Tinkering, rebuilding and restoring motorbikes is so therapeutic it is one of the only things that gets me through the winter months. Good to see James and yourself having fun look forward to the banter and updates.
I'm lost for words. Rainey preferring the ROC frame I remember so well. Nobody but him knew why. Watching Whitham's and your enthusiasm for this bike almost brings me to tears. Thanks much.
Love it Lee, great to see you posting this kind of content and even greaterer seein' Mr Whitham sir sharing the knowledge and passion and crackin' on. What a joy, and whaaat a bike man! Proper job! ❤️🔥❤️🔥
I love to see James at work even though I only understand slightly more of what he says than I do Guy Martin, but that is why they have closed captions. 😄😄
Good on yer Lee for taking this on. Nice to see you took it to Jamie, cant get used to seeing him in those dadbod specs tho'😂 he's still a legend but, its about time he got a knighthood for his dedication to British racing!😊 all round good egg 🎉
As soon as you turned the camera around I went Wow! 😮 out loud! What a beautiful bike, I'm only 2 mins into the video and I can't wait to watch the rest of it...👏👏👏👍
Loving this content Lee great to you and Whit working together on this project also love the Yamaha LC in the background if I had the money I would be interested in buying it all the best Les👍👍👍
Rich Oliver raced one of those in the formula USA back in the mid 90s he won 3 years in a row. . formula USA was the best class ever!! U could race any bike any mods!! Lee shierts took 4th one year on a 250cc
I first saw JW at Scarborough on his MBA125 he was the image of Kevin the Gerbil back then, no offense meant. I think the TT media stuff is much lacking his knowledge, insight & humour. But most of all. I love his true lad in his shed love of 2 strokes. Much like Roger Marshall. He is real & hasn't disappeared up his self. Keep up the good work chaps.
I poo my pants loading a 2014 Daytona in a van, let alone those beauties. I enjoy these videos to live vicariously through you, but then they end and I remember I'm an accountant nnnnoooooooo. Top vid 👍
Back in the day I watched Wayne racing for Kawasaki Superbike at Willow Springs. He battled with the new Honda Interceptor. At the time I was riding a GPZ 750 with a Kerker Superbike pipe. I was very impressed with the new Interceptor so I sold the GPZ and bought a Interceptor. Yeah I'm old. I am still riding and loving my 2019 CB1000R but am riding with much more caution. I was very lucky (when I was younger) of not getting killed doing the kind of speed I used to ride at!
That’s looks a beautiful bike Lee. I do hope you get the engine sorted. I would have thought with teams trying to run classic bikes. An Engineering firm somewhere would produce remanufactured parts. 👍
very exciting! - I also watch Allen Millyard - if you cant source a part - have a word, he cuts two engines in half with a hacksaw, and joins them together!
Grate Blog again going back in time was good Neil looked younger ( Joke ) Loved the YZF hope you can get the equipment to service the engine Whitman knows his stuff clever guy . Hope the next blog is about this YZF 👍
I’ll be following the progress of that with interest. I remember reading Niall MacKenzie’s article that you have laminated there. He spoke about the price and availability of clutch plates for it. Was something shocking and that wasn’t yesterday 😳
Gary Dynes raced a Roc Yamaha at the Ulster and the TT... Seeing those Tech 2000 stickers on the fork bottoms..rang a bell...🏁 I may know of some spares...for that???
Lovely handling of the rim's lads.on concrete,on the steel lift and actually use a steel hammer to drive it home.sweet Jesus,I'm irish too by the way and honestly after seeing that I'd get somebody who knows what their really doing to strip that motor.being mechanically sympathetic is priority when you're not a qualified mechanic. That machine deserves far better I'm afraid.mind her.
@@nickrider5220all noted but its impossible to get across the point how well engineered these parts were and if you're showing this to public then handle them as a professionaly trained motorcycle mechanic would.james is a hero of mine to be honest but I was a little disappointed.not that I'm perfect but he knows better . legend that lad but christ if I had the chance of building that machine.the thought of cleaning that engine without stripping it blows my mind. I'm just jealous I reckon!
@@nickrider5220neil is a man that's knows his stuff but really isn't into the camera which I totally appreciate but I hope people realise how tasty he is when he's doing his job.just my thoughts.
Great Vlog Lee, l remember those days like it was yesterday...Mackenzie on the Banco Yamaha France machine, Whitham, Reynolds, Haydon, Buckmaster, Graves... all on YZR500's at the time... they were the Golden Days... Harris & ROC frames were the thing to have for the privateers (& Rainey). Definitely keep the content coming for the rebuild. Mr Whitham's enthusiasm for this period is immense & his knowledge is second to none, along with people like Clive Padgett...really enjoyed every minute of this, thks👍.
But, what about that nice white, were they 79? Daytona Special? Send it my way, and I'll show you what scary wheeleys with a kid on the back going up hills is all about ... heh heh ... oh, but that was black and yellow, never mind ... had a red 77 rd ... and then of course the rz350 crashed on a fine winters day ... many a wheelie and a slippery manhole on a rainy day ... gona be an excellent build and bird ride ... better get crackn on the old friend's gsxr1100 from the non-water cooled days ...
Let young Nathan ride the RC30 again next August at the Manx and put a wee Irish lad on the YZR 500 for the Classic Superbike race (not Mike Pineapple Browne who wouldn't appreciate it!)
Lee, One of Rainey's championship 500's just became available, original, sat, unrestored condition, tell Whitty sorry 😞 no spares.. your boss may fancy it.. Cant post links but u can find me thru Speedwerks, Face book or web,,,,,, Love the Channel too!!! Cheers Steve

I could watch you both all day, very knowledgeable and a good crack too, keep them coming, brilliant watching! 👏👏👏
Chuck Graves YZF750/1000 is my #2 fave, the Rainey YZRs are my all time favorites. This is beautiful.
love this great interaction from two very knowledgeable racers

This is an incredible project, look forward to the updates on it!
Thanks for sharing it with us
Always liked James, never knew he was so knowledgeable about bikes mechanics. Top man
Oh my lord, imagine the track days you could do, if only those engine spares were more plentiful, best of luck to you and Jamie on the rebuild.
Best video you've done for a while, love James's enthusiasm & his knowledge is on display.
Really looking forward to seeing the progress and hear it running 💨💨
My 2 favourite bikes in 1 vlog, the YZR & the LC, Cant wait to see the updates on the YZR !
As soon as you turned the camera around I went Wow! 😮 out loud! What a beautiful bike, I'm only 2 mins into the video and I can't wait to watch the rest of it...👏👏👏👍
Great to see Whit and his knowledge, always a pleasure just like as a commentator on BSB and WSBK
I didn't realise James was mechanically minded..I know he's like an encyclopaedia on motorbike racing.. great vlog Lee.
He has done some amazing restorations.
Brilliant, I could watch this type of video all day. More details on the actual processes please. 😂
Brilliant, love a bit of you and Whit in the garage. More trials you pair.
Interesting vlog Lee, look forward to the rebuild, thanks for sharing.
Love the LC in the back of the workshop! As a Schwantz fan RGV for me but the YZR will be awesome once done! 🔥🔥
Nothing looks as good as those magnesium Marchesini 5-spokes - But it's bothering me that the front direction is incorrect :D
Loving this content Lee great to you and Whit working together on this project also love the Yamaha LC in the background if I had the money I would be interested in buying it all the best Les👍👍👍

Great to see Neil keeping into his diet. You’re looking a lot better mucker !!
And Witt just call him the professor of two strokes .

Brilliant vlog. Love these vlogs with Jim. Very interesting 👍👍👍
Had forgotten about this bike. Nice work so far, so im really looking forward to seeing the rest of it.

It’s good job Neil didn’t see you smacking those wheel spacers in them bearings. Can’t wait to hear that fire up
Hopefully, all goes well getting it finished, running & ready to show off soon! ✊️😎
Love this video and always enjoy seeing the super knowledgeable Whit’
Sigh.. Got to love the two strokes. Will always be the sound of Grand Prix motorcycle racing.

Superb video, great partner with James, hope you get some parts ..

Love a bit of whitam restoration 👍
Look forward to seeing how this continues!
Topper of a video Lee, keep the good stuff coming, it is much appreciated.
Think you need to send Clive Padgett a box of biscuits maybe a nice bottle of wine for them parts 😂🤞
I’ll be following the progress of that with interest. I remember reading Niall MacKenzie’s article that you have laminated there. He spoke about the price and availability of clutch plates for it. Was something shocking and that wasn’t yesterday 😳

It's a copper mallet and it's a covered floor, you can see the joints of the flooring. Having seen some of Whit's work, he's pretty good !

So cool doesn’t seem that long ago they were screaming around the circuits. Time keeps on ticking
Great video!
Always interesting.
Beautiful
Where did you get the frame refurbed? I’m doing a 1994 Gixer and the frame isn’t a mess but I’d love it to be a prefect brushed finish.
What a bike 👌 top video
Brilliant 👌
Lee would love to see a video on how the frame was restored to a brushed finish really need to do my 97 blade
Fascinating engines
Great video
