  • A demonstration of wudu performed according to the Maliki school by Shaykh Khatri in Mauritania.
Note: Shakyh Khatri accidentally washes his face only once instead of three times (still fulfilling the fard/obligation) but then goes back at the end to do it two more times to fulfill the sunnah

MashaaAllah! It is such a pleasure seeing the Shaykh perform Wudu once again. I remember back in the day there was a video of him performing the Wudu. It was so inspiring and truly gave the sense that Wudu is an act of worship that entails consciousness at many levels. May Allah reward you, ameen!

@@abhi739 I would have to disagree with your assessment. This is a religion of Mercy. We have a rule that if water is indeed an absolute necessity or something not found that you are able to purify yourself with pure earth in an action called Tayyamum.
Just because your created notion of reality does not fall in line with our understanding of metaphysical reality, it does not mean that your understanding is a standard and objective truth for all.
Ignorance about religion and understanding it without study through the proper channels can lead to false assumptions and breed unjustified and misdirected hate. I kindly ask that you educate yourself more on the topic.

    Asalam u alaikum all
    1. When your washing the arms upto the finger tips must you also wash in between the fingers (like one would when washing the hands at the start)
    2. When wiping the head from front to back of the head could you wipe a little further down towards neck... As you cant ensure where your hair line at the back stops ? Also as I have long hair too when we bring the hands back to the front and all hair come forward can we push it back before me to next step
    3. When cleaning the nose ive always followed the ruling of using left hand to wipe inside of nose to ensure water has reached it .. rather than using the left hand and blowing the water out of the nose. I'm now guessing the latter is correct .. or does it not matter ?
    4. I usually have long hair so can come in the way when trying to wipe at the back of the ear..must I remove all the hair out of the way and wipe the back of the ears?

The shaykh is taking too much time to do wudhu. Also he is trying to rub every millimeter of his face, etc. I will advise Muslim brothers and sisters suffering from waswas (OCD) to not watch this video because (taking too much time + rubbing every millimeter, etc) all of this would make their OCD (waswas) more severe. In fact, normal people might develop OCD watching this video. My own observation watching this video was that the shaykh himself is a bit affected with waswas as he was taking too much precaution in making sure the water reaches each and every part of face, hands and feet etc. Precaution is good, one should not be negligent but like the shaykh was doing toooo much precaution while doing some parts of the wudhu.
