for the personal touch.

    • @fishbonesinc
      @fishbonesinc 8 років тому +2

      Bobby White
      Luckily I'm not in great need of vases, would you say it would cause a problem for a bowl though?

    • @bobbywhite5319
      @bobbywhite5319 8 років тому +7

      Hmm, depends on how deep the bowl will be. If beginners try to make a big salad bowl, you'll be in for a challenge. Start small, but the most challenging part of ceramics is centering. Even after you pat down the clay as round as you can, it will never be centered which is why you need to do that.

    Beautiful work! Though I must admit, I'm a bit jealous of your little glaze ladle for painting the clay. When I took ceramics at my school, it was so messy with the glaze and it was difficult getting the stuff out of your nails even when you love working with clay! Great job, and you got a tasty-looking salad on top of that, too! ^^

      @@adrianomaly1760 Silk is a beautiful fabric however, it is not "Vegan" as it is harvested from Silk Worms. Veganism is more than a diet choice. The vegan philosophy rejects the commodity status of animals and requires that adherents abstain from using any animal products.
