- Is taking the Tri-Rail train from Ft. Lauderdale to Miami before boarding MSC Seashore a big mistake?
Some airlines are significantly cheaper flying into Ft. Lauderdale rather than Miami... but once there, should you Uber, hop in a taxi... or take the Tri-Rail train and save about $50-$60?
We put it to the test to find out... and it might have been our biggest mistake!

I’m watching this video I think for the 5th time. lol I’m going on the Seashore in a couple of weeks and want to get familiar with the ship. One thing I noticed was the yellow suitcase!!! I’m looking for a yellow suitcase to stand out from the others. My husband says otherwise but oh well. Where did you get it? I have one saved in my cart at Amazon but will shop around to see if I can find a better price. Love your videos!! ❤
Thanks!!! 😊 The yellow suitcase is from eBags. Wonderfully built. Bought it in 2018… still going. They seem to be phasing out a lot of their hard side luggage over the past couple years and have gotten rid of that style, but Amazon has many styles that are similar. Here’s a link to a set that’s almost identical to ours (and gets great reviews). A family member bought this set last year and she loves it…

Great video! I'm going on MSC Seashore in october and also flying to Ft Lauderdale and was planning on taking the Tri Rail to Miami as well. Where did you guys put your luggage when you got on the train?

There’s no luggage area on the train… so you’ll have to just hold onto it. We sat at the front of a car on the lower section… there’s extra room in front of those seats, so our luggage (2 rolling, 2 backpacks) sat right there.

We live right smack in the middle of Port of Miami and Port Everglades (Ft Lauderdale) 25 minute Uber Ride to each Port 😁 Your right not worth it,take an uber next time.Good choice with Versailles 👍
That menu at Versailles was overwhelming for 1st-timers… I think we made good choices but everything sounded so good, probably could’ve ordered about 17 more things! 🙃
I have a flight from Miami at 3.50pm and I dock at Port Everglades. I am British so very used to trains. Do you think I will be fine going TriRail? Just looking to waste time and not sit on the floor of an airport 😀
Hey there! TriRail will get you there but keep in mind it is more like a US public bus (plastic seats and not so clean). You would have to taxi to the station in Fort Lauderdale but it is not far. Then it will take you directly to Miami airport in a little more than an hour. It would be an adventure ha ha. Bright line is another train but a little nicer. We haven’t had a chance to try that but it’s on our list.

Thanks! Brightline would’ve been much better for Chris’ germophobia!😁… We thought about the Brightline, however we decided we wanted to do it as cheap as possible to see if it was really worth it. 🧐

Why not fly to Miami instead of FLL?
You absolutely can. However, sometimes flights are wayyyyyy cheaper to Ft. Lauderdale (ex: we saved $123 per ticket)… so we wanted to show folks that it is possible to save a fair amount of money by simply taking the Tri-Rail train between the cities… at the expense of lots of time. 😊
Plus, we love trying new things!
